Pros: Incredible property and location. The staff is friendly and welcoming, house and rooms are beautifully furnished in a rustic theme and the views are amazing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tina welcomed us like family. Mark, the owner, was a delight. BUT, the star of the stay was Amadeo, the Congo African Grey parrot who's talking was hilarious. The perfect Valentine's present for my bride.
Cons: Not a thing. This place is what you think of when you think of something PERFECT.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Water was good and hot, bed was soft, access to drinks was great, staff was friendly
Cons: Due to extreme weather, was slightly chilly but blankets kept us warm. Gas fireplaces were more atmospheric rather than putting out heat
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality was well beyond our expectations. Tina Marsh made us feel like regular guests at the Inn even though this was our first visit. she's the best. The breakfasts both mornings were nothing short of a gourmet offering. We loved both of them. We thought the room was beautiful and we give it high marks for ambiance (very romantic). When we arrived, the view of the valley was so beautiful we spent a few moments sitting on a bench enjoying the panorama. Not to be missed.
Cons: We like everything!

Pros: So friendly and accommodating!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Appreciated the warm welcome and the convenient bike parking in the rear (with a tarp available). Outstanding breakfasts, including a graciously served early one when we had to be out ahead of the usual hour. Everything in Shepherdstown is within an easy walk including good restaurants, book store, library, the university, and the Potomac River and canal path. A delightful inn and small town for a visit.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The B&B has a charming relaxing feel to it and the innkeepers are warm and welcoming. Its location to the quaint town makes strolling the streets pleasant.
Cons: My only regret was that my on-line reservation described the $--- a night room as having a gas fireplace in it. The room (#5), did not have a fireplace. So somewhere in the reservation, the ball was dropped and I was truly disappointed about this.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were so friendly and accommodating. Service was excellent. Breakfast was out of this world! It was very interesting hearing about the history of the bed and breakfast. Will definitely return.
Cons: I would have loved to have had a TV in the room, but did know ahead of time that there wasn't.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding Hospitality and breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.

The room was beautifully decorated and the beds were super comfortable, the owners were very welcoming and hospitable, and the breakfast was excellent! The location was perfect, right in the middle of town and near the shops and restaurants. I will definitely stay here again and recommend this place to others.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, soft, fluffy and a perfect night sleep. The food (breakfast) was beyond words. It was fresh, and exquisite. The host and hostess of the Bed and Breakfast were welcoming. They provided information (sites to see, places to visit) and were not intruding. They provided a mid-afternoon snack for anyone who was interested.
Cons: Nothing, there was nothing not to like about this place.

Pros: Anna did a great job. I got in late and she was there to meet me. I had to leave before breakfast and she came in early to make me some breakfast before I had to leave at 7:30PM.
Cons: Small room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was outstanding
Cons: We will choose a larger room next time we come, and we definitely plan to do that!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is absolutely wonderful. It is not similar to any of the hundreds of hotels and guesthouses I have visited all over the world. The house is beautiful. All furniture, decorations and furnishings come from the 18th century or are stylized for this age. The nicest place is the porch, which is a smaller version of the porch from "Gone with the Wind". All women can feel like Scarlet O'Hara
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely typical house. Excellent breakfast. Michael - who took care of our breakfast and checkout - has ben a perfect host.
Cons: The bathroom was not very comfortable. It is private, but not in the room. It’s across the corridor. This was not clear to us from Booking.com website when we reserved. The shower - described as "a luxurious shower” - is in a short bath tub hence not big, it's under a pitched/sloping roof not suitable for people taller than 168 cm, and it’s in the dark due to a thick curtain.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Totally beautiful classic B&B with friendly and attentive staff. We had the Poet’s Loft which was gorgeously decorated with a little Arabian Nights flair and a stunning modern en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was very romantic as it was just cool enough to sit at our own private table on the porch.
Cons: Bed was a little lumpy.
7.0 Good
Cons: Poor lighting & air circulation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is such a wonderful surprise in every way. Stunning decor, gracious service, almost otherworldly in it's level of beauty and style.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The styling of the home, and the surrounding and the homey feeling of the place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My mom and I absolutely LOVED our stay!! The house is beautiful, breakfast was delicious and amazing and exceeded my expectations. Monique is wonderful. I can’t wait to go back. Also her dog violet is adorable!!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: With an awesome location and views, the Ledge was a perfect b&b for our weekend getaway. The rooms are comfortable, the innkeeper Annie is absolutely lovely and a fantastic cook.
Cons: Some small things around the property could use an upgrade (like window A/C units), but not a big deal..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Ledge house is a total oasis. Annie, the host, is gracious and wonderful to chat with! Highly recommend staying at the Ledge House! We are already planning our next trip.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house itself is beautiful. The decor is the way you would want your own house to look! (If only!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I cannot say enough good things about our Ledge House experience. Annie cooked an awesome breakfast every morning and went above and beyond to make our 30th anniversary special. We stayed for 3 nights in Suite 1 with a superbly comfortable bed and our own entrance and private table on the deck. After long days of hiking and biking, we spent our late afternoons back at the B&B in the rockers on the main deck drinking in the view and our cocktails. Annie surprised us with cheese and grapes along with a glass of wine on our Anniversary afternoon and when we arrived back from dinner she had left a sweet surprise for us - apple cheesecake with caramel sauce which we enjoyed (surprise) on the deck!
Cons: Everything was fantastic. We will definitely return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location above Harpers Ferry with a view of the Potomac. It’s an old comfortable house with wraparound porches. Secluded with lots of trees yet minutes to downtown. Warm staff who are very responsive to your needs.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: View, location, comfort and hospitality....all great!
Cons: NA
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Annie was awesome from checking in to hospitality to conversation. She made the visit extra special! Location was perfect and the ambiance was lovely. Loved spending time outside with Marie and Harper!!
Cons: Shower head was not ideal. Jacuzzi tub would be a good investment. Bed was too hard for me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Ledge House is nestled in a quiet location with a breathtaking view of the river gorge and surrounding mountains. It is a brief walk into Harpers Ferry. The room we stayed in (Suite 1) was absolutely lovely -- spacious, beautifully decorated, huge and comfortable bed and a door leading onto the deck. The Suite includes a sitting area and a large bathroom. The Innkeeper, Annie, is an absolute delight! She made our stay even lovelier with her keen wit and wonderful personality. She also cooked a delicious breakfast for us. We will definitely return!
Cons: No complaints!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything but I particularly liked the verandah where you could sit and look out at the view. I would have liked to have stayed longer than our one night. The bed was very comfortable and the cooked breakfast was delicious. Annie, our hostess, was friendly and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A little apprehensive as we drove up Henry Clay. But as soon as we arrived at The Ledge House, all our apprehension was put to rest. Nice location, accessible to Lower town Harper's Ferry, close (walking distance) to all the sights. The icing on the cake was, the accommodation was great...clean, comfortable, homely and safe. Annie, the Housekeeper was very nice, welcoming, available to assist with whatever we needed, and made a nice breakfast for us in the morning. Had breakfast together with the other guests, and that in and of itself added flavor to our visit. She even kept yummy snacks available for any time of the day. Thanks, Annie. Highly recommend the Ledge House for your visit to Harper's Ferry.

Pros: Spencer and Beth were superb hosts. They went the extra mile with attention to detail. While we were there, we were treated like family.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, custom care
Cons: I perfer a soft bed. My mom likes firm though. The sheets were silky cotton very comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our favorite aspect of this B&B were Spencer and Beth. We were in from Texas for a funeral of a cherished friend, and they were so warm and accommodating, they made us feel well cared for, which eased some of the burden. The property was beautiful, private and well maintained, and the breakfasts were delicious! We will definitely return for a future stay.
Cons: A working clock in the room would have been nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Not just a hotel, but an experience. Lodgings, hosts, food were all terrific. A jewel in the rural Virginia.
7.0 Good
Pros: Warm welcome, great food served for breakfast, and a lovingly developed property drawing from past and present in scenic location.
Cons: Despite the wonderful breakfast,fellowship-style approach, where all guests eat and converse together at 8.30 am, was something with which we were a little uncomfortable. Bedroom was quite small, with efforts to maintain original wooden door resulting in a very visible gap to hallway, thus limiting sense of privacy as it was beside the kitchen area where the owners gathered and chatted. Very limited WiFI signal in bedroom although this may not have been the case in other bedrooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful, the owners are wonderful. There's a perfect balance between warm hospitality and respect for privacy, which is hard to accomplish in a B&B. Terrific experience.
Cons: Fewer McMansions on the drive through Loudoun county! Can't be helped.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly
Cons: The rooms need updated- especially the bathroom

Rose Cottage - Fairplay - Building
6
9.7 Excellent (37 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Fairplay, Rose Cottage is within a 10-minute drive of Antietam National Battlefield and Hagerstown Premium Outlets. Featured amenities include a computer station, laundry facilities, and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our experience at the Rose Cottage was wonderful. The Vineyard room itself was large with a nice bathroom attached and an over sized walk-in shower. A large sitting room was offered with a TV (never needed to be turned on) and several bookshelves with all sorts of reading materials at one's fingertips. The furnishings were comfortable and a small refrigerator held a sweet treat upon our return from the theater on Saturday evening. Breakfast on Sunday morning was delightful! Mushroom and cheese omelet with sugar cured Pennsylvania bacon, sweet rolls and bagel, plentiful fruit and just right coffee. And the blackberries were huge! Our Hostess, Kathy, was there when we needed attention but nearby when we were not in need. The bucolic setting was perfect for relaxing and lingering over the breakfast before setting out for our day's adventure. All in all, an experience my wife and I both agreed that we want to partake of again next year when we return for the CATF. Thank you, Kathy Yaraghi!
Cons: There was only one minor issue that could have brought the whole experience to a perfect 10, and it's more a personal preference than anything, but the softness of our bed was just not my style. I like a FIRM mattress and the bed, while in every other way fine, was just too soft. With that being said, this issue is NOT a deal breaker by any means, and we would return and sleep in this room again to experience all that Rose Cottage offers otherwise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kathy the innkeeper offered wonderful hospitality and is an amazing cook! She made to die for stuffed french toast one day and delicious omelets the next. The whole stay felt like we were at a beautiful British manor in the country and we loved every minute!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our host was great - helpful with recommendations for dinner and provided a great breakfast. The room was immaculate and we enjoyed breakfast on the patio with our fellow guests. We would highly recommend Rose Cottage and would love to return.
Cons: Can't think of any negatives.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kathie was a great hostess and we truly enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a perfect place to stay for a weekend out of DC. Super clean, cute room and common area, and very relaxing. Kathy, the owner, is super sweet and provides guests with a beautiful breakfast. Everything was just wonderful and I highly recommend staying here when visiting the Antietam, Harper’s Ferry, Maryland/Virginia wine/brewery country. Can’t wait to go back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were very pleased with our stay at Rose Cottage! We were promptly greeted and shown to our very nice room. The Hostess was very cordial happy to share area sites and recommended an excellent restaurant! We had stayed at another popular hotel but will stay at the Rose Cottage from now on when visiting the Area! We met other guests while we munched our wonderful breakfast on the patio who were equally pleased with the B&B!
Cons: Yard swing could be replaced .
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean and bed was really comfortable. The host, Kathy, was nice and welcoming.
Cons: Breakfast wasn't the best but it was okay. The view though is priceless. So beautiful and relaxing environment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds are exceptional for an evening stroll and the patio is perfect for an elegant breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately clean. We enjoyed the sitting area for watching World Cup soccer and having a frig available was a plus for our road trip.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an excellent B&B in western Maryland. Great access to Antietam Battlefield and the CATF (Contemporary American Theater Festival) at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown WV). Kathy is an excellent host, with treats at night and a fine breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast was marvelous. The owner, Kathy, welcomes you like you're family and makes sure you have everything you need while you're there. She asked about breakfast preferences (always fresh and delicious!), provided cold bottles of water every day, offered dessert in the evenings, and was always happy to give local recommendations for food end entertainment. I stayed with my best friend for a "Girl's Getaway" weekend and we're already talking about when you're going back!
Cons: I didn't like that I couldn't stay longer! There was nothing to dislike about my stay! :)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location to downtown, but on quiet street. Nice area for morning walk. Lovely home and owners very accommodating.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the room with a balcony. It was wonderful to be able to sit out on the porch and see the back yard.
Cons: It was hard to get a word in between the owner and another male guest at breakfast. They dominated the conversation and didn’t leave much room for anyone else to talk. I think I said one sentence before I was interrupted by the owner. He was not a good listener.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This place is has it all - good location within walking distance of downtown, friendly+interesting hosts, yummy breakfast, and all the dolls you could hope for. I was expecting all that actually, but was pleasantly surprised by two more things: nice snacks/drinks/games available anytime downstairs, and the water/plumbing is great (not the case for many Victorian homes!).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast delicious. Bed comfortable. It was hot outside but very cool in house. Nice place
Cons: Distance from town was not too far but weather was hot so it seemed longer
6.3 Good
Pros: The location.
Cons: The dolls.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The proprietors, Phil and Betty, were very hands on and had everything to do with an enjoyable stay. Their priority is their guests and their comfort. Great breakfasts and good guidance for activities and restaurants. Dinner choices were just a short walk away. Comfortable bed and claw foot tub. Good porch for sitting. Phil and Betty keep the property in good shape.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owner was very friendly, accommodating, and helpful with suggestions for restaurants or any questions. Very clean and soft, comfortable bed. Wonderful, home cooked breakfasts. Coffee, tea, water bottles, pitcher of cold lemon water, and homemade cookies were available in the kitchen upon arrival and for anytime. Good location to town.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great. The location is not too far from the center of town, and their sister place, The Ledge, was where I tried to make reservations but they were fully-booked. We were on bikes, so location to all the action is important. However, the climb up to Long Horse was great! They are not chintzy with their toiletries. There were 6 bars of soap available and probably the same amount for big-sized bottles of shampoos (different kinds). And the towels were not paper thin either like some places I've been to.
Cons: The only negative I had was that the shower diverter didn't work. No matter what you did, only water came from the shower, not the spout.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, plentiful parking, complimentary wine, water, and cookies upon arrival, several restaurants and a bar in close walking distance, and easy access to downtown Harper's Ferry.
Cons: Our only minor quibble was that the bathroom soap (for shower) should be upgraded--the cheap, tiny soap provided was not effective.
7.5 Good
Pros: We were in suite 3 on the 3rd floor. The furnace and A.C. unit are there. It is very noisy when on and we couldn't find the thermostat until about 3am. It is on the second floor. We turned off the fan. The temperature was set for 68 and it didn't get there on the second floor but the third floor got quite a bit chiller You might leave instructions for future guests.
Cons: See above. The bed gathered us toward the middle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful, sophisticated BnB. The staff were super friendly and the breakfast was awesome.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fabulous and the staff were extremely friendly and hospitable. Would most definitely stay there again.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostess, Megan was very friendly. Breakfast was excellent and served in a lovely dining room. I would stay here again if I came back to the area. Other guests spent a day in Charlestown, WV, which gives more entertainment options, besides visiting Harper's Ferry.
Cons: The Inn is less than a mile from Harper's Ferry old town area. What I didn't know was that the walk is downhill, and steep in parts. I thought we could park at the Inn and walk, but that wasn't possible, unless you are very fit and hike more than stroll. This didn't discourage us, just had to adjust our driving/parking plans. My error for not knowing the geography of the area.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed was amazing, and the host was very helpful.
Cons: Distance from town center is a bit long but not too bad
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious and served right on time. The breakfast room was newly built, and pleasant with windows looking out. The historic house has rooms with books and a pleasant mixture of old and new decoration.
Cons: Heat was high when we first arrived in our rooms, but was fine the rest of the weekend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a great getaway. The staff was friendly and professional. The breakfast was excellent. The location was perfect. The Inn was clean and the bed was comfortable.

7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were amazing Good location. Big rooms If staying a while we’ll equipped
Cons: No room safe The air con in my room didn’t work The pillows were old and not comfy Biggest dislike was the obvious food on carpet in bedroom by bed and kitchen Noise from the air con in room was so loud (222) Sadly I wouldn’t come back
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean hotel with nice swimming pool and jacuzzi. Complimentary popcorn was a huge hit with our son - thanks!
Cons: Breakfast was mediocre. Hotel should invest in a second waffle machine and second waffle dispenser. The line was always too long for a hungry six year old.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The shower is amazing! We over all loved the room!
Cons: The light bulb was out above the dinning room table.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The night time staff closed the pool and whirlpool area early so we could not enjoy it the night of our stay. Since we go up early the next morning we were able to enjoy it then. We would have liked to enjoy it both times. The bed was very uncomfortable.

7.0 Good
Pros: Room is nice.
Cons: I do not like that weekend housekeeping is by request only. I felt uncomfortable asking for it, so I did not. I feel that there should be a discount since you do not receive full service.it seems the hotel benefits from weekend rates and less services provided. Receptionist did let us know we could come to the desk for towels and trash bags. As the weekend progressed trashcans overflowed in public areas. Public restroom and pool area not attended. Breakfast was meh with little to choose from and very crowded with poor seating availability. Not impressed.
6.8 Good
Cons: Room seemed very small for a suite
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and quiet roomy.
Cons: The sliding door to the bathroom did not close. We really objected to the selected parking which made it very confusing. We all pay the same rate and should be able to park wherever we please regardless of how eco-friendly our vehicles are! It was very annoying an inconvenient!!!!
6.8 Good
Pros: I loooooove the lady at the front desk. She was enthusiastic and caring.
Cons: The bed sheets were not clean :(

Pros: Very clean, had great location. Staff were amazing.
Cons: The room was a little warmer than I like for sleeping, even though I had it set for 66 it stayed 71.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very clean, shower was nice and easy to use.
7.0 Good
Cons: The breakfest wasn't good, everything was not Marriott's standards. And if I knew the hotel allow dogs, I would have never stayed here. Dogs arent people. Hotels are a place to relax, not be on edge bc of dogs. They are unpredictable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for all of the events I was attending. The room was clean and quiet. Great place to stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, spacious, friendly staff
Cons: Hard beds. No pull through to unload luggage and of course it was pouring rain when we arrived with my elderly grandmother. Too bad because besides the hard beds and pull up, it was a 10 out of 10.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is nice and well equipped. The lobby is very spacious. They have a nice picnic area at the back. I also likes the indoor swimming pool and the exercise room. I would definitely come back here.

Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was cleaned every day Free coffee available at entrance Close to shops
Cons: Hallways could use vacuuming Coffee and tea were not replenished automatically in room
9.5 Excellent
Cons: There was not one full-length mirror anywhere. We were there for a wedding so it would have been nice to have a mirror somewhere in the room--the only one available was in the bathroom. We travel quite a bit and this is not the norm. It was enough of an issue that it could be a deal-breaker for a future booking.

Pros: This hostel was perfect! Exactly what I needed for the weekend, The free breakfast was excellent with a lot of options. Every night there's a campfire, smores equipment and ingredients provided. The airconditioning is great and much appreciated. Staff was WONDERFUL. If ever come back to Harpers Ferry, I will 100% stay here again.
Cons: Travelers should be aware that the hostel is actually a little distance from Harpers Ferry - a 10 minute drive and an hour walk, give or take depending on walking speed (though granted, it is mostly a very pretty walk.) Also be warned that the hostel is closed from 10 AM to 5 PM - not an issue if you're out and about, but may be if you wanted to spend extra time indoors there.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly staff, good breakfast, useful information on local activities. The hostel is nicely furnished and there are a lot of interesting people doing the Appalachian trail passing through (or certainly there in mid-May when we were there).
Cons: Although you're relatively close to the Appalachian trail its a short drive to Harper's Ferry so a car is necessary to get to/from the park (as in most places in the states). Theres a river tour operator, liquor store and petrol station less than 5 minutes drive.

Pros: The host was very friendly, welcoming and full of info about the area after inquiring of our activity intentions.
Cons: No dislikes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The keeper let us stay in the front sunroom until very late at night playing cards and having wine. It was New Years Eve and we got an unexpected bonus fireworks show right through the front window of the house at midnight. The room had sliding glass doors that shut it off from the rest of the house so we could enjoy ourselves and not disturb anyone. The keeper was also very helpful with suggestions for dinner. The price of the two rooms we got was very reasonable and the house and rooms were very clean.

1.0 Poor
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: I booked the room at 10:30PM, drove 32 miles and the hotel was CLOSED!!!!!!!! Went on hotels website and it states it closes at 10:00pm!!!! This day and age to have this happen on the internet is pretty bad!
5.0 Okay
Pros: location to Shepherd University and beautiful natural surroundings.
Cons: Room furnishings were worn and the room was small without a microwave. Restaurant is across the parking lot making it unable to reheat food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool, and the convenience and quality of the restaurant.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location was great overlooking the river
Cons: Bathroom and toilet needed cleaning, dirty toilet bowl and it appeared that no one had ducted or wiped down many areas of the bathroom
6.8 Good
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Building with our room was old and needed remodeling. Paperthin walls, no sound isolation at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool The pool bar The food The dining patio The brewery is beautiful Cleanliness Friendly staff Comfortable bed Great location
Cons: Guest rooms were a little outdated
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Pool was small but excellent. Staff very professional and friendly room clean.
Cons: Property smaller than expected. Dated décor for the price.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Servers in dining room at dinner and breakfast were excellent. Presentation was important to them as was our comfort and every need. We were there for our 54 Wedding Anniversary and we felt very special. But staff were not aware....this is just the way they treated all their visitors. Cudos! The Electric Plugins for our VOLT was a great surprise. Great use of solar panels!
Cons: Flower gardens were very overgrown, mostly by the lodges....end of July so maybe expected, but very disappointing to see tall weeds and hedges unkempt as we strolled the premises. Our personal sitting area outside our room was less than inviting..only saving grace were many huge pots of colorful flowers at doorways, near pool and out door eating area which were beautiful. Maybe their gardeners are due to visit soon.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Always a good stay at the Bavarian Inn. Food was great, staff was accommodating, hotel was clean.
Cons: Inn was a little pricey. Can’t stay there as often as I would like.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Bavarian Inn was a lovely place for us- a newly wed couple looking for a quick, restful getaway! The pool opens at 8AM and we spent the day in the pool, taking in the view. The pool is a quiet, luxurious atmosphere. Our room had a fireplace, couch and roomy balcony as well. The staff was very nice, and the overall atmosphere felt more like a resort rather than a hotel. We didn't eat at the restaurants there, but they had nice options.
Cons: The ONLY downside to this place is the prices for drinks/food. For the amount you're paying to stay there, you'd think the food and drinks would be a little bit less expensive. We ordered a turkey club sandwich and 2 (alcoholic) orange crush cocktails from the pool bar and our bill was $35- yikes! We were hoping to snack and enjoy drinks by the pool that we wouldn't normally make at home, but because of these prices we stuck with lots of water for hydration
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great eggwhite omelette in the restaurant. Loved the pool. Our room was upgraded with a FABULOUS view of the Potomac.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely . Great view. Staff friendly and welcoming.
Cons: We ordered drinks and a cheese plate before the theater... we were very disappointed with the cheese plate. It took over 25 minutes to get the cheese board and it was less than acceptable. The cheese looked like ends piece , scraps , surrounded by six blue berries .. both presentation , taste and quality were poor.

Pros: Beds super comfy.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything, except the shower head.
Cons: A bit pricey for what are usually pay at Hilton. Still freshly built or remodeled. Very nice Also I'm 5'0. Cannot rack shower head on ceiling. Built for very tall (thin km NBA) people.
6.3 Good
Pros: Room was lovely, big and clean. Maids were very friendly and made you feel welcome. 24hr coffee available, basketball, BBQs you can use, pool - all excellent but not obvious or advertised.
Cons: The breakfast was really not up to what I would expect from somewhere charging so much, no bacon! Reception staff were not friendly at all. Not enough carts for so many rooms, receptionist offered no help to locate one. Advertises a social but notice when I get there that it's only Sunday - Thursday. TV has a really odd guide and not much choice.

Pros: Great staff. The maintenance man had just left when I was checking in and turned around and came back to turn on the hose bib, so that I could rinse of our bicycles which were very muddy from riding on the C&O Canal. 6.0 Good
Pros: Staff courteous and extremely accommodating!!! Loved the motel/motor lodge feel of place.
Cons: The room, though clean, was drab. Very little light and air conditioner was musty. It might have been since it was the first time on? but made for a very uncomfortable night sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Vary nice hotel. For the price and rating one of my better exprencess clean owner was helpful room was nice sive vary happy with everything have paid alot more for a room and not been this happy. . Will defiently stay there again when in the area ........
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean, sheets were newer, the room had newer furnishings. The bathroom had newer tub, sink and toilet. Goodsized fridge. The free breakfast was wonderful. Hardboiled eggs and sausages for low carb eaters, such as myself. The two gentlemen in charge were very helpful and kind. If I needed a one night stay I'd recommend this place. Two days or more I'd pick somewhere else, the musty smell isn't healthy. The upbeat, positive disposition of the gentleman serving the guests goes along way.
Cons: The room was very small, smelled musty, the one tiny window could not be opened. I agree with other reviews that it is a bit overpriced... should be more around $75 for such a small room, but I understand location is very important to some and it was 3 miles from Harper's Ferry.
