I only needed a one way rental to get from Lake Elsinore to San Diego. I got a free upgrade even though I only needed it for a couple hours just to get me there. The staff were very friendly and professional.10.0 Wonderful

There is nothing to like when you don't have a car for my reservation. You do ONE thing, rent cars, and you couldn't even do that. Fail.Cons:
BOTH locations in the town (Murrieta/Temecula, CA) could not accommodate a reserved car. Excuse, WE ran out of cars. Yes, just like the Seinfeld episode. As I sat and watched people return cars I was flabbergasted that the clerk at the counter WOULD not offer to make it right. She said she had an SUV but it would be full price. Every other rental company that I've dealt with over the last 30+ years has always offered to upgrade the vehicle if the one reserved is not available. I even offered to pay double my reserved rate for the SUV and was turned down. Which is good I suppose because I will never spend another dime with AVIS.2.0 Poor

The vehicle was nice. Not the expected rental but it fit everything we had to make it back to Texas with.Cons:
The service picking up the vehicle could have been a lot better. Only one person working because everyone else was at lunch or “called in”. A warning before renting needs to be advertised about a major credit card is needed to rent anything over a full-size vehicle and that they do a soft credit check, needing at least a 650 to rent the vehicle. This wasn’t known until we got there. Thankfully things worked out but we had to downsize the vehicle because I don’t carry a credit card. Returning the vehicle was easy and great. It was just picking the vehicle up that made this experience so bad.4.4 Mediocre

This Hertz location was under staffed. I waited for an hour when I went to pick up my car which made me late for an appointment. Then had to wait for them to go to the gas station because the car was on empty. The outside of the car was clean. But the inside wasn’t cleaned very well...4.4 Mediocre

I enjoyed the overall friendliness of the staff however, the location is truly understaffed. The rental prices took over 3 hours from start to finish.Cons:
After a 3 hour rental process which included being picked up. I got into the rental which was filthy. There were stains on all of the seats. I cleaned the steering wheel with a Clorox wipe and it was brown by the time I was done!4.0 Mediocre

The vehicle was clean and had low mileage on it.Cons:
What was reserved and pre paid for is not what we recieved. We specifically wanted a Van becuase we had luggage and people, not an SUV. When we areived to pick up the vehicle they didnt have a van and only option was an SUV or sedan. Travel was uncomfortable due to the lack of luggage space.3.2 Poor

The pick up location was hard to find inside the Honda Dealer. After locating it I stood there for almost 20 minutes without being acknowledged. Then was told to have a seat. When they finally returned he asked for my card and ID. Then proceeded to swipe my card without telling me why. It went downhill from there. I was so frustrated with the poor communication and customer service. I left and called for a refund. The customer service agent I spoke to them was excellent. Resolved my complaint and I left.
