The location was fantastic and a welcoming family run hotel No hp sauce for the breakfast
friendly, very comfortable, pet friendly- my dog was welcomed.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. We were given room on the second floor of the hotel. The alleyway was dark and smelled damp and the room was dark as well. It would have been better with more lights. Overall i didnt feel it was value for money.
The views. Some of the staff were a bit too relaxed for business use. Breakfast was not available when it was supposed to be and we were not given a full receipt/invoice for our stay.
Great Location right across from the Loch Ness, the hotel itself is a disaster, run down in severe need of maintenance & sprucing up. Understaffed. Wifi only works in the lobby. Ample free parking
Location was great, staff very friendly. Menu could have more variety.
Elaine and John were really great and made us feel really welcome in their home. We had a very peaceful rested sleep in comfort and the breakfast was delicious. The B and B is very remote but if you are city dwellers like us looking for a quiet getaway then it's great. Elaine went out of her way to help us! I would recommend this place to anyone.
Pleasant owners, good welcome, extremely clean, comfortable and tidy. Breakfast very good. Other guests were friendly too. I have no complaints at all.
Where to begin? I already miss "my" room at Mavisburn... Elaine and her husband John truely are good people, careful, nice, they helped me to continue my journey over Scotland too... The room was tiny and confortable(no need for a bigger one if you're on your own I believe, I felt great there.), the reception was great too, so were the breakfasts... Eating with the sun rising up on the Highlands just in front of you... what else could I expect?! Well, I enjoyed these two nights and days in Mavisburn b&b, Walkers, just go there, you won't regret it!!! To be honest? Nothing!!!!!
The owners Elaine and John were the kindest couple and looked after me very well. They treated me like family and it was just lovely. The room was small, clean and well appointed. The bathroom was across the hall, but was mine completely. No WIFI available, but they allow visitors to use their personal desktop to check emails and whatnot. It is back in the woods 2 1/2 miles from the town of Ft. Augusta, but just call John and he will guide you to the B & B and then you will see that it is all right turns to town and all lefts back home. Just when you think you are lost, keep going and you will find it.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and cosy and breakfast was nice too. There was no table for the single room occupant at breakfast. I had to join three strangers at breakfast. Not a biggie but still... Also I could not pay with visa, so I had to drive 3 miles to town to find a cash machine.
Its situation near the canal. The friendness of the personal.
Extremely friendly staff, quiet but central location, and a very good breakfast!!
Very nice people, warm welcome and great attention to our entire group.
very friendly staff . nice comfortable amenities, easy to find and well located for resturants and pubs
Location, brilliant starting point to see the great glen and Carol the owner she made us feel very welcome.
Our lovely host.
The friendliness of the owner and the qualityof the room and the breakfast
Carol and Mark were extremely welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The berakfast was excellent. I would both recommend this B & B and will probably revisit.
Carol is great and so friendly, the room was lovely as was the scenery
The price is about the best in town, but if you are looking for a hotel style b&b, this is not it. This feels more like staying with relatives. The owner is a very nice older woman, and she makes a good breakfast for you. The ensuite bathroom wasn't really ensuite, we had our own bathroom, but you had to go into the hall to use it, so you would need to get dressed to use it at night, etc.
It's the best B&B I've stayed in. Room very comfortable, warm & clean, lovely bathroom (+ soap, shower gel, shampoo etc), kettle + drinks stuff + an outstanding location. The landlady (Carol) was a great personality + we didn't feel like anything was a chore for her. She was great - we recommend it very highly.
An excellent location, staff were helpful and friendly, the room was spotless and comfortable and I thought the home made cookies, given out at the checkout was a lovely touch. We will return and we will recommend the hotel to friends N/A
Surpassed our expectations
The Lovat Arms Hotel was a pleasure to stay in, the hotel staff clearly take pride in what must be new branding and new image of this hotel. The bedroom we stayed in was fresh, bright and had the finishing touches to make it as comfortable as possible.
The room was lovely, the staff were friendly, the food was outstanding and the location was ideal.
View of the Loch Ness, Nice airy room. Nope it was good.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Lovat. The hotel has been restored to an excellent standard, and the staff were very helpful.
Recently renovated and upgraded to an exceptionally high standard, the accomodation was extremely comfortable. The proprietors have achieved a remarkable, eclectric compromise between installing the modern, yet have lovingly renovated and retained many of the original period features. Excellent hospitality. The staff are so wonderfully attentive that, on occasion, we felt a little smothered.(In particular, at the table) We did appreciate that staff training was in progress at the time of our stay.
good clean hotel bit pricey dearest in area but it met all our needs so no complaints no
Fantastic food and surroundings; comfortable beds Very hard to control room temperature in the lodges - our room was very hot and stuffy during the night and due to midges/security we felt we couldn't sleep with the window open - maybe the cleaners could ensure windows are left open all day to air vacant lodges. I would stay in the main building next time. Maybe the management would also consider reserving the parking spaces outside the lodges for the lodge occupiers as headlights shine right into the rooms if others come and go for the restaurant late in the evening.
