The front desk staff were friendlier and more helpful than most of the 4 and 5 star hotels I usually stay in! The free breakfast was better than I expected in this type of motel.
The staff was fantastic. The vent in the bathroom was very loud.
Price Pet friendly rooms were also smoking rooms AND they were only upstairs! No elevator.
the front desk was excellent. He double-checked our room for our lost car keys. The no smoking room had a smoky odor. Unfortunately, all rooms were booked so we were not able to change rooms.
Fairly quiet for its location. Desk clerk called shortly after check in to be sure the room was satisfactory. Older property but the best choice for the location. Showing definite signs of degradation. The towels had seen better days. Significant amount of dried blood on one of the towels.
The guy at the front desk was very kind, helpful, & apologetic about the only room being available was a smoking room when I wanted nonsmoking. Front desk guy was nice but super swamped. He was new & was left there 2 fend 4 himself. When trying 2 get us switched 2 a diff room, he struggled 2 get ahold of someone 4 help. No managers avail. Pool had tons of bugs floating in it & maids did bare min.
the price, and the breakfast was great. the eggs with ham and cheese were awesome! the bed was comfortable. not much parking
Our reservation was not honored. They said they didn't care if we had a confirmation number. There were no rooms. We had to send our guys to another hotel, even though our card had been charged for the room that wasn't available. Refund please. It looked like a crack deal was going down in the parking lot. Ladies standing on the corner selling crack or themselves. Truck running a generator that was loud. But the worst part was them telling us they wouldn't honor our confirmation number.
better price than all in the area and still close to convention center. the night manager wanted to give up my room to another guest to had a bad room. then that manager stated there were no other rooms. So that I would have a bad room. the night manager did not want to resolve the issue just pass the problem to another.
The room was clean and spacious and the staff was helpful and coureous. The breakfast had many good options.
Excellent staff. Great breakfast. Hard to get to especially if you don't know Dallas traffic.
The friendly staff, no one has ever called our room to make sure everything was okay after checking in. That made us feel taken care of. N/S
It was cheap. The wifi was alright. The sheets were either stained or dirty. Breakfast was just some bananas, dry cereal (I didn't see milk), little packaged cinnamon buns, or some instant oatmeal (but to get hot water, you'd need to go to your room... and you can't take any food away). At 9am on the dot, the "breakfast" is hastily removed. It's funny that they so heavily advertise breakfast, and then it's nothing, really. The police creep through constantly at night. I might have seen a drug deal. There's no iron or ironing board in the room.
Staff were friendly Room was not very clean and there were broken lamps and cigarette burns on bed sheets
This was a great trip!!! I would suggest this hotel to everyone. It was Christmas Time and the hotel was very festive!!!!
Always a pleasure Loud outside your room in mornings. Every employee is a tip whore. Get ready to dish out a lot of cash But they deserve it, ofcourse.
No mutch Every thing is under construction ;(
Looking at this place from the outside, you think it is going to be pretty Sweeeeeet! Overall it was, except for the room. Room was clean, but not close to being worth $250 a night. Room was more like what you would see in a 2.0 star hotel. Nothing to brag about at all. If the room was as nice as the rest of the resort you wouldnt be able to say much bad about this place. I would have to say they ARE understaffed for a place this large. Hard to find anybody to help you at times. Seriously, the staff was outstanding if you could find them. However, the rest of the resort was very nice. Actually beautiful atrium area with restaurants (Steak, Italian, Mexican food), good sized fountain, flowers, trees, and other things as well. There were quite of few shops as well bars and sports bars in the resort. They did have a Starbucks in the lobby as well (which made the wife happy as well as the rest of that loooooooong line waiting to get their fix). The water park they have (for guests only) was pretty nice. Adults and kids alike were all enjoying it. They did have a really nice bar there and also served food if you wanted to make a day of it. Overall, pretty nice place The room is a lot to be desired. Stayed at better rooms in a lot CHEAPER motels. Yes, it was clean, but for a $250 a night resort room, I would definitely expect more. A bit understaffed for a place this large. Hard to find anybody to help or even ask questions to, at times. Having to pay $19 dollars to SELF park is ridiculous But then so is $30 for them to park it for you.
The Gaylord Texas was a great stay. We had problems when I got to the hotel (but not with the Gaylord Texan) we called the front desk and they moved us into a larger king size room, large enough to fit two roll away beds for the kids at no extra charge. After this problem the vacation was wonderful. When I booked the hotel room I put down 4 adults where I thought their would be enough room for all four but when we got to the room it was a standard size king room with only a king size room. I was expecting a pull out bed or at least couch for 4 adults. I would suggest showing a room layout for the consumer so someone doesn't get confused with what they are purchasing.
Pool and room temperature in pool area was not heated for enjoyment, too cold!!!
Room was clean, if you have family there is a lot for kids to do (at least around xmas which is when we went) Glass Cactus club was neat. The pre-check in email asking what your preferences are... DON'T waste 1 minute of your time on that! asked for either a higher room/floor OR a view room... Specifically made a note in the comments that a room higher up was desired.. Got a parking lot, first floor room and the hall was FULL of kids and no parents! Kids were running up and down the halls all day and HALF the night... Also, restaurant staff was not very friendly, lost my reservation and then tried to make ME look like the fool.... But I had a confirmation email to prove the reservation.... So it was just a poor experience.. Staff was either great OR terrible... Grossly understaffed... I know for $220/night it felt more like a "fancy" 2.5 star hotel... I have had much better service at cheaper big-brand hotels and this hotels amenities dod NOT warrant the cost.. I had high hopes for this resort and sadly was let down..
I loved the Staff and customer service! Those brilliant smiles serves great Texas hospitality! There was nothing I didn't like! The Gaylord is home away from home!
I loved everything there was to see and do there. Gorgeous! Everyone was very friendly. The room was tiny.
The staff were great! We had a group of teenagers camped in front of a broken vebding machine. After I informed the staff they promptly restocked the vending machine and fixed it. A few cons, as with anything. Overall, the hotel has a good location and I would recommend this hotel to future families passing through DFW. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable for my children. In addition our room was very warm. We set the thermostat as low as it would go and we still could not get the temperature below 71. Since we were only there one night we did not have it looked at. However given the attentiveness the previous day I have no doubt it would have been looked at promptly.
The room smelled like smoke.
Evening Reception, and The Breakfast! Room AC wasn't the best in the bedroom. The entry to my room air seemed to circulate well, but the room got hot at night.
The view from my room and the window were floor to ceiling- amazing! Room service was pretty expensive.
The place was just beautiful! From the front desk to room service to housekeeping, the entire staff was extremely professional.
Makes business travel easy Nothing
First and most importantly, my children had a blast. My oldest loved the slides and the younger two enjoyed the pools/play areas bot inside and outside. As parents, we liked the outside area better for less chlorine smell and burn. The staff was very nice and attentive from the front desk to the cleaning ladies to the lifeguard and activity leaders. The front desk gave my son a special birthday wolf ears and a token for a free ice cream since he just had his birthday. There was a lot to do besides just the water park which was nice. Our room was clean when we arrived and that was the first thing we checked. I read reviews of crumbs in beds, bed bugs, mold in the bathrooms and so on so I was very nervous about this. But our rooms were great. We loved that they had starbucks right in the lodge! We only got lunch items from the Lodge and went out to dinner off property but we didn't find the food to be that bad or overpriced. My suggestion would be to order a whole pizza instead of slices and just reheat in the microwave for following days to save a lot of money! We also purchased 2 refillable cups and used them for the whole trip which was nice. I was also happy that they had salad options for us adults who didn't want to go overboard on unhealthy choices. And for those that are really on a budget, the rooms have a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We brought breakfast and snacks and even brought our own toaster from home. You can eat whatever you want in your room instead of buying everything there. All of the guests that we had interactions with were nice and also seemed to be having a great time. The location is great with a grocery store, restaurants and entertainment nearby so while you may be tempted to never leave the hotel, you have many options around. If you forget anything don't worry, they have a lot of clothing, toiletries, bags, bathing suits and so on for purchase right at the lodge. You never really need to leave if you don't want to which is great for people who take a flight there. As some other reviewers mentioned, there is a strong smell of chlorine in the inside part. But honestly, this is expected and similar to every indoor pool I have ever been to. But for this reason we spent most of our time at the outdoor section. Renting a cabana is very expensive. Apparently the price changes daily but when we asked it was $170. We were able to find some shaded seats although they are a little hard to come by. Other people mentioned rust and I didn't see it until I waited in line for the slides with my oldest son. There is some rust along the stairs and on the doors to the bathroom. Did I ever feel nervous about it, no. It was NOT rusty nails sticking up all over the place that a kid could easily run over and get hurt on. It is a very moist and corrosive environment so it is bound to happen. Would it be better if they fixed it, yes. But again, I wasn't too worried. The water in our shower would have pockets of colder water come here and there, again not the end of the world but not perfect either. On the flip side, the sink water in the inside downstairs bathroom was incredibly hot, I had to collect the water in my hands and hope it cooled enough to then rinse my kids' hands. They have a candy area right by the refillable drinks that my youngest was attracted to and we had to keep on pulling him away. One of my children has type 1 diabetes and a gluten allergy so we try to stay away from candy, sweets and bakery items for the whole family when we are with her. The placement of this candy and lack of alternative items made for some sour moments but luckily I came prepared with snacks of our own.
Indoor water park is included with your stay. We have been going to the Great Wolf every December for 9 years now. Our three kids have always enjoyed our stay here until this year 2016. Sadly this location is in decline and needing to be running at 110%. Staff very sweet and apologetic, but apologies don't get me my full experience for my dollar. Our room was not ready at 4:00pm check in. It took 2 hours and 23minutes to get our room. The Hotel did not offer anything for this inconvenience, I had to ask. (We we're not the only family who's room was not ready...many others were being told the same thing. The 2nd day 1/2 the water park rides and pools were closed. Disappointed this year. Reconsidering our trip next December. Might start new tradition.
We absolutely loved this place!! We will definitely be back for more!!
The water park was a lot of fun for my little one, I do think that it can be kept cleaner though. Dirty floors and towels. There wasn't much to do besides the water park that didn't require tons of money. Besides the magiquest there wasn't much to do and we didn't even do that because it takes on average 3-5 hours.
fun place for kids and family oriented, great location I'm grapevine, tx. this time we had a great view from our room and really liked being on 4th floor, easy access to lobby and the resturant! and we were close to the elevators! beside the room being very expensive the food and drink especially by the pool area was very pricey! the lines were long for the kids slide! the carpet had few big stain on it, we went there last year and they changed our room because the carport had several stain on it! i also wish the kids can use the wifi for their x box live, when i called the front desk they said they don't have that option any more for the video game! my boys were a bit bummed out! but overall they had a good time!
I love the waterpark and our room EXPENSIVE, not just the rooms but everything at the lodge is way overpriced...Who has valet parking at a place advertised to be a family hotel, come on now....The waterpark is the only thing included with your room rate, beware of all the add-ons! If you are a Harry Potter fan you will love the hotel but bring your wallet because to play the game it will be roughly $80 per person - Note that's more than admission into SIX FLAGS...just sayin!
safe and well managed water park with LOTS of lifeguards. integrated room-key/payment system on adult wrist bracelets works everywhere, including vending machines. very expensive, $65 dinner buffet, $60 breakfast buffet, plus tips for a family of 4. Magic quest scavenger hunt game $30-$50 per child. Parking is difficult.
Location in proximity to where we wanted to go. Staff was friendly. Room service was good. I paid neArly twice the rate of a 3-star to get executive level amenities. We ended up in a normal king room. Not sure if that was a mistake or their definition of executive level.
Friendly staff, I love the tennis courts and want to visit again to use the outdoor pool by the lake. The proximity to shopping is nice and very close to the airport.
Continental breakfast wasn't offered.
The room was very clean and comfortable.
In desperate need of updating! First room had a carpeted head board!
Location Was very good A/c didnt Works properly. Room was warm called front desk to report it and the y kept telling me they would come to check and never came. I Would not stay nor recomend hotel. Plenty more in area to pick from
Staff was super friendly. We are a young couple from Louisiana. We visited to go to Six Flags. Not a bad drive to get to the park. Clean rooms, fairly comfortable beds, nice breakfast. There was a little league team staying and the hotel was pretty booked but it wasn't a long wait for breakfast. Right across the street from a delicious Mexican restaurant with amazing margaritas. We also visited the hotel bar and they made yummy drinks. Overall great getaway! Elevators were a little slow but nothing terrible!
First room was clean, no odors. Second room we were moved to was also clean. Hotel location was average. Parking lot was clean. Checked in on a business trip at midnight. King room, reserved, "over-sold." Same with 2 queens. Given small room with two twins. AC did not work. Staff agreed to move us the next day to a King, with some arm-twisting. Breakfast below average. Was not terrible, but next time may try another hotel in area.
Everything The smell of cigarettes in the room. Need to find a way to get rid of that odor.
Large, clean rooms, & friendly, helpful staff Pool was cloudy with heavy chlorine. I'm guessing chemicals were not right. Didn't like that the Hurst justice center was right across the street, but it seems that this is a factor for most of the hotels in Hurst.
The staff was very friendly and created a welcoming environment from check in to check out. In addition, the gallery was open 24/7 with a wide selection of food and drink. We had an issue with the TV during our stay, but maintenance fixed it within 15 minutes and the front desk reversed our charges. Location wise, this hotel is perfect. It is located catty corner from the police station which makes it feel like a secure place. In addition, the location allows prime access to multiple eateries and retail outlets as well as easy access to the main thoroughfares of the metroplex. Would recommend to anyone. The building was a bit old, however renovations covered that up and made it feel more modern.
Very friendly staff, clean rooms and hotel. Decent breakfast.
Not a thing. The room smelled like smoke, and was a non smoking room. In fact, the entire hotel smelled of smoke. Numerous folks had dogs in the hotel. They barked quite a bit. The room was terrible. The blanket on the bed had multiple cigarette burns. It was bad!!!!!
The halls reeked of cigarettes, but the non-smoking room did not. At check in, it took forever for a desk clerk to come to the door. Because of construction, it was very difficult to find at night. Additional signage would help.
location no tv remote. staff did not fix problem when informed
Location This hotel was so dirty on the inside and outside.Just absolutely gross! The room had no noise cancellation heard everything upstairs and beside us.Cigarette burns in the headrest and bathroom sink area, curtains stained by smoking my room was smoke fre
Area Non smoking room but smelled like smoke!! Horrible
the price and location the sheets looked dirty, and I had to get clean ones for my bed.
looked ok from the outside. Building is not being maintained. Doors are broken. Smoke detector - broken. Clerk came into my room to fix the telephone, he was barefoot. Internet cable didn't work.Back door to motel was broken. Open for anyone to access.
IT is in a great location and it was very clean
The price No clock or blow dryer or shampoo in room. Beds were good. The shower curtain had mold on it.
they are giving me a partial refund dirty, room I was given was open and occupied
Hotel staff Druggies
The lady at the desk was kind when I checked in. Hotel needs to be updated!! Lamps did not work, one had no bulb. Furniture had rips in them. Saw bugs in the room the morning we checks out.
The taxi service for Comfort Inn was reliable and on time. A Continental Breakfast could have been available at 5:00 or 5:30 AM for travelers that needed to leave Comfort Inn for the airport at 6:00 AM.
Beds and Pillows were great! Rooms were clean! The Staff was the best The shuttle was efficient when picking people up from the airport The breakfast was great The location, no where near a city. The gym shouldn't be called a fitness center Going down stairs is faster then taking the elevator
It was nice It was very small
Room was nice and breakfast was great. Bathrooms nice as well. Spacious for sleeping. Nice A/C Beds a little to firm for my back. But over all very nice.
Bed was comfortable Microwave + refrigerator in the room Refrigerator didn't get cold enough Air conditioning never actually cooled down the room Light in bathroom was super dim (hard to shower) Bathroom sink was almost impossible to use Cleaning service didn't clean everything Breakfast was pretty awful Staff was unprofessional (personal calls, chatting with each other while customers were waiting, only half were in uniforms)
The hotel was nice. The front desk do not understand the importance of customer service. The operational staff was nicer than the actual front desk staff. The front desk staff. very rude and do not understand simple customer service standards.
We enjoy breakfast and swimming. We had a good stay
Staff were friendly and very helpful.
The staff and the room were excellent The breakfast was very subpar
Next to the freeway without hearing it at all... and next to TLC... mmmmm with a discount... nice! Big comfy beds and a yummy breakfast.
It has everything a business traveler would want. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. I was allowed to cancel one of our 5 rooms when one of our group had an emergency, even though the deadline had technically passed.
Location near ATT Stadium and DFW airport was great. Having a shuttle service to pick us up from the airport was a huge bonus. They also offer the shuttle to guests for short trips within 5 miles of the hotel This made getting lunch and breakfast much better. Walking to nearby restaurants can be hazardous. Lots of traffic at freeway speeds. Great local and chain restaurants nearby to take care of your hunger. The room was clean and fresh. A/C worked perfectly. All of the staff were super nice and very accommodating to our needs and questions. Would definitely recommend La Quinta for a business trip or a stay for a concert or ball game.
Pets allowed with no extra charge Nothing
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Especially the front desk attendant overnight, James
Good room and good service. The address given by www.booking.com is wrong. It should be Hyw 121 South, not Hyw 121.
New looking. Great bed. clean! Breakfast. Quiet. WiFi I could not beliefe dogs were allowed at this hotel. While I did not have allergies to dogs--some people could. Are there dog only rooms? Biscuits for breakfast were dry.
The bed, very comfortable The carpet, I had 2 large suitcases and moving to my room was complicated.
Proximity to airport. In 4 days I needed to request new room keys 6 times. The shower faucet handle broke in half when I tried to use it. They did not have a bottle-opener to lend, (which is annoying but not a deal-killer), but when asked they suggested I go to the Wal-Mart to get one. But there was a convenience store across the street that had some. Overall they were clueless/indifferent.
Quiet and relaxing
It was in a good location near restaurants and about 10 minutes away from the grapevine mills mall. The pool was very clean and the room was clean. The beds are a little stiff
Convenient location with access to the airport, free (albeit small) breakfast, very quiet, kind and professional staff. Overpriced for what it was, very poor water pressure in the shower, poor availability of hot water, slightly run down, bed was far too firm.
Everything was great from the faculty to the cleanliness of the room.
The transport facility provided by the hotel for nearby destinations. Some more choices for dining around the place would be welcome.
The staff was amazing the professional attitude and courtesy that they showed you would expect from a 5 star they went out of their way to make sure everyone in my family had a great time There wasnt much for breakfast but it was still good
Very nice and close to the DFW airport while weather cancelled and delayed my flight.
Good breakfast. Never ran out of anything. Comfortable beds and pillows. Bathrooms are VERY small. Can't shut the door unless you're standing in the shower.
I loved the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness. The bed was the most comfortable in my life! I wish they would've had an outdoor pool to enjoy the sunshine as well as a hot tub for my aching muscles after a 10 hour drive. It would've also been nice to have a plastic laundry bag in the closet as my suit didn't dry all the way overnight.
Great helpful staff. Clean rooms. Nothing
We were very impressed with the quality and affordability of the Hotel. Will definitely stay again!
The staff was very accommodating. The breakfast was great! Clean, comfortable, quiet. Location close to mall. No complaints.
Clean! Service was great. Check in was fast and easy, and the clerks actually were smiling and friendly at 10:00 PM. You don't get that very often these days. Location was great.
Location Cleanliness Shuttle (though I did not use it) Online check-in Breakfast & manager's social We arrived around 9pm on December 27th. Upon asking my name, the front desk staff quickly told me that there was not such a reservation, and there were several Springhill hotels in town. That was not a warm welcome when you thought you had finally arrived at the destination after a day of driving! I had to insist that this was the right hotel, and it turned out that he got my name wrong. If he could just ask my name once again, it would be a much better experience. I love everything about this hotel, and in fact all of the hotel staff were very courteous except this particular one.
Very quiet. Clean and comfortable Annoying ringing noise by pool that sounded like a distant telephone and never stopped. I asked for an extra blanket and was told there should be one in the closet. There was not. I was told it would be 40 minutes because there was no staff available at that time.
Very modern and comfortable. But the towneplace suites next door gives you more bamg for your buck. My room was pretty click tho. I liked it. The bathroom floor hadnt been well cleaned. There were still hairs from the previous guests. The bathroom tub was sticky.
Every detail is well thought out at this facility. A full size mirror acts as a door for the closet. The night stand is pulled away from the wall to allow easy access to the extra plugs so that you can easily charge your phone and/or your computer. There is an actua wall-mountedl thermostat, not just fan speed control on the under-window air conditioner. The staff are very friendly and helpful. On Wednesday night, there were children seemingly under the age of 5, running up and down the hall, squealing with delight, well past midnight. Clearly, this is on the patents, not the hotel or the children.
Everything was great, staff was friendly and helpful, room was comfortable and breakfast was great Everything was great if I had to have something I didn't like,I guess the hot tub wasn't very hot and had a large amount of chlorine in it..
I didn't realize that I was reserving under the wrong la quinta and when I showed up at my regular la quinta, they didn't have a reservation for me. They contacted the Euless hotel but they wouldn't allow a transfer. They said because of the 24hr notice policy but it hadn't even been 24hrs since I made the reservation. It was a big client dissatisfier and especially at the end of my day, with luggage in hand and I had to turn around go back to the car, load the luggage, find the other la quinta on my phone and head out again. Breakfast hrs too limited and tried to give me room by elevator, which is a noise issue.
Kindness of all staff
