Hotel was very clean and new staff was very helpful No lock in bathroom door
Could not handle my issues. Did not return phone calls
We were impressed. Rooms very spacious. Large bathrooms as well. Beds very comfortable
comfortable and clean nicer than the Hampton Inn etc Breakfast
very modern - loved the rooms - very clean - couldn't have ask for anything more
The refurbishment of the grand train station into a hotel is nearing completion and they have kept much of the details of the main station lobby. It feels grand, though I question some of their design choices (neon bright spot lights?) The heating systems were off and on, including bouts of cold and hot water in the showers. The food at the grill and their main restaurant was Okay, but nothing to get excited about.
I have been making an annual trip to Scranton, Pa for the last 15 years. I always stay at the Radisson Lakawanna. The lobby decor has been preserved ( beautiful marble, mosaics, and stained glass). The rooms have recently been redecorated - or are in the process. This is a welcome improvement. The staff is friendly and helpful. We love dining at Carmen's ( in the hotel). Good food at a reasonable price.
The hotel is in a historic train station. Wonderful restoration. I arrived early, so the room was not ready. Okay, I was told I would get a call on my mobile phone when a room was ready. That call never came. As the normal check-in time approach, I returned to the hotel to find that my room had been ready but that no one had found the time to call me.
The rooms were very large, beds very comfortable. The hotel lobby was very elegant and the old train terminal atmosphere was very cool. The bathroom was renovated with a stone vanity and very nice tile, but they used a very crappy tub surround.
Newer Clean large rooms nicely appointed convenient to major travel arteries complimentary breakfast small workout facility
Hot tub, breakfast
The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, with enough space for a family Nothing
Nice clean room. I had a very comfortable stay. The hotel walls are quite thin. Could hear a good bit of hall noise.
For the good, first would be the beds and pillows. They were very comfortable and I slept well each night. The room was neat and clean. The public parts of the hotel were well kept and inviting. The location of the hotel was decent, only about a mile from downtown. It's an easy ride to downtown as well. I read several negative reviews of the on site restaurant. Although I only had breakfast there, I would disagree with those reviews. The breakfast menu pretty standard for the north. The food was prepared well. The service was quick, without feeling rushed. Our server was pleasant and engaging. And I felt that the pricing was comparable to what you would at an off site diner. Definitely not gouging. There were only a few minor quibbles I had with the hotel. The walls were pretty thin. There was family with children in the next room. I knew this because I could hear the children well into the evening. It didn't bother me or keep me up, but I was aware of it. In fact, they may have had the worse if it as I am a snorer. Secondly, though clean and functional, the bathroom looked as if it could use a refresh. And lastly, the hot tub could have been a bit warmer. As I said, these were minor quibbles. Overall, I was pleased with my stay at the hotel.
Nothing I was told my room was not available when I went to check in at 11pm.
Friendly staff. Housekeeping did not check my room on the second day; SPG would not credit points for my stay due to having booked it through a Kayak.
We thought that the remodeling that had been done was very nice and up to date. It had a relaxed modern feel to it.
Rooms were clean, I give amenities a 9 Not enough restaurants/shopping in the area. No fault to the hotel but, we had to drive abt 15 mins away to an area with a mall and restaurants.
Room was kept clean. King bed was comfortable. Desk staff were very nice in general, and great about extending my stay another night without an upcharge. Good workout room. Conveniently located near I-81. Lacks fridge or microwave access. One only elevator was operating, which had been the case for nearly a month. They're expecting the issue to be resolved by July '15.
Ease of location to highway. Area looked old and tired.
The sheets and pillows were fabulous. The price was fantastic. The breakfast was healthy and good.
The employees at the Hampton at Montage Mountain couldn't have been nicer to us. All very pleasant and helpful, from letting my husband keep his bicycle in a safe place to giving us directions to Scranton the following morning. My ONLY complaint is minor. The website booking described our room as having a view of the mountains -- only true if you leaned into the window and looked left past the car port directly in front of us.
The breakfast is always good. The beds were comfortable, etc.
Free breakfast was good.
With a family of five the included breakfast is a great plus. Nothing. We weren't there long enough.
We spent one night during a extended car trip, it was easily accessible from the highway. Felt it was a good value for the money. Feather pillows on the bed, my two asthmatic children cannot have them. I guess to others they are considered a luxury, to us they are a hazard.
Room was clean and staff was pleasant
Location. Value. Breakfast. Comforter too heavy. Would like the option of a lighter blanket.
Jacuzzi room we stayed in & the morning breakfast offerings were excellent. Would have liked fresh strawberries & more blueberries for the fresh waffles. Also, needed a backup box of tissue in our bathroom. Thanks for asking.
The distance to Montage Mtn and other restaurants Wasn't the cleanest hotel but was good for the price and the amt of time we spent in it
The fact that I only had to stay 1 night Good luck understanding the staff. Misspelled signs ALL over everything. Sheets were not changed. Deadbolt didn't function. Apartments in back were poorly maintained and looked awful. Ice bucket leaked. Signs of break in on front door. Signs of water leak
The room was basic but clean. There was a good diner next door The lobby and owner did not appear to be clean. Bkfst consisted od coffee and store bought donuts.
Location to highway Room smelled, the breakfast was not as advertised, I woke up to my toddler crying because there were spiders in the bed in the middle of the night. Not worth the money!!!!
Privacy, cleanliness. Roger and Philip were very pleasant to deal with....we left a hat behind and they retrieved it and offered to send back to us. Close to stores Ice machine was broken. Continental breakfast consisted of boxed Entenmanns donuts and coffee.
Quiet, easy to get in/out of No
The clerk was really nice and checked in with us The room it self was very dated and in poor condition and also smelt badly of strong perfume or carpet cleaner. We ended up leaving the window open for the day while we were out, but the smell was still there.
Clean room Nothing

Rooms were beautiful and smelled so nice!!! I'd definitely come back!
Staff was beyond excellent as the were extremely helpful and freindly. The hotel provide a taxi to pick me up at the airport at 2am.
The room was clean, amenities more than fine for what I was staying for (just one night to crash after an event in Scranton), and looks like it would be a nice place to stay for a longer visit too. The in room coffee maker and fridge were great additions, and the Noon check-out time is nice for a late-riser like myself – even 11:00 can be a little early sometimes. And kudos to the front desk employee who helped change my night when I was checking in – I accidentally booked the wrong night online and didn't realize until I was in the lobby but he switched it no problem and with no additional fees! Signage, the hotel is tucked up a driveway completely hidden from view from the road and the only sign they have is about the size of a Dunkin' Doughnuts drive-thru sign, on a dark road no less. There's a bigger sign once you get on the driveway obscured by trees but you can't see it from the road at all and I drove right by it the first time. They need a bigger and better lit sign so the driveway's easier to pick out, especially since there's two other Marriott brand hotels a stone's throw away up the road.
$15 for glass of wine Wifi not working
The room was clean and seemed to be fresh/new. The beds were very comfortable check in and out went well. The breakfast was simple. There was an indoor pool that was open late and seemed fairly clean. The pool was lacking chairs. There were several broken toys that should have either been replaced or thrown away.
Still waiting to correct an erroneous room charge.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The location was good for my needs. The back entrance door did not lock - unsafe. The room was not well cleaned. The heating unit control on the wall had goop on it. The "continental breakfast" was just very sad; cereal and dry bread and bagels.
The hotel is very well landscaped with mature plants. The loby is nicely constructed. The room was very comfortable. The pool was closed.
The room was very nice, spacious, clean and very accommodating. The pool area and hot tub was well-kept. The breakfast was not great. Very limited in choices and the coffee was warm.
location the bathroom was filthy, stains everywhere and the tub had grime in it
Nothing The hotel room including the pillows smelled like smoke. In the morning I discovered bed bugs on the comforter. No employees were around in the early morning hours when we left to discuss this.
Affordable and good location Room was a little dirty, room smelled bad
Clean room, comfortable bed and pillows. The room was super spacious I would definitely stay again. The microwave was broken and they were renovating but that was not a deal breaker for me because we only stayed one night.
location, Cleanliness, Staff I had 2 major issues and 1 minor issue that I presented to management/front desk when I checked out. Terrible bed needed replacement. Shower rod needed repair or replacement. refrigerator needed repair.

Close by where we needed to be and a spacious room
The distance it was from the location I needed to be at the next day. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff stared at me for a good minute before someone came over to help. No one offered to help me with my luggage, but I was told to go down the hall for a luggage cart. The rooms were dirty and needed renovating.
Very nice and spacious room. Even for one night it seemed nice to have some extra room. I liked everything.
The staff was polite and courteous. No
Location - close to shopping and restaurants. Rooms were large, beds comfortable. Breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly.

Staff was great. Also loved that the indoor pool was open until late.
The rooms were very clean, the microwave in the room had Out of Order taped to it, other than that it was excellent. Pools was nice too. Location was easy on/off highway.
My room (417) was very quiet, which is essential to me. Bed was great. Breakfast was good, even though I usually don't like to have mandatory TV during breakfast. The Wi-fi was a bit slow.
The beds were nice and comfortable. The hotel allowed us to check on late. The bathroom was literally soaking wet when we checked in late at night. It was very hard to explain as the towels, even the folded ones were soaking wet, the shower was wet , and the trash can had water in it. The whole hotel room had a humid feel to it so I don't know if that was from months of not using the room and it being so warm or if there was a strange leak. When I told the person at the desk she seemed concerned but didn't have an explanation. We left ASAP.
Convenient location, nice management, decent price. I'd come back to stay. Don't think the room was as clean as would have liked; bathroom floors and such had hairs and were not thoroughly clean.
It's very cheap There was a old brewed coffee bag lay sitting in the coffee maker. There was a lot of brown stain in the toilet. A lot of kids running outside and yelling in the morning.
The location was central to the historic sites and a value for the money. Motel was an original Howard Johnsons and is experiencing a bit of minor wear and tear type deterioration that fortunately is being corrected by the current owners.
i thought the staff was very friendly.my room was clean.i would recomend this room to my friends.its cheap in price and at a very easy to find location. the breakfast could use improvement.but for the price of that room it was a fair deal
inexpensive but average accommodations
Great hotel for the price and perfect for an overnight stay in the heart of the city. Clean place and nice people at the desk. We chose it for location and price.
Good location, good and free parking place, free wi-fi, good hotel for overnight stay. Average breakfast.
Nothing. The hotel is filthy, unkept and falling apart. I will never stay there again. Peeling paint, cracked cement, dirty and broken curtains, stained carpet, horrible bathroom and uncomfortable bed. The door handle was loose and did not close properly. I kept my things in the trunk of my car .
Room was clean. There was good parking place and city was only two minutes by the walk Heater was littlebit noisy. Breakfast was only cereous, bread and juice... no any meat or something like that
It was very close to the coach station and town centre. It was reasonably priced and room included a breakfast. There was no lobby internet facilities, the staff were not overly helpful about cab services (even though there is only one in the whole town) and where to find internet facilities.
Clean. clean, clean... The hotel is newly renovated and the staff is absolutely fantastic. Complementary breakfast was very good and the location is great. We were there for 16 nights and will stay there again and again.
Good location. Extra clean hotel and rooms. Fantastic staff. Will stay there again and again.
Maybe I am easily impressed, but they have this machine that lets you push a button and it dispenses freshly baked pancakes. Free pancakes. What else can I say?
Fantastic hotel staff, from front desk to housekeeping. We were there for 16 nights and were treated with much respect and friendliness. Extra clean hotel. All it needs is a restaurant on site, but the complementary breakfast is fantastic. For part of the stay, our family and friends had up to 3 rooms and all were excellent. We all share the same opinion and anytine we are in the area will stay there.
I have had the good fortune to stay at 4 and 5 star hotels throughout the world and none of them had a more friendly, courteous staff as the Holiday Inn Express Scranton. The room was extremely clean, neat and comfortable. The cinnamon rolls at the morning buffet breakfast were incredible! If I ever travel through Scranton again I will make it a point to stay there again!
Each time I've stayed here, the staff has been extremely helpful, and very friendly. The hotel has also been remodeled since the last time I visited. The continental breakfast is great too!
Stayed for three nights while visiting relatives in the area. The staff was friendly and took the utmost care to make sure we were comfortable. The room was clean and there were many pillows on the beds. The lobby was inviting and the breakfast each morning was amazing. Looking forward to coming back!
We were there for 16 nights and the staff was great. The rooms and all facilities are spotless. Parking is ample and secure. Easy highway access. Complementary ''free''breakfast fantastic.
Close to Montage Mountain where we were attending an event. Loved the 12 Noon check out as we didn't arrive until midnight and were able to sleep in. The breakfast was fine. The room clean and the staff courteous. A bit of money for a single night's stay - but would stay there again - and probably will now that a family member is going to the local college.
For the amount of money that people pay the room should have been cleaner. It was dirty and noisy.
This was a convenient stopping point on a long journey. The hotel is rather isolated by the airport, and therefore food options are limited unless one wants to drive. There are many places that deliver food (pizza, Chinese, etc.) to the hotel, however. My only real compaint is the room was a little dusty and definitely would not pass the 'white glove test.'
We stayed here for two nights and had a great time. The staff was helpful and nice, and the room was clean. Room came with TV, microwave, and mini fridge. Hotel is about 5-8 minutes from downtown Scranton but in a quiet area. We would stay here again!
NOTHING EVERYTHING HOTEL WAS DISGUSTING AND RUN DOWN I WANT MY MONEY BACK IT WAS NOT WHAT I PAID FOR. WOULDNT EVEN PAY 5 DOLLARS A NIGHT FOR THIS.
This place deserves negative stars. Left after 10 minutes. Keep my motherfuckin money. What a dump.
Staff was friendly, room was clean Had to eat breakfast somewhere else..coffee machine was not working. Hotel in need of updating.
