The car I picked up was completely on empty and smelled so badly of Marijuana that it made me sick by the time I returned the vehicle in Orlando. It was also very dirty.
No customer service
Pros:Problem from Kayak, Hertz 800 number helpful, still cost me about 10 more than quoted but customer service agent on phone worked with me to find discounts that would keep almost same price as quoted.
Cons:When I plugged in to rent car from GSO, Kayak did not let me know that they had changed from airport to a location about 15 minutes away. Hertz clerk at GSO airport did nothing to help with this-said it was Kayak's and my problem.
Pros:They didn't have the size care I needed and reserved and paid for.
Pros:I had a terrible experience with Hertz. I got a call 2 hours before my arrival that they were sorry, but they would not have a car for me (even though I had a reservation). Their only solution was to suggest I try another Hertz location. They, too, were out of cars.
Cons:Since the other Hertz was also out of cars, they had NO other ideas. I was just in a new place, needing a car and completely out of luck. Thank goodness for Alamo - they got me all set up and thankfully didn't charge me an outrageous rate.
Pros:Service folks were excellent -- very helpful.
Cons:I only needed to drive from Greensboro to DC. Price seemed pretty high for that -- but sadly was cheaper and better schedule than public transportation.
6pm reservation— no cars for over an hour- didn’t get the car I ordered

Cons:Car could have been immediately ready;car could have been clean;there could have been a refund for unused rental time;The hertz storefront could have been clean and tidy. It looks shabby, unclean and badly needs a paint job.
Pros:Staff at counter(when I finally located the counter which was inconveniently inside the terminal ) was very helpful, pleasant ,and friendly !!!!
Cons:That there was no way to return the car without a walk into the terminal. Instructions on how/where to return were POOR .Sign on unstaffed outdoor kiosk simply said something like "return at rental counter" .Instructions on driving to the rental counter parking lot would have been helpful . Instead , I took a untimeky self directed walking tour of the airport . Any, such is life
