for a motel this place isnt half bad. very clean, has almost a home feel to it and the bathrooms are bright and like new. hair dryer and ironing board in room. no microwave but theres a refrigerator and tv. we had people in the rooms surrounding and heard no one... overall i have no complaints. theres a mexican restaurant attached out front that serves breakfast through dinner. we didnt try it out but it seemed busy.
We live in the area and decided to do a little "staycation"... Yes, a little out of date, but very clean, no odor, very nice staff, right next to the beach, few restaurants. Clean nice size pool for the little ones. This is perfect for those on a budget or those who live in the city and want a place to relax. Right on the gold Coast, there a ton of nature preserves in the area too. (Bailey, Japanese stroll garden, Planting Fields etc.) No coffee maker in the room.
The staff was great Brendan was a gentlemen
Room quality. Nicer than most apartments. Front desk staff was very helpful, and the fact that they throw in breakfast and dinner really helps out a lot. This is WAY better than anything in the area that I researched. Room had a nice TV, with accessible USB ports (not those hotels that block them so you can't plug anything else in). Nice kitchen area had utensils, microwave, huge refrigerator, and a sink. Bed was king size and plenty of pillows. Bathroom was clean, linens were clean, and the wifi worked well enough to stream firestick, etc. Also like that I only had to enter the password ONCE, and not every DAY, like a lot of other hotels. The chef at dinner time was very nice, and wanted to know how I enjoyed the food every night - soliciting feedback, etc. Both meals provided, while not 5 star food were very good and plentiful. Compared to what you get when you pay FAR more in Vegas or NYC, this place was a good value. Parking was also not an issue. I found some of the staff during the meals and roaming the hallways to be a bit terse. I know New Yorkers are different but I expected a lighter demeanor for someone in the hospitality industry. There were several instances where I had to track someone down in the dining area to bus the table from the people who had eaten there before me, or to simply ask for a diet soda to drink. There is plenty of coffee and tea, but no other drinks unless you ask for them. Reminding a customer that they COULD be charged for a soda seems a little ridiculous when the food, fruit, and cookies, are unlimited. My room bordered a courtyard, per my request - however I didn't know it would be outside the two meeting rooms. There were times where it got a bit noisy, but didn't really impact me too much. I'm not going to complain about the layout, but if you go there expecting total silence you should ask for a room away from such a place. There was an ant in the bed the first night, and a beetle in the bathroom the second night.... in April. I know I didn't bring them, but what can you do? It wasn't an infestation. I would still stay at this place before going anywhere else in the area.
Good location with large but uninteresting accommodations. Dissatisfied with housekeeping. Didn't get to our room until after 5;00 pm. Slipshod job - took but did not replace coffee cups. Did not replace coffee pods despite requests. For this price point expected better.
The staff were extremely kind and since we were there as newlyweds We were given a copy of our new name signed for the first time as A keepsake....the mattress was very comfortable ....wish we could've Slept longer but we had to catch an early flight to our honeymoon Destination. ....definitely a night to remember.
In a really nice area, absolutely wonderful staff (best I've seen in a long time), comfortable large rooms, 24hr room service, on-site spa, indoor pool, close to cafes and restaurants. Wish there were a sauna or steam-room.
Nice staff, cleanliness
Got a free upgrade Nothing
Beds were comfortable, the room was quiet and the hotel location was close to restaurants and shopping - as well as being easily accessible to expressways. While there was wireless Internet access the signal was not strong and cell phones could not connect to that network unfortunately. Ice machines on several floors seemed out of order or not working very well. The hotel was functional but basic - one small pkg of kleenex/day, 1 small shampoo pkg/day. Possibly if we asked for more it would have been provided, however.
Red Roof Inn Long Island was basic but clean and quiet. I like that there's a written notice of a no partying rule displayed at the front desk. We just wanted a place to get a good night's rest at a reasonable rate before leaving out of JFK the following day and we got it here. If this is the same thing you're looking for within driving distance of JFK or Manhattan then you won't go wrong with this Red Roof Inn. There's plenty of places to eat nearby.
The special that I got last min reservation ,cleanliness, There weren't any breakfast only coffee. I've stayed at 2star hotels and have received breakfast during my stay.
The towels could be a little thicker and larger for shower use.
Room was clean and the staff was helpful Everything was ok
Worn out. Chair ripped at desk.
Upgraded room was very nice with a separate lounge w/ microwave and fridge however I only got the upgrade because the initial room I was assigned had an unmade bed. The front desk addressed it quickly though.
Stayed quite a few times and we just love it. Great little getaway, very clean, comfortable, and incredible staff. They go above and beyond to assist in any way to make your stay great. Never stayed at such a clean hotel, this is really top notch.
The staff was really nice! Rooms are extra clean. We stayed in a room that had the connecting door. My wife and I were trying to sleep, this is already 12:30 AM. There were kids in the next room. Laughing, joking, yelling and screaming really loud. We had to call security to get them to quiet down. Also, this hotel allows dogs. This is the worse idea. Someone with a dog across the hall, couldn't get him to sleep. As a result, he would bark all night. Generally speaking, most people do not have common sense. People would go in and out of their rooms, and allow their doors to slam, waking others in the process. We went out for breakfast. When we returned, our room smelled like marijuana. Someone near our room had smoked up, and the smoke traveled underneath the doors. The bottom line, the price is not bad, the staff is nice and friendly, the rooms are very clean, but some of the people that come to the hotel ruined it for everyone else.
The location and price was perfect for us. The hotel was clean and facilities acceptable. The hotel was unable to provide a crib for my 16 month old child. They said they only have one and it was being used. It seems strange that a fairly large hotel only has one crib.
The tv The fact that the room was moist, the a/c not good, I woke up with a sore throat. The sink was not in the bathroom. The tub had a "dip" in the middle & had a Crack in it like too many people stood in the same spot. The lighting was poor even with 6 lamps. You had to go to the front desk for extra linen, the cleaning ladies didn't have any on the cart. Lastly, cause I'm tired of talkin. My cousins room had MOLD on the wall where the sink was that was supposed to be in the bathroom. No maintenance people on site, just a security guard. I will never stay at another red roof inn. They are ratchet & so is the staff.
Low price, room and hotel were clean, nice HD TV, free Internet Wood Floors, no breakfast, limited toiletries
Hot breakfast included in room price.
Location The fact that they were doing construction in the hotel and did not alert us at the time we made our reservation.
Conveinent to some local restaurants and shops. Fitness center did not feel like a safe environment. Tucked away in basement far corner. Complimentary breakfast was not appetizing. The way the rooms are situated around the open atrium where the bar is located, is sometimes noisy at night.
Hotel looked beautiful from the outside. Included breakfast was nice. I stayed there when the 1st floor lobby was under construction. It didn't really bother me at first because the hotel did look like it needed to be updated, but they put me in a room where 2 out of the 3 nights I couldn't get to my room on my own. The second night there, I wasn't able to use the steps to get to the floor my room was on, so I used the elevator. I was met by a couple of men who basically told me to be careful and not to walk on the wet cement in order to get to my room. And this was at around 11pm. The last night the hallway to my room, as well as the elevator, was blocked off by caution tape. A staff member had to walk me through a kitchen located on that floor. So I'm not sure why I was put in that room since it definitely didn't seem like they were to capacity. I am sure this was just bad timing for me but it would have been nice to be notified beforehand that this was going to be occurring. Also the hotel needs updating everywhere.
The hotel was very nice. Clean and attractive throughout. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cookies at the front desk were a nice touch. We had a king bed room. It was nice and the bed was comfy. It had a flat screen TV and included HBO. We had requested extra towels and they were in the room when we checked in. The bed only had three pillows, but a call to the front desk quickly remedied that. The included breakfast was great. We stayed for two nights, one morning Nova and bagels were featured, and the next day there was an omelette station. Fresh fruit, yogurt, home fries, bacon and sausage were among the offerings both days. Yummy. The construction mentioned in some other reviews was not present when we were there. There should be a sign directing you to park on the lower level checking in with bags. There is an elevator from the lower level. If you park by the main entrance, there is a flight of steps to haul your bags up. A channel guide in the room would be helpful.
Everything was great! From the moment I checked in, I had a great experience! From Will and Zach at the Marco Polo, to the comfortable room. I would stay here again and again! Great job to management for properly training the staff. Nothing!
large, comfortable room, nice amenities. clean. easy access to shopping, university, restaurants. We weren't there long enough to take advantage of the spa or game room.
Very friendly staff, great location, and excellent value. I will definitely be back! the bed made me roll to the middle, but was still comfy
Staff, was great. Louis is the star of the whole hotel. Ceiling leaked. We had to move to different room. AC was weak and noisy. Room wasn't very c;ean.
The rooms were very nice, bar & restaurant were awesome. Fridge, microwave & options for beverages were good. The location was perfect for our girls night sleepover. The front desk clerk was rude & didn't explain any charges. Unfortunately they had to come and change the bed sheets because it looked as the though the weren't changed from the previous guests. The cleaning staff responded quickly and they were very apologetic.
Not much, wife enjoyed her massage. Beds too small, advertised pool is actually an exercise pool in the basement 15x8 in size. Very small bar that is understaffed. Gaming center has small pool table and board games that are incomplete. Very overated overall.
The staff and service were outstanding! They seemed to genuinely care how you were doing.
Comfortable and luxurious room with exert ammenity. Immaculately clean in every way with a supportive comfortable mattress, premium linens and fluffy pillows. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. The pool is too small.
Not much the location and how the building looked from the outside as well as the fake pictures of the inside lured me in. The building was old and jaded the staff were nice but not that professional as one might expect at a hotel. The night staffs were especially rude. The bar was filthy upstairs I got sick twice after drinking there. The bar tender didn't even have a top on the martini shaker he was using a napkin on top of the shaker so unhygienic. The carpets were dirty in the bedroom, my chair was dirty. All the rooms need to be gutted and start over. I had a friend come to visit me during my stay she couldn't believe what dump the place was compared how it's portrayed online. I was miserable during my stay and so happy to leave that Hotel. I would never stay there again ever.
Location is the only thing which I liked. In future I will NOT stay in this hotel. Poor customer service. No room service after 10:30PM. Checking with one of the hotel manager about food availability, she gave me a wrong number and I woke up some poor guy asking for Pizza at 11 PM. Rooms are not luxury rooms but mediocre room with bathrooms that need renovation. Toilet flush was not working properly and you need to flush three times. Don't be fooled by thinking this is a luxury hotel.
Loved the history, the full range of facilities (in door and outdoor pool, racquetball court, pool table - just to name a few), the friendly and helpful staff, and most especially the exquisite and quiet setting. It was a lovely, memorable Gold Coast experience.
Convenient to Webb Institute. Excellent buffet breakfast. Parking is free but it is remote. Rooms need more outlets. Indoor swimming pool needs to be refinished.
Breakfast buffet is good. Hotel is in process of refurbishing rooms and hallways as part of its rebranding as The Mansion. The distances between the rooms and the parking lots is very long, especially in bad weather. No covered or valet parking. Room doors slam when not closed carefully. No frequent guest or airline rewards benefits.
Comfy bed, nice bathroom. Very long walk to room, with 2 short staircases; a real pain when carrying suitcases. Hallways a bit shabby, although repainting in process.
nothing Although we had a confirmed reservation, the hotel didn't provide us a room due to overbooking. That was very disappointing.
Front desk when we arrived at 3:30 pm person , was very friendly. Toilet was broken, we were not able to use., we had to go to restroom in the middle of the cafe area., which was very embarrassing. The front desk did give a discount off room for this inconvenience.
The staff was nice and was very helpful. They upgraded our room when they accidentally locked us out of our room. The food wasn't so great, the "gym" they had was two treadmills, a bike, and an old stair machine.
There is not much to dislike about this place. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the customer service was outstanding! Once I got to my room, the front desk called the room and offered additional assistance if needed. And later when I wanted to find a nice restaurant in the area, they were very helpful with suggestions and even gave me a menu along with drink discount cards. Free breakfast was included with my stay and the food selections were great! They have a variety of options to choose from and selections that other hotels don't offer, such as hot oatmeal and yogurt. There were plenty of beverage options and the orange juice was fresh. This hotel also offers free hot soup in the evening, which is a unique touch! Great customer service really makes a big difference and I will choose this hotel over the others when I come back into town. Thank you for a wonderful experience! One minor complaint is that I wish my bed was more comfortable.
The bed was super comfortable. The rooms were clean. Nothing
comfy bed, yummy breakfast, and nice ginko tres our heater stopped working in the middle of the night
motel was very clean taken care of.It was great.
Facilities, complimentary food/beverage and staff surprisingly good for the price we paid, which was quite reasonable. Water pressure in shower was awesome. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Lousy tv choices, hearing/cooling unit didn't function well
Breakfast was good and it lasted until 11 am on a Sunday
Unfortunately I would not know where to start. They say pictures are worth 1000 words and perhaps I should send some pictures. From dried blood, black mold, insects and stained headboards I would never recommend anyone stay here. The staff at the front counter was not only inconsiderate but claimed that I should have purchased "incidentals". Apparently at this hotel "incidentals" are defined as clean rooms. Needless to say my three business partners felt the same way and experienced more or less the same service and type of room. I can assure you as a company we will never stay at any Holiday Inn.
Price was low. Staff was friendly. Bar and restaurant on site. No restaurants in immediate vicinity. Shower pressure very poor and hot water doesn't last long. Chairs in room aren't super comfortable. Rooms don't have a window outside. You have a window t the hallway that others can walk by. There are windows in the hallway.
- The entrance is 'grand' and welcoming with updated fixtures and furniture -bar was very nice looking -pool was a nice size - bedrooms were very updated and inviting -shower and tiles all new and 'clean' -lobby bathrooms very clean -staff VERY accomodating and pleasant! -Bar doesn't open until 5, had to order food from the 'outside' -the lower level (single digit rooms) aren't very sound proof. I was up all night with doors slamming and hearing various conversations from down the hall. I wonder if staying on the main level would have been less noisy
The hotel was great. However, the king suite did not not seem to have a king bed. It seemed to be a queen bed.
The hotel is surrounded by many shopping stores and easy to get to. My only issue with the hotel is the pool is very small. The hotel was great and in a great location.
Staff was truly excellent. Bed was a little too firm for me.
Overall-everything! The location was extremely close to where we needed to be. The room was very clean and well maintained. Even though the dining area was being remodeled and they served breakfast in a meeting room, the service and food was excellent. N/A
cyber room and complimentry coffee and fruit in the mornings yes just wish they had a shuttle service to jfk so i wouldnt have to drive so much in new york cause im not used to the traffic but smart enough to buy the added insurance to my rental car..

The location suited our needs quite well. Most staff members were courteous and helpful. The fact that there was no complimentary breakfast was a disappoint considering the price per night and the large buffet put out in the morning. I'm still not clear as to who is entitled to it and the answer I got at the front desk was vague at best.
It was very centrally located to everything, which may it very easy to find (coming from the Jersey Shore). We had an excellent dinner at Baci (?) restaurant. And could easily get to the Scottish Festival at Old Westbury Gardens. It was impossible to adjust the temperature (as it was designed).
Location, location, location. Located just off Old Country Road in Westbury, it's in the heart of the Carle Place/Westbury area, easy to get to from highways or streets and close to nearby Nassau Coliseum, Eisenhower Park and other area attractions. Breakfast isn't included and it's too expensive. For $14.95 per person, one can go to any of the many local diners and get a wider array of breakfast offerings as well as larger portions.

The rooms were very clean. No
The front desk was extremely helpful. The waiter was great also
Loved the pool, the rooms and the restaurant's private booths with flatscreen tvs. Waitstaff seemed a bit disorganized.
The bed was comfortable and I liked the overall floorplan. They made it so that the main corridor feels like you're outside, but its all closed in, which I can see being nice durning the winter. I was a little disappointed in a few things. There was no complimentary coffee. The breakfast was good but overpriced. The restaurant staff in the evening was slow and unattentative. Lastly, there was no free wifi in the rooms.
The kids enjoyed the indoor pool. Rooms were clean. We booked reservations 6 months ago for four and had requested two King sized beds. When we arrived they gave us a room with one bed and offered a cot but said two cots were a fire hazard so couldn't do it. We were given two blow up mattresses which held air only for an hour or so. My kids spent the whole night re-inflating their beds every 90 minutes. Our requests for new mattresses that didn't leak for the second night fell on deaf ears. $500 for two nights and I have to pay $20 for WiFi? Really?
The deluxe breakfast was GREAT!! It saved us alot of money with 4 kids. The shower squealed terribly intermittently during showering.
Staff was extremely friendly and did their best accommodate my needs. There was no heat during my stay and it was freezing that night. They tried fixing it but it only lasted for an hour. They did give me blankets, but I was still cold.
My room was clean and comfortable. There is a great buffet breakfast served every morning. The room includes bottled water. The staff is excellent Especially Darma the buffet server. She made sure everyone had plenty to eat. You also get free parking.
The bathroom vanity was small, not very much room to put your things. I asked for a quiet room but the street noise was pretty loud. The beds are hard so if you like a soft bed you may be uncomfortable. This hotel is ok for 1 or 2 nights but I wouldn't stay there longer.
The breakfast was very good .
The room was very well equipped with frig, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, etc. The bed was comfortable. The room was well cleaned and serviced. The included breakfast was very good with a wide choice of items. The a/c was noisy. The hallways and lobby are drab and show signs of wear. The breakfast room needs considerable improvement in terms of looks and space. We thought the cost was excessive for the type of hotel but then it is NYC so we might be wrong about that.
I was not impressed by attitude I got over the phone. The staff didn't take the time to actually listen to what I was asking, and responded with whatever they wanted. Then, when we arrived, they said they would call us to let us know when we could check in, however, they did not. So we showed up and took a chance they we could finally check in. And I got charged the extra 25 dollars for no reason. We came back to the room after 1 in the morning, and left at 8 in the morning. All we did was sleep. Nothing was touched, broken or ruined. We are always very respectful, yet they kept the extra money. Over 150 just to sleep for 7 hours, too much if you ask me. I will not be coming back when we go back to new York next month. The beds are very hard, and the pillows are extremely lumpy. And the towels are very cheap, thin towels. Was not impressed, for the amount I was charged.
Very friendly staff, room service was perfect and followed up with a phone call. A lot of children were running around unsupervised and the doors are not very sound proof which led to some periods of annoying noise.
This hotel has absolutely no negatives! This is a very special place, one here is not a guest but a family member. I have never, never, ever stayed in such a hospitable place, I cant recomend highly enough!
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and in good condition. Very convenient to downtown Great Neck. If you're holding a function it seems like a good time, there were two back to back while we were there and the guests seemed very happy with the venue. There are virtually no frills in the hotel outside of the room. A very simple lobby, no restaurant, and almost no place to sit outside of your room anywhere. The AC unit was incredibly loud in the room, beyond normal hotel business travel. Fridge is stocked with minibar where everything is invoiced, so if you want to keep food you need to clear our their stuff and then replace. Lone Elevator for the whole building was very slow, regularly took stairs to avoid. Breakfast area is small, porch outside has huge heat vents blasting you when you try to eat out there. Breakfast area locked off hours so again nowhere to sit and relax outside of your room at all.
Extremely convenient for those without a car such as myself - this hotel is across the road from the Great Neck LIRR express station (half an hour from NYC Penn Station) and also near many bus stops. A number of restaurants within walking distance. The room was adequately spacious. The staff were accomodating, full of helpful hints on the neighbourhood, and they called me a cab at 5am. There was some noise from the restaurant downstairs with the window open, although with the window & curtain closed it was not an issue.
I have stayed here in 2006 and hotel was exactly same. It is very close to station and access tto Manhatten. General sandard is obvious at a money saving level. Reception staff could be more pleasant, however, manager very helpful, and concierges also,
The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff were very accommodating with regards to late checkout.
The rooms were so clean. The beds so comfortable. The valet and dining room staff delightful and so accommodating. The dining room food was excellent. The rooms on one side of the hotel abut the LIRR tracks. If you are a light sleeper this could be a problem.
Clean and nice people No

Good location, clean room, active bar scene. No AIR CONDITIONING:with the star level and price of the hotel, you would think they could afford both air and heat as you choose.Privacy sign on door was not respected.
