Pros: There was no redeeming quality of this sad business.
Cons: This was a three day rental. I booked this for my 84 year old father.
First car broke down seven times. After much complaining...they agreed to give him another car.
We paid for a midsize...he drove a fiat stick shift. I'm sure my Dad didn't complain about the stick...he owned one for years, but he's 84...come on guys...use common sense...oh and that little bitty car was cheaper so there should be some money coming back right? Think again!
HIS $98 dollar three day rental where he was downgraded and had to deal with a car with severe mechanical problems cost $250.00. He complained and they dropped it down to $150. So a 50% increase over the agreed upon contract for a downgrade and a car in unless than safe conditions.
I think this type of behavior is unacceptable.

Pros: Great price for a last minute reservation! Pickup attendants were very helpful!
Cons: I would have liked if they would have asked if I'd prefer a vehicle with Bluetooth. Also, the gas tank was 3/4 full when I picked it up, but the paperwork said it was full. The pickup attendants were very helpful with making both of these adjustments for me.

Rental of last resort
Pros: Drop off customer service in Montreal (airport) was good, efficient.
Cons: Slow customer service at Albany, NY (airport), no car options. Was given the smallest possible Economy category car, despite paying the higher rates for a different drop off. Driver's seat headrest was not in place (in the back seat), which is a security problem. Trunk barely fit a tote bag. Customer service on the phone was terrible; had to call twice to talk to someone. Finall spoke to someone only to get charged a whole day for returning the car 1.5 hours late (although the rental agreement listed an hourly rate)!

Retribution From Alamo!!!
Cons: I rented a car in Albany, NY on November 7th. I was on an Emergency Trip to help my brother who has a brain tumor and didn’t know my exact plans so I rented it for a week and thought I’d drop it off at Newark. It turns out I then had to go to Florida to care for my parents who are in their late 80s. I ended up getting a flight from Westchester Airport 4 days early on Thursday Nov 10th. Upon dropping the car off I was informed the total bill would be over $600 and not the original $200.
I was appalled and walked into the terminal to speak with the Manager Mark Hirsch. He was quite nasty and said there was nothing he could do. I asked him to contact the corporate office. The corporate office told him the Albany office would need to handle this. He called several numbers at the Albany office but was unable to reach anyone. He eventually sent an email to the Albany Manager and told me to expect a phone call. I never received any call.
Upon arriving home last Thursday I then received a Fed Ex letter from your damage department claiming I had damaged the car. I did not damage the car. Your office claims I was told about the damage upon there return; I was not. It seems obvious to me this damage claim is a thinly veiled retribution.

Great car, value for money
Pros: Was lucky to get a free upgrade to a Dodge Camaro. Ran great. The customer service was excellent.
Pros: Easy to deal with and rental agents went out of the way to please, plus the GMC Yukon was top notch way more then I expected for the price I paid....
Hundreds less the everyone else...

Watch out for insurance scam via Kayak
Pros: Car was fine
Cons: Watch out ordering the insurance coverage. Ordered insurance because we were traveling in a large Urban area. Arrived to get car and they insisted that no insurance was ordered. So added it.
Come to find out the insurance via Kayak is via a 3rd party, so they sell you the insurance again at the counter. So I got double charged for the insurance. WATCH OUT FOR THIS!!

Pros: I liked the vehicle. But what I really liked was that they voluntarily shaved some off the final bill because I had used so little fuel. I had prepaid for gas so I wouldn't have to find a gas station when I returned the car.
Cons: The wait at the counter was long, about 20 minutes.

Cons: Salesman a little pushy. I know its policy to try and upsell but he was just a little overbearing. Ins. and taxes cost more than rental fee.

Cons: Drove about 60 miles from Albany, got a flat, called customer service(roadside assistance ), told it wouldbe $65 for someone to come out...and that was to just put the spare on, not a new tire. I said i can put the spare on myself. Then was told had to drive back to albany to get a new car. Got back to Albany and find out that if I had the roadside assistance (wasn't mentioned or offered at pickup ) they would have brought a new vehicle to me. Not a good experience.

Pros: I liked the final price and the choice of car.
Cons: The pickup location listed on the itinerary was not the pickup location. It was the Enterprise gated lot where the inventory is kept, a mile away. The literal hike back to where I knew the Enterprise booth was at the airport (at a completely different address than was listed on my itinerary), was a complete waste of my time. I have had to take shuttles about a mile away from the airport in different locations to pickup rental cars in the past, so the initial directions taking me past the airport did not seem out of the ordinary for pickup at first. Once finally at the counter, the sales rep tried to tell me the insurance I could opt for at $9/day was $14/day. I had it right on the paper print out but he acted "surprised." I am smart enough to know that this was an attempted upsell. I am also aware that you do not even need this insurance, so I asked him to forget it all together. Then I was told that the car rate was going up because of this. Which annoys me. 1.) Because my rate was booked independent of the insurance I hadn't opted into yet, and 2.) Because this was Saturday morning. I was taking a car off his hands for the weekend that would otherwise badly affect his numbers. I almost cancelled all together because of this until miraculously I rented an upgraded car for a discounted rate (that was still an upsell for him) after explaining I know how this works. Way too much BS to go through especially when surrounded by other car rental services in the airport who are also trying to get rid of cars over the weekend. The lines at the other desks were the sole reason I rented with Enterprise.
