Pros: The staff here were absolutely spectacular, they went out of there way to ensure our stay in Hanoi was an amazing one! Consistently they helped without asking, even so far as to escort us to the train station to make sure our tickets for an overnight train had arrived and everything was in order.

Cons: The hotel is advertised as being the oldest and fanciest hotel in Hanoi. We splurged and booked a room for one night with a small child. When we arrived, we were told that we would not have a room in the original hotel but would be given a room in the new addition. We needed to pay an extra 60 dollars to stay in the original section. They should make this policy clear to potential guests. We also requested a rollaway bed and they stuck it in the very tight living room, which was about 5 ft wide. The staff at the pool restaurant got our orders wrong--forgot my sons drink, and brought my husband the wrong beer

Pros: Awesome hotel! Greeted by the bellboys and concierge and welcomed with tea and fresh fruit. Good location with everything in walking distance. The room is great and was recently renovated with a rain shower head in which I could easily stay in for an hour. Breakfast is great that ranges from pho, sushi, yogurt to your choice of eggs. Hotel has a nice rooftop bar that overlooks the city. Massage services are good just make sure to make a reservation early. Laundry services are excellent too, comes delivered to your room folded and packaged. Ling is great and was coordinated our tour to Ninh Binh with our excellent tour guide Alex. She also made our cruise to Ha Long Bay effortless and smooth. Definitely recommended as you will not regret staying at this hotel.
Cons: An elevator connecting to the top floor avoiding the narrow stairwell up one flight.

Pros: The room and restaurant were top notch but what made La Siesta stands out was its staff. We had trouble with a tour booking (separate from the hotel) and they helped us call repeatedly to negotiate pick up times and payment. They took care of our luggage in switching to a different hotel after the tour too. It made travel easy and they treated us like family. Had we known, we would never have changed our hotel when we're came back to hanoi. Hands down, would recommend as a first pick.

Pros: I travelled with two of my friends. Since the time we arrived until we left that hotel, the staffs were awesome. * The rooms are super clean and very modern designs. * The staffs are genuinely positive individuals and very helpful with anything from tours and extended for our stay. * Very professional and fancy Hotel. * The food was sooo good, their breakfast was everything, specially their sweet yogurt.

Pros: The staff are extremely helpful and cannot do enough for you. They make you feel both very welcome and as if you are with very close friends. It is a great location close to the Old Town. Breakfast extremely varied -- European and Asian dishes on offer -- plenty of it and very good value for money.
Cons: The hotel is trapped in a time warp and exhibits all that is hideous about 1970s decor. Both decor and facilities could do with a makeover. Faded splendour comes to mind. Like many hotels in the Far East they are smoking rooms and there is nothing on either hotel booking websites or the hotel's website to warn you of this. I booked what I thought was a non-smoking room and only after a great deal of fuss was transferred to a non-smoking room. Their should be a very clear advice if booking a room it is a smoking room you are booking.
