The whirlpool tub was amazing! There was not a thing I didn't like!
very close to foxwoods and shuttle bus that takes you every hour. Clean and cozy rooms.
Shuttle service to the casino was extremely convenient.
The staff was noticeably friendlier and more efficient than some at other hotels. Check-in person was genuine. Bar and restaurant staff was also efficient and friendly. Room was comfortable; bathroom is small but efficient.
Hot tube was nice but wish the pool was open The pool was closed
A mile from Foxwoods! Breakfast served until 11:40. Bar in hotel. Very large room and bathroom. Toiletries like makeup remover wipes in the bathroom ! Dunkin donuts across the street. Small TV. We may have gotten a handicap room but we enjoyed the space.
The staff and the casino So noisy i could hear the club from my room on the 14th floor. And price was not worth it 681 for 2 nights now good
The hotel package we used for the weekend there was well worth it. Even though our time was spent roaming around and exploring as many places as possible it was nice to return back to the Fox Tower. We also met a guy by the name of Michael H. Gaudreau and he is the Concierge Representative. Very awesome guy! He helped us out with our bus information and was very welcoming and calm during a stressful situation. Time flies when you're having fun. :(
Beautiful clean room. Amenities were great. Table games affordable. Waited in line at least 45 minutes to check in - unacceptable.
I always stay at the Fox Tower when visiting Foxwoods. I find there to be less children and family running around because it is not directly near the outlets . Love playing the slots here and black jack tables are not always super crowded . Great spare of the moment trip on a Thursday because hotel prices are not to bad . Hotel check in is always so slow Everytime I go besides that Fox Tower is my favorite.
The spa is amazing The restaurant selections were same. Not really healthy options The wait for housekeeping and them not showing up was unacceptable at 500.00 a night.
Views, comfort and amenities I asked for a non smoking room because I have a respiratory issue. Even though the room had no ashtrays and the sign in the hall said no smoking it was obviously a smoking room recently. There were no other rooms available. At checkout I complained and they acknowledged that the floor had recently been changed to non smoking. Unfortunately, I was sick for 3 days after checking out... If it wasn't for that, our stay was wonderful.
The location The lack of cleanliness on the beds ans furniture. Nobody wants to lay there head on other people's hair. I was moved and the next room had stains on the couch and a bit less hair on the bed than the one before. My family member had the same issue in the other room we rented.
Staff was nice, valet is very convenient. Pillows were flat and not comfortable at all. Very expensive and looks nice when you walk in, but then they cheap out on the bedding and shower didn't work well. The tv was placed awkwardly at the foot of our bed. Foxwoods is HUGE... I think we walked 2 miles to get to a restaurant for dinner. Intense workout.
Beds unfortumble room noisy
We loved the view from our room on the 30th floor (top floor). If I were to do it again though I would reccomend future guests to ask for a "woods view". The bed was extremely comfortable & the bathroom was spacious complete with a glass enclosed shower and separate toilet area. Unless you were to use your Foxwoods points Kayak was a much better deal. It was better than the quoted nightly rate (w/ AAA discount applied) that I received from the hotel itself. Also the newest addition to the casino, Tanger Outlets, has an entrance very close by. It's to the right of the small food court & you can't miss the Broadway inspired marquee sign. If you or whoever you're traveling with are shoppers then this is definitely the place to visit. Stop by the Information counter first to inquire about their coupon books for additional $ savings if that interests you. I didn't like the additional up charges from the property $19.49 per night extra & $100 (refundable) security deposit. It felt like I was getting nickel & dimed before I even got to my room. Then come to find out the pool on property is seasonal & the only other one on property is inside the GSpa located on a lower level. So I go there with my girlfriend & there's another charge; $15 a piece for day passes to access the spa ($25 for non hotel guests). I mean what the hell DOES the resort fee cover then? The only other point (for which I removed one star) is location. Fox Tower (formerly MGM Grand) is a hike from the main gambling options & action @ Foxwoods. Although there are slots, table games, multiple dining options & a nightclub right downstairs the real heart of the casino (in my opinion) is on the other side. It's a lengthy walk or grab the free shuttle that transports guests all over the property (every 10-15 minutes from hotel lobby). Overall though, we had a great stay at the property & the likes definitely outweigh the dislikes. Just good to know all the fine print & details before you get there so I figured I'd share.
The G spa was great. That it is ecpensive on the weekends
Great time!!! I wanted to win more money lol....
I liked to be in the middle of everything. I like that there was room service! They also give you free bottled water during your stay in your room. All the staff that I encountered were fabulous and I liked the free valet parking. The enormous amount of walking. Even though you're in the middle of just about everything it's a lot of walking. I was at the end room and it literally was a quarter mile walk just to get to the elevator. Then once you're out of the elevator it's another quarter mile to a half mile walk to the restaurants near the casinos. I also did not like that there are no microwaves in the rooms. It was explained to me that they created "problems".
I like that you can hang around in your robe all day, even while eating lunch or dinner. The spa was too packed! We had to wait to get into the sauna, steam room and the Jacuzzi because there was just too many people in them. Also the security people. I like that they have security, but I felt like it was way too much. I'm a mature woman and I felt like if I did one thing wrong, I would get kicked out of the place. A little uncomfortable.
beautiful historical hotel, very antique in feeling wish the rate included breakfast
Ted & Caroll were just delighful. Would go back again. Evergthing was just perfect. nothing to dislike
We had two couples, two rooms, for a weekend casino trip. This was SO much more interesting and less expensive than staying down the street on-site. Each room had a comfortable 4-post bed, clean bathroom, TV and automatic temperature controlled fireplace. Being a 260+ year-old home, it's rustic open beams and wood floors gave a "step back in time" feel. Hosts Ted and Carol made us feel right at home, and breakfast of baked apple, pancakes, sausage, eggs, coffee/juice was delightful. They also have refreshments available 24/7. This was our first trip, but the four of us already decided we'll definitely become regulars. No complaints. My only regret is that we didn't notice the diary in every room where the past visitors recorded their paranormal experience. We heard stories at breakfast, where another couple filled us in and showed pictures they'd taken that captured floating orbs. Not that it made any difference to our wonderful time, but evidently the Inn is haunted, so keep that in mind if that sort of thing bothers you.
friendly, helpful staff. shuttle to mohegan sun casino. would have liked to have a refrigerator in the room.
The hotel staff were vary helpfull and pleasent. We requested a cot and local info,. Van driver picked us up on time.
Proximity to Mohegan Sun Casino I didn't like the fact that I could hear water rushing through the walls everytime another guest flushed.
Very courteous and helpful staff. They arranged for an extra shuttle bus to come so we would not miss our show. Wish they served some form of breakfast for the price
The reservation that we booked was as it was supposed to be with no surprises.
The bed was comfortable and they had a nice breakfast We did not get the room we requested. The booking was for a room with a king bed. They gave us another room w/ 2 doubles. The room had a large gap in the door. You could see into the room through it. They moved us to another room and although the door locked, the piece where the lock goes into was not there. The hotel is in need of some, what seem to be, minor repairs.
I liked the continental breakfast which includes waffles and eggs and a variety of juices- that was a plesant surprise. No
the room was very spacious and comfortable the included breakfast, it was not good at all. It doesn't compare to other hotels
nice lil breakfast buffet included in stay - free shuttle to mohegn sun casino - and proximity to mohegan sun
not enough staff, had to wait to check in. the line was five peolpe deep and slow moving. Decor very poor. no decorations on walls, main entrance not customer friendly. Breakfast was not ready. Had to wait for the person who knew how to cook the eggs...1 hour. poorly set up, needed more condiments, selections of cereals, no oatmeal...
Location close to 395 and route 2 is very helpful. The Pantry restaurant next door had a GREAT breakfast. This is 2.5 star at best. Rooms are not well insulated to sound, lobby is dated and not very inviting. Desk staff is hard to find because they were out front. We stayed to attend a family function. We'll have to find somewhere else. I will not pay money to stay there.
Staff and guests were sketchy we did not even end up staying the night
