Cons:

The lady said my reservation through your site meant nothing and I was stranded at the Montgomery Airport for 24 hours.... I will not be using Kayak ever again and will not recommend this to anyone I know...

Pros:

I felt like a star ⭐️ or maybe ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ renting from this Avis. The clerk who issued my car was very knowledgeable in local amenities and optimal rental features. I walked up to my car and couldn’t believe I was riding in style. The American compact is much bigger than the European style I was expecting. Car was very modern, all the bells and whistles. Made my travels around Montgomery a pleasure.

Cons:

Adding pickup/return to the parking signs. Only because I was a little uncertain if I should park the same place I picked up. But when I couldn’t find any better guidance I just went for it and it worked out

Pros:

The staff at MGM Airport was friendly, efficient and very helpful. I liked the car, in general. The access to the car rental parking for pick up and drop off is very convenient.

Cons:

The Tire pressure light went on soon after we picked up the rental. This has happened now with the last 3 cars that I have rented from various agencies in different parts of the world, so I did not panic as when it happened the first time, however it did mean personal time taken away from my day to keep checking the tire pressure. The interior of the car smelled like previous renters had smoked in it. I know that isn't Avis' fault and they now have a document to sign for smokers. As a non-smoker however, getting into a smelly car is unpleasant.

Pick up agent in the drop off agent were very kind and extremely knowledgeable about different questions that I had prior to purchase and also after.

Cons:

The car's room but that is more than manufacturer and also my overestimating space.

Cons:

Could move a bit faster or at least with some sense of urgency to more customers out. Also was told and signed for a full tank of gas and was missing one quarter of a tank. I had already signed at the counter because who would believe they would get a car with less than a full tank.

Cons:

My flight was delayed, I made it so late to my destination that I had to cancel the rental... and guess what? they kept the money... NO REFUND, NOT EVEN A PORTION, THEY KEPT IT ALL RENTAL AND INSURANCE.

Pros:

I was impressed with the ease of picking up the car and the drop off. For some reason, some agencies can take a half hour to get you into the car. At the counter in MGM, it was easy and it was fast. The car was new, clean and performed wonderfully. Very positive experience.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE, They were not there, they did not have any cars, left stranded at the airport ( two other people as well) and now I am fighting to get my money back. Poor service, poor site ! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE, call a company directly. I can't get my money back for a car I didn't get.

Cons:

If I will not rent from your site and call the car company directly!

Cons:

I showed up. No one was at the kiosk. The sign said go to the Hertz counter. He told me Dollar didn't have a car for me, even though I had a reservation. I couldn't get anyone on the phone to refund my money. I had to call my credit card company to refund it. Dollar was a disaster.

There wasn’t any staff there. Just a sign saying they didn’t have any cars available even though I had reserved one already.

Actually having a car, or at least communicating with me about not having a car after I already had a reservation

Drop off was a little confusing but we figured it out. Mainly because Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty all combined their locations at airport. Little heads up would have been nice.

Absolutely nothing. I have no idea how my experience did not constitute fraud and will be complaining to every authority I can think of.

Cons:

Despite paying for my reservation days in advance, when I arrived there were not even any Thrifty staff at the airport. A Hertz employee informed me that Thrifty had rented out all their cars and gone home, but would honor my reservation the following day when possible. I was staying in town for two days. What does "reservation" mean if not that my car was reserved? Why would you rent a reserved car to someone else when I already paid for it in advance? How can someone "honor" my reservation after it is too late to use it?

Pick up in Hope Hull Montgomery Airport, Alabama, was OK. I reported rub marks to the agent at the airport on the form provided. The car was clean but did have rub marks on the outside, which were documented by photos before the car was moved. Dropped car off as rented at Dayton International Airport, Ohio before 9:00am and deposited the keys in the drop box before 9:00 am. Convenient BUT RISKY.

Cons:

NO Honesty in charging, integrity, communications = ALL lacking! NO receipt every provided by mail or email. I was charged $137.37, not the $117.39 quoted, with NO explanation and NO communications. Bait and Switch. I dropped the car off at Dayton International Airport as directed on Sunday morning before 9:00 am. No agent was there so paperwork was deposited in box as directed by signs. I filed a left item report on line as directed by Thrify on a CD left in the car - nothing done and nothing said. NO communications. I have photos that there was no damage to the car. I feel cheated. I feel like a theft has occurred in the taking of additional money without explanation. POOR business practice. DISHONEST business practice.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
