Pros: Everything very quirky and very clean may I say . The location is brilliant for relaxing away from hustle and bustle of life . Our room was very well organised with a quirky shower and toilet area which is hidden away in our room which I had to ask where the toilet was lol. A very nice property is very in keeping with the area and the grounds are beautiful. Had a fantastic breakfast in a very homely setting and could of stayed longer . The Hosts well what can I say very friendly and actually had time to speak and find out about their guests which is sometimes nice as they are inviting us into their beautiful home . We will definitely be going back again . Felt like home from home for me and I have stayed in a lot of hotels over the years but this is something special as the hosts are actual hosts

Pros: Excellent stay. Comfortable room with everything you need. The pub/restaurant offers an interesting menu and the dinner I had was outstanding. I only had the soft boiled egg for breakfast (they do have an excellent choice but I only wanted the soft boiled egg). It was perfectly cooked!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and friendly staff. Breakfast was first class.
Cons: If I had to criticise 1 thing it would be the walls/ceiling are very thin. I could hear the man above me go to the toilet and the person next to me on his phone all night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the building, décor and furniture was of high quality, staff were friendly, and food was excellent. My partner was impressed with the craft beers.
Cons: The bread at breakfast, did not fit in the toaster so had to turn it round and do twice. Toaster was very poor.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful period bar with modern tastefully decorated restaurant and hotel sections. The whole property was immaculately clean and smart.
Cons: Our en-suite bathroom was tiny, so cramped it was awkward to use the toilet and neither of us are big people.
7.9 Good
Pros: I really loved the food and bar area with my dogs able to curl up in front of a log burner while I ate a lovely dinner. My breakfast was also lovely with the option to have nice alternatives to the full English. Problems in the room were in the main resolved quickly but there were a few- & why were they there? Think the rooms/ equipment need closer monitoring
Cons: My room’s heating was not working, but mended for the second night and a fan heater supplied. My tv remote was missing a battery- soon replaced My bedside lamps never worked and nothing happened My own plug in fridge was turned off at the wall during the day- presumably by the cleaning staff
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and lovely staff. Delicious evening meal.
Cons: Window catch missing on bedroom windows which meant we couldn’t open the windows as much as we would like. Reported to hotel staff in the morning who said they would get on to it straight away.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location for what we needed was really handy. We did Chester zoo one day and then Alton tower the next was hour each way. The hotel was lovely. We looked out on a bowling green. Just want was needed. The staff was amazing. The deputy manager that was on every night we was there called Rachel was really helpful and informative with everything we asked her she is a outstanding star for the hotel Amazing stay worth every penny and would recommend to anyone looking to do something like what we did

Pros: Lovely pub with rooms, very clean, friendly happy staff and great food. Excellent breakfast and service.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: I received the wrong bill for food and drink which I did not have. I assume they attached the meals and drink to wrong room.telephoned twice to rectify error. Manager stated that he was too busy and would deal with it later
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed at the Badger a number of times. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are furnished to a good standard and are kept clean. The included Breakfast is fabulous and the restaurant food excellent.
Cons: If I have to be picky, my room (Spinner) overlooked the main road through the village so there is some road noise from the occasional lorry passing through. The free wifi can be a bit weak and the mattress was far too soft for my liking, but no real complaints.
7.0 Good
Pros: Only stayed one night so review only based on the one night, staff were very helpful and attentive , we did not eat at the inn but what we could see it looked very inviting .
Cons: Stairs to the rooms very steep, this could prove difficult for some guests if not informed about them. I am sure the staff would help if needed.

5.4 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast. Good location for Keele University.
Cons: Photos were not representative of the reality. Food was ok but not great. Breakfast was good but took forever!
5.4 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was lovely. Dinner was lovely and they had rhubarb gin - my favourite. The man behind the bar in the evening had exceptional customer service.
Cons: The images of the bedrooms looked modern and luxurious but the reality was unfortunately different. Awful thin mattress with spring sticking through in places, awful banging noise from the pipes when toilet flushed or tap run, shower only had one head setting (jet spray / single water stream from centre of shower head), ceiling paper peeling off, room sparse with one bedside table only, noisy from roadside. Was disappointing as we had hoped for a bit more luxury judging from the images on the booking site (a little misleading). Breakfast was great but staff did not offer to refill coffee and the toast was cold when it came out. Quite an expensive night compared to other places we have stayed. This was the end of our road trip up country and we’re hoping to snap a great late deal but it wasn’t to be.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice location
Cons: The greeting was not friendly. The room was not as portrayed on the internet. The room was old and tired looking. The plumbing was noisey. The TV did not work correctly. The shower was loose and difficult to get in and out. The breakfast was OK, but not great. None of the staff we met were happy smiley people!!

Cons: Too busy, too few staff on
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the beautiful grounds, and the rooms were very nice.
Cons: The restaurant. It took forever to get waited on both for breakfast and dinner. We waited over 35 min for breakfast the last morning and had to finally leave before it came. It was only scrambled eggs and toast,
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel and Spa. Great selection of food for breakfast, well prepared and served by friendly staff.
Cons: On the second morning of the stay, the cooked part of the breakfast took so long to be prepared that we left before it arrived. Which was a shame as it spoiled the experience somewhat.

Pros: Continental breakfast good

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and room excellent.
Cons: Dinner and bar drinks extremely expensive and not worth the money

Pros: Superb large, clean room with the cleanest and smartest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel. Excellent location. Very high standard of food in the restaurant, so despite being fairly pricey, it was worth the cost.

Pros: The room was warm and cosy, very clean. The staff were excellent, couldn't do enough for us.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Modern decor Great shower
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautifully decorated to a high standard and very clean. The facilities were great and there is a lovely (and quiet) beer garden at the back of the pub - perfect on a sunny day.
Cons: The only thing I can think of is that the bed was on the small size - not sure if it was a double or a queen sized bed. A larger bed would have been more comfortable but maybe not so practical due to the size of the rooms.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was spotless and really lovely and the bed was firm and comfortable
Cons: Breakfast only served from 8am but there were biscuits and tea provided in the room
6.3 Good
Pros: Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Charged full a English breakfast but only had bacon sandwich.
6.7 Good
Pros: O liked the location and room was clean and good value
Cons: I thought the menu was limited particularly starters ( all cheese oriented) and sweet course. Staff seemed to be a little short handed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful quintessential English pub located beside a bell clock tower. The rooms seem to be all different in style and layout. My own room (number 2) was clean and extremely well decorated. The bathroom was modern, spotless and elegant in appearance. Everything being on a level access and located outside the pub itself made for ease of access (I'm disabled) and peace and quiet (unless you dislike the chiming of the clock - which I enjoyed). The pub itself is friendly and food excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very nice meals
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful position with excellent views and garden. The pub part of the hotel was extremely quirky, trees inside and bell wheels and ropes linking it to the historic leaning tower of Wynbunbury next door. The menu choice for dinner was different, interesting and tasty whilst retaining some pub favourites. The accommodation was stylish and comfortable with an impressive new style bathroom beautifully tiled. Although the room got hot in the night we were able to use the slim line and really effective, silent fan to cool us down. Breakfast was impressive too.
Cons: A leak of water from the shower door onto the tiled floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great stay here! The pub its self is brilliant and quirky decor! The rooms are just what we needed somewhere to put your head down for the night. Excellently decorated and clean. Staff very helpful! No issues at all would definitely recommend, if your in the area!!
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. Lovely views across fields from the hotel room window. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The menu was extensive and both the bar food and breakfast were lovely. The bar food was very good value. The location was perfect for my needs, ie: attending a course near Nantwich. The gym looked inviting, but I didn’t have time to try it out. My husband also enjoyed the surroundings and friendliness.
Cons: There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, well maintained courtyards/garden. Loved the bathroom.
Cons: Breakfast ! Staff very helpful and friendly, lovely presentation of the breakfast, wanted to try everything but what let it down was it was not kept warm enough, the food was lovely and fresh tasting but just not hot enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I thought I was only getting a single room and I actually was given a double. Room was a lot smarter than I expected. Staff were really helpful in allowing me to check in earlier so I could drop my stuff off and head to a friends wedding. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely stay again!
Cons: The passage way outside my door was quite busy. The door into the room wasn't exactly sound proof so in the morning it was a little annoying because you heard absolutely everything outside the room
6.7 Good
Pros: Peacefull
Cons: Lack of fine detail
7.3 Good
Pros: I have stayed at Hunters Lodge many times over the last 5 years. The Rooms are clean and OK. Evening meals are good pub standard but in my view the Breakfast is the best in UK. The cooked breakfast comes quickly and is always good. Coffee and toast appear quickly etc. It is excellent value for money and I always try to stay at Hunters Lodge if in the Crewe area. I have stayed in quite a few others but now always try Hunters Lodge first.
Cons: I like a bath and some rooms only have a shower.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good food and pleasant staff
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good, the rooms are clean but basic and suspect better value can be had elsewhere. ok for one night.
Cons: It is a pub/restaurant/function location with some cheaply built rooms around the back. The floors creak and the walls are thin. You get what you pay for.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our night at Hunters Lodge Hotel, the staff were very welcoming even although they had to make sure all the wedding guests arriving were well looked after and we ate our breakfast the next morning with the bride, bridegroom and family.
Cons: No nothing at all!
6.0 Good
Pros: overall friendliness of hotel staff, and the layout of facilities
Cons:

Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The food served throughout the hotel was excellent, and always freshly cooked.
Cons:
6.8 Good
Pros: Homely with friendly courtious and helpful staff
Cons: It was very pleasant ; if I was being very critical the bar service was slow, not due to the staff who were excellent but the lack of numbers - but it was a Monday evening stay when perhaps full compliment was not applicable.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Evening staff were very accommodating , helpful and pleasant. Evening meal was excellent.
Cons: Would have preferred my breakfast coffee in a cafeteria not a cup. Wanted a cereal with roughage ( eg. Weetabix ) but not available. On a positive note Egg Benedict delicious.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything. Not clean.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole hotel had an amazing feeling to it great character and the outside seating was amazing being able to sit outside in late September was like being abroad
Cons: Tea Coffee and milk supplies in room were not replaced daily which would have been nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful 17th Century pub which offers brilliant value for money, super food and a great atmosphere. Stayed here as attending a wedding at Rookery Hall (about 3 miles/£10 taxi journey). Set just off the centre of a quaint looking town with lots of shops, coffee bars, pubs and restaurants wouldn't hesitate to stay in this local again. Pub retains it's historic feeling with a sympathetic glass extension to the rear to keep the aged timbers safe (I presume!). Accommodation is in a separate block to the rear of the property reached through the outside seating area and is modern and comfortable with king sized bed, hairdryer, iron and board, heating, flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and super wet room. Breakfast was excellent and we ate in the pub for our evening meal which we had the homemade pies and they were to die for. Car park to rear of property which can be limited so get there early! Can't recommend enough, really enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Can't think of anything.....
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was comfortable and the bed was superb...would have liked one feather pillow! I was only served by one lady and she was very polite and nice. The cat wallpaper was a bit over the top but it was called the Cheshire Cat!
Cons: Breakfast disappointed me. No buffet to help yourself to yoghurt, fruit, muesli etc. When I asked if there was fruit/yoghurt I was told there wasn’t any. It is the first hotel I have stayed in for a long time, where there was no continental breakfast or healthy options available. However the cooked breakfast was very good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great stay, rooms very spacious and modern. Breakfast was lovely.
Cons: Only negative was the terrible state of the overflow car park. If you don't drive a 4x4 you best be careful dodging the huge pot holes. :-)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location good, food excellent, atmosphere good, beautiful building and staff very friendly.
6.7 Good
Pros: Very pleasant staff, and a nice breakfast.
Cons: The bedroom was quite basic, with a tiny bedside table on the far side and a small lamp which it was not possible to read by. More importantly, there was a lot of traffic noise- the window did not appear to be double glazed- so I was woken up much earlier than I had wanted. Better sound insulation would have made a real difference. It was fine as a guest house, but overall I thought it fell well short of what I would expect from a four star hotel.
7.1 Good
Pros: Central location, excellent staff in the afternoon/ evening.
Cons: Few issues with the room, shower excellent however shower head was leaking spraying water everywhere. Had a double socket next to bed, only one plug would work at a time. The location is great however it is next to a night club and despite all the efforts made the noise did impact on our sleep. Breakfast was delicious, would have liked more than one rasher of bacon. Also only got one small glass of apple juice. The amount of staff seemed very limited in the morning, whenever made made a request it was dealt with pleasantly and efficiently. But at times we were waiting for a member of staff to come across. After waiting for someone to give my key to check out In the end, I just waited by the kitchen hatch for a waitress
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff went above and beyond their duty, we where attending a wedding at nearby Dorfird hall and couldn’t get a taxi so one of the male members of staff dropped us off, excellent service, highly recommended to stay at this lovely hotel

8.8 Excellent
Pros: It’s in a really good location, very easy to find and it looks amazing at night when all the lights are shining on it.
Cons: There wasn’t much to dislike really.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful and professional at check in. Helped with bags ect very friendly staff all over , excellent dinner and breakfast and spa facilities bearing in mind I have stayed in many 5* hotels there was nothing to fault and was on par with everywhere else I’ve stayed . Nice weekend away from London in lovely surroundings.
Cons: Could not fault anything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and very clean
Cons: Cooked breakfast not good quality.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: I liked everything to be honest. The only thing I regret is not getting a feature room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a stopover for one night here and it is one of the most interesting places we have ever stayed - it was like staying in a stately home! The old part is Victorian and reception gave us an information booklet and plan when we arrived and we had a fascinating hour or so exploring around the building. We actually stayed in the new part and it was perfectly comfortable and that is where the brasserie and spa etc were. We didn't try out the spa or pool but they looked nice and we wished we had longer to try it all out and explore the grounds etc. We did eat in the Brasserie and it was nice although a little pricey. Nice breakfast. Reception staff very efficient and friendly.
Cons: Nothing really. The fan in the air conditioner made a little bit of noise and we thought it might bother us but it didnt. Also we could faintly hear people going past the room if they were talking loudly but again it wasnt enough to bother us at all.
7.9 Good
Pros: The quality of the building and its interior
Cons: Lack of a good /fine dining room, the catering is apart from the original building and resembles a works canteen
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms, lovely bathroom, very quiet.
Cons: Thought we would be staying in an old building with lots of characters, but actually round the back is a modern built hotel where most of the rooms in this hotel are.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and quirky rooms - staff very helpful and breakfast really good.
Cons: The wedding guests outside smoking were slightly rowdy although the hotel did try to control them - not the hotels fault just the clientele.

Pros: Claimed to be a suite - was a small bedroom
9.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast amazing
Cons: Restaurant evening meal too expensive for what it was. Took a while to get to served and wine came near the end of the meal.
7.5 Good
Pros: Easy on site parking. Helpful and responsive staff. They actually looked at my request for a quiet room and acted on it. Curtains close properly and the corridor lights don't seep into the bedroom. The grounds of the hotel are nice.
Cons: Rooms are dated. Same with bathroom. Long rambling corridors.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great accommodation with pleasant rooms and serving good food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy bed, excellent leisure facilities, activity pack for my 5 year old daughter when we checked in, big TV in the room, desk with separate lamp so I could work while my daughter watched TV. Restaurant offered an excellent menu for reasonable prices. Breakfast buffet offered a good variety. Beautiful surroundings. Overall extremely impressed.
Cons: The weather was a bit drab. That’s it.
7.0 Good
Cons: Service was slow for evening meal, even though they were quite busy, a table close to us were seated after us, got their order taken right before us, received their starter 5 minutes before us and the time scale just got longer and longer each course, main meal itself wasn’t as enjoyable as I’d hoped. Good choice at breakfast but some cooked food was overdone
5.4 Okay
Cons: Twin bed room, mattress like concrete. As repeat customer did not feel loved and check in or departure. Shame as I have stayed there many times.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice location. Pool and spa area were fine
Cons: The rooms were very basic. There is no point in having lovely photos on your website but then having rooms that are not as nice as even basic hotels like the Holiday Inn
7.0 Good
Pros: Bed comfortable, breakfast was good and a lot of choices.
Cons: Pool times restricted for children. Bar very clinical not cosy at all
10.0 Excellent

5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was excellent for the wedding we attended at St Mary’s church. The quirky building and wonky floors has loads of character. Nice white towels. Tea and coffee facilities in the room.
Cons: Very poor mattresses, poor flat foam pillows, ancient bathroom with no place to put things, terrible shower over the bath with a poor old mixer tap, no bath mat so you need to use one of the towels. Very noisy extractor fan. Room 17 is small. Walls between room 17 and rooms 16 and 18 are paper thin. You can hear other people talking and snoring( I think headboards of 17/16 are back to back!) Due to being old and tired the room didn’t feel fresh. High quarter light window didn’t help.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly cleaning lady
Cons: Rather difficult to locate hotel car park
7.0 Good
Pros: Very attractive hotel steeped in history with slightly uneven floors, an ancient staircase and beautiful facade. However the facilities were modern and good.
Cons: The room we were in was not in keeping with the ambience of the place- it had all the right things like comfy bed but was surprisingly soulless, with one high up window that in fact overlooked a dilapidated property.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The style of building and staff
Cons: Bathroom
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast excellent
Cons: Beds and pillows and bathroom. Bathroom old with old style mixer tap..hard to control temperature of the shower. No bath mats provided. Room 17 small. walls between room 18 and 17 very thin...could hear folk snoring in room 18. Think bed head boards are back to back.
6.3 Good
Pros: Saturday night stay. Room 10. Very noisy until 3.30am. Not much sleep.
Cons: Room rather small. Room looked onto square where Saturday night revellers congregate after pubs and clubs. Very noisy.
