Cons:If insurance is mandatory, it should be included in the price quote.
Pros:Dollar lured my family in with a low price listed on the internet. BUT it was only an empty promise as they made us pay nearly twice that amount upon our arrival to pick up our reserved vehicle.
Cons:My family paid in full online prior to my trip. We received a confirmation of both our payment and reservation. After arriving in our destination (Costa Rica) Dollar made us pay additional insurance and fees to obtain our car. With our young children in tow and after pleading with them for 2 hours we had to pay the additional money to drive away. A formal credit discard dispute has been filed. Stay away from this dishonest company.

Cons:The insurance was extremely expensive. Something I wasn't aware of. It cost me $800 for 13 days.
Cons:I purchases insurance on the Kayak site, upon arrival in San Jose I learned that the insurance purchased wouldn't work in Costa Rica. As a result I paid for separate insurance.
Pros:Customer service at Dollar
Cons:Kayak misrepresented the vehicle. I booked a vehicle that could fit 7 with insurance. When I got there I found out the vehicle only seated 5 and the insurance I paid for through Kayak wasn't even basic insurance for this country. Ended up paying 400 more than originally quoted!! Could have saved almost 200 going directly through Dollar.
Pros:The return bus to the airport was full but our luggage was already on it so they were very good and board meeting our trip to the airport so we could stay with our luggage. The van driver was super!
Cons:It was a high-pressure sales approach to upsell you on higher levels of insurance. They have want to play the game that you're responsible for everything in the car if you don't take there more expensive insurance. Doesn't matter if it was a flat tire anything else you are responsible. Spent almost an hour getting checked out so we could start our vacation. Pretty miserable experience. The minimum insurance was $13 a day and was required. Quite a surprise at the last minute.
Cons:Lied about cost of mandatory insurance to try to up sell us other insurance, didn't provide the car advertised, horrendous exchange rate. Will say anything just to try get a few extra dollars out of you.
Cons:Total scam. You think $150 for the week, and the scammers hassel you to $500. Some people were $1,000 for the week.
Pros:Car -- drop off
Cons:they sold me insurance I did not need. Very aggressive - overall I paid $30 more than I should have.. Rechecked when I got home and the original amount was correct on advice from your U.S. telephone rep. They gave other renters the same treatment.
