no critical remarks, indeed
Cookie upon arrival. Staff tried to be helpful when we had to move rooms due to building noise from the fire escape which was next to our room. The gym was clean and well equipped. The hotel is in a process of refurbishment so only the 4th floor was in use during our stay. The hammering and drilling started at 8am on both days we stayed and despite moving rooms it was like being on a building site. The beds at the hotel were the hardest I have ever slept on, I have been very fortunate to have travelled all over the world with my job so have slept in many hotels but this bed ranked as one of the worst! We were in room 400 (on the 4th floor) which was the furthest room from the elevator. Annoyingly it was too far for the wifi to stretch so we were forced to sit in the lobby to get online. Overall our stay was very disappointing and we won't return to this hotel in future.
Extremely helpful staff, beautiful venue. A bit pricey, but the full service and excellent rooms justify the price if you're looking for a luxurious stay.
The room was spacious and clean. The food served in the bar was excellent and the bar staff were very friendly. The staff at the front desk were not helpful (I tried to get directions to get out of the city and they were most unhelpful and quite rude). The room was nice and spacious, but the extra bedding provided as part of the 'family room' was of very poor standard and very unconfortable. If you stay in this hotel do not accept room 127, it's just beside a can/water machine and main entrance to rooms and it was terribly loud up until 3 or 4 am. Perhaps our experience would have been different if we happened to be in a different room.
I loved the room...it was large and comfy and so clean...and beautiful! The hotel is very fanciful, like a persian dream meets I dream of genie...wonderful to experience...the restaurant is amazing for dinner and breakfast...just a gourmet delight! I wasn't sure at first about the location, but believe, after sight seeing and shopping, the quiet street in the quiet neighborhood is a blessing!
the hotel and bar area was first class, very lovely ambience our room was tatty, paint peeling off the bathroom ceiling and dirty marks in the rest of the room, it was a real disappointment for an hotel of this standard
Clean, decent, and within walking distance of several venues. Get the breakfast with your reservation. Nothing negative, or constructive to offer.
A very convenient location, close to Dublin City centre. Lovely staff. An oversight by housekeeping meant our room wasn't replenished and we almost ran out of loo roll!
very close to city centre, and very reasonable prices the food was terrible
Room was plenty big for family of 4, convenient to bus stop, DART station and air coach pick up, Michael the manager was helpful and friendly. Elevators were broken, windows didn't open all the way, the facility was worn and needed paint and repairs, front desk staff was unfriendly at times, didn't leave enough towels for 3 people even though it was booked as a triple.
had to pay at the bar, for food and in the hotel as not the company
how quiet and calm the hotel was had to pay at the bar, for food and in the hotel as not the company
Hotel is nice, staff is also. Hotel is next to park, ideal for morning running.
What i liked about staying in this hotel was the location not far from the city centre or from Dundrum Yes both myself and my partner were very disappointed with the breakfast the food was bland and it wasnt good value for money. Lack of tea / coffee facilites in the room.
The staff—Ceclia, Owen, Tracy, Luisz and others—were friendly and always helpful. The breakfast offerings were wonderful, served with friendly grace and style by Dalva, Lidija, and Allesandra. I’ll be honest: we attended a wedding at the Mount Juliet near Thomastown, and the food was better at Ariel House. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Located in the quiet suburb of Ballsbridge, Ariel House is convenient to the DART and the Aviva Stadium, and there are some nice restaurants nearby, notably the Old Spot and the Lobster Pot. (At the latter, Michael Garlant will serve you with old-world elegance and 21st Century friendliness and wit.) Wish we could have stayed longer, but we’ll be back.
Staff v pleasant food v good No 2nd cup in room or flannels - no safe and the staff were under the impression that each room had one !
Very professional, friendly, competent and helpful front desk and great wait staff at the restaurant. Fabulous and generous breakfasts and excellent food for every meal. Comfortable room. Excellent wi-fi. Very small point: could have had more drawer storage.
Handy location to city centre, easy charm and friendly staff. The rooms are well equiped, furnished well and cosy. The bed was large, but the mattress a bit firm for my liking. The food was rustic and plentiful and good value for money. The restaurant was cold and drafty with a 'musty' smell due to the old timbers. There wasn't much of an atmosphere as only a handful of people dined whilst we were there. The breakfast staff were slow and inefficient - tables were not cleared, food not replenished at the buffet table and you had to ask for everything, milk, spoon, toast etc. And it wasn't that busy!
This is a wonderful townhouse to stay in for a couple or nights in Dublin. We stayed as we were at a concert nearby and it was ideal. The staff are welcoming from the time you arrive. We were offered complimentary tea/coffee in the drawing room on check in which is a lovely touch. It is in quiet location and you can be relieved that you will not be disturbed by noisy stag/hen parties as in many city hotels! The breakfast is freshly cooked with fresh baking also and the best we have had of many places.I We would highly recommend Butler's.Book it!
Friendliness&helpfulness of staff
Staff was great, food was outstanding and the premises just right I liked everything
The staff in reception were very helpful and friendly and the location was in walking distance to the town centre which was good for site seeing. Buses also went right past the door and into the town. The small village nearby had a good range of restaurants and pubs too.
Up for the match and Tipperary won, lucky place!
Friendly staff; nice bathroom; The bed wasn't very comfortable
Lovely rooms and excellent breakfast n/a
Location and room Breafast. No bowls ,no tea cup ,no black pudding , no newspapers
The staff were really amazing - very friendly and helpful. I'm notoriously bad with directions, but they patiently helped me map out routes to the city, but stops, etc. The room was perfect for my needs - just enough room and very clean. Beautiful sunlight filled the room (when it wasn't overcast outside). The room service portions were very generous and the food was excellent. The portions were a bit too large for me, but could have easily been shared between two people. Very convenient location. Quiet residential/business location. Walls seemed paper-thin, but I think that's because of the age of the building. I don't think there's really anything that could be done for that - it wasn't really a bother. Maybe I just didn't walk around enough, but it didn't seem like there was very much to do (for a business tourist, anyway) in the immediate area. The Internet cut out frequently in my room. These are just very minor complaints, though. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend the hotel to anyone who is seeking a comfortable, clean, convenient location for Dublin travel.
Location and food were great! Hotel needs updating...beds are uncomfortable and very squeaky, rooms are outdated.
nice surroundings and very clean
Friendly, accommodating staff. Quiet, safe location for independent traveller. Constantly providing tea with a smile!
