I extended my reservation one more day as I was unsure I could make it back on the original date. I ended up getting back earlier. Original drop off was 12 noon. I arrived a day earlier at 4 pm, 20 hrs before the due date. I asked if I could have a cost adjustment but was told that I could not. I have had this courtesy at other car rentals so I was very disappointed. The staff was very nice & I realize she was just doing company policy but I feel that 20 hrs. earlier than scheduled drop off was certainly worth giving some amt. of cost adjustment. I will most likely not use Avis the next time I rent a car.

I had a reservation at Avis - 333 Madonna Rd. In San Luis Obispo 9/15/21. The place closes at 5:00pm. I showed up at 4:30 to pick up my car and no one was there?!! The door was locked and the woman working that day simply left early and closed up shop! I called the 800 number she posted on the front door only to be told that there was nothing they could do to help. This is so inacceptable! That woman should be fired for doing this to me… I had a reservation and she left work early completely screwing me over! I went to 2 other rental places before finally finding a car. I will not ever do business with this place again because of this woman.

Everything was good except when I picked up the car it was not especially clean. The passenger seat had crumbs of something on it, and there were drip marks on the headrest and seat, and also in the back seat, where I believe they sprayed cleaner or air freshener but never wiped it down. The lady at the pick-up agency immediately apologized and came out and wiped it down quickly. She was wonderful, and the problem was quickly resolved.

Car reeked of cannabis. Drop off in downtown San Diego was terrible. No staff, no drop off instructions, no one answered the phone. Lost an hour. Ended up returning it back to the airport and they charged me 75 dollars for not returning it to the right location. Total mess.Pretty much everything. Not using Avis again.

Staff was helpful. I had reserved at another location away from the airport. Staff found a car for me at the airport.Maybe clearer that location is not at the airport. It's possible it says that and I missed it.

They cancelled my reservation one hour before pick upWhen I finally did get a car, it was clean and service at the new location I had to go to was efficient and friendly.I was called one hour before my scheduled pick up time (12pm) and was left a voicemail simply confirming my pick up time at 12pm. I happened to call back just to be courteous, and luckily I did because I was then told they did not have a car for me, but they *might* have one at 5pm. They said this as if it were no big deal at all. When I said that was not going to work for me, and requested that they find me a car in the area at a different location, I was told I would receive a call back in 5 minutes. The woman on the phone was extremely rude, unapologetic, and interrupted me repeatedly. A half hour later I had not received a call, so I called to follow up and was informed they had found a car for me, but apparently they had forgotten to call me back to tell me. I was told at this time that my car would be a minivan and not an economy car as I had requested. After arriving at the new location, I asked if they by any chance had an economy car, and was told oh yes no problem of course we do. I'm very confused about why this happened. I was offered no explanation, and was ignored when I asked for one. I was never apologized to and was treated as if this is a regular occurrence. I had scheduled my pick up a week in advance, and had several people depending on my being able to pick up the car at 12pm. This whole experience left me speechless. I have never experienced such poor customer service, and don't feel that I brought this on as I was extremely polite and respectful through my entire interaction with all Avis staff I encountered. I was offered no compensation for the stress and inconvenience of this ordeal and would like a response from your customer service department. Thank you.
