I was told my reserved car wasn’t there when I arrived and they would have to give me one car now and then in a few hours we would exchange it for my reserved car. Although I am really thankful they came to me to exchange rather than me coming to them, the car they exchanged for was all beat up on the outside with dents and scratches and you couldn’t see through the back window or the back window on the driver side so my friend kept having to roll the window up and down to see the views. It just didn’t look like a nice car especially compared to the one they first gave me. Not even 24 hours after I got the car, the check engine light came on. I took it back to see if they could fix it or give me another one because I didn’t feel safe driving it like that, and a guy from the company next door called GreenMotion because they weren’t in the office to ask about it. And he told me that it’s fine and not to worry about it.. that there was a 98% chance nothing would happen. I told him I would like a phone number in case of that 2% chance something did happen. And he just told me to take a picture of the phone number for GreenMotion. Wasn’t super happy with this experience. Luckily the car did last me through the whole trip with no issues, but I probably wouldn’t rent from GM again.Reviewed Jun 2 2023

Horrible. Green motion discriminates against active and retired members of the armed forces. Would not rent to my husband and I due to his work as a military reservist. Would also not offer a price freeze (even though this was completely their fault) on the rate I had booked months prior. The rate they were going to offer me in person was $4000 more than what I pre-paid. They left us stranded at the Edinburgh airport. The lady before me in line also got scammed with an additional $1200 in fees upon pickup. DO NOT RENT.Reviewed May 30 2023

The car was clean when we picked it up and the staff was friendly. The tire light indicator was on in my dashboard but I was told the sensor was defective and giving off false signals. Overall though, good experience with Green Motion where they offer a good “bang for your buck”.Reviewed May 29 2023

Our experience with Green Motion was excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient at both pick up and drop off locations. Our Yaris hybrid was perfect for exploring Scotland. Value for money was excellent too. Smooth experience with this car rental agency from start to finish - we will differentially look for them as a car rental agency in the future and recommend them to others!Reviewed May 27 2023

Paid for the rental car online in full, had to take 2 shuttles from the airport to pick up, once got there I had to pay an additional $100 to purchase their insurance even though I have full cover insurance through my insurance company that covers rental cars. It was not disclosed in advance that I needed a minimum of $300,000 of insurance. I could have rented from well known rental places for cheaper than it cost and only would have had to taken one shuttle. The deposit was $500 instead of the usual $200-$300 deposit that most rental companies charge, because the deposit is equivalent to what your insurance deductible is. Makes no sense, if I had to purchase their insurance already anyway. The vehicle was dirty with food and footprints on the ceiling. The customer service reps were nice and friendly though, but overall not a good rental experience.Reviewed May 25 2023

I had a flat tire during my trip. Roadside assistance was great, and I was able to get someone to put on a spare quickly. I wish more guidance had been given on what to do when a flat occurs. I drove to the closest tire place (Kwik Fit in Oban) that could change the tire. They told me Green Motion didn’t have an account with them, so I’d be responsible for the cost. I’d paid for the premium insurance when I picked up the car, and was told I’d be reimbursed for any work that needed to be done. When I returned the car, I offered up the receipt for reimbursement, but was told I could not be paid back because the tire was not a “premium brand.” I wish I’d been told this detail when I picked up the car originally because I just had to eat the cost of the tire. This rental car company falsely charged me for fuel, even though I turned it in with more than it started with. They told me everything was good to go when I turned the car in and handed me the phone to sign without the report in view. I didn't worry about it, because he told me all was well, but found later that he recorded the fuel below the correct level and then tried to charge me for it.Reviewed May 21 2023
