Spacious room and well maintained. Hotel Car Parking expensive. There is a public car park behind the hotel so probably much cheaper to park there yourselves.
Apart from the location and the receptionist who was extremely professional and ready to help nothing else to mention. For a 4 stars hotel, the premises were poor, the bed for 2 people was 1.20m large! The ceiling had humidity spots and the smell in the room was not great. The air conditionning was making a lot of noise. Difficult to find and to access the hotel with the car.
the location was great, with an amazing view from our balcony
friendly staff a bit further from centre of town than I would have liked
location was excellent relative to the beach and restaurants; the staff was friendly and bi-lingual; continental breakfast was wonderful; hotel was clean and scent free. The timing of the room cleaning service was irregular, it was therefore impossible to plan your mornings/early afternoon... the sauna, jacuzzi and gym facilities were only available between 4pm to 10pm from mondays to saturdays, I wished they were available at my leisure.
Its proximity to the city centre. It was not sufficiently clear that parking was off street by the hotel porter
Close to the beach for outdoor activities, hotel gym and easy access to the centre. Free internet access is very dependent on where your room is located in the hotel. I had no connection ap 50% of the time.
the location of hotel is superb.it has amazing views and the staff are very helpful and friendly
Staff extremely helpful, friendly & efficient.
Staff were excellent. Receptionists really friendly and helpful. Perfect location for the beach and only 10 minute walk to the main toursit cites and town centre.
Lovely room and first class facilities. Comfortable. Great bathroom.
Wonderful location with views over the sea & the city from the terraces; excellent room with first class cleaning & provision of toiletries; great view from room balcony; polite & efficient staff. Good hotel facilities, including pool. An excellent hotel. Expensive food on both terraces but a reasonable selection in the restaurant.
The building was fine, location ok and the view wonderful The room was small and the resturant food poor
staff, clean, breakfast choice minimal
the scenery from the hotel was lovely and the staff were very efficient and professional. nothing
Welcoming staff. Dining: good choice; high quality. Super views over the port.
Room excellent. View superb. Pool first class. Food marvellous. Service very good. None!
breakfast was really beautiful and I loved the little barlcony of room. too dificult to get booking^^
Excellent place to stay, but you do need a bus or taxi to get to the city centre
Location was excellent and cleanliness of room Bathroom smelt when it rained heavily
The Las Vegas was in a great location - a very short walk to the beach and right off the city metro stop. The staff was not helpful at all for any travel or tour information, but Malaga was so easy to get around in so that made up for that fact. The room was clean and large and was all that was needed, but it was nothing luxuorious. I would recommend this place for those who are looking for a short stay in Malaga and wan to be close to beach and a short walk away from the city center.
location and the way fr hotel to town. also the sea view fr balony well, the facade, and even the rooms, could use some lil brushing up ;)
Sea view. Breakfast is not included hot food.
Close to the beach and clean room (however ants in the bathroom). Staff speak english. Breakfast was included and paid however we weren't allowed to take out anything from the dining room even small donut!!! There were ants in the bathroom! There was only one channel in English language (cnn). Car noise from the street was annoying
It was very accessible to the beach, 30 min walk from the main shopping in Malaga. Proximity to cultural events and monuments was good. It lacked decent pool facilities, which was in need of some dire t.l.c. The grassy area was poor and unkempt and there was a lack of privacy from the public, as you could be seen from the main roadway and pathway along the beach front. A gate with access sraight onto the beach from was not in use, a simple entrance code system would be good, saving having to go through the main entrance of the hotel each time you wanted to go to the beach.I would say the hotel was tired and little dated.
The room was a good size and the air conditioning was very afficient. The view from the balcony over the beach was marvellous. The breakfast was very good apart fron the tea and coffee which was out of a machine and was never very hot. The hotel was in a great position but could do with some updating ie. the awning on the dining room windows were in tatters, the paintwork on the balconies was peeling and the bar closed very early although as there was seldomn anyone around I dare say they thought it wasn't worth staying open
Good to stay 2-3 days
Room with a view ! Hairdryer did not work. The cooking rather poor. As bed and breakfast recommendable
The hotel was central to all of the facilites and the city centre. Staff needed to smile more! Near a busy main road. Buildings needed painting around the pool area.
Excellent value for money. Very central for city. Comfortable room and I loved the unusual, modern artwork in every area of hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Hotel well run and in a great location for a city break. Staff do not speak much English but were very helpful and pleasant. Single rooms were very small and bed was as small as they come! But very nice shower bathroom so overall good for just a short stay.
very convenient for the most interesting part of the old city and within walking distance of the most important historical and cultural sites; a wide choice of bars and restaurants close by, and a characterful cocktail bar just across the street! the street is very busy almost all the time, so it was noisy during the early hours of the morning, making sleep difficult
not a lot I had thought it would be an unusual place to stay, from having seen the photos on the Internet. However, when I was there in person, I found the whole place had a seedy and tacky feel. The art hanging all over the hotel was very poor. Combined with the red bedcovers and the burn hole in one of them from a cigarette, we did not really enjoy our stay. Also, the wall was paper thin between us and the room next door. Finally, the holder for holding up the shower head was broken, which was a bit annoying, but as we were only staying for the one night and were tired, we didn't bother to complain.
Location of hotel Cleanliness of hotel The guy working the night shift was very co-operative and pleasant, he helped us with a minor problem in the room and he suggested places to eat out. We encountered three members of staff during our visit, two of them very pleasant and attentive to our requests. The girl working the desk when we checked out was dismissive to the point of bordering on rude.
Location Location to my friends apartment No windows in the room to the outside made my wife feel 'closed in' or clausterphobic.
The decor It was so noisy we could not sleep well - this is the reason I wouldn't recommend it . There may have been quieter rooms at the back of the hotel - we were on the street
Very convenient position. Very unusual design - exciting place to stay in.. Good facilities. Breakfasts could be better and in a better room.
Central location. Would like to have had a room which didn't face on to the street as the street was noisy.
The staff was very helpful and the location was perfect! Nothing to comment here..I liked it a lot.
Great value for money. The staff was excellent, parking very close. Can recommend this hotel to anyone.....only 2 mins walk to the cathedral
they didnt clean the towels
Excellent position too! Didn't get to use Hotel parking option, found on-strret space instead so can't comment. On that note, - maybe a detailed map (poss last 1/2 kilometre) to get you to the front door. Didn't have much of a view from my room, didn't worry me so much as I was only there overnight, - something you might want to think about if your staying longer.
Location, comfort of rooms, price, lift, helpful staff. No public rooms i.e lounges etc.No cafeteria/restaurant, but a good cafeteria across the road. I would certainly recommend this hotel. No complaints at all. Great value for money in an excellent quiet location
Very centrally located!
Room was clean and suitable for an overnight stay - the bathroom was particularly good!! The bedspreads had a couple of minor cigarette burns but otherwise all was good
Staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Location was close to everything I wanted to see. This seemed quite expensive compared to other establishments providing similar facilities.
Friendly staff, quick check in, sound local knowledge Bed side lamps broken/no bulbs
Very nice staff. Location excellent. Rooms clean and nice
helpful staff, hotel within walking distance of city centre family room not available as booked so had to accept 2 seperate rooms with our 2 children. Bed in room broken and had to be resited further apart from family. Parking not secure with late night revellers entering car park and vomiting on vehicles.
The best thing about this hotel is location, just 10 minutes walk from Malaga castles, city historical centre, and the beach. It is very nice and clean, it looks better in reality than in pictures:-) The staff was very nice, but they could speak more English. The hotel would be even better if they served breakfast.
Great comfort and location comparing to other hotels we've seen in Spain.
clean room, acces to the internet and helpful receptionist had no hair dryer in the room and view from bedroom window..:(
Location, price. Very easy to reach hotel by bus from airport. Bad smell in the room.
The position is strategic, next to the Plaza de Toros and few minutes from the center (even if you have to cross a noisy tunnel) The room is basic for a 3 star. The bathroom was not particularly clean and full of ants. I have seen much better 3 stars hotels...
Good location, large room on top floor of the hotel, staff helpful, cleanliness good, small balcony A man in the breakfast bar recommended by the hotel was rude and "couldn't care less" so we only ate there once. There was a light from a fuse box (?) above the main door which shone in the bedroom all night, there was only one hairdryer in the hotel which my friend borrowed and had to return immediately. There were also ants on the bedside tables and in the bathroom. These were quite minor aggravations though.
Great location, very reasonable price and friendly staff. Looks like all rooms have balconies overlooking the port. Didn't replace shower gel, shampoo etc every day.
Good location in a central and very quite area. Cleaning room is set in the morning late and the early afternoon.
Nice location. Small but convenient.
honesty, cleaness, location,
the room was very comfortable and nicely decorated, as was the rest of the building. parking is a challenge if you have a car.
This was far better than the two star rating. The rooms were excellent and well furnished as was the hotel throughout. A five minute walk to the beach and about fifteen minutes to the city cenre. Local buses stop outside. There is a roof terrace overlooking the sea. Free internet on request. No bar or resturant. The furniture on the roof terrace was worn and needs replacing. Some of the sun beds were broken.Nine euros for breakfast was excessive, there are plenty of bars nearby which are much cheaper.
The size the location
It has a familiar ambient The noise of other guest
The location is excellent, close to the beach, old town and park. The hotel has some charm, is clean, and features patios with some rooms. The staff is helpful as well. Parking is on the street, which can be good, but spots can at times be difficult to find on weekends. Access to WiFi is poor, It is ironic that the wifi in another hotel was used to book this one, but Hotel California hasn't yet caught up to the world to offer free, easily accessed internet.
Me and my wife, we were surprised (in the good sense) by the quality of service. The staff is friendly. The building, even though old, but clean and neat. The rooms are perfectly cleaned daily. 5 minutes walk from beach. Our room was facing the street. At nights it was really noisy. Had to use ear plugs. There is no pool in the hotel, but this is a minor issue (on the roof there is a shower and a couple of hammocks with a tent). Internet access (except the WiFi) would be very useful.
value for money; near the beach; good air-conditioning no ramp from the street to the entrance (would be inconvenient if you have heavy luggage); booked for double-bed but was given twin-bed room; heard annoying toilet piping noise once in a while; lengthy walk to the old town center
the hotel is a little gem.with easy access to the seafront and to the tourist attractions. a lovely small hotel
pleasant hotel, very close to the beach, good breakfast.
Kitchen, Living room area, walking distance to downtown 8 minutes. The owner was very helpful. Kitchen with amenities with private spaces in refrigerator and storage. Laundry done by staff for 6 Euros with care was better than finding Laundromat in town.
Location excellent. very individual hotel -lovely patio wooden beams etc.Staff very helpful. Nothing really. My room was a twin for a solo traveller. Might have been a bit small for a couple.
Very friendly and helpful staff Room was cold and draughty, Heating was inadequate.
Very nice staff, clean and quiet hotel, beautifully decorated hotel and the localization of the hotel. Including breakfast will make this hotel very attractive!
A very interesting little city hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere very pleasant.
Located in a quiet sidestreet near the centre, charming building and rooms, nice breakfast, very friendly and helpful personnel Almost none, only the lever tab/faucet of the bathtub was not ok.
The hotel was rather small, as was the room. The girl on reception was outstanding, by far the best that we encountered whilst overseas.
Typical residential building in the central part of the city, interesting stylish decoration of the rooms, quiet, within walking distance from all main attractions in the centre, hotel manager was helpful. Good value for money. Room was not very spacious, addition of breakfast would have been a benefit. Mind that Calle Hinestrosa is a tiny pedestrian street inside a residendential block, hense you have to be very attentive searching for it even with GPS and usual parking difficulties.
Although the surrounding area was rather run-down, once inside the hotel was brand new and well appointed although it was rather strange not having staff in the building all the time, and without any refreshments available it would be nice to have basic tea and coffee making facilities available in the room. The receptionist was extremely polite and helpful and spoke excellent English! Our room was rather noisy during the evening as it the building backed onto the town's theatre and we could hear the acts and applause very clearly! Would recommend hotel to people who didn't require luxury on site but wanted to explore slightly alternative old Malaga!
I found the hotel centrally located to the major tourist attractions and shopping centre, the hotel is very clean and the rooms are comfortable, well decorated and spotless the staff are friendly and very helpfull. Breakfast is very nice fresh bread good selection and nice coffee no complaints
We stayed in this hotel for two nights and we found it to be an excellent choice. It is located close to all major attractions. The hotel manager, Ignacio was extremely helpful and accomodating. We would highly recommend this place!
Very tiny room that was threadbare. Charge you exra 5 E if you check in after 9, but you don't know that until after you book. No toiletries, no breakfast
Great location, next to the cathedral and Picasso museum, and just around the corner from the Alcazaba. In the bit we were in, the walls were paper thin and a lot of noise from outside came in.
very nice located, best view over malaga, absolutely clean room, very friendly family run hotel!!
Very warm friendly atmosphere. The rooms were beautiful. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was excellent the bread and cakes were very fresh. The hotel owners pets roamed freely and his grandchildren played in the lounge which made it feel like home from home. The christmas decorations were beautiful (nativity scenes etc). We will definately be staying there again when we visit Malaga in 2008. No
Monte Victoria is a quiet little hotel with a generous sitting room and a beautiful garden. I disagree with earlier comments about distance to the city and the elevation. On foot it takes about 15 minutes from the hotel to the city centre. The only climbing is een set of stairs, to avoid a loop in the road. There is really no reason to take a hotel closer to the city centre unless walking is difficult in general.
The owners are very nice and helpful about tourist activities. The garden is beautiful, and they also have nice rooms with terraces. We loved this hotel.
Despite my exhaustion when I arrived and the hotel being much farther from the airport and the center of Malaga than I thought, the owners were very kind and did everything possible to make me comfortable. They showed me several places for me to get a bite to eat late in the evening and offered to serve me breakfast earlier than normal as I had to leave early the next morning for the airport. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the hotel, views and location. The location of the hotel was much farther from the airport than expected especially since I was there for one night. The views were beautiful so I'm sure there was plenty to see and do in that area, I just did not have the time.
Spectacular view fro; a very nice location on the outskirts of the center. Lovely terace that can be used for a tasty breakfast. Nice and helpful owners.
Very friendly staff. Helpful and informative. Delightful room and lovely breakfast.
A quiet haven in the city. Breakfast on the beautiful patio with views over the city and castle was a real treat.
I loved the cat in hotel. Waterfront view side room is better Number of staff was poor, each were nice
Freindly family hosts Extremely bad parking facility
(clean) kitchen available, very new and stylish looking location is a bit far from city center and beach (20 - 30 mins by foot)
Beautiful setting with jasmine in the courtyard. It was very loud at night, as all the doors slammed and they played music loudly until midnight.
Staff excellent very friendly and helful. Decor was delightfully funky. Room too small, bathroom very poor just seperated from bed by glass brick wall. No breakfast
Really cosy place with a laid-back athmosphere. Calm street with a 10 min walk to the city center.
value for money
Staff was very helpfull, the guest house is also situated in the centre of the city, the street was calm so there were no disturbing noises, everything was very clean, very recomendable for staying in Malaga !
Nice decoration, a lot of attentions was put into details Hotel was a bit far away from the city center and in the opposite site of the train / bus / airport. If you are travelling with luggage it is absolutely necessary to take 2 buses to get there. Earplugs are a must.
Friendly helpful staff. Good location. Use of Internet Desperately small room, badly fitted creaking doors which might seem irrelevant but not when coming late or visiting shared bathroom when everybody is asleep! Greatly overpriced.
The room and common rooms were clean, well kept and nicely fornitured. The shared bathroom were spotless, there was a kitchen at disposal of the guests, internet connection and a nice terrace. Maybe a little bit difficult to be found as it's not exactly central (but very reasonable distance from it).
clean and quiet. Wireless connection available. Staff is very friendly. Is located in a street difficult to find in some tourist maps of the city. However, any taxi driver would find it quickly.
It's really unique lodgement despite promoted as simple "B&B" hotel. This house like an family-home even more. Their own atmosphere, their closest surroundings, hosts, cat, bird, dog... In some rooms there is no too much window, so the lack of daylight a little bit strange.
friendly and helpful owner
Small friendly hotel.Owners were very helpful people.
This hotel can not be a 2 stars hotel. Private parking costs 15 Euro-very expensive.
the owner. the ethenticity of rooms no door on ensuite bathroom
The personal attention of the owners. The style of each room was stunning
Owners are proud of their place and anxious to help guests. Late night street noise - but that's typical for Spain
Very friendly and welcoming. Amazing atmosphere. Shower needed a curtain to avoid flooding the floor
This is a very central hotel with friendly, helpful management. The building is extremely attractive, with a good 'feel' to it. The room was a little on the spartan side - but acceptable for the price.
The owner was very helpful
