Pros: We especially enjoyed the bar and restaurant. Great bartenders and everyone was very friendly. We love to stay at this hotel on our way up north.
Pros: From the street and Internet, a very cute and appealing historical hotel. The lobby looked period and I was excited for my stay. It went downhill from there.
Cons: It took me going in the pub after 10 minutes of bell ringing to find someone who could check me in. The shower had rust and mold. Was told Continental breakfast would be set up in am. Not so. Front desk person told us they decided no breakfast since only one lady was staying there. I was the lady. She did offer to get mne something from the back, but I overheard her griping to the cook that now she had to do everything because breakfast had not been put out. Did not feel welcome here at all.
Pros: Great location, historic building, and authentic interior features of a bygone era. The staff are courteous and helpful.
Cons: Bedding and furniture are tired and there is no sitting area to speak of, and no chairs in the smaller rooms. The continental breakfast is spartan. You can order breakfast but this wasn't really clear and there were no wait staff around.
Pros: The location was a perfect halfway break in our road trip. The staff was friendly, and the food in the restaurant and pub was solid and reasonably priced. This is a great place to enjoy the Shenandoah Valley on a budget.
Pros: Entering the hotel is like stepping back in time. All the furnishings, the décor, and the ambiance call back to a more genteel time. Even down to the worn chenille bedspread and hand made quilt. We are used to traveling using "modern" motel chains. This was a pleasant break. And since it was our wedding night after 34 years of being together and finally being able to legally celebrate our love, it was especially appreciated. The staff was wonderful.
Cons: No elevator. Couldn't stay more than one night due to difficulty traversing stairs.

There's also a garden, and rooms at this historic hotel offer balconies and Select Comfort beds.
Pros: Quiet location away from highway. Above average free breakfast.
Cons: Strong smell of cleaning in hallway. Room was fine.
Pros: Friendly, efficient staff very responseI've and breakfast was good
Pros: The continental breakfast was varied, fresh and well stocked.
Pros: The room was satisfactory for sleeping..
Cons: The actual amenities did not match the description. There were only 5 overall passes to the pool in the separate location. After waiting, we did get a pass but when we went, the pool was not in satisfactory condition. There was very little lighting; there was an empty jacuzzi that was being used as a garbage can -- filled with wrappers and empty bottles. the changing room smelled awful and was not clean. My daughter accurately described it as something out of a scooby doo mystery. We came back to try the arcade except that nothing worked. Only one of the ice machines worked in the entire building. After visiting the pool and being the only one brave enough to go under the water, I became violently ill during the night. I can't say for certain that it was the pool, but i feel that it was pretty likely. We will not be visiting this hotel again.
Pros: Clean, comfortable. Great value for the price. Needed a last minute place to stay for the night, it was just what we were looking for.
Cons: Hallway and elevator smelled a little of smoke.
Cons: I didn't like that all the elevators smell like cigarette smoke

Pros: The Staff was great...very friendly and professional
Cons: the A/C did not work, Knob was broken as well...Fridge and Micro-wave did not work either...the a/c was fixed but the other items still did not work.. the soda machine was out of order so we had to go to the gas station.. the breakfast was not good.
Pros: Location, quick check in and out.
Cons: Rooms smelled like cigarettes despite being a non smoking hotel. The 2nd room smelled significantly less than the 1st but was tolerable. The floor was sticky in spots & the beds felt like they were slightly damp like you were sleeping on an air mattress.
Cons: AC and fridge in the room was broken. Staff told us they were booked and maintenance person is not bailable. They did upgraded us to a suite the next day but the toilet didn't flush and we had to get inside the tank to flush it every time.
Pros: good location for travel route
Cons: wi-fi did not work, television did not work, tried calling front desk 3times, no answer, went down, no one there (10:45pm) even after waiting a while..one of 2 lamps in room not working
Cons: had a dog friendly room which had an odor we could not get rid of. knobs on AC were broken off.
Pros: Clean & quiet (even while full)
Cons: Crummy breakfast. Just bagels & coffee
Pros: room was large, clean.
Cons: hard to determine what the charge was. I was told one thing at the desk, another on the phone, receipt different. At least the receipt as far as I can tell was the lowest.
Pros: It has large parking area and walking distance to Mcdonalds and a convenience store. The room is solid and the pool is fine for our purposes. We have an Autistic son who loves to swim/splash. The staff is accommodating and extremely pleasant.
Cons: Nothing really. This was our second time there and they are improving it little by little. The breakfast could be a little better with maybe hot foods. For the price it is fine. We will visit again in the spring.
Pros: I have no complaints! Room was clean, comfortable & roomy. Staff was VERY friendly. Easy access from interstate. Best hotel coffee I've ever had.
Cons: Not a thing.
Cons: Finally after being given 2 completely dirty bed covers we finally were given a mostly clean one. The smell in the air was stuffy and unpleasant in the room. The smell in the hallway was unbearable. Clean it and air it out.
Pros: Reasonable price, wish it was a bit cheaper for a no frills motel
Cons: Staff seemed tired, maybe they're worked too hard?
