When I landed to pick up my car the young kid at the Payless counter told me I’d have to pay a deposit of $4000 USD ($80,000 pasos) in order to pick up car. Either that or pay 5x the price promised on reservation. Was a complete scam and called the customer service who told me the max deposit was $500 usd. Definitely put a damper on the trip and won’t do that again.Reviewed Mar 8 2025

Terrible. They basically took my money and made me pay $120 in uber fees there and back because they weren’t accepting my form of payment which was from my bank account . I’ve used that card as credit and they wouldn’t even try to run it even though I know it would’ve went through as it has before at other places when I have to run it as credit. My bank even said they should’ve ran it and it would’ve been fine.Reviewed Mar 4 2025

I was disappointed in almost every respect. a) signage in the car-rental line at IND showed "Avis/Budget" but nothing for Payless, so I walked to the counter. I was (rudely) told "I don't care what the sign says; go get in the line." b) 35 minutes later it's my turn and I explain I've rented an electric car and need to drive 100 miles roundtrip. I don't think I'll be able to charge it. What happens? The answer, best as I could figure it out, was "$70 fee". c) That seemed crazy on a $55 rental, so I asked for a gasoline car instead. After 20 minutes and an upcharge I was sent outside to stall H8 to get my car. It was a windy, cold, wet afternoon and stall H8 was empty. It stayed that way for 20 more minutes! -- So, rude staff; an upcharge; and more than an hour from arriving in the rental hall until being able to drive away. Lousy! I noticed that the Hertz counter had no wait line, and smiling staff. Note to self: next time, spend the money and go with Hertz!!Reviewed Feb 7 2025
