The room is comfortable with a refrigerator and microwave. It was clean and comfortable. Location! Location. Very clean. Basic room, which is what I expected at this price point. Well appointed, everything worked, and it was clean. Location and price good. Great location, clean, fresh and modern. Best value in town. Renovated room. Very clean. Comfortable. Facilities were very clean and beds comfortable. Great value! Comfortable, relatively quiet, not too far from town, we could have walked if we weren’t so lazy! It was a nice convenient location. Close to lots of fun stuff to do. The place was clean. Bathroom was clean. Good position, clean. Rooms were spacious and clean. Everything was great & clean. It was clean. Clean, nice appointed rooms. Literally 2 mins to harbour. Eateries across the road. Clean & comfy beds. 2 minutes to attractions. Least expensive option for the dates I was in Monterrey.
Parking lot was difficult to maneuver. No breakfast because of Covid! No breakfast because of Covid! It was strange for us that the rooms had fridges and microwaves, but no cutlery or crockery. That was a bit awkward. Had trouble getting the TV to work and finally was advised to unplug the cable box. After several tries it worked but only one channel was available. The room is not fancy. They need more help. I waited 20 minutes to check in because the poor girl was helping a customer with their TV. She should be able to get some help especially when the owner was on site coming out of his room. Wifi did not want to connect or want to stay connected the entire time we were there on all of our phones. Better breakfast options would be nice, but I understand for the price of the room that might not be possible. Regular cream and sugar for coffee, rather than the flavored cream, would be appreciated. I would prefer a danish, even an inexpensive packaged one, instead of the bars. On busy street, so noisy. Some very late night TV noise from room next door. This is an exception to the usual though. Only thing was iron didn’t work but I forgot to let them know. Requested additional (extra) pillows due to personal reasons. At time of booking facility agreed and said it could accommodate. Upon arrival we were told no extra pillows were available and whatever was in the room is all we were allowed. Not really happy with this. Smokers too close to the building. We were stuck right down the corridor where there was no light and near outside our door a man was constantly smoking weed and our room absolutely stunk of it. It’s name is a little deceiving and makes it sound close to fisherman’s wharf when it’s not. No bars and restaurants. Very noisy - people outside your room talking and general noise road noise made sleeping difficult. Room sound proofing is very poor. Every time we leave and come back the room smelled like marijuana. We had to ask for air freshener to spray to kill the scent. No real breakfast. Just cereal bars… Our room was a non smoking room and right next door they were smoking you could smell it through the bathroom and we have asthma. The WiFi was appalling! We were told we'd have WiFi in our room, but this was stretching the truth. It dropped out every 2 seconds, and if you needed to do something important, you had to literally stand outside the main office for a reliable connection. Hardly what you'd expect in a so-called first world country. But if the management cared, it's easy to fix. No extra blankets in room, but when asked for one, got one straight away. Parking was tight. Farther away from downtown and wharf area. The name makes it seem like it is close to the wharf and the aquarium which it is not. One definitely needs a car for this hotel, we were walking and it was very far. No food available, no vending machines, no soda/water machines on premises. Luckily there is a shopping center across the street back in the wooded area and we were able to eat dinner but there were no options/stores there to buy anything to drink. The front desk clerk had small bottles of water under the couch in reception area and we were able to get one of those.
