Not class reservedCons:They didn’t have any mid-size suvs—the class we had reserved. Tried to rent us large 10 passenger van instead, which was unacceptable. Eventually manager became involved and we settled on Ford Galaxy which they told us was our only other option without paying much more.Reviewed Dec 10 2018

Just okayPros:Car rental facility, once you find it, is pretty close to the terminals, with rapid bus service.Cons:Dropoff procedure at Manchester Airport was slow (10 minutes to get car checked in, due to understaffing) and not terribly friendly.Reviewed Sep 17 2018

Unpleasant drop offPros:No queue.Cons:Agent was nitpicking at drop off. He focused on Minor wear and tear I could not even have seen at pickup because the car park was too dark. I was not charged, but it made me feel very uncomfortable and delayed my departure.Reviewed Jul 21 2018

Cons:I’m from the US and when the car was returned 30 min late because I was lost, I was charged another day’s rental. Plus, the insurance rates are too high! I will not rent from Hertz again!Reviewed Jun 13 2018

Why is car rental at British airports so awful?Pros:Car was fine, but lacked any frills.Cons:Heathrow and Manchester seem designed to give the worst possible first impression of the country, and the car rental facilities are the worst of the worst. Have the designers never traveled to a half-decent airport in the US, Asia or Europe? Poor signage (also at Gatwick); lousy shuttles; complacent service by people who clearly don't care. This trip was capped by a ridiculous charge for an invisible "dent". The car rental has a veneer of efficiency (e.g. Electronic check-in), but this was a poor and sloppy experience through-and-through.Reviewed Jul 4 2017

Don't trust KayakPros:NothingCons:Hertz refused to release the car at the price quoted by Kayak. Even though I had pre-paid the insurance. I hired a car from Avis at a lot less. Also it seems I am unable to reclaim the pre-paid insurance. Rubbish company.Reviewed Mar 5 2017

Quick & EasyPros:Attendant came right over. Great attitude considering it was before 7 am on a Saturday. No hassles on the turn in checklist. Asked which airline I was flying - told me the terminal - and which shuttle bus to board. That's service !Reviewed Feb 20 2017
