9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, very friendly and helpful staff. I upgrade from a shared room to a private room without any problems. Breakfast can be booked short-thermed. One day it was raining and one of the staff members lend her private poncho to me. They are very easy going. I loved my stay there.
Cons: It can be a bit noisy if the room is facing the street but if you close it there's no problem.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: To far from station and convenience store
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was absolutely amazing! Spotless clean and beautiful. We loved the tatami flooring and the futon beds! Granola breakfast was lovely, we went for the matcha one. The hostel provides towels and toiletries. After previously exploring Tokyo for a few days, this place was perfect to relax. I wish we could stay longer than just one night! Amazing view of Mount Fuji just outside the hostel, from the street, as well a short walk to the Chureito Pagoda (around 15mins). We were very lucky with the weather and got a beautiful view of the mountain at the evening and in the morning too :) Hostel staff is amazing! The lady that checked us in was very helpful and we got a map with recommendations of shopping and restaurants. We went to Izumiya restaurant for dinner, it was delicious, such a cosy place! The bakery is really lovely too and we also visited the tea shop. Fujiyoshida is a small place and lovely to explore all the little streets, if you’re staying here longer, it might be worth taking a bike trip to Lake Kawaguchiko too. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, it was so, so nice! Thank you!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was an extremely clean hostel and had everything you need! It has this nice and neat Japanese design feeling and the staff was very considerate and helpful. Strongly recommend if you go to Fujiyama area.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Machiko-san is eager to wait for me on my 2nd visit last April 21-22. It's nice to be back with her hostel. There are lot of improvements in the hostel. Private room is already provided and larger lounge area for guests to mingle. I like the idea of putting our names in the world map. It was surreal! :) I have seen my friends name which I recommend last Autumn and Summer 2017. My name is now close to theirs. Hahaha... She even showed to us how to prepare and tea ceremony as requested by Sinan, Germany. He is more interested to understand the Japanese culture and traditions. He has the luxury of time to explorer Japan. Wishin' to have the same hahaha.... but still grateful to be granted a long working holiday here. I love the old trail going up to Fujisan (Fujiyoshida Sengen Shrine). It was so beautiful shrine entrance going to the mountain. It was indeed commendable as advise by Machiko-san since I was not able to go the Shibazakura Festival (30% flower bloom). Strolling around Fuji-Yoshida area at the same getting lost hahaha before I found myself back to hostel. Thank you again Machiko-san for the sumptuous lunch and sweet & sour mango dessert with ice cream for a humid day. See you again next visit with friends and longer time to chat! :) Arigatou Gozaimasu, Machiko-san!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just wonderful! I went to the hostel around 7pm, owner meet me and helped with everything. She even explained to me how to climb Fuji and made special amulet for me! And to be honest I didn't tried everything that was included. So I am totally recommend this place for stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was incredibly helpful! The location is great, only 15 mins walk from Fujisan station (where you can leave luggage). The place was very clean.

Pros: Machiko, the host who lives on the property (in her own house) is the friendliest person I have met in Japan. She is a world traveler herself so she knows what her guests want!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Host was very knowledgeable, spoke good English and was so lovely! The facilities are in perfect condition and the place is immaculately clean! I had a very nice stay here and would come back again!

Pros: Very good place to stay if you want to discover Fuji San Area. The owner is very nice and helpful, and took a lot of time to discuss with us. You can have your meal in or outside the house. Pros: The beauty of the garden, then the beauty inside the house: wooow we were in Japan! And so close to the Mount Fuji. Don't miss the place!

Pros: A nice experience overall. Do not expect luxury, the place is quiet humble. Taeko the host is kind and went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. Never slept in a futon, I slept swimmingly. Location wise is five stars as withings 5 to 10 minutes walk from Mount Fuji's bus station and main shops.
Cons: No meals available, Taeko's English is very basic but we managed to communicate via a translating app on her phone. No air conditioning. Shared bathrooms.

Pros: Host was very friendly and the inn is a beautiful traditional Japanese house. The beds were super comfy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The surrounding is great, the bedroom is traditional style and i like it a lot, everything is neat and comfy and the owner gave us some snack everyday (i stayed for 2 days).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place, very comfortable mattresses, beautiful garden that is great to wake up to (highly recommend garden view).
Cons: English is a bit difficult but the hostess is very nice and accommodating. Just don't expect to have many questions answered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The gardens and inn were beautiful. If you are looking for a traditional Japanese stay, this is it. Taeko kindly picked us up from the station since we got in late due to the roads being closed after Typhoon Hagibis. She also introduced us to her very cute dog! We were in close walking distance to the station and Shinto shrines, which made exploring Fujiyoshida easy.
Cons: It was very cloudy during our 3 day trip, so we did not get to see Mt. Fuji. :( Of course no one had control over this part.
7.5 Good
Pros: The main house is about 300 years old but the apartment we stay was another house next to the main house. The garden is small but very Japanese style.
Cons: There is no WiFi and air-conditioning in the house. However, with a fan, it is not really hot.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Traditional atmosphere, sleeping on tatamis next to a beautiful garden. Its amazing. Friendly and helpful owner
Cons: The rooms are really close to each other and you feel uneasy while moving just to avoid making any noise
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional and charming place to stay, in a must-see place around Mt.Fuji. The Ryokan lets you experience something that you could not experience while staying in a hotel. Beautiful garden, spacious, stylish interior and details that make this house so much more than just a place to sleep. The host was incredibly nice, we received a delicious ice coffee and a map of the city, together with an explanation about the most popular places and good restaurants.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners are very nice and helpful
Cons: A bit far from center, better suited for travellers with car
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The little hotel is tucked away in a very quiet neighborhood towards the edge of Fujiyoshida. It's peaceful and very cute, with amazing mountain views all around. We were able to park and check in with no problem, and our host gave us a map pointing out local restaurants within walking distance since we checked in around dinner time. They asked about our plans in Fujiyoshida and if we needed them to take us to the local train station in the morning (free of charge!). They will also explain how to lay out and use futons if you have never used them before. Breakfast is really cute, very simple onigiri with miso soup and a small salad, with lots of green tea. We were also given a map of the local area and because we visited during Fujiyoshida's famous annual fire festival, he showed us all the streets that would be closed, suggested alternative driving routes, showed us parking spots, and strongly suggested we visit the festival (which I suggest to you too)! The bathing rooms in the onsen are small and cozy. There are two which are both unisex so you can use either, but our group was asked to use the bathroom all at once, so if you are not comfortable with group showers, be aware (or wait til late at night). The hot spring was very warm but not uncomfortable and the perfect way to wind down after riding roller coasters or hiking all day.
Cons: Parking lot is very cute but a little cramped so make sure to let them know if you plan to drive!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly stuff, pick up at the train station, good location for hiking in the neighborhood of Mt. Fuji
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place and wonderful hosts!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were amazing helping us by driving us to and from the nearest stations as well as helping us plan our future trip after leaving. The facilities and room were also nice with breakfast included.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff very nice ! And i love this place. ❤️

7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely property. Lots of amenities. Wonderful Onsen.
Cons: Some stuff very unhelpful and gave misleading information on travel during typhoon and wanted to charge a fortune to stay extra night. A lovely hotel but a very disappointing end to our stay there.
7.4 Good
Pros: The Onsen (Sauna) on the property was quite nice. Part of amusement park. If you take the train, you have to walk through the park, there is no easy way to walk. We tried.
Cons: English, someone should speak English if they want tourists.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Typhoon Hagibis blasting at our 11th floor window for 2 days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location! The hotel is right next to the bus stop and gives you easy access to Fuji Q Highlands! We arrived a day earlier than our planned Fuji Q day and with free park entry (the rides cost money) scoped out all the rides we wanted to do for the day after and were able to plan things out. If you are planning on going to Fuji Q Highlands the 15 minute early access and discounted ticket purchase from the hotel concierge is a huge advantage!! Complimentary access to the Onsen next door was also a bonus! There is also a free shuttle bus from the hotel which gets you around some transport hubs and sights around the Fuji lakes area.
Cons: Did not have access to a complimentary ice machine as well as bottled water (unless booking the deluxe rooms/suites).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view from our window.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The room was clean and the view we finally got was nice.
Cons: We took a train in to the hotel, the only train that goes to the hotel. The train arrived at 9:46pm. The last scheduled shuttle bus from the train to the hotel was scheduled at 9:45pm. We called to ask if they would wait a couple minutes for us and they would not accommodate our request so we had to take a taxi. We booked a room with a view and when we got there they said the type of room we booked doesn’t have a view. They made us pay almost $100 more for a room with a view.
7.1 Good
Pros: On-site onsen Views Surroundings Choice of restaurants
Cons: Couldn't see Fuji Some people may not like the fact that there are no clothes alllowed in the onsen

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I don't even know what to start with, it was everything excellent, especially because of our two hosts! They made our stay fantastic! They are very kind and ready to fulfill your requests. Both the breakfast and the dinner were homemade Japanese food, that the hosts were cooking it right there for you. It was delicious! Plus that, on clear days, you could see Mt. Fuji while having your breakfast! They helped us with recommendations around, we had nice chat together and we can say it was one of our best stay in Japan! The room was so nice and it was very funny to stay in a tent in a room, a very special experience. Even if it was a bit cold, we were given a heater and had no problem at all. The bathroom was clean and spacious, as well as the bath&shower room. We were on our honeymoon and we concluded that when they will come on their honeymoon in Europe, we will meet again!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: My room really have the mt fuji view... Its magnificent... But do make sure u book the right room... Its the room with 2 traditional japan bedding... The room doesn't have air con but there is a fan, which u can move it around... Very comfy and clean room, there is insect netting for one of the window so i kept it open, no insect or mosquito came in... Owner was very friendly.. Bus wasn't a problem as there are shuttle bus nearby
Cons: I was there in sept where the weather is cold... Not sure what its like in summer... There is only 1 shower and 2 toilets... When i was there, there wasn't many guest so there isn't any problem
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed here with my dad for two nights. Eventhough we didn't get to climb mount Fuji, we get to sleep in a tent with the wall painted as if we are in the forest. My father really like to stay in the camp and this is a really great place for us. We get to explore the surrounding area with the rental bicycle and there's a lot of eating places around this area. The information that we get to reach the place is really helpful as well. The cute dog name OPO is very friendly! I'd love to come here again with friends sometime in spring next time!
Cons: There's only 1 bathroom in this place but we cannot shower before 7am as there is no hot shower before 7am.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Incredible location, stunning view of Mt Fuji (attached photo was taken from our room), close to Fuji-Q Highland. Very handy to be able to rent bikes cheaply from the property. Lots of good restaurants to walk to nearby.
Cons: The futons are a bit thin in the Japanese style bedroom (I still slept well), and the chairs in the kitchen/lounge were pretty uncomfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We liked the cleanliness of the guest-house - impeccable. There is a 7-Eleven and a Family Mart close to the guest-house and a MacDonald's and a KFC at a distance of 5 minutes walk. Fujikyu is less than a kilometer away (one can hear the shouts of excitement!). And our room had a wonderful view of Fujisan. We wish to visit again!
Cons: ummm ...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I had a whole room for myself and even though it had only 3 beds, whereas normally it'd be like 6 beds in such room. The common room with kotatsu was superb - you could eat, drink and sit in warm, while observing nature and especially Fuji-san in the evening. There was nothing missing regarding the bathroom - you could use shower and bathtub after washing yourself. 7-eleven and FamilyMart were like 3 minutes from property if you needed something to eat. Overall, great place!
Cons: It was a little cold in the rooms, but nothing that heater could take care of. The guesthouse is also a little far from the attractions (beside Fuji Q Highland), but on the other hand you were nearer the Mt. Fuji.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing! It is very easy to find and the nicest lady will check you in. She doesn't speak any English, but it doesn't matter at all. Google translate does a good job. The rooms are big and you can even see mount Fuji:)
Cons: There is only one sink in the kitchen and if it is your first time in japan there is no English guide for the air conditioner.
6.7 Good
Pros: The lady who ran the accomodation was lovely, and it was really close to the station!
Cons: Unfortunately there were just no comforts to the accomodation, and we had to carry our suitcases which were very heavy up and down stairs. Thankfully we were only staying for one night, so the no towels, tea, coffee etc wasn’t TOO much of an issue.
6.3 Good
Pros: superb and convenient location to most of the attractions around Fuji.
Cons: The toilet is outside the propert, that’s tough when travel with kids.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Expedia was very helpful. I would have been screwed without expedia.
Cons: Making the effort of going elsewhere
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely lady and great location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, near Bus station, easy access
Cons: None
Nakano - Fujiyoshida - Bedroom
12
8.2 Excellent (86 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Nakano in Fujiyoshida, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Fuji-Q Highland and Lake Kawaguchi. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.1 Good
Pros: This hotel is super close to Fuji-Q Highland, you can walk there in less than 30 minutes. The staff is nice and the room is very spacious and clean.
Cons: Japanese style toilet is a nightmare! If you’re not used to using one, it’s very difficult and not enjoyable. You have to pay in cash, I didn’t have enough so I had to walk to 7-eleven which was 10 minutes away. You can also hear everything from Fuji-Q Highland such as announcements and fireworks from the room (but that is because it’s so close). If there is someone above your room walking around, it sounds like the house is falling down. The bed (especially the pillow) is very uncomfortable if you’re not used to sleeping in a Japanese style floor bed. Consider bringing your own pillow. They also make you bring your own towel. Overall, if you want somewhere super close to Fuji-Q Highland and want to experience true Japanese style hotel, it’s okay. But you’ve been warned.
7.9 Good
Pros: The owners and staff were so lovely. Really going out of their way for us.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I usually don’t do the review, but in this case I really would like to say thank you for the owner and his nephew! The place is very near for Fuji-Q Park. It’s old, I think the hotel is a family heritage, this is just a detail. The staff was very kind and helpful, the owner provided a free ride to Fuji bus station where I was able to take the bus to Fuji mountain! I felt like an extension of my home! The owner’s nephew provided a fully detailed information about the best places to go, saving my time!
Cons: The property it’s a quite a bit old but it’s good!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner is such a lovely man. We came back one day from being up a very cold Mt Fuji and he had turned the heating on for when we got back and left a flask of hot water.
Cons: Nothing to do with the place itself but there was nothing open in a 4k radius. Don't know whether it was time of year but it was hard to find places open to eat at night. There is a big supermarket though if you want to eat in.

7.5 Good
Pros: There are quite many of restaurants around. Curry, ramen, Gyu-don, Japanese restaurant and KFC.
Cons: Considered a bit far because it takes 20 mins from Fujisan station if you walk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here after climbing Mount Fuji. Perfect for what we needed.
7.9 Good
Pros: Our room faced Mt. Fuji according to the direction on the map but we were unable to see it and be sure because we got cloudy days. If it had been a clear sky I’m almost certain we would have been able to see it. We had short interactions with the staff but the little we had was enough to see they were attentive.
Cons: Beds were a bit too hard. We booked a smoking room and compared to other hotels we stayed at that also had a smoking room it smelled a bit too much of tobacco, perhaps because they don’t use as much air freshener as the other (if at all). Some of the plugs in the room didn’t work. It’s a bit outdated for the price but I guess they charge that much considering the location (direct view to the mountain on a clear say)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Room was great in every way
Cons: Honestly wasn't much happening in the area to be honest.
7.5 Good
Pros: The place was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
Cons: They were freindly and helpful but had little or no english.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and restaurant, which is attached to the hotel. My husband used the sento, he said it was amazing!
Cons: I myself was disappointed not being able to use the sento due to having tattoos. It would have been very relaxing and helped ease the aches and soreness from climbing Mt Fuji. Also we booked a non-smoking room which smelt of cigarette smoke. It smelt even smokier after we returned from our hike. We didn't use the elevator as it smelt of cigarette smoke as well.

Pros: Quiet.. very peaceful place.
Cons: I've booked for this room 2-3 days before my arrival.. and to be able to eat in the hotel restaurant, you need to book your room + dinner at least 1 week ago.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were excellent, courteous and always had a smile. No request was any trouble. The food was excellent along with the service, especially the young woman who looked after us during our meals. The view of Mt.Fuji outside our room was wonderful.
Cons: The hotel is showing its age with threadbare carpet in the hallway and many mark's, stains and scrapes on walls. I think it markets itself as a prestige hotel but this is not reflected in the decor.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view of Mt. Fuji
Cons: Hotel is very outdated
6.7 Good
Pros: Fantastic accommodating staff. They took us a lot of places in the shuttle because there were not many things close by. No restaurants, shops, etc. It was quiet and peaceful. Spa was nice.
Cons: Nothing around and you had to take a taxi or shuttle everywhere.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The hotel staff provided great hospitality. Upon arrival, there was a staff helping us to carry all the baggages to our room. There was one night we're coming back late which was over the dinner time, the staff were kind enough to serve us the dinner after 8.30p.m. There was also one morning which we not manage to go for breakfast before 9:00a.m. (breakfast closure time). There was one staff called to our room and asked us to come as soon as possible and waited us to finish our breakfast. We met one staff who able to speak English quite fluent here. He was an exchange student to Barcelona last time. He provided great service. Overall, the food served here was satisfactory, especially the Japanese traditional type of food. Sashimi considered fresh and the desserts were nice.
Cons: We would like to try Ryokan and Onsen, also to view the Mt. Fuji, that's why we chosen hotel nearby Mt. Fuji. The price we paid for was not the most expensive among hotels nearby but not cheap too. We're a little bit disssapointed that we're unable to view Mt. Fuji from this hotel. Cleanliness of this hotel was our greatest concern. We found out that the toilet of our Ryoken was with urine smell and we requested an immediate cleaning. However, suspected the urine stain was on the toilet wall because the staff cleaned the toilet bowl and did spraying but the smell was still there. We went to have a look on their kids playground and public bathrooms. Seriously the condition was not satisfactory. We saw some mold and stain on the ceiling/ wall. We don't feel comfortable trying their public bathrooms. We felt that the condition of this hotel requires an upgrage/ renovation.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room view with Mount Fuji is very beautiful. Delicious dinner. Staff is very nice and helpful. Comfortable bed and large room.
Cons: Locate far away from the station. You have to ask them to pick you up or take a taxi. The facilities are a little bit old.
7.1 Good
Pros: Rooms were a good size and very comfortable.
Cons: No restaurant available the evening we stayed. As the hotel is some distance from the nearest town this was very inconvenient and not advertised on the web site.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to Mt.Fuji Station Spacious room The man who helped us check-in was very accommodating.
Cons: No close convenient store. We had to walk 15-20mins to a nearest 7-11. Little to no lights outside the hotel during the night. It can be really creepy and unwelcoming. If youre arriving late, like we did (Arrived at 11pm) Their lobby is on 3rd floor and from the main floor, take the elevator to 3rd floor. We took the stairs to get to 3rd floor ( Dont know why, we were panicking/creeped out)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view of Mt. Fuji by the window is unforgettable.
Cons: There’s no menu for breakfast so we paid for 3person without knowing what we will eat in the morning. My partner dont eat those kind of breakfast so we wasted money. The room has some trash under the bed, like empty bottles and tissue didnt clean up.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Easy access to both Fuji-Q station and Kawaguchiko station.
