smelly bedding and cloudy green hot tub
The sheets, pillows, comforter and the bed cover all smelled really, really bad of Body Odour. We were out late and when I crawled into bed I smelled it, it was so bad I had a hard time sleeping. I slept with one pillow that didn't smell and on one side of the bed. In the morning I stripped it right down including comforter and bed cover and let the front desk staff know. She did have housekeeping go in, but the comforter still smelled so bad the next night that I had to turn it around to a spot that didn't smell. In the morning when I mentioned it to the front desk she told me it could be from the fragrance free detergent that is used rather than Body Odour. My friend was in the other bed and it was fine. The other thing was the hot tub looked a little suspect with a cloudy green look to it. Against my better judgment I went in. For the next several weeks I had a rash on the lower part of my legs and a little on my arms. Since I had booked a guaranteed rate room, I was not able to be discounted for my stay. I travel a lot and I am not one to complain but I couldn't let this go by without mentioning it.
Nothing special. You get what you pay for…
Breakfast was really weak
All Good Until Checkout Time
I liked the location, the included breakfast, comfy beds, clean room, fridge and microwave, and friendly check-in.
While checking out, two staff members behind the counter had somewhat of a disagreement. The male employee was disrespectful and condescending to the female right in front of us at the desk, even though the female was trying to help us at one point. It was awkward and unprofessional. I had a question about an extra $100 hold that had been put on my credit card (seemingly) by the hotel. I couldn't really get a final answer from them about the issue until the male employee stopped angrily saying to the female employee, "I'VE GOT THIS," and actually let her help solve the problem.
Toilet hadn't been flushed and showed evidence of not being used (room not used?) for some time. Both rooms we had (King suites) were over the swimming pool on 2nd floor and smelled of chlorine, and were very hard to dehumidify and get comfortable. We were unable to relocate as the place was booked full. Front desk folks said the manager would contact us. Never happened.
The young man who checked me in was helpful and friendly. Clean room with refrigerator and coffee machine. Although hotel was probably a little older, it appeared that the carpet and decor in my room was updated. Liked that the arm chair in the room could recline. Breakfast with pretty good mix of hot and cold items. I stayed here for one night to attend the Vera Bradley Outlet sale in Ft. Wayne. It was conveniently located and great for this purpose.
Very tiny closet, but room was great for the purpose of my visit.
