The staff was very friendly and efficient both at pickup and drop off.When we picked up the car the staff person assisting us did the processing outside at the car. This would be OK in nice weather but it was raining when we picked up. Suggest that the procedure be done as much undercover as possible when weather is bad.

Heathrow Enterprise rentalIt's so easy to rent at Heathrow Enterprise- the bus picks me up on street level and drives me and my bags to the enterprise rental agency- less than a 4 minute drive AND the drivers are always personable.

Excellent customer service, no wait time.Personnel were very customer focused and thier goal was to get you in the car and on your way to your destination. Return of car and transport to airport was the quickest and easiest we have experienced at any major airport.Nothing.

Car condition poor and difficultThe car had 30,000 miles and was covereved in small dents and scratches. I questioned this with the rep. Who was helpful and she used a small plastic template stating only large damage is considered material. However when i rerurned the car a different rep started examining every tiny scratch with NO TEMPLATE in sight. I looked after the car and all the damage was on there. After some arguing she agreed. But i will not fo back, ill use Sixt where you get none of this rubbish and much newer cars.

Required to keep the parcel cover in the carCar was in great shape, clean, and large enough to hold everyone comfortably. The Heathrow shuttle was big enough to carry us and all our bags and was ready to go when we were. Signing the rental agreement and returning went quicklyThe car we rented (Ford S-Max) had seats for 7 people. We needed six seats and planned on folding the other one down for our bags. However, the car also has a parcel cover, which is fairly long (about four feet) and goes right where the head of the back row passenger sits. I asked Enterprise if we could leave it behind in the office because it would take up too much room or be in the way. They refused to let us do that, and said it had to stay with the car. It meant the back seat passenger had this bar/ luggage cover in their lap for most of our trip. I mentioned this to the agent when returning the car, and he gave me his contact info and said he would ensure we get an upgrade if we ever rent there again.

Shuttle driver and staff was very friendly.I was told I had to downgrade my rental or upgrade because the shuttle driver took me to the wrong terminal. Because downgrading wouldn’t work, I had to love up to the larger vehicle and my rental rate DOUBLED!!!

Horrible service at T5 Heathrow airportNothingClaim it is in the airport but you have to walk 20min. Better take a shuttle! Staff was very unfriendly and told us they only hold the car for one hour when we arrived with a 2 hours delay... they couldn’t supply the car we booked but instead of offering a bigger car they tried to sell us a smaller one! It had a strong smell of cigarettes and several dents not recorded in the inspection sheet. We had to refuse and after 1:30 of waiting/negotiation we finally magically had the car we booked. Will never use Sixt again

Insisted I buy their insurance at a ridiculous cost even though I had documentation for ample coverage from the US. Totally belligerent and disrespectful. This was the terminal 3 office at LHR. Best decision was to walk away. Do you know that we do have options???

Insurance rip offTheir charges for insurance are outrageous ! Also the kayak lists charges which are much different than Sixts’ website. Another case of bait and switch when the customer has zero options.The insurance is ridiculous !

Received a basic vehicle for £40 a day, and when asked about extending for two days, it went up 1500%, and they wanted for £1,200 for two extra days. Was told by staff, to take vehicle and extended after collected vehicle. When tried to do that, was told can only be done in branch. Basically incompetent staff, blind leading the blind and extremely bad customer service. First and last time using Hertz!

The car was clean and I had no issues with the vehicle.Rekha's behaviour at the counter was unacceptable. She was rude to me and other employees around her. She asked for additional address proof (not sure why since I've never needed more than my license with Hertz). She ran my card for £373 without asking what type of insurance I wanted. She did not tell me about the hidden fees. I expected a bill of £67 + insurance as stated on the Kayak site. When I get there, insurance is £55/day (absolutely insane!), £20 VAT not included in my quote. She was even rude to her own employee denying one of them a coffee break while I was standing at the counter. Overall I enjoyed the car, the dropoff experience but Rekha was downright awful. Would not want to interact with her again.

New car. Lots of features.No one around to explain features of the car. Had to return the car two weeks early due to covid 19. Did not get a partial refund for those two weeks. Was contacted by P.R. person when I gave them a poor review who seemed like he might give me a partial refund but I believe they are now in bankruptcy proceedings so doubt I will see it.

The staff did his job. He said he gave me an upgrade, but who needs an upgrade when I was already paying £27 more than the price I was quoted.They forced me to ta their Damage Weaver protection which was more expensive than they rental for the car. The DW is suppose to be optional and not mandatory. I guess they did that because they knew I was coming from the US and I probably had no other choice. I felt cheated and I made up my mind not to use hertz again.

The drop off staff was super nice and friendly. The shuttles worked well. The car was fine.We were grifted by the pick-up representative. Upon arriving from an 11 hour international flight, the guy insisted a vehicle upgrade for an extra £80 (because “rain and safety”) as well as a fuel package (no need to fill up before drop off) for £51.32. Being a tired foreigner who didn’t think to take the time to review the distance, mileage of the original car, or convert the currency, I just said ok. This is on me; I should have made the guy wait while I did the math. But he was rushing me and my partner and I were tired with an addition 2 hour drive ahead of us. I feel angry with myself for letting him do this to me, as it literally more than doubled the cost of the vehicle. The distance we drove didn’t even need one fuel stop, and surely it wouldn’t have cost us £51 to fill up the car. Also, the smaller car would have been fine; the weather wasn’t an issue, and neither were our bags. The guy conned us, ostensibly so he could make a commission, or because hertz encourages that behavior. Pretty unhappy with that.

Budget changed the reservation from a Premium vehicle to a compact car , with an increase in price without notifying me. When I logged onto the Budget website the reservation had been changed. 1. heck of a long line to get the car; why does it take such a long time to rent a car when it's pre-ordered and it's just some basic paperwork. 2. I'm still waiting for a bill; haven't even received one by email. Their system was down when I returned the car and yet I've been charged more than was quoted with no explanation at the time of return.

Bad CommunicationClean, good car.Had questions about the rental, both before and during. NEVER GOT REPLY from email I sent before rental started. Called during rental, after 20 minutes on hold I was hung up on. Very bad. Also, at pickup I was pushed too much to upgrade, when I finally got them to understand "NO!" they got very abrupt. "There's your key. The car's out there in slot 8."

Excellent rate and no issues with carCost of the car was very good. Return was a breeze. Good sized car for the narrow roads we used. Traveled from London to Scotland to Belfast down west coast of Ireland to Dublin. Over to UK a couple stops and back to London. Great trip with car.I requested a Continental pass when renting. The agent and I both forgot and left without it. I called Budget and was told to go to Budger N. Ireland and get ont to continue on into The Irish Rep. The N. Ireland Budget systems do not talk with the LHR Budget systems. They talked on the phone but concluded that I could not get this in Belfast. I continued without it with no one asking for it. Upon returning nothing was said so I saved that cost.

Nothing! Stay away and help put disreputable businesses out of business!Bait and switch. Got a price that looked great, but when I got there not only did they have an inferior car to the one I booked, that they tried to pass off, but the price they charged was over 40% higher than when I booked online. (Looking at the other reviews, I'm not the only one in this position) I walked out after confirming that they wouldn't charge me anything, and they charged me over 90 dollars (in dispute with credit card). I then went to a big name brand like I should have in the first place.

The Pickup was the worst pickup scenario I've ever seen. There's a kiosk to 'skip the line' that you can use, but you need to get in the line after anyway. We had to deposit about $1200. The pickup process took about 2 hours. The car we received wasn't the class we requested, nor clean.Clearer indication of where to go when arriving. More staff. Working Kiosks. A real waiting area. Quicker service. Most importantly advance information on required deposits (I would never have rented from here had I known it was a $1200 USD deposit required).

The young teenager working there was probably the only person that was courteous and understanding there.Booked car for 11am. Didn't get car until 1:45pm. Car was wall banged up and cut on tire. They said it's all good. Protested to get another car as I didn't feel safe. Returned car at 11:45amnext day to be scold by clerk who said needed to be returned by 11 and others waited for 3h for it. Although I had checked in online in advance, all customers had to wait in the line to set up the car hire insurance. It took 45 minutes to get through the line, and the booked automatic car never came after 2 hours. The man checking customers in kept making rude comments about them.

OVERCHARGED!The instructions for pick up on the website were helpful. The Toyota Aygo we rented was clean and adequate.The shuttle doesn't run very often (every 30 minutes or so). The pick up process was inefficient and took a LONG time. What really got us though? The EXPENSE. We purchased $40,000 of insurance through Kayak and were still charged $172 for insurance at pick up. A vehicle we thought was $40 to rent for 2 days (quite a bargain) ended up costing over $200. That's ridiculous. I've spent less than that for an entire week in Hawaii. NOT AS ADVERTISED. Do your research and don't use Easirent!

They didn't accept the insurance on my credit card so the car cost a lot more than I had planned for. The car they gave me had worn through the brake pads and you could hear the rotors rubbing when you braked. I was staying 200 miles away from the rental place so was hard to bring the car back for a replacement. I am upset that they provided me with a car, that I drove my children around in, that was not fit for purpose. To add to this the person at the desk when I returned the car was not polite, barely talked and was not too apologetic about the state of the vehicle. Will never use again or recommend to anyone!

The drop off was fast.I had a reservation for a car which the sales staff completely ignored to start a new transaction. When I asked questions about the operation of the car and GPS, people were helpful.(1) They would not accept my Amex card, claiming it could not be verified (without even trying it). They said it would never work anywhere in Europe. In fact, I continued to use it in many locations the remainder of my trip. (2) I returned car 2 days early and they would not give a partial refund.

I will never use Avis again - ever. In Jan 2019 I booked a car for pick up at LHR Dec 16, making the mistake that my flight out of SFO was actually getting into LHR Dec 17. Had I picked up the car Dec 16, I would have been paying $460 for my rental period. With zero flexibility they wanted me to now pay £2000 for the same rental package (1 day less in fact). After a long haul flight with 4 biggish bags - which the Avis shuttle driver gave no help with - I had to go back to T2 and get a car from National for £600. Same size as my original Avis booking, help with baggage into and off of bus and even into my car! Enterprise rocks. Avis sucks big time.

I made the mistake of not bringing my passport to the rental counter. Although not explicitly stated anywhere in the terms and conditions, a passport for foreign tourists is required to rent a car from Avis Heathrow. A driver's license is not sufficient documentation.

DisapointedCar was clean inside.Night time flight tried to reduce the hassle of insurance early in the a.m. Made reservation on line with car rentals .com for a Hyundai -I 30 at he same time I purchased the collision damage coverage. This was through Allianz insurance. At check in at Avis they would not accept this insurance, they allowed me to call Allianz in the US their rep was helpful and was sorry the insurance was not accepted, a refund was offered and accepted. Bottom line I wound up paying about $ 100 more for this rental. And the car supplied was smaller than the model I requested.

Take too long for serving customers at check in and check out. The airport pick up point information is not accurate. All customers were getting irritated with waiting time. I think its not staff issue, but seems like company policy might be too strict on staff on any mistakes. Will avoid in future

A complete con. I booked a standard hatchback for three weeks via Kayak for collection at Europcar Heathrow in August 2021. The price was $873.29 which was due at pick up and included $229.31 on top of the base price as applicable taxes. No mention of other costs was made to me during the booking process. Upon picking up the car I was told by Europcar the actual price I needed to pay was a whopping $1,786 due to 'other taxes' and 'insurance'. I was told that this was due to vehicle insurance not being included in the price quoted to me, as Kayak does not factor this in for non-US or Canadian citizens at the time of booking. Upon enquiring why it's not added, I was told this was a rare occurrence for British Citizens booking on the Kayak platform and that Europcar had not seen this before. This was blatantly untrue as the customers left and right of me, also picking up rental cars, were complaining for the same reason and equally as shocked. Kayak and Europcar have lost my future business for their lack of transparency and I will be complaining to both. I urge people considering a car rental with them in the UK to double-check the insurances and 'hidden costs'. At a time when car rental prices in the UK are already astronomical, this smacks of pure greed and swindling customers searching for economical deals.

I still don't know what those charges (about $200) were for. Might have been legit, might not have been-- I have no idea because they just tacked them on w/o any explanation. No transparency. I will be hesitant to use Europcar in the future because of this. 3. Buying insurance initially, it was not clear to me that the insurance would be third party. Allianz is OK, but if I buy insurance I would much rather just get it through the rental company directly.

What a rip off! I purchased Allianz insurance in advance but at the desk they wouldn’t give me the keys without purchasing their own insurance which is three times the price. Never again.

I cancelled the rental and was charged anyway. This is not how my experience with rental cars has been. I saw free cancellation, evidently it's not really free.Being very clear that you have to cancel well in advance or you will be charged, very different than US rental cars.

Nice car but you can get that at any rental shop.Took about an hour to check in and there were only two people in line in front of me and I was there during weekday business hours. Despite listing that they offer baby carseats, no one from that department was there so they couldn’t offer us one. Manager ignored us as he was too busy.

Charged for mandatory insurance even though I had coverageCar was decent sizeI showed up and was told I have to buy mandatory u k insurance even though my insurance company covers world wide rental insurance (progressive). I had to pay up or load up 5 bags and kids and go back to terminal. Also received the upsell. Turns out the vehicle we originally rented. had more room than the one they were trying to sell us. Total b s. I won't rent here again.

Efficient staff, pick up and drop off very fastCar was three years old, had over 35,000 miles on the clock, was dirty inside, overall one of the worst rental cars I've driven. I am a Privelege member and have used Europcar for many years and usually, they re d to be the best of the rental companies, this car should have been sold off!

The shuttle to the airport did not come after 1 hour 15 minutes. So to avoid missing my flight i stopped a cab in the road and spent 20 pounds sterling to get to terminal 2.

They are a corrupt business that rip off customers, just see news articles online (e.g false damage claims, not honoring rates). Because they appear on Kayak they also damage Kayak’s brand too).

Don't get fooled by the apparent cheap prices on the website!We thought we'd struck an excellent deal with Green Motion. However on arrival to Heathrow, we firstly had to get a paid shuttle to the car rental location, costing £5 per person. We were then forced to pay two times the cost of the car rental for insurance because the vehicle didn't have any cover as standard whatsoever. I've never heard of such a thing! We came away feeling upset and like we'd been scammed.

They say free shuttle but you have have to pay for tickets both ways and email them receipt when you get home to get reimbursed( as far as I’m concerned that’s not free). Car exterior was very dirty on pickup and they require you to go out alone and look for additional damage on a dirty car to see if you can find something they missed. Standard legally required insurance was not included in price of car through booking site( or that’s what they said when I got there). Overall it felt like a dirty slimy operation that is designed to rip people off every chance they get. Every body re ting there was angry and seemed to feel the same way. Staff was for most part indifferent to the negativity by the customers and you can tell they just deal with it all day due to the companies for policies. Definitely worth layyng a little extra to go with a sta and brand such as enterprise or Alamo etc....

We were surprised at the extra costs at the point of sale from when we did the online booking. The staff were very helpful in giving us options and a better deal though.They need to advertise the extra costs beyond what is quoted online. There were two other customers just while we were there very angry with the rise in quote.

They were grilling me for a small scratch on the car. Luckily I had a picture showing the scratch existed before I picked the car. Lot of hidden charges almost double the amount.

These are bait and switch bandits, avoid like theI booked a car online for 13 pounds a day for 10 days. On arrival I was told I would have to pay an additional 13.25 per day basic insurance. As it was nearly midnight I told them I would take the car for 1 day. When I returned the car I heard them doing the same con on another customer. I rented a better car for less at Europecar just down the road.
