Great location and afternoon tea was amazing.
Location and old world elegance
Several elevators broken, tea room not kept up-my chair had a big hole in it. Chairs looked dilapidated, carpet worn, menu insert pages barely legible (bad photo copies). Most pages had faded writing in 3 of the four menus. Also-3 menus did not include alcoholic beverages
Room was 'nasty' for a 4 star hotel. -broken soap dish on the floor -faucet handle was not fastened and fell. -really dirty carpet -old building. poorly renovated. bad paint job in the hallways.
65.00 a day to park car didn't know where to go for breakfast?? not alot of water pressure for shower
Room was clean.
No recreational stuff no pool no sauna nothing it was boring.
We loved the location and the welcoming and helpful staff. The atmosphere is elegant. For a small extra cost, we opted for the Executive Room with access throughout the day for a light breakfast, snacks during the day, and hors doerves during cocktail hour. It's view is spectacular and all but the tables which are too small, we enjoyed immensely and visited often during our stay.
WiFi in your room is an extra cost and not included in the price of your room.
Good location and excellent room
The manager on staff for saturday and Sunday 9/4-9/5 was very personable and went the extra mile to meet our needs. The entire staff provided quality service.
The room had a musty odor and the bed was uncomfortable. Onsite parking is very expensive. No free wifi available.
I lived in Chicago for many years. I loved this hotel when I lived there for tea and the atmosphere and I still love it now visiting and staying at the hotel.
Upgraded to suite
everything was great.
valet parking was toooo much. There should be a discount for parking when staying there.$49.00 a day for parking is too much.
Beautiful hotel with lots of history
Great rooms, wonderful historical publics spaces and kept sparkling. The Cabaret was a special treat to see and hear.
The staff at the Oak Bar/Restaurant ignored me for almost 15 minutes before i finally stopped a waiter and asked for service. He said the "waiter" was busy doing something else. Then he showed up. I asked for a beer while I looked at the menu. That took another ten minutes although I was seated at a small table right in front of the3 bar near the kitchen. When he finally brought it, I said, another 10 minutes, he said the bartender was not behind the bar so he had to wait. I'd never waste my time there again, even though the food was very good.
Location and history of the hotel.
No swimming Pool.
Beautiful, historic hotel offering a wonderful experience
The location was great for Shopping and sightseeing. The rooms are large with high ceilings. A nice change from "Boutique Hotels".
The Doorman told me that the Airport Shuttle was expensive and unreliable and that we should take a cab. If this is the case, then the Hotel should make arrangements for a more reliable complany to service the hotel.
