Pros: Food was awesome
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Good size room and bathroom with lovely Cowshed products
Cons: Very hot in rooms so had to open windows but the windy weather meant the windows and doors rattled all night
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff made the stay very enjoyable.
Cons: Early morning noise on 2 mornings, first I thought was bin collection, second time around I believe could have been early morning staff clearing bins /glass ect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Frodo amazing rooms spotless and staff amazing
Cons: Room was hot and pillows very chunky
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and rooms, close to the sea. Restaurant very good.
Cons: Too hot in the room, even with the window wide open
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We like the simplicity of the design and ambience provided up to a high standard. Good modest breakfast for us, friendly efficient staff, well stocked bar in the room with fresh milk for our tea. Windows could be opened for fresh air, and there was a large fan for hot weather. We enjoyed the interesting menu at dinner with good flavours and wine list.
Cons: I found the bedding uncomfortable for me. The overnight car park was in another street.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff member on duty was charming and efficient and has muscles of steel as she hauled my heavy case up two flights of stairs. Bed was extremely comfortable and bathroom excellent: generous toiletries and a great walk-in shower. Nice little touches such as fresh milk in the minibar and free bottled water.
Cons: Stairs were very steep, not to be attempted after a wild night out perhaps
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Yes to both
Cons: All aspects quite satisfactory.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Funky, well decorated, full of character and next to the sea
Cons: Dark corridors

8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is not a catering establishment, therefore the breakfast (packet cereal and shrink-wrapped croissants waiting in the room), was as much as could be expected, if not exactly thrilling. But it was clean, pleasant and the pub downstairs had a really nice, friendly atmosphere.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owners Ready made breakfast in the room Room just refurbished and very clean No outdoor noise after 11pm
Cons: Impossible to park the car nearby, had to go to a piblic car park about 15min walk away
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff who made you feel well looked after.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, great location, nice old fashioned pub with friendly staff and customers.
Cons: A little table and a couple of chairs would be nice in the room to eat our breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was very clean comfortable and quiet in a good location . And good value
Cons: Wish it was made more clear on the the booking .com site that breakfast was 2 croissant s and a box of cornflakes and the milk and water was in a noisy mini fridge.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host were amazing, warm welcome, very very helpful. Great place to stay. Location is only a short walk to everything you could need. Accommodation was exceptional. Great comfy bed..and one of the hottest showers I've ever had. Nice in room continental breakfast, plenty of tea and coffee and fruit juice. Added bones that the rooms are above their pub! Fab lovely locals pub..great selection of beers. Everyone was so friendly. Definitely stay at the Bow again. Great place and exceptional value.
Cons: Nothing not to like...

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sue our host was welcoming, helpful and a lovely lady!
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a great find. In the heart of the city with free parking (8pm-9am) outside. Delightful small local pub with three letting rooms. Landlady very helpful and caring. Locals friendly, welcoming and some great stories. Room comfortable, warm and clean. Bed comfortable and crisp, clean linen. Ensuite great and shower powerful. The rooms have their own entrance from the street but can also be accessed through the pub. Breakfast is continental style in the room with a mini fridge with milk and juice in. Lovely to wander down stairs for a drink or two.
Cons: The mini fridge was not that efficient and made an intrusive noise. There's no desk space but there is a pleasant window seat. Wednesday morning is delivery morning, but not too noisy!

Pros: Everything :)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful. It's a plus that both bedding and towels are included and a simple yet sufficient breakfast is provided. The rooms as well as the kitchen are very nice and clean. Further I had a nice side view towards the ocean from my room's window.
Cons: There was not much to dislike but expect to find a house that does show signs that it was built a long time ago.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything - the warm welcome, the relaxed and comfortable ambiance, the accommodation, the cleanliness, the lovely comfy bed, the excellent breakfast, the service ... oh and the delightful walled garden!
Cons: Only one very small thing - (single room) - the narrow width of the washbasin in the bathroom with the width & close proximity of the glass shelf above leaves limited space for your head when leaning over to brush your teeth!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Reception clean and bright Room spotless Breakfast very good
Cons: All good
9.6 Excellent
Pros: See above
Cons: Wonderful building exceptionally preserved. Very tasteful decor. Warm and professional staff We had a great time
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast was poor and did not cater for business people as did not facilitate breakfast before 8 am. I had a very small bedroom (single room) but it was nice and clean. No lift, and up 3 or 4 floors. Staff very courteous.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the proper coffee in the rooms and retro sweets. Dan and team are really helpful and accommodating
7.5 Good
Cons: Information about the stairs. 6 flights of stairs and a flight of steps is a bit much for eighty year olds.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good with a choice of options
Cons: The room was just much smaller than I expected and mostly taken up by the bed. Having stayed in Brighton and Hove many times this does seem to be a common feature of staying in this seaside town. The room itself was well furnished and nice touches with tea and coffee etc. Also being at the back of the house it was quiet. It just needed to be a bit bigger to really satisfy our expectations. We did however get the room at a good off season rate so overall the stay did feel value for money.

Pros: Our apartment was very clean and comfortable. Small but cozy. We were provided with everything we needed. The house is not located in city centre but there is a bus going there every 10 minutes or so. Overall very pleasant experience. I would definitely stay again.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent big room and clean. Close to high street, cafes and restaurants
Cons: Skeleton staff
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Leaving. I was lucky to not get an infection thus far from the stay.
Cons: The entrance was poor, smelt like mould and the reception area was just two large damaged leather sofas in a front room and the receptionist was sat behind an old desk in the dark in his slippers. He was friendly though. The room was barely clean, old mascara on the pillow and the chairs had stains all over them. The view was of a horrible street with a lot of the driveways covered in rubbish bags. Bed was uncomfortable.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay started in a relatively quiet way but what made it fantastic was the blonde lady at the reception: super kind and helpful, she made us super happy with simply the BEST EVER BREAKFAST we had in a hotel in the UK: proper delicious Italian croissants with real Nutella - something never heard of in any other hotel we visited so far.

Cons: Nothing I was satisfied.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location satisfactory for our needs. Friendly reception staff. Bed quite comfortable. Plenty of storage space.
Cons: Standard of cleaning in room and bathroom needs improvement. Whole place needs a good overhaul and refurb. Furniture and decor shabby. Couldn't see out of window as the glass was stained and worn. Shower very dated and tiny showerhead. Toilet seat did not stay up.

The Gather Inn - Hove - Building
10
7.6 Good (757 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Gather Inn in Hove (Seafront), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Hove Museum and Art Gallery and Brighton Beach.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Beds
Cons: The food
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was basic but comfortable. The staff were all really friendly and happy to help with any questions we had. It was very useful to have good food available after a long journey and we were made to feel very welcome. There were coffee and tea making facilities in the room and a TV. A small towel was provided for each guest and the room was clean. Unfortunately there were disturbances in the night as security dealt with issues in the a room next to us. However, this was sorted out fairly quickly and the security staff apologised. The location of the Inn was great for us as it was right opposite a bus stop for the city centre. The stop for the station was a five minute walk up the road opposite.
Cons: The shared bathrooms were not kept very clean and tidy. We were sharing with two other rooms of people and, although they should have cleaned up after themselves, the staff clearly didn't check the bathrooms and toilet regularly. Having said that the facilities were as advertised and still good value for the price. The doors to the rooms were very squeaky so people coming and going at odd times of the night could be a disturbance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Myself and 4 friends have just had the best nights stay in the Gather Inn, friendly staff, lovely place, close to public transport to get into Brighton town Centre. Would definitely recommend staying here if your having a night on the town!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The bed was superbly comfortable.
Cons: Lower levels were a little tired but bar overlooking the sea and my bedroom were excellent.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant views from the bar, room was just what we needed for a base. Food was simply amazing. Staff were brilliant even before we arrived sorting out an amendment as well as checking we were on our way and if we needed anything when we arrived. Definitely going back.
Cons: Could do with new stair carpets and a lick of paint but that’s a real nit pick

4.0 Okay
Cons: The fact the room advertised was nothing like the room we had! The fact they had no parking permits when they are clearly advertised
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was good and the parking was good for £7 a day as we managed to park right outside the property. There is a taxi phone in the hotel so we were able to get a direct pick up. Staff were friendly when my colleague lost his key.
Cons: The rooms were very basic considering the cost and not in very good condition. There were cracks in the wall and when i tried to make a cup of coffee the milk had gone off. The bathroom was very small had to squeeze in the door to get in the shower. Overall didn't feel very clean in the room was quite run down
4.2 Okay
Pros: Was horrendous, staff wasn’t so polite, value for the room wasn’t good at all bed was so Uncomfortable that neither me or my partner slept and also didn’t even use the bathroom as it’s was disgusting. So unhappy with this stay
Cons: Everything
4.2 Okay
Pros: The bed seemed comfortable enough although we managed to stay only one night.
Cons: I've booked a family room for 2 nights, from the photos on site it was clearly showing that we will have a bath which actually was a very small and loud shower...carpets worn out...spiders living comfortably on curtains ...and on top of that the so called free wifi u had to pay for it.
6.3 Good
Pros: This is a budget hotel. What you get for your money is budget. The hotel has got some character and is OK. The location is great, if you are looking for a peaceful corner of Brighton/Hove. The beach is just a few hundred metres away. There are also some nice pubs and cafes nearby.
7.1 Good
Pros: It's a 5' bus ride or a 10 to 15' walk to the center of Brighton. It is quit, at the end of the street you see the sea. It's not as crowded as Brighton, really nice and cosy.

6.7 Good
Pros: The bed was very comfortable for both watching tv and sleeping. The breakfast was excellent and not greasy
Cons: The bathroom could have been cleaner eg flooring
6.3 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Very clean and well organised. Fair price. Good location. Very pleasant overall.
Cons: Pushchair... 50 stairs!!
4.3 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good and the ladies at the kitchen very friendly. When you visit Brighton, you must go to the Royal Paviljon, that's great! It's a nice city.
Cons: We had a problem with our room the first night, because of the noise. Our room was next to the front door and in the little garden at the backside people were talking till 3am. And we heard every second of a young man and his girl enjoying the night (....) in the room above. And last but not least our room was in between the kitchen and de breakfastroom, so at 7 am there was a lot of noise again. But the two ladies working in the kitchen (the is no other staff at all, communication only bij telephone or intercom) were very friendly and helped us getting another room for the second night. And that room, at the 2nd floor, was much bigger (same price) without any problems and we were happy with it.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Only price.
Cons: There wasn't staff when we arrived. And the shower and toilet didn't flash well. The bathroom door made from clear glass, and there was no curtain so we could see inside the bathroom and toilet from the bedroom.I don't recommend this accommodation.
7.7 Good
Pros: I loved the decor in my room; it's the third room I've stayed there and all the room have been indivudually designed. The breakfast was was fabulous and was the location.
Cons: The shower in my room gave out a mere dribble of water but I exepct that is because I had a shower just before check-out like most of the other guests in the hotel! It would not put me off staying there again as everything else was fabulous, especially the view and the breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, good location, would go back
Cons:
7.6 Good
Pros: Free wi-fi is always a great bonus. This hotel is well located considering the price.
Cons:

4.0 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: Access through a side door at night, was informed on checking in that there had been a number of recent burglaries in the area. The room itself was dark and in poor condition - very much in need of a refresh. There was a load of junk in the hallway (including a mattress) when I checked in.
7.9 Good
Pros: Bath towels were really only hand towels
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, easy to find, staff were lovely, really helpful. Great breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice B and B. Couldn’t beat the value for money! The rooms were nice and some were being done up so should be even better later this year. Location was good, tho a bit of a walk from main pubs and shops.
Cons: It did have a leak in the breakfast whilst we were there but this was because they were doing the room above up. Doors weren’t easy to lock. (Basically minor things)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, king room size ensuite as well, excellent breakfast, location close to the beach. Everything very comfortable
8.8 Excellent
Cons: No English breakfast available
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely loved our stay here. The owner was super friendly, as were all the other staff. Our room was large and nicely decorated with a very comfy bed and pillows. Breakfast was a help yourself continental and just as you would expect. I would totally recommend that you spend some time in the pub itself and if possible eat there - the atmosphere and food was superb. I will definitely be looking to book here again when in Brighton next.
