this was a very good hotel, easy to find and a good central location that met all our needs. The breakfast was great and being able to sit outside with our morning tea on the canal side was a real bonus. The bar staff on the evening was also very helpful. The only slight problem was on our departure, when paying the bill it was different to the amount quoted but this problem was soon resolved with again very pleasant reception staff.
everything was very good
Comfy bed, good facilities
the gym and pool no
our room was lovely and it was a very romantic setting.I would recommend it to anyone,If I was to go back to ellesmere I would stay at the holiday inn.
I thought the staff were superb. Very helpful and approachable, they really are a credit to the hotel and made a lovely change compared to some we have stayed in.
Excellent staff very courteious and helpful especially in the resturant Extractor fan in bathroom didnt work and no got it fixed even aftrer we had asked them to do so
The swimming pool was clean and reasonably sized. The bed was uncomfortable. Towels were a bit dated. Room was always cold on my return each evening as staff were always turning the heater off.
Convenience, close to cities.Good parking. Large refurbished room
room was lovley, food excellent, enjoyed the motown evening, but dissapointed that we didnt have time to use the pool and saunas the bar and enterainment room could do with being a bit bigger and also some airconditioning in there it was so hot.
Comfortable room good price for hotel with gym gym facilities being restored was not advised there would be no lockers etc when making reservation
The check in staff were friendly, welcoming. The bar staf and restaurant staff were pleasant. The hotel was badly in need of a refit, very dated and tatty. The swimming pool had a moldy fetid smell. The lockers in the changing rooms did not lock and there was no soap in the showers.
The staff were so friendly very smartly dressed and very helpful. The food was gorgeous and the staff in the restaurant were exceelent a credit to The Quality Hotel Chester
some of the staff were ok the whole place was dirty in particular the so called health suite which was absolutly filthy. the standard of food in the restaurant was poor in particular the breakfasts which were never fresh and often left on the plat by myself and other guests. the hotel staff don't know the procedures it took me 30min to check out making me late for an appointment.
The helpfulness of the staff. We could hear the ain road form our roon.
The pool it was very refreshing. The food was lovely and staff were very helpful. We will stay at a quality hotel again.
The rooms were spectacular The rooms were fairly small
Relaxation. Comfort. Thought the breakfasts very expensive.
Excellent standards, very helpful staff and we will always go back to stay when visiting the Wirral
Very friendly staff and a nice homely atmosphere
the location is far away from the centre of the city
The rooms were excellent, very clean and spacious. Reception and other staff were helpful and professional.
Great room, very clean and comfortable, good price Nothing
The hotel was comfortable and staff helpful and had lovely grounds their food is superb. We couldn't stay longer.
Everything, staff very efficient and friendly, room excellent, resturant food very good. Best hotel I have stayed in, in the seven years I have travelled with my job.
Too far from the Liverpool city centre
Very friendly staff and great location close to the railway station.
Very pleasant & effective service from all staff. Although recption admitted they had not read my requests (included when the room was booked in June) until the day we were arriving; they had tried to contact us (unsuccessfully) . They offered us, on arrival, a choice of rooms and also had made a potential alternative booking at a sister hotel to help overcome any possible problems due to my wife's limited mobility. This positive atitude to service was seen throughout our short stay from the Manager (?) through the very friendly waiters and recption staff. Of course a lift would have made the facilities better but we fully appreciate the difficulties in retrofitting into a hotel such as this one.
professional but with a personal touch, made to feel very welcome
The staff were very nice. The coffee was superb and the starters and desert. The bed was too soft. The toast was burnt. The croissants were stale. The carrots were uneatable the beef was poor and the yorkshire pudding was poor
excellent food and good bar prices would have liked a queen or king bed
Friendly staff good food Nothing
Friendly good lookin staff Could only stay 1 day
Very clean environment, very friendly staff, beautiful grounds. There were no dislikes at all.
Everything was ok, no complaints. Nothing
As soon as we walked intothe room we were impressed with the quality presented before us. The room was spacious and ensuite, as well as being welcoming. Its location, with regards to the weding we were attending, was perfect - only 2 miles from the venue. All in all there was nothing to complain about.
four post bed over priced for what was offerd
the size of the single room was so small you could hardly move,The shower was pathetic,
Very friendlt staff. Good food and good location.
Friendly informative staff, perfectly adequate accommodation in the price range, wi-fi access for free so a bonus for the travelling rep etc, walking distance to shopping centres in Birkenhead and metro for Liverpool, be that shopping or a night out on a budget No, I didn't have breakfast but it looked to be well set up
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and you were made to feel very welcome. The breakfasts were excellent. The room was spacious, well laid out, comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water. Good off street parking, and within easy reach of Liverpool city centre by public transport. There were stains on the carpet, the shower cubicle was very small, and the door was not working properly. The shower itself was very weak, and the basin taps were loose, and difficult to close.
A hassle free experience. Helpful friendly staff. Tv could be bigger
It was just a place to sleep. I was just there overnight and didn't use any facilities or eat there. So cant comment much otherthan it was as expected.
The management bent over backwards to accommodate our early (3:00) a.m. arrival after a ferry trip from the Isle of Man. They got out of bed to let us into our room at that ridiculous time, even though they weren't a 24-hour operation. We can't thank them enough for all they did for us under very unusual circumstances! The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast provided was amazing. Thank you!!! Absolutely nothing to dislike!
The restaurant was very good The rooms were not up to standard. Carpets dirty and smelt, curtains not hanging on curtain rail, hole in door of bathroom.
The building was impressive and the restaurant area was nicely laid out. No one on reception. Actually there is no reception, just a phone on an occasional table that no-one answered. My husband had to shout to someone who was sweeping the yard. The rooms were shabby, the locks on the doors were dodgy. The bedspreads had black marks on in more than one room. We booked 3 in total, 2 of the rooms had unfortunate sloping ceilings making it feel cramped.
easy access to all sights, friendly helpfull staff, quiet rooms even when there was a wedding reception on ,well maintained and nice to stay in a hotel with characture, n/a
location was lovely and not too far from liverpool. Train station was just across the road which was very handy
The staff were very welcoming from the start to the end of our stay. They were always available and friendly. The hotel building was interesting and was a welcome change from the usual modern hotel style. I would recomend this hotel to others without hesitation
Convenient location to visit family and tourist sites of Liverpool. Service was slow, although very friendly.
close to rail link(next door)
Good hotel in general. I was the only guest staying for the night but was made to feel welcome. Close to local transport and few mins walk to seafront. Some items were basic and no relaxing chair to sit on in the room, just desk chair. Wardrobe had dust inside, I felt slightly overpriced for the room in general but overall ok
Plenty of choice for breakfast
Restaurant and bar very good. Staff friendly and engaging. Old world quality with modernisation project in hand.
The owner was cheery and the breakfast was fine (though offered only during a limited window of 7 to 8 AM -- no sleeping in here). Awful wireless signal -- could barely pick it up on the main floor and impossible on upper floors. Mattresses were a killer -- worn out, spring piercing, sagging. Slats in my bed cracked. Hit head on low ceiling of stairwell twice. I wasn't the first -- chipped plaster was all over the stairs. A shared shower meant walking stairs in cold before and after shower. Wasn't even soap in the shower area. This place would benefit from a substantial updating and renovation.
