When you stay at La Brillève in Lamotte-Beuvron, you'll be 14 minutes by car from House of Ponds. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Accommodation was spotless with a comfortable bedroom and modern bathroom facilities - great breakfast, perfect for an overnight stay in transit to the South of France.
Pros: Great quiet location about 3 miles from motorway south of Orleans. Beautiful house set in large garden surrounded by woodland on the outskirts of the small town of Lamotte Beuvron, which has a main street containing a variety of shops and restaurants to supply all your needs. Large bedroom on ground floor with twin beds, separate large bathroom with both bath and shower cubicle and separate small toilet room.
Cons: Twin single beds were a little bit on the short side as we both commented that during the night we had woken with our feet over the end of the bed--and we are both around 5ft 6ins (68cms). This was not a real problem for us, but if you were much taller, then it would be.
Pros: Breakfast was great
Pros: The house was beautifully appointed and was surrounded by the forest yet in walking distance from the village. The car was secure. We were travelling to our house in Southern France and therefore the car was packed.
Cons: It was top money for a B&B as the breakfast was limited.
Pros: Everything is perfection. Fabulous Chambres d'Hote run by delightful owner who clearly spends her whole time making everything perfect. Beautiful bedroom with en-suite. Everything was immaculate and squeeky clean. Really comfy bed with huge pillows and crisp white linen. The house is tastefully furnished, a truly fabulous haven. We didnt realise we needed to book dinner. But that was no problem and the most delicious 4 course meal was served on the stunning covered terrace. There is also use of a picture book kitchen if needed - again, like something out of a glossy magazine. Lovely to be able to grab a cup of coffee or a cold drink. We LOVED it and will be back.
Cons: Only that we had to rush off to get the ferry back to the UK!
Pros: The setting, the welcome, the breakfast and a really pleasant and helpful owner
Cons: The en suite toilet with a low sloping ceiling and an awkwardly placed light switch that meant you were having to stoop to get in. Wd stay there again but request a different room
Pros: Delightful property just on the outskirts of Lamotte-Beuvron . Very clean and comfortable and convenient for a stop over to break the journey driving south. Short walk into the small town where we found an excellent restaurant to eat.
Pros: There was a lovely terrace to sit on. Breakfast was good. Our host went above and beyond to help us when our car broke down the evening of our arrival. She was up late calling with the garage, and helped us early the next morning as well. She was really involved and concerned for our well-being. We really had the feeling that someone had our back during this stressful experience!
Cons: The bed could have been softer.
Pros: Perfect location for us!.. Excellent breakfast, overall cleanliness & atmosphere of the place!..
Pros: Excellent shower and bathroom. Lovely breakfast choices.
Cons: Shame she offered no evening meal when we visited, but the Pizzeria in the town was a nice surprise. Lovely pasta dishes.o
The Kilometre 41 provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. Wi-Fi in designated areas is available at this property. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. Guests of this Chaumont-sur-Tharonne hotel can make use of the free parking facilities. There's never a dull moment at this hotel, our guests indicate that the facilities are excellent.
Pros: Cosy and nice place to stay. All was perfect even a late check out ! So kindly. A big Thank you !
Cons: Nothing at all
Pros: It was very comfortable and excellent location
Cons: We were staying alone, there was no restaurant and no-one else there. The whole place was actually closed.
Pros: This is an outstanding property which I would recommend to all discerning travellers. The location is perfect, the facilities outstanding and the owner and his colleague could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The added bonus is that the accommodation welcomes pets and our two labrador retrievers were made a great fuss of. We hope to return to this excellent establishment.
Pros: Clean and relaxed atmosphere
Cons: No tea and coffee in the room
Pros: The hotel is beautiful. The rooms well equipped with lovely linen and towels. Modern and spacious bathroom. Comfortable bed. Coffee and breads served for breakfast (though don't expect this early). At night, they serve drinks and lovely snacks in the courtyard. It's a high-class establishment. The owners/managers are lovely. The town itself is impeccably pristine - like a picture postcard. Lovely walks. A perfect place for a relaxing, quiet getaway for a few nights.
Cons: The rooms lack some storage space (tiny, narrow cupboard only and nothing else). The reception, wine bar and pretty much the whole hotel shuts down at 10pm. After that you get access via the back courtyard (which is quite nice, but the only space to work or sit after hours). There is no coffee making facilities at all. There is no landline telephone in the rooms. The town, though beautiful, has nothing else to offer (one bakery which thankfully was open all the time; another bar which was closed all the time; and a tiny supermarket which was closed all the time (Easter)). If you want to eat out, you must drive to another town. Though this property was sold as a Loire Valley property on booking.com, it's really no-where near many of the attractions in this region. Chateaux Chambord & Orleans is closest at 1/2hr drive, but if you travel out to Blois/Ambois expect a minimum 1hr drive and Chenonceux/Chinon etc 1 1/2-2hrs drive.
With a stay at La Grange 41 in Vouzon, you'll be 29.3 mi (47.2 km) from Château de Chambord and 9.3 mi (15 km) from Chateau de la Ferte-St-Aubin. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Lovely property in beautiful and quiet location
Pros: The welcome into the family quarters and the personally cooked and served food. Oscar the dog, was particularly friendly! It was a pleasant novelty for us to be able to eat & chat with our hosts.
Cons: The bedroom was a little cold & we were expecting hotel facilities, as the property was advertised as a hotel with a restaurant & a bar.
Pros: Very kind owner, nice meal and a wonderful evening eating together.
Pros: The Breakfast!!! It was the best breakfast we had in a long time. from homemade bread and brioche to delicious cake and jam. Scrumptious! Jo and Dan were very helpful and friendly host, We had a lovely stay.
Cons: The room is very cosy for 5, however we were so happy to be accommodated at the last minute with a spare bed for my little sister. Made our stay even better
Pros: Enjoyable dinner - really good fresh ingredients grown at La Grange
Pros: Lovely hosts, delicious home grown food
Pros: Excellent hospitality and food. Very generously equipped in bathrooms with towels, flannels. Beautiful garden. Quiet.
Cons: Squeaky plastic mattress protectors, too hot to sleep well. Solid bed ends means not suitable for a tall person.
Chambres d’Hôtes Montperthuis is 9 km from the centre of Chaumont-sur-Tharonne and 3 km from the A71 motorway. It offers a seasonal, outdoor swimming pool, free Wi-Fi and a shared living room with stone walls. All the heated rooms are individually decorated and feature a wardrobe and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. A continental breakfast with pastries, hot drinks and homemade jam is served every morning at Chambres d’Hôtes Montperthuis. Regional meals can also be enjoyed if you reserve in advance. This property is 5 km from Lamotte-Beuvron Train Station and 48 km from the Château de Chambord. Free private parking is available on site.
Pros: What a absolute gem. Booked last minute and what a find. Just minutes from the autoroute and a perfect location for an overnight stopover. The hosts were charming, the bed comfortable and the shower was good. The bonus was a fabulous home-cooked meal, graciously and stylishly served. We even acquired a new recipe. The surroundings are so peaceful - river, woods and a small, but inviting pool. We’d go back and would definitely recommend.
Pros: Lovely quiet location. Beautifully presented and as rustic as it comes. Rooms were brilliant. The perfect stopover on the way to the south of France
Pros: Clean, comfortable, convenient location, quiet. A warm welcome.
Pros: Do not be put off by the long, slightly rough driveway, at the very end is a hidden gem. So quiet and peaceful and in a beautiful setting. Pool was small but sufficient and one of the reasons I booked this hotel. Relaxing by the pool in this setting was very pleasant. The breakfast was simple continental but enjoyable and adequate. The downstairs decor was clearly a French Hunting Lodge -which was fine for us, being from the English countryside. The owner very helpful with suggestions for visits.
Cons: It would have been good to have a non-slip mat in the walk in shower. The stairs not suitable for anybody with mobility problems. Not in anyway the fault of the hotel or it's owner but necessary to understand that local eateries do not serve after 2pm and then most close early in the evening, this just takes a bit of organisation to overcome
Pros: We enjoyed a nice overnight stay on our way back home. We liked the atmosphere a lot and it was great that after a day in the car there was a pool to refresh yourself. The Guesthouse is beautifully located in the woods, but close to the highway so very convenient. Although simple the meal we booked was well prepared en especially the raspberry tart was delicious. We would have loved to explore the surrounding woods, however we had a long journey again so we did not have time.
Cons: We would have liked a drink later in the evening, but there was no bar or fridge to use and it felt a bit much to disturb our host at his home, we would reccommend to have something for that in place. Also we missed in the bathroom something to hang the shower and a shower curtain. And although we did enjoy the stay we did think the pricing was on the higher side.
Pros: So quiet and peaceful! Great bed!
Pros: Very large family room with excellent beds
Cons: Despite the wonderful location, there are not many places to eat out in the area
Pros: The whole experience was wonderful, prompting us to work out when we could return!
Pros: Very friendly staff and good service. Perfect stop to the south of France.
Cons: Breakfast was little bit sober. An egg would be an easy addition that we would appriciate.

Pros: Location and modern room.
Cons: No drinks making facility in the room. Unusually the room was too hot and there was no way to reduce the temperature.
Pros: The setting was awesome
Pros: Awesome grounds. Beautiful location! Nice staff.
Cons: The room felt a tad sterile-
Pros: breakfast pretty good for france
Cons: dinner was adequate but not inspiring
Pros: Fantastic location and surroundings, easy access, friendly staff
Cons: Recommend dinning out, wifi didn't work at all, only French speaking at the reception

Pros: Very quite location. Sleeping in a castle. Greatest breakfast room I ever been in. Comfortable beds Good and large pool
Cons: Breakfast is simple but sufficent quantity Rooms were not very clean (hair in the bathroom)
Pros: It was barbecue evening the night we were staying and we were made to feel very welcome. Not to mention the food was excellent.
Pros: Beautiful building and wonderful setting. Pool great for kids.
Cons: Bathroom was poor, could do with modernisation, especially the shower.
Pros: The swimming pool
Cons: It was difficult to find staff on arrival. The accommodation was very basic.
Pros: Many previous overnight stays at the Du Corvier - quirky but comfy and clean. Ideal location for half way point to the South of France
Pros: We were fortunate enough to be the only guests in this beautiful chateau. Despite the language barrier, the owner made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed the beautiful communal rooms downstairs in the evenings with our wine. There are two friendly donkeys on site and our children loved to spend time with them.
Pros: The photographs looked interesting but the actuality is even more beautiful and impressive. The magnificent hallway could be slightly daunting but the friendly and welcoming staff make you feel immediately at home. This is a grand residence and has the been kept in wonderful condition. The staff and owners were delightful and provided a substantial breakfast in an opulent setting. It makes for a memorable stay.
Cons: There is little to dislike. Evening meals are not provided but a host of restaurants can be found in neighbouring villages all within a 15 minuet drive. A really pleasant way to begin a European trip.
Pros: Beautifully place, With own drive and sweeping stair case. Very nice people. Our room was perfect for five, high ceilings and lots of room.
Cons: Wi-Fi didn't work everywhere, just near the breakfast room.

Pros: There is a 20 meter pool which is great on hot days. The hotel is very close to Lamotte for those of you competing in the Championships.
Cons: The championship weeks are pricey due to high demand.
Pros: Breakfast was quite good.
Cons: No English spoken Spanish or German, arrived after a long drive from Spain the property is on the outskirts of Lamotte beuvron to far to walk on a busy road we were greeted by a not very friendly receptionist who wanted money up front and wasn,t prepared to show us the room first. The room was in an annex situated across the dual carriage way which was difficult to drive to the room was small dated no outside sitting area and noisy due to the near by clay pigeon shoot our dog was terrified, no thank you managed to get an upgrade for another 15 euros this side of the road which was quite acceptable. Avery disappointing experience.
Pros: Restaurant was good. And service friendly. Excellent position for us and the dogs were welcomed
Cons: Breakfast. Pastries were not thar fresh. Generally the place was rather run down. And I would like to see it given a makeover before we stayed again.
Pros: The weather
Cons: Booked this hotel especially for the swimming pool (traveling with 2 young kids) but pool was closed due to broken pump. Did not seem to have any repairs underway. Explained it did not meet expectations and suddenly the staff did not speak much English. Owner lady just walked away. Rooms were very outdated especially bathroom felt being in the 70ties. Would not recommend and will not book again.
Pros: The pool was clean and welcoming after a long day at equestrian park
Cons: No air conditioning we had day temperatures of 40+ crazy
Pros: The staff was fantastic. We stayed in one of the bungalows near the small lake and it was great. Very quiet and handy for transport links. The pool looked very inviting, however we couldn't use because we had to leave early.
Cons: They would not turn the heating on. Tired would be an understatent
Pros: Location and grounds
Cons: Property was in disrepair and expensive
