Pros:What is not to like about a brand new Altima? Friendly service when I arrived very late to pick up the car.

Pros:The second car, a Chevy Malibu, was a nice car.
Cons:The dashboard lights on the first car, a Toyota Camry, lit up on the first day, telling me that my anti-lock braking system, blind spot monitors, and collision warning system weren't functioning properly, and I lacked windshield wiper fluid. So I called Dollar and talked to maintenance. They asked me if the car was still running "normally," and I said, "yeah," I hadn't gotten into a wreck yet, so they said I could keep driving it if I wanted to! I asked them if I could return it, and they said they would give me a new one and a discount if I did that. So that night I tried to return the car, but then they told me all they had left was a pickup truck, so I had to come back to return the Camry the next morning and pick up the Malibu. This only set me back about a 1/2 hour on my travel schedule, but they discounted me a whole $7.80 for my inconvenience! I was told that "this happens sometimes on Camrys," although it's the first time that I've ever heard of it. I don't think I was prepared to drive several hundred miles that week, much of it in rain, with dashboard lights saying the car was basically "out of service." Dollar should spend more time maintaining their cars instead of waiting for them to break down.
Pros:Car was nice and worked perfectly.
Cons:When I picked up the car, the agent told me about a 200 mile/day limit that I was unaware of. The agent was sure to point out that it was my mistake for missing the information. They should have been more helpful in addressing the problem instead of defending their role in it. (When I went back later to see where it states there's a 200 mile/day limit, I still couldn't find it anywhere.) I was also charged $19 more than expected. When I called about it, the agent was unable to help me and gave me another number to call tomorrow. Also, when picking up, the agent should tell the customer "Stop at the Dollar booth in the garage to get the keys." I was not told that and I walked a long way to the car to find it without keys. It was extremely cold and I had my kid with me. We walked around to find help. The person in the Dollar booth said, "You need to stop here first.". Thanks a lot. By the time I got in the car to begin my vacation, I was so heated and frustrated that it took a couple hours for me to cool off, forget the bad experience and start enjoying my trip. The car was awesome, but the pick-up process was pretty rough.
Pros:Staff was not friendly. Poor service.
Cons:Extra fees (not insurance) were more than 60% of the general rental cost. Not at all disclosed in request/confirmation. Customer Facility Fee - $2.50/day RAF (what the hell i that) - $4.00/day Occupancy Tax - $8.00/Unit AP Rec Fee - 12%/$31.74 SEC Fee - 2%/$5.93 Vehicle/Sales Tax - ~$35
Cons:I was charged 50% more then I was quoted, this was after I complained about the extra charges.
Cons:"We don't have any cars" is all I was told when I gave her my reservation. I was able to make other arrangements and when I came back, she was renting a car to someone else. An apology or details would have been nice but I was just told I would need to wait at the airport and they would page me.

Cons:I reserved a car. They had no cars left. Told me the only thing available was a 12 seater transit van. Not acceptable. I have used dollar rent a car several times out of Omaha. Never again.
