on both occasions the bathrooms were dirty. on the first occasion the wake up failed to matieralise.
reception staff friendly helpful and efficient. room comfortable and spacious, generous tea/coffee/toiletries. bar comfortable and relaxing, food good value, breakfast wide choice and well cooked. thought leisure facilities were included in price as in blackpool cliffs. disappointed to find they wernt. welcoming staff at breakfast was a little sharp in her interrogation of if youd paid. could have been handled, more tactfully.
We only used the Hotel for a stop-over for a flight from Gatwick. It was very convenient with the transfer bus and this was the reason we booked the Hotel N/A
The spaciousness of the hotel and its relative quiet. Room furnishings. Yes. the bathroom was not clean and had no soap, the passages and stairs needed new carpets and paintwork. There was no TV changer and none was supplied during a two day stay. Staff were reluctant to put meals and drinks on to the hotel bill and asked for cash. The carvery food was second rate by carvery standards. Check in was slow and confused.
Very slow service for bar food, which was of poor quality. Shower water was cold/luke warm.
...only the kind staff Everything...except the staff. Old, dusty hotel. HORRIBLE rooms and bathrooms... Stay only if its an emergency and if you just need 1 night to visit someone around that area near the so called "hotel"...or maybe Dracula's Manor.
It was easy to find.It was very close to the motorway and it was very easy t5o get away from The hotel was quite possibly the worst (decor, service, food, facilities, staff and parking) I have ever experienced-anywhere in the world.
Clean adequate and comfprtable. My room was also very quiet. Nothing
Practical and comfortable
used it as a stopover for an early flight the following day, good value with plenty of affordable holiday parking options
Nothing stands out as being particularly special. The hotel was adequate for what we required, stop over for Gatwick airport.
Very close to Gatwick Airport. Helpful, friendly staff. Very nice hotel. As window didn't open, had to leave air conditioning on all night which was very noisy, so didn't sleep very well.
Convenient location Noise of air conditioning system, inability to get fresh air into room, always having to wait for attention at reception
the room was clean and tidy on arriving at the hotel you have to pay for your car parking even for the time you are staying in the hotel. The hotel even those it has a 4 star rating there is no one to take your bags and show you to your room
TV control doesn't work
Absolutely aweful service, terrible customer relations, poor food.. no choice. Room service was a joke! Had to help other customers...
The room was very clean and comfortable. The que for checking in was quite long and we waited a while.
restful & quiet atmosphere, giving us time to unwind after a hectic 6week tour of the U.K.. Staff were helpful & very pleasant,& food was great.
very clean / friendly staff limited wine list that was overly expensive.
Location poor from airport ....No Air con in rooms and windows couldnt open .Water cold in shower ...a dreadful experience for a Ramada Hotel .
First time I have had to pay for a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. The whole point in staying near the hotel is that normally you get free courtesy transport
It was fair stay but not comfortable......the service must improve ...also the menu must be changed and finally the stafff must inform their customers about the breakfast time,we asked the reception and they said breakfast is served till 10.30pm and when we came down at 9.30..they advsied that it's finished... service and menu....
Generally good, but WiFi sign in system a hassle and card swipe door keys real pain rarely if ever worked first time and usually took 3-4 tries at least.
The staff is very friendly and hard working The trains are very loud
Easy to find location from website and is signposted when on the approaching road. Polite friendly staff and clean hotel.
Very near the railway station -
It's in a great central location, so you can go out in Crawley & eat/drink/shop etc. Even though it's next to the railway line, we didn't hear the trains. Hotel decoration lovely, very clean, very helpful staff and it has excellent facilities. Our room was very spacious & they'd thought of everything. En-suite was huge compared to other hotels, it had a separate bath & shower. Lots of thought had been put into the design & comfort of the room/hotel. Really pleased with the hotel & we'd definately stay there again, especially if we were taking our daughter, as there are connecting rooms. Also have a shuttle bus to Gatwick airport which is really close by, but again didn't hear any noise from the planes.
the mattress and bedding was excellent paying for the parking
Charged for 2 breakfast but was alone. Should have asked me first before charging.
Convienent location Dreadfull catering & and catering staff
Clean and wide room very low water pressure from the tap
close to station, high standrad of facilities, excellent food.
wide and clean room The reservation through Arora hotel web site does not work.
A beautiful hotel set in great location. Will have to take the wife there sometime!!
due to this nice garden and anchient atmosphere cold floor in a bathroom
Friendly staff, attentive and efficient. No milk in the room for tea or coffee.
Great hotel...all very good.
The personal attention and quality of accomodation
Fantastic setting, well furnished rooms and great service
I was very late coming in , but I had a very warm reception and was taken to my room very quickly , it was very homely and I was so sorry I only spent one night . My phone was ringing all the time , only to discover somehow calls were coming to my room not reception . Also the cold water didn't work in the shower . I did let them know
It is a very convenient setting for Gatwick airport but the actual building and surroundings are beautiful. the room was very stylishly furnished. a luxurious bathroom and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A real gem.
wonderfully comfortable beds, gorgeous bathrooms. Very helpfull staff, and the most excellent breakfast I've ever had! Needs to have lighting that comes on when you walk round to the suits in the dark.
Every thing. The atmosphere. Just every thing is perfekt for a weekend stay with your wife
Truly one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The staff is extremely kind and professional, and my room was magniificently decorated. The bathtub was even big enough for me, and at 6'3 that's rare to find. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet, and the hotel grounds are gorgeous and well kept. I hope to have a chance to stay again someday for more than a one night visit.
nice big rooms Reception staff could of been better, they put me in the wrong room twice!
Location Near Airport, Bar Meals Available, Free Transport Pick Up Just Pay £4 pp For Hoppa Bus Return To Airport.Very Reasonable Hotel Stopover All Round Good Value Airport Overnight Hotel.
Although we didn't use the car parking facility, it is very good value for momey. The shuttle bus was on time, clean and convenient. The bar prices were expensive. We had to carry all our luggage for a two week holiday upstairs as there was no lift
I liked nothing about the hotel. The staff on arrival where rude and un friendly. The staffs attitude. We booked a meet and greet and ended up waiting a further 20 minutes for my car to turn up. This was even when we contacted them as soon as we had landed.
It had a quiet peaceful atmosphere and is reasonably close to the airport
ease of check in and airport transfers stairs to rooms
Close proximity to Gatwick Airport pleasant reception area to relax after a long journey Poor reception on TV in rooms.I had 2 rooms and had travelled for more than 2 hours and we all wanted to unwind before eating
Very conveniently located and food was good. When we first checked in, the TV didn't work and it was no trouble for staff to change us to another room - we were staying 4 nights. Mattress on our bed was not comfortable and bed creaked every time we moved - not good for a mature couple.
I Parking was next to impossible because of the number of cars belonging to people using Gatwick, cars were coming and going at all hours. Had I known it was a Gatwick Parking hotel I would have gone elsewhere. The hotel advertising should indicate that their main guests were people travelling through Gatwick.
Large clean rooms with good facilities and hotel was easy to find.
location to the terminal restaurant was expensive
There wasn't anything not to like. We arrived at 7.00 pm and left at 5.00 a.m. Did not like the restaurant. We booked a table and the food was not up to the standard we would have expected.
The Softel is less than five minutes walk from the Gatwick check-in desks via a slopped covered walkway. The staff were efficient and the atmosphere throughout warm and friendly. An excellent place to spent the before an early flight, I would definitely stay again.
Convenient location on airport Price of room service breakfast
Ease and access to airport None
Staff were friendly. Room very clean. Beds comfortable, not sagging in my middle as some are. Excellent location for Gatwick airport travellers. Good restaurants. Priced reasonably. They view! But cannot help that. But the large windows were nice.
location was why I selected this hotel. location was excellent Very expensive!
The location is excellent. Staff were efficient but a little arrogant. Problems connecting to the internet in the room. The connection was very slow. The location of the room safe at floor-level is ridiculously inconvenient. The safe did not work. I'll try the Hilton next time.
The best part was the access to the airport which allowed us to wake up and check in easily. The location was fantastic and the staff were very very helpful. Will definitely use this hotel everytime i am flying out of gatwick.
Ease of accessing the internet
The lovely atrium and the easy access to Gatwick airport together with helpful and friendly staff.
Location and price - clean and very good and professional staff
I thought the rooms were fantastic and I really liked the small lavendar spray. Its the little things that can make a difference.
The hotel was excellent, I would recomend to a friend
We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a club room which was excellent. Also good value for money
Easy access, good value. Restaurant food was quite expensive, and food sounded good, but was plain.
Very clean , very good service , near to main shops etc. The size of the executive rooms .APPROX 9 FT SQUARE ! We could hardly get our suitcases in to unpack ,take turns in moving about the room . Having paid top rate for this room I did not expect a box room .
I was upgraded upon arrival
Shuttle service to Gatwick airport not frequent enough
I wish there was a shuttle to transport you to and from the airport
Leisure Facilities were good & Courtesy Bus Bus was Handy & on time! Food in Cube Restaurant was poor & didn't fit the description of it as on the Menu. Also paying 2.00 per person for Bread was a bit much as it should come with the meal (especially as we had the Chowder/soup!) I've also put some of these comments on the questionnaire that was in our room.
Ease to get to the Airport The sound of the elevator woke me up several times in the night and when I shifted myself the bed moved around, get rid of the wheels.
Proximity to the airport and ease of catching courtesy bus.
Our room was very cold on arrival due to the heater not working but this was soon remedied when a member of staff checked it and then gave us the option of moving to another room, which we did. We were also impressed with the convenient connection to the airport, with buses running every 30minutes.
Helpful courteous staff. Good level of noise (not intrusive) Problems with Wireless Internet access which meant I couldn't use.
The beds are so comfortable and soft.
The food I had at the bar was good, and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. The AC didn't appear to be working in my room (only warm air would blow out), but the window opened, so I didn't feel the need to contact anyone about it.
Slept!! Double bed too small
The hotel did exactly what it said, it was clean, efficient and well situated for our needs. The food was well presented, albeit we thought that the standard was not up to the standard of the presentation, we thought the food to be too bland. But nevertheless it did sustain us.
Very good restaurant and menu; staff were helpful and pleasant
Had our Christmas party there. Food and disco nice. Had a good time.
The absolute only thing we liked during our stay was the fact that it was so close to Gatwick airport, besides that- nothing. The website was very misleading. We arrived and gave our name and reference number yet he had no knowledge of our booking. i had to go on his computer and print out confirmation from my emails- but as i was doing this.. he found my booking amongst a pile of notes in his filing cabinet. We had to pay for the transfer to the airport the next day- on website it say its free. Room was not very nice at all, pillows still had hair on them from previous guests. As travellers we have stayed at quite a few backpackers and hotels yet this bed was like sleeping on the floor and this accomodation as a whole was the worst we've stayed at. Definately not worth the money we paid!!
other guests showing no reguard for others at 3 am when they got up to leave
Good food and good service
Free transfer and breakfast ıncluded ın faır prıce room very basıc and shower cabınet fılthy
Good staff Very noisy
I think I was lucky. It could have been much worse! Just stay away...I really can't be bothered to waste my time writing the negative points of this hotel...far too many
Convenience to airport. Quick courtesy car.
its a crap
All the staff were very helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Nothing The interior was old and battered, nothing like the photos on the website, very disappointing, cant stand the smell of curry!!
Location and very comfortable bef Everything is fine for me
It is perfect for the night before flying as it is located at the airport. The breakfast was very nice. The air condition was a little bit noisy.
Proximity to airport The hotel is terribly maintained. Had to switch rooms twice due to bathroom related maintenance issues. They finally put me in a decent room on the executive lounge, which was OK but even that had its issues. AC was terrible and the spacing between the bathroom sink and faucet was very awkward, making it difficult to effectively wash your hands. All in all a pretty bad hotel. The staff was nice though.
excellent location as we had an early flight from Gatwick airport south terminal
Close proximity of gatwick airport Restarant/Cafe in the lobby was expensive - plus "hidden" 10% service charge.
The convenience of the location, the beds were very comfortable. Our air conditioner was broken when we arrived and the room was incredibly hot. The engineer was very nice and apologized quickly and requested a room change. It then took concierge a further hour to relocate us (10 rooms down the hall). At which point our children were completely starving and exhausted. The food in the garden restaurant buffet was mostly good, though expensive, but we were seated in a dark corner because we were a family, where the staff were already setting the tables for breakfast around us. Service was polite but very slow and waiters were unaware of the fact that children ate for free.
The best part of this hotel is that it is so close to the London Gatwick hotel it may as well be a part of it. Very convenient! There could be a few more amenities to may the stay more memorable.
Our reservation was not in the system. They did not give us access to Internet for our booking but we understood that free Internet would be included based on the booking criteria.
Location and staff very old decor in room and bathroom, the bed was uncomfortable, missing towels and only one set of pillows were provided
excellent location of hotel close to airport hotel far too noisy at night, with fellow guests making all the noise
The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We could only find one working ice machine in the hotel. The bed bugs we encountered weren't very pleasant either.
It was a very convenient location. You could walk straight through into the airport. The rooms were very dark, one small window, no mini-bar, very busy and you felt your journey had already begun( that airport feel ). Staff were very busy and room service meals were poor.
Room was clean, comfortable and pleased that a kettle and tea were provided. Breakfast was more than adequate. Room was your best point. Check-in was nothing short of a disaster. I waited 55minutes before getting to the desk to check-in. There was only on person on duty and her workload was overwhelming. She had problems with your booking system and as the queue to check-in built, we were asked to take a seat and wait, while she worked hard to cope with every other enquiry that the hotel had. But, I have to stress she was doing her best and maintained as a polite of attitude as she could, despite angry customers. You must have at least two people on the desk at busy time and I blame you management rather that the girl on the desk. Not Good at all.
Staff were friendly nd helpful at all times z
The hotel was clean, room was quite spacious, clean and with good proximity to airport parking with free parking. The hotel was within walking distance to Crawley centre and there was a Harvester just outside the hotel.
Good value for the money, clean room, good breadfast, free newspaper, nice tv, helpful, failrly friendly staff, good location to the train station to London. You know, I would have to dig to find them, say for instance, the eggs and sausages were not hot, hot, they were well warm - but this is not a complaint, it is the reality of the situation and I am so thankful to have a breakfast. There was not room safe, but we didn't leave any valuables in the room anyhow. Oh, no bus service to the hotel.
Clean and tidy room, good choice and standard for the 'continental' breakfast. Coffee very good, for a hotel. Hotel staff very helpful when the electronic door lock failed to work. Room walls thin... very noisy! Couple next door. Pillows very uncomfortable The electronic door lock failed locking us out.
Value for money. Location.
Good price and decor Very near rail station Very good breakfast Value for money motel!! Good shower 1 tv Station seletion poor. Normal 1-5 station bbc itv etc about 4-5 sport then the rest seemed to be movie selection which had to be paid for a sure money maker for motel company given that there is a great many free channels that could be included 2 No heater in bathroom, and as there is air extraction it makes it cold 3 We were only given 1 'card key' and have to insert card into a card reader that lets you have power to room hence when one leaves the room and takes card key to go out for a meal etc all power is cut off, so room goes cold....not good 4 No info in room regarding local eating venues 5 No radio/ alarm clock by bed 6 No spare blanket in case of cold etc 7 As the motel shares parking with Harvester eating venue there may be on busy nights a lack of parking
Friendly, clean, good breakfast None
Very comfortable bed, smart decor, v smart bathroom, v quiet
the friendlyness of staff and excellent service xx nothing, was perfect
Having to use the bus, waiting for it ,paying for it loading and unloading bags
Very attentive staff in the Hub Bar/Resturant area, excellent service. As this was the first time we used Holiday Inn Gatwick we were surprised to find cars parked in the shuttle bus area causing us to wait almost 15 minutes as we could not get passed for the cars. We had had a very long drive to get there and the 15 minute wait seemed like hours. If only 2 cars directly under the reception canopy were removed there would be many people that would not be inconvenienced in this way..
As expected for a Holiday Inn, staff was fantastic, great location if you want a quick overnight hotel for an early morning flight. The GBP3 shuttle bus only takes about 15 mins from Gatwick South and only 5-10 from the hotel to Gatwick South. All in all, a great bargain for only GBP49. The room did not have a minibar/minifridge, which was a pain because I had some things I wanted to keep fresh for the next day flight. Also, very little free tv channels compared to their "100+ channels" advertising. The mattress wasn't what you would get at a 5 star (obviously), but definitely better than your average budget hotel.
Comfortable bed, very close to Gatwick When you first pull in there are cars everywhere. They are parked on the double yellow and the grass so it looks like it's going to be difficult to park. Then you pull around back and there is a HUGE, almost empty car park. I guess people are just too lazy to see that there is also an entrance to the hotel at the back.
Convenient for airport - eg close to terminal, shuttle bus - reasonable room and facilities, sound staff, reliable re cleanliness etc and very quiet - an important point! Good breakfast Slight feeling, at dinner, that I was being leaned on a bit too much to eat and drink more than I needed!
close to the airport shower is poor and did not work properly
My stay was short, but comfortable. good service and close to the airport for travellers. would highly recommend to passengers from gatwick. online price very reasonable
The convenience I needed for my contact woth some old friends, and closeness to Airport and related transport options for travel when not hiring a car. The rooms were very small for a so called upgrade .Also a very worn old easy chair for one person only in a Double room.
proximitry to airport and ease of access
Location Beds could be more comfortable.
Convenient location and pleasant atmosphere No
Comfortable beds. Stocked tea service in room. Free shuttle to airport. No Shampoo in bathroom.
The airport shuttle was nice. And our room was quite.
The room was big enough and clean. The shuttle to and from the airport was quick and the drivers were friendly and helpful. The servant in the bar at night was very helpful and polite. The cleaning crew respected our check-out time and did not enter our room until we left. Requested a cot bed beforehand. When we checked in, I asked for it and it hadn't been set up on our room. I was then given the travel cot in the lobby, which I had to carry myself to the room and set up myself. The lobby, the bar/restaurant and the rooms look modern, but the rest of the hotel is very very old and dirty. Dirty carpets, very bad access for a push chair (they did have a lift, which was working). The bed was too small. The towel hanger in the bathroom wasn't working and so didn't produce any heat at all. The air conditioning had a terrible smell, the filters were probably not cleaned in a while, which is a health hazard. We had breakfast and were seated in a table with a very dirty cloth, with lots of crumbs and sugar.
The taxi to and from the airport
The drivers to and from the airport with the courtesy shuttle were quick polite and very efficient. Excellent service. Otherwise the hotel was ok, but not more than that
it was nice and the staff were freindly. the rooms were clean, free tea and coffee and a comfortable climate, furnature and bed. no wifi and bar closed with no option for drinks to the rooms after hours.
My wife were in the area on business and choose the hotel, from internet, we were both very impressed with the hotel and the staff the best value for money we have had for a very long time. Wishing you every success .Ray Davies no complaints at all
In need of renovation everything is scruffy, it felt more like a youth hostel
Room was clean and comfortable.Staff friendly. Shower didnt work very well, breakfast staff not so friendly
The Location Room needed maintenance
The George Hotel was conveniently located for nearby shopping which was the purpose of our trip The Staff did not seem to have much local knowledge and weren't that helpful with directions. They were also not very interested when we complained about the noise from another room. The staff in general have a lack of enthusiasm!
It's location for Gatwick Airport, shops, restaurants and pubs in Crawley town centre. Cleaner didn't replace empty shower gel dispenser.
reception staff was extremely helpfull and professional soap and shampoo containers in rooms!! How difficult to get the soap out of them? You need to go to gym to be able to squeeze the soap or shampoo out of the containers!
Refurbished rooms generally ok Terrible water pressure - can't get a decent shower
breakfast was good. Near the shops and station The reception area was dirty. My bathroom had a problem with the electric ventilator
quiet comfy room. Historic building tined fruit for breakfast. it seemed like breakfast was chosen for cheapnes and convenience of staff rather than health and pleasure of guests.
Size and comfort of the room. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The hotel is in central Crawley and thus convenient for shopping.
The fact that the high street has a pedestrianised feel to it as tarffic is very minimal. Also it is nice to be away from the main area in the different wings off of the car park No.
Its town centre location, and ample car parking. Plenty of hot water. Room very well heated (it was a very frosty night). No shortage of food at the buffet breakfast, and the staff there were friendly and helpful. The grouting of the bathroom tiling very grubby. Re-grouting would improve its looks considerably. Plumbing in bathroom in need of attention. The bath water didn't drain at all (bath still filled with cold water following morning). Otherwise OK.
This hotel was close to Gatwick and the free shuttle to and from the airport was a great feature. We also had a rental car and this hotel was very close to the rental car drop off. From the drop off we could just walk to our south terminal. This B & B was clean, had a very good breakfast and we could walk to downtown and a number of eating establishments. (Six Bells Pub-excellent)
Excellent breakfast and excellent porter service fron airport. Getting up steep staircase with luggage. Should have been offered downstairs accommodation or told about the stairs
We stayed in the family annexe which was fantastic as we are a family of 6 we would normally have to book 2 or 3 hotel rooms.
The very friendly host who went out of his way to pick us up from the train station, and arrange our return trip. The room was comfy, clean and pleasant and we appreciate being served an early breakfast with great coffee so that we could catch an early flight.
the staff were accommodating and helpful, really nothing seemed too much and my room was extremely comfortable and clean parking was tricky but this was quickly organised by the Ambers in their own carpark
Vert good hospitality and good location and nice breakfast. The owners are nice people, ready to do anything for you.
Comfort, friendliness and good food
Clean, comfortable and 'chilled.' nothing
Friendly and helpful staff, good service, hotel facilities clean and in good order, no problems. None apart from the weather!
free parking charged extra for credit card although not stated in booking.com , heating was not working , Unclean room , internet down , early checkout and staff not friendly
they kindly allowed me to store my bags between check-out and my late afternoon flight. the bathroom was very clean. lovely house. •WIFI: the wifi internet was super slow, and then shut down entirely. unacceptable in a developed country. •DIRTY: there was a old fan in the room that turned on, but didn't blow any air. the wiring around the fan was entirely coated in dust. disgusting. it clearly had not been cleaned in months, which shows a lack of attention to detail. •CHECKOUT: checkout is at 10am. considering people have afternoon flights, would it really kill them to allow guest to checkout at 11am or noon? i never heard of a 10am checkout at such a small guest house. •ODD: the owner quoted a 7 pound taxi to the airport but it was 8. i don't care about the money, but this again shows a lack of attention to detail considering they must send several people to the airport daily. not knowing the price of such a core part of the stay seems strange.
near the airpot cheaper then going to London and overnight rather old matresses on beds
Easy to book, location was excellent for walk into town and proximity to Gatwick. Lodgings were clean and in good order The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in.
Pleasant and friendly staff; Easy to find location; Enjoyable breakfast; Generally, very clean throughout. Guest House staff didn't know we had booked and it was a bit embarassing on arrival; Very cold in the bedroom, with no portable heater available, when asked.. Decor, is 'dated' and tired throughout some of the Guest House
Everything provided that was needed and rooms clean. No. other than we had to lift our cases into the car taking us to airport (we are not young people) but the driver was female so there was no way round it.
Clean - nice room with ensuite - quiet - friendly
Close proximity to Gatwick. Also had a train stop close by. The bed was not so comfortable. Very lumpy.
My daughter and I stayed. Lovely place!
This hotel is excellent for flights from Gatwick.the Management and staff are both friendly, courteous and helpful
Friendly and helpfull staff
Good location and price. Good Friendly Service None really, although it would have been handy to have a mirror on the dressing table
rooms were great, clean & tidy plenty of Tea & coffee resonable room service if required nothing
staff was nice all the time. A bit of a language problem I guess. Had a problem to get to operate the safe but the gemtleman could not figure it out, but no big deal anyway. and 2. the wide angle lens of the camera sure does a good job in disguising the truth. The room looked spacious on the website, but once we experienced it , was a different story. Quite small I must say but it was clean , just that one gets a different impression when you see the pics on the website.
Excellent service - nice clean room Difficult to find - put the full address on the website
Very friendly people.
Very friendly staff. Overall this is a hotel whose staff are trying hard to do well and getting it right.
quite and welcoming, staff were helpful. Limited parking
Location, comfort, friendly atmosphere. I liked everything.
The staf were very pleasant and helpful, the room was comfortable and warm and certainly value for money My bed was not made at all or the sheets changed in the 3 nights I stayed there and neither were the coffe/tea replenished. I was surprised that they did not have wifi or free to view TV but only the 5 Terestrial staions.
Spotlessly clean - you would struggle to find a speck of dust! Very friendly, courteous and efficient couple run this guest house. Ample parking. This place would have been amazing in 1985 - fine if you don't mind dated décor. The breakfast could be improved.
No good points Run down. misrepresentation via website. dirty. unsafe (fire hazards, trip hazards)
Only the location in respect to our destination (Iffield) The bathroom facilities were poor. The breakfast quality was poor. The room did not have double glazing. The bed linen and furnishings do not match and there is no homely feeling.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and the Guest House had a very good, relaxing atmosphere.
Close proximity to Gatwick, ease of access. Helpful staff. Being able to leave my car during my holiday. Strong smell of central heating oil in room.
Clean and friendly sharing breakfast table with strangers. No tea making facilities in room. Rather dated in decor.
clean bed linen, secure car park peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, no complimentary bath soap or shampoo, train noise, faulty shower, cold breakfast, dated decor, fried food odour
The location was reasonably quite with only a little aircraft noise from the nearby airport. My room was very small and had a strong smell. However when I complained, I was moved to a double room. This had a small childs wardrobe that was not tall enough to hang my suit carrier. The bathroom was outside the room but private, except there was no lock on the door. The quirky furniture was not too my taste, but the bed was comfortable. Rugs on the floors were horribly dirty, and I made an effort not to stand on them in the bathroom.
Close to airport, nice spot
Selection of food available, some missing items on restricted menu.
I like the most facilities in room about the tea/coffee,hot chocolate with cookies and also cleanliness of the guest house. I had a good sleep. Have very limited vegetarian breakfast.
In the room there was everything you could need from razors to a folder that had every takeaway/restaurant menu in the area.
Friendly and efficient owner. Excellent breakfast and convenient for early morning flights
This is the second time we have used Rosemead and on both occasions we have been delighted with service received. We will use the guesthouse on future journeys without a doubt.
Nice staff, tasty freshly cooked breakfast, nice garden, clean rooms, real English countryside house, free of charge shuttle to and from Gatwick. When booking this hotel please pay attention, that check-in hours are between 4 PM and 11 PM. If you arrive early you might not get in and better wait at the airport until check-in time.
We were extremely comfortable. The room was very clean (smelled great) and dust free though a tad small but the bed was most comfortable. Teas, coffees and cookies greet you when you walk into the room..... wonderful idea. The bathroom was fabulously tidy and the shower was relaxing. The breakfast prepared by the host was fabulous. The grounds were pretty and secure. It was very close to Town where we shopped and within walking distance too nice eating places, pubs, and a laundertte and so we didn't rent a car. It was also very close to Gatwick Airport, the Horley Train Station and the buses. Taxis arranged by the hotel were on time. All in all, we made an excellent choice. It felt much like a home...less like a hotel.
Reception was very responsive to my e-mail queries. Room was comfortable and clean. Free wireless internet was a big plus. None.
Good value for the money, rooms were roomy for two adults and two children, excellent cooked to order breakfast, convenient to Gatwick airport. Decent selection of restaurants within walking distance. The bathroom had an unpleasant odor, but was clean.
Bed was comfortable and the place was decent Owner had very bad communication skills and acted as if we were intruding when we needed help with something. Heard afterwards from others that she runs people off with attitude.
I liked that we could have breakfast at any time we wanted (e.g. 5.00) and that they ordered the taxi to the airport for us (and payed it).
