Location and price to value Not within walking distance to downtown but easy access to freeway and good central location for visiting local wineries.
The Black Oak Best Western is an older motel, but has been remodeled and is quite comfortable. The pool looked newish and there is now an exercise room. Breakfast, $5 coupon p/p, next door is so big that we ended up splitting one breakfast and that was plenty to eat.
This hotel is a great price, centrally located to wine country, the fair grounds and downtown Paso. We enjoyed eating breakfast at Margies Diner on the grounds. Our hotel cost included $5 off our breakfast and free coffee. This is the third stay for us and I would definitely stay again.
Large rooms, beautiful grounds, convenient shops and restaurants , great proximity to all wineries, friendly staff! Noisy guests on Saturday night
Staff was very knowable and professional rooms were a good size location was great Called for a taxi hours before a show they confirmed when taxi didn't show I called cab company they simply said they had no cabs available The front desk arranged for us to be picked up and taken to our show great job Black Oak staff :)
Unique classic cottage-style establishment, with rustic (yet fully functional) amenities. it's located in a fairly centralized location, close to downtown as well as the freeway. Clean, friendly staff, and a great value.
Rooms are clean Bed is very hard and uncomfortable. Shower is very small. Don't expect concierge service from the guy at the front desk.
We checked out 10 minutes after we checked in. It is right off the freeway. And the walls are thin. Only window looked over the concrete poolscape, concrete parking lot to the cars whizzing by. And we paid for a deluxe room! Sat on the bed. I didn't want to dream of being run over again and again all night. Sat on the bed. The springs creaked. Anyway, the man was nice enough to give our money back. We drove the 4 hours home.
Outside was noisy.
Clean The bed
The office people at registration were very nice. that our sheets were dirty, room was never cleaned properly, the floor had not been swept and toilet was dirty.
This was the dumbest Motel 6 I can recall. I have stayed in several. There was not even any shampoo in the shower.
It was quiet, clean and adequate for our needs. A place we'd stay again. NOthing.
Location, location, location! It's right in town within walking distance to wine tasting, shopping, dining and cocktails. You can't beat it for the price.
Charming, clean and quiet! Cleanest motel bathroom I have ever seen. The staff were extremely polite and very helpful, nice people to talk to. I would stay there again anytime. not a thing.
The location was great. I would have liked a microwave and refrigerator.
Clean and comfortable room, centrally located to downtown Paso Robles restaurants, etc. Extremely personable motel proprietor. Price was very reasonable and a good value. Everything was satisfactory.
It's old but very clean. Small bathroom.
Location; right in the middle of town close to all sorts of stuff
Friendly Amenities a bit old.
Wi fi didn't work. TV didn't work. No outlets to charge phone etc except one in the bathroom. Light too dim to read.
Management very nice. Room clean. Easy in and out. Way over-priced for the basic room.
Very basic. Clean rooms and bed. Very good choice for the frugal traveller
Very old, run down, which is fine but the air conditioning was atrocious!
Newly remodeled No Ice
Brand new bedroom. Very recent remodel and ongoing. Owners are proud and are making improvements every day.
This motel has been updated and under new ownership. Bathroom was completely redone and clean. You can smell a hint of fresh paint, but nothing to keep you from enjoying your stay. Owners were very nice and location was very quite. Will defiantly come back again when heading in this direction for a weekend. Espechilly for the winery's. Beds look more like full size then queen.
Room was clean and smoke-free. Front desk was friendly.
Great value for the area. Close to a lot of winery's in the area. Close to food. Recent remodel and still improving. Friendly staff. Quite area. Not that many rooms so great for getting service. A lot of the reviews were poor but the newest ones mentioned remodel so we took a chance. Way better than we expected. No ice machine. No tissue boxes in room. Pillows were uncomfortable. Cheep soap. No WiFi
The king size bed was pretty comfortable. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. A/C worked well. The carpet in the room was extremely dirty. You couldn't tell by looking at the dark green carpet, but after walking around barefoot from one side of the room to the bathroom, my feet looked like I had walked through a dirt parking lot. There was no shampoo or conditioner included with the room, only two super-small bars of soap. The towels were small and rough. No outlets in the bathroom for using hairdryer or curling iron. The unmatched lamps were looking pretty broken down, and I had to repair one to make it work. There were no closets or hanging racks for clothes.
This was the dirtiest place over EVER been in...I brought it to the managers attention and he acted like he didn't understand English. The shower hasn't been cleaned in what appeared to be weeks... And it clogged while we showered so our feet marinated in yuck. There was dirty band aids down the sink drain. The chairs, sheets, towels, bedspread all were dirty and stained. The toilet was DIRTY. It reaked of cigarette smoke... We even saw the 'housekeeper' changing sheets in another room with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. This placed didn't just seem like a place where hookers came to do business... It was like the place they came to DIE. I took pictures... Going to call health department and dispute the charge for the cost with my CC company.
