Pros: We love this hotel. It's pricey, but it's right on campus. The beds are so comfortable and the atmosphere is elegant. Wish we had more time to look at (and read about) all the history posted throughout the hotel.
Pros: I liked how it had a lot of Southern charm and depicted graduates of UNC and people who were famous or contributed something historically along the walls of the hallways. The beds were comfortable the room was fairly clean nine out of 10 for that one. They were a bit small however considering the size of the beds it wouldn't have left a lot of room to maneuver if there were multiple people sharing the room. The staff were beyond excellent I cannot say enough great things about the valets in front desk. The business center was just enough to provide what I needed. Lastly the location is ideal for those who would like to walk around the downtown area and explore or grab a bite to eat.
Cons: It could have been a little bit cleaner I just found some photos or debris on the ground in on the beds like it could've been vacuumed just a bit more.
Pros: Location, location, location! Wonderful atmosphere and a great place for alums to run into old friends.
Cons: Room was on the small side.
Pros: The ambience is wonderful.
Cons: I could hear noise from the hallway which made it difficult to sleep soundly. The bed was too soft for me as well.
The Carolina Inn - Destination Hotels & Resorts puts you in a great location, within a 15-minute walk of University of North Carolina and Kenan Stadium. Guests can visit the 24-hour fitness center for a workout or grab a bite to eat at Carolina Crossroads, which serves American cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A bar/lounge and a terrace are other highlights, and rooms at this upscale hotel offer up nice touches like pillowtop beds with premium linens.
Pros: Staff was warm, friendly, helpful
Room was clean & spacious
Price was reasonable
Not far from UNC Chapel Hill
Cons: It didn't have a pool
Pros: Good location. Quiet. Seems popular with locals.
Cons: Not much hot water on our last day. This is a nice place for Chapel Hill but needs to upgrade if it wants to be first class. There are too many pillows in the beds which you have to get rid of to use the bed (kind of dated) and we found the turn down "service" a little intrusive.

The King's Daughters Inn puts you within a 10-minute drive of Duke University. Guests can indulge in massages or reflexology. Rooms at this luxurious bed & breakfast offer up nice touches like bathrobes and memory foam beds with premium linens.
Pros: We were there to attend a family funeral, so not exactly looking for a fun weekend. It was convenient to some family members. And I appreciated the small size. Rooms nice, beds comfy.
Cons: Agree with Valerie...the Bull Durham staff was less than attentive. At that point, it was the first time we'd had to sit down to a decent meal. But we had to flag down wait staff. Had us wondering if it was because we were the only people of color at the Inn who weren't employed by it.
Pros: The hotel facilities and environment
Pros: My husband and I had stayed here before a couple years ago, and now that all of our friends have graduated we need a place to stay in Durham. We like the location (running trail and golf).
Cons: this trip the bar staff were kind of rude and stuffy. It used to be a nice place to get drinks, but the waiter was rude. Also, we reserved a King room months in advance, and they gave us 2 double beds. Their response when I said something "well, the rooms are the same price." My husband and I sleep in the same bed at home, and would like to on vacation. Also, housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:30am.

Pros: Very comfortable needs, great bathroom, easy access from freeway. Everything in good shape. There even have a tiny store where you can buy microwaveable meals and other nonperishable foods.
Cons: Breakfast is a little short on fresh fruits and long on high caloric food.
Pros: What I'd expect from Hampton Inn.
Cons: Hit it at an inconvenient time with reunions. Prices were higher than I would gave like because of this.
Pros: Great breakfast, the staff is super nice and the facilities are in excellent condition.
Cons: The elevator for some weird reason was super hot all the time.

Cons: Nothing of note.
Pros: Everything was incredible!
Magnificent rooms, friendly staff, unbeatable location & decor of the rooms and the hotel itself.

Cons: We were traveling for a college to Chapel Hill for a college visit when I received a call from Expedia. It was less than 40 minutes before check-in time, and I was told the hotel had overbooked. They were canceling my reservation. I had to pull off the interstate to talk with Expedia and change our plans. Thankfully, Expedia was able to find new accommodations for us in a different area of the city.
Pros: I had a studio suite and it seemed quite luxurious. The kitchen was well equipped. The couch was modern and comfortable. The king size bed provided a good night's rest.

Pros: Our family was in town for a wedding (26 people), the snow storm came, the staff accommodated our every request even though they experienced an influx of unexpected guests because of the storm. They were genuinely concerned for our comfort & wellbeing!
Pros: It is very clean and comfortable.
Pros: The bedding is washed after each guest--duvet, etc.
Pros: Clean room, housekeeping doesn't disturb you early in the morning like some hotels, good breakfast except would have preferred the cheese omelet everyday. Front desk friendly and helpful.
Cons: Only served cheese omelet once, we do not eat pork products and scrambled eggs were not very good. Swimming pool is small and with rain, basically unusable during stay.
Pros: Renovations were nice!
Cons: I booked a king bed room, but when I got there, they only had two queen bed rooms.
Pros: Location was good with plenty of restaurants close by.
Cons: Breakfast not up to par with other Hampton Inn locations, fruit tasted bad, juices were watered down to be flavored water, muffins very dry.
Staff very friendly
Pros: Very comfortable and quiet. Nice amenities (breakfast, wifi, etc.)
We had 2 nights booked. 1st night they had no power so we ended up in a room 25 miles away in Chapel Hill. The 2nd night we went back they had given our room away. The main office was useless in trying to get any satisfaction.

Pros: The hotel is just charming! There are swinging chairs on the deck and a beautiful fireplace inside. The hotel looked like it was well-kept. We checked in late and the gentleman helping us was very kind and helpful.
Cons: The location is a little tucked away from downtown, but was easily accessible by car.
Pros: Close to the interstate. Very clean and comfortable.
Cons: The double rooms have double beds, I would prefer queen beds.
Pros: The room was clean and modern. The bed was insanely comfortable and the AC was awesome! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone!
Cons: It would have been nice to have a continental breakfast, but there wasn't anything to complain about. A great stay!
Pros: Clean, quiet, well-furnished.
Pros: Starbucks by the pool
Cons: Lots of traffic for the ballroom rental
Pros: Location is great to get back on the road. The lobby is warm and inviting.
Cons: The hotel floor plan, i.e. elevator location and general traffic flow is confusing for a first-time visitor.
Pros: This hotel room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We arrived late and the gentleman at the front desk greeted us exceptionally and let us know the accommodations that the hotel offers. He also gave us free warm cookies.
Pros: I didn't get a chance to experience the hotel. But from what I did experience the hotel was great. I slept the whole time!! The accommodating breakfast was a bit pricey for their not being a large selection of food.
Cons: Price of food
Pros: Very friendly staff and clean rooms
Pros: well maintained. classy elevators. good cookie. TV worked flawlessly. Remodeled recently. easy check in--no waiting. Not noisy. Negatives: classy natural gas fireplace was lit despite it being 80 degrees. Not environmental but looked good.
Cons: No. If it was closer to my daughters apartment, I'd stay there again in an eye blink.
Pros: Absolutely everything was great!
Cons: Absolutely no-thing!

Pros: I stay there every year and its always clean and friendly. Proximity to Friday center is key
Cons: would like a courtesy coffee they used to have but switched to starbucks. Workout room small but everything not always operational
Pros: They were in the midst of renovation, and our room had updated decor. It felt very clean, and I appreciate the Paul Mitchell products in the shower. Though we had to pay for breakfast, it was delicious. The staff were all very friendly.
Cons: Because they were in the midst of renovation, many of the amenities were unavailable, including the pool.
Pros: The carpet was clean
Cons: When I got there it was tons of contrition going on. They didn't have my reservation so the staff left me outside for 20 minutes in the cold b4 they let me in to make one at 3 in the morning.
Pros: Staff was orderly and respectful.... there was a problem with the T.V. and so they upgraded me to a suite at no additional charge... Courtyard was very professional and accommodating.
Cons: wall mounted hvac
Pros: In town for a wedding, and it was the perfect location close to UNC's campus.
Pros: Staff was super friendly! Quick Uber ride to downtown.
Cons: Although it was close to Chapel Hill, there wasn't really anything within walking distance.
Pros: Very nice staff and well kept
Pros: This was a great experience. The room and staff were great. This was a family Christmas present for my children and grandchildren to be able to go to a UNC basketball game. The location was perfect! Overall, would definitely recommend this hotel.
Pros: Great service with all needs met. Super clean
Cons: Nothing at this time
Pros: Staff were helpful. Room was nice.
Cons: Loud noises from other rooms. Not enough staff for the breakfast area. Very long line. Had to eat elsewhere.
Staff rude. 2nd room not ready until 530pm. No breakfeast with the room. The $11.95 per person breakfast was not fit to eat.
Pros: Not much
Cons: They put my first name in their system as my last name so they told me I did not have a room. Your staff could not speak clear English or understand it. I was on the phone over an hour getting it worked out. You staff was very rude.

Pros: Staff was very friendly, engaging. Front desk did a great job, the breakfast buffet was really great. Everything was stocked, neat and they even had extras that other Hampton Inns don't provide.
Cons: In every corner there is a pile of dust, like it hasn't been vacuumed in 5 years. It's unreasonable amounts of dust. The rooms, bathrooms, etc, are old and shabby. Not exceptional. It needs a deep cleaning and remodeling.
Pros: It was clean and not run down
Cons: It was kinda in a weird spot
Pros: The room layout was big enough to accommodate every need. The bathroom was good size with night light built into the accessories. There was a full length mirror with adequate lighting around it. All staff members were pleasant and charming. Good parking.
Cons: Road signage could be improved, but then most all on N Carolina has signs that are hard to find.
Pros: Staff, Breakfast
Cons: Poor lighting and no makeup mirrors in the bathroom
Pros: Good location, very clean, very quiet, very nice breakfast, nice folks.

Pros: I really enjoyed my stay...everything fit my needs
Cons: Nothing everything was perfect
Pros: Hotel was convenient location. The rooms were clean, and updated. Was very pleased and will stay again when in area.
Cons: No complaints
Pros: Nice breakfast selection and area. Friendly staff.
Cons: The entire room had a very musty smell!
Pros: Very friendly staff, everything was clean, updated, modern. Location was convenient to places we wanted to go.
Cons: pool closed too early
Pros: Quiet. Good Location.
Pros: The hotel was very clean and the front desk gentleman was nice, friendly and helpful, Breakfast was wonderful
Pros: Room was ready for us. Comfortable bed. Efficient staff.
Cons: Renovation work not professional. Paint splatters in completed areas, halls, bathrooms, etc. New color scheme is almost painful. Breakfast scrambled eggs were stale and hideous.
The hotel is at the end of the street, pretty secluded. There is a small pool, 5ft deep that is behind the hotel, surrounded by trees. Fitness equipment was somewhat working as the tracking buttons did not function, but the start button worked . It was sufficient enough for a reasonable workout. Breakfast was FANTASTIC!!! In room microwave malfunctioned and continued to run, so I had to unplug it. DONT FORGET YOUR TOOTHPASTE, THEY WILL NOT HAVE ANY. Overall, it was pretty good for the price.
Pros: Clean room, clean linens. (Maybe because I was in a handicapped room that was not frequently used?)
Cons: The entrance and hallway walls and carpet looked pretty dirty. I was worried about my room, but I was pleasantly surprised how clean the room and linens were. (Maybe because I was in a handicapped room that was not frequently used?)
would much rather stay at a Hampton Inn.
Pros: Sunday morning breakfast was pretty good.
Cons: Price too high for quality. Hotel is supposedly under construction, but didn't see anything going on. When we arrived at 3:15 our room wasn't ready. We were left standing awkwardly in the hall for 10 minutes.
Pros: all of the above and the locationa near where we wanted to be.
Cons: There were tiny black bugs in the shower. The hotel sprayed but more came out. The bugs were moisture bugs? The maintenance man said. Springtails.

Pros: Clean and spacious rooms, meeting areas beautifully appointed.
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the (room) overall was clean.
Cons: The noise and the construction traffic, trash left behind throughout the property. Breakfast provided left much to be desired. Check-out policy of placing a hold charge for incidentals is un-needed and not properly explained to guest upon check in or out. Hotel under renovation and NOT noted when booking hotel online.
Would definitely NOT stay at this property again OR recommend.
Pros: I love la Quinta and travel many times to Raleigh nc. But I have to say that compared to the one in Crabtree this one was sub standard.
Cons: Breakfast was not good. Cold and old. The room was dirty and smelled funny. Would not want someone to spend $80-90 for this place.
Pros: My dogs loved it here just as much as we did. Very pet friendly, very courteous when my dogs received their one and only noise complaint (first night, just getting used to noises). Asked for room with easy access and got room with easy access. Very nice staff, bed was comfy, room very clean. Really economic for us and just close enough to everything we needed to get to. Will stay again if ever in the CH area.
Cons: AC didn't work like it should. Like cold room while we sleep, woke up sweaty.
Pros: Staff was friendly
Cons: Very out of date rooms and facilities
Pros: Location, price
Cons: Service, cleanliness
Pros: Liked the room, beds were comfortable, pool was nice, could have had longer hours. Clean, though a bit worn down looking. Would stay again.
Pros: The rooms were clean, but dated and the lobby were dated
Cons: The staff was often unattentive and preoccupied with personal calls and tasks. The overall lobby atmosphere was not good: dated and furniture was not all that nice. And the breakfast was very average quality. I guess you gr what you pay for but I'd have expected a bit better for what we paid. Sorry to give this report.
Cons: There was a lot of noise in the hall all night long. Young people partying in the halls. I had to call the front desk and after some time, they finally quieted down about 3 AM.
Pros: Quick check in and check out. Easy access from major roadways.
Cons: Housekeepers never left coffee in the room for use in the coffee makers. Refrigerators have no small freezer. I travel with a cooler and those blue ice packs and couldn't re freeze them before I left. Also there was no way to lock the bathroom doors. Thank god I was traveling alone.

Pros: Very nice, clean, and comfortable. Great location, friendly staff and atmosphere.
Cons: Expensive but comparable to other hotels in the area.
Pros: Wonderful staff---great shuttle service-nice work out facility and bar.Bob
Cons: One side of the bed didn't have any kind of table to rest a cell phone, etc. on. They should get one of the lamps with a small table surrounding it.
Cons: You will get better run for your money at Hampton. They have FREE buffet breakfast! FREE snacks for guests in the lobby all day! It's CLOSER to UNC. The beds are BIGGER! I stayed at Hampton Inn before Sheraton. It was CHEAPER and I thought Sheraton Inn was such a joke. Definitely get your money's worth at Hampton.
Pros: The beds were good quality and the staff was nice.
Cons: We were next to the elevator lift and could hear it run all night; that combined with the high pitched noise from the fridge made falling asleep difficult. Additionally, while there was a selection of food at the breakfast buffet, it was not the best quality.

Pros: From the time I arrived until my departure the staff was the best. All questions were addressed on the spot. They were able to direct me to some of the best eating locations and their restaurant was one of the best I've experienced.
Pros: Everything about the hotel was nice. Normally I wouldn't stay in such a pricey hotel but all the hotels in the area that weekend had the prices jacked way up so I thought, "might as well get a hotel that's worth that money"
Staff is very friendly and accomodating and it's so close to so much great stuff in town
Cons: The breakfast isn't complimentary so beware. It's totally setup like a free breakfast but then you get the bill for $16... i was kind of shocked by that. I would have eaten somewhere else had I known that
Pros: Location and most of recent improvements were very nice. Staff was beyond helpful! We did not mid the renovations in progress.
Cons: The change to the bathroom doors is a concern. There is very little privacy. We were a group of friends that needed that privacy. The door is a barn-door type and so it is never sealed shut. It's beautiful, but not a good decision for a hotel. In hindsight, we should have gotten two rooms - maybe that is why they put up those doors.
Cons: In need of an update
