Pros:The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke enough English to help us through the process. Rental instructions were clear.
Cons:We weren't sure where to drop the car off in the parking structure. We randomly parked it and told the staff where we put it. They were fine with that, but we should have parked it on -2 rather than -1...next time we'll know.
Cons:The drop off at Malaga Airport was a bit confusing to find where the Hertz office was. I had to work my way up two floors until I found it. No inspection of the vehicle on drop off - just drop the keys at the office. I like to have a clear indication that everything is fine and I will not receive a surprise charge because they found something after I left.

Cons:Misleading fuel option from the pickup agent. I ended up returning the car with a full tank of gas just to learn I somehow agreed to pay for an entire additional full tank of gas. I expect more from hertz.
Be very careful on car rental pick up and return! We were charged 200 euros for the damage we didn't do! On car return in Barcelona airoport the Hertz employee just took the car keys as he was very busy, didn't check the car with us, we didn't sign ANY papers, and then 2 hours later we're charged 200 euros for the scratch that was already there! But initial car rental report shows the scratch in another place. We even have the pictures and video that we made on car rental day to prove that, but Hertz doesn't care.
Cons:At pick up, explain in detail that the fuel option charge that says “Accepted” on the receipt is just that you’ve if accepted that IF you drop it off less than full there is going to be a fee (receipt is an estimate)—not that you have already been charged or will definitely be charged.
The whole experience at Hertz was like a scam that I would have never expected from Hertz. Upon arrival we were told that there are 2 options: Option A. We pay more that 4x fold for the agreed price and have some insurance on the rented car. Option B. We have 100% risk for the vehicle, and there is no insurance or excess. (there was option C as well, paying appx. 2.5x agreed price with glass and tires insured, and "premium assistance service", BUT - still 100% risk for the car). There was no option to cancel... We ended up taking option A, which is essentially - "the client buys the car at full retail price (13k EUR) at rental and the company agrees to buy it back once the "rental" is over and in case there is no damage." Total cheating, done to a loyal Hertz client for 10+ years. I am not returning to Hertz again and suggest the others not to do that either. As for Kayak - please check what is being offered to the clients...
Cons:I was not given back the deposit for the fuel although I returned the car with full tank (as no one was at the airport to pick up the car so the keys were put in the box)!! Also not even basic insurance is covered in the price which is not common practise. Your site only warns about it within terms and conditions. As you are not providing give full price on rental I will not use the website again
Pros:Car was very comfortable and new. Lots or storage for luggage.
Cons:Car was very thirsty first fill. Gas gauge showed full but was not. Not really the fault of Hertz. Nav system even though the car was new, got us lost several times , good thing for maps. Nav did help on occasion but not sure it was worth the upgrade costs.
