Pros: Everything in this place was excellent! Location - 10min walk from trainstation, right at the seaside. Breakfast was superb with a mix of english-Italian offers and they will make you your coffee of choice - there is also options for vegetarians/vegans with soy yogurt, fruits, hummus & tofu! The staff is amazing and super friendly. I liked the feeling of a small hotel were they know their every customer. Rooms were clean, comfy with really good AC. Me and my small chihuahua had an amazing experience and this was a perfect get-away from the city. Big bonus for being such a pet friendly hotel!

Pros: Hotel Astoria is certainly special. It is perfectly located by the bay, everything is tidy and clean, breakfast is excellent and rich, but what really stood out was the charm, the service mindset and the warmth of the staff. This is without a doubt our prefered hotel option in our next visit to Rapallo.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and the staff were all lovely!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We loved the views from the hotel. Fantastic location. We stayed in the pink building on the top level, not a seafront room but on the side with a view down the coast & a cute balcony. We loved it.
Cons: If you didn’t have a room with a view & a small balcony then it would be a waste of money. Some staff were not so friendly.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and gorgeous rooms. Great food. Would definitely stay there again.
Cons: Very expensive.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The relaxed atmosphere
Cons: The fact that some sunchairs on the front row at the beach could be bought and reserved, this vip separation was a bit odd and unfair sometimes people did not even show up but the best spots could not b e used... strange politics there. It is already an exclusice hotel that is expensive you should be able to use the private beach freely.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Good quality breakfast, excellent restaurant, amazing view. The free parking is a plus
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Phenomenally situated with phenomenal, truly breathtaking picturesque views over the water and the village in an old school, somewhat dated, hotel with the grandeur of yore. The restaurant has one of the best views I know and offers good, rich, old-school Italian cuisine with friendly staff.
Cons: pool was closed for works and the private beach facilities were still closed and that information was not available while booking.

Cons: The master bed matress was stiff and the pillows are quite stiff as well.

Pros: The whole experience was great from the check-in to the check-out. Staff was friendly, room was cery big and the breakfast was stuffed with great things (and very cheap - only six Euros).
Cons: There is only one lift for 8 floors, so it took some time to get it. Luckly we were on the 3rd, so we took the stairs often.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is stunning, it has great attention to detail and if you love the boutique feel then it’s a winner. Such a chic, artistic, chilled out hotel.
Cons: I hate to even to write this but my own comment was that the pool was not yet open on the rooftop and l booked based on having a pool to go to to cool down. However, on the plus side you are able to use hotel pool across the road for a small fee. (Not anything like the hotel blu di the though!)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is really pretty, the staff super nice, the location excellent, high quality toiletries, and a beach bag to use while u are there. Breakfast was outstanding.
Cons: The drinks at the bar were too expensive - 12euros for a sparkling wine from Slovenia is too much

Villa Rosmarino - Camogli - Building
7
9.5 Excellent (77 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Villa Rosmarino hotel on the Portofino Peninsula is a candy-coloured vision of pastels, pinks and pared-down bedrooms. The artwork will amaze, as will the hosting skills of the two fabulous Milanesi running the show.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything. The property is absolutely stunning, beautiful styled, the friendliest / most helpful staff and owners. The location is unreal, one of the prettiest places I’ve been, let alone stayed. Camogli is a stunning little town, less touristy than its neighbours, but so much nicer. This place is a hidden gem and the owners can give you lots of tips for places to visit, eat and drink. We got a boat to San Frattuoso and then onto Portofino which we did in one afternoon which is all you will need. We ate lunch at La Cantina in San Frat. thanks to our hosts which was lovely. Highly recommend at least 2 nights, we will definitely be back.
Cons: Leaving
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Splendid !!! We had really a great time in this wonderful house. Thank you very much for everything !!! See you soon :-).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Villa Rosmarino is what dreams are made of. A beatutiful villa, with few but beautifully decorated rooms and interiors, a lovely garden and pool with a stunning view of Camogli and the sea. Mario and Fulvio are wonderful hosts, they can help with some top recommendations for restaurants or places to visit. They offer the most delicious breakfast and you can order drinks throughout the day. Simply perfect!
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very good location if you have a car or like walking as it is away from the town and is set in a beautiful garden with a pool with wonderful views over the bay. The breakfast was very good and it was more relaxing to be served rather than having to serve yourself. The room was quiet, contemporary in style, and the bed very comfortable. The staff were hospitable and very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and places to visit by car and train.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great experience with a lot of attention for each detail. Villa itself and the surrounding are very nicely arranged. There is a secure parking place positioned on the property. Though the villa is not directly at the coast, it is a good starting point for either going to the Camogli seaside (ca 10 minute walk) or for hiking in natural park of Portofino. The proprietor and everyone of the staff are kind and helpful - we have received a lot of relevant and useful information immediately at the arrival.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about Villa Rosmarino: the villa is traditionally Ligurian yet exceptionally functional and clean. The bed is large and comfy with lovely crispy linens. Breakfast is the best, alongside staff’s hospitality. It was a wonderful weekend for us
Cons: Nothing really, even the 15’ walk to town through the cobbled alleyway and romantic steps was just perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stylish,clean & comfortable
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful villa with breathtaking sea views lovingly renovated with great taste. Nice design furniture and art. Breakfast is served on the terrace. Loved the freshly squeezed watermelon juice. Mario, the owner, is a great host. He knows the Portofino area very well and is good connected. He got us a dinner reservation in Portofino’s Puny same day. Martha is very caring. Highly recommended is the little romantic room top level with balcony with magnificent views.
Cons: We just loved everything
7.5 Good
Pros: Amazing view. Nice hotel
Cons: We came late so we got the room on the ground floor

Pros: Felt like home , was amazing, loved the track up hill with the garden and beach club
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Views were great, it is definitely not a modern hotel but that’s part of the charm. Breakfast was lovely and staff was wonderful.
Cons: The air conditioning in the bedroom was weak. When you get to the beach, the best beds are often mysteriously already “reserved” for others. There didn’t seem to be food or beverage service at the beach, no one taking water, drink or food orders to your chairs. That’s always a very nice and luxurious touch at other hotels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spa area, newly remodeled gym! Super breakfasy
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Elegance from a bygone era. Italian riviera luxury with all its charm and slight out of date everything :). Take it for it is and you’ll be happy.
10.0 Excellent

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful as always.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location , the view, the breakfast is perfect, there is a big buffet, a lot and plenty to eat.
Cons: The carpet in the room is stained and old. The floor is old and has parts that are not leveled. The shower must close all the way otherwise it does get wet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was Perfect!!!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is perfectly located on the oceanfront and a short scenic drive from Portofino and Santa Margherita. It’s certainly got a palatial feel. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Our room had 180 degree water views that looked like promo shots for a video advertisement. Beautiful.
Cons: There’s a patina gathering on furnishings and decor which adds to the palace feel but does stop the hotel feeling fresh. The pool and spa area shuts at 7pm. About the time you get back from a hot day out and want to cool off. However This seems to be normal in Italy despite daylight stretching out till 10pm in summer. Laying by the pool in dusk drinking a Campari would round off the day.
5.8 Okay
Pros: I liked the sea view from each corner of the hotel
Cons: Only two main resturants and food not good The lunch buffet also was using not fresh ingredients
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff! can't wait to go back!

7.0 Good
Pros: This hotel is stunningly beautiful. The outdoor spaces are perfectly manicured, the restaurants and halls are gorgeous. The location is perfect. The pool and seaside area is just as pictured and are perfect.
Cons: The staff have no customer service skills at all. They lost our business at every meal as we preferred to leave the hotel and eat elsewhere than deal with the service (non-existent) at the hotel. The only staff that were attentive were the lifeguards.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, facilities and staff all outstanding
Cons: Nothing!
5.5 Okay
Pros: The views
Cons: No privacy in the hotel to noisy from early mornings even their was door between our room and other room we can hear every think I booked the room for 2 nights and I checked out after one night the hotel charged me for two nights.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: All was good except that the pool is really too small
Cons: The swimming pool
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The spa downstairs is gorgeous. Staff are amazing. The hotel really does live up to expectations. All round, an excellent stay!
Cons: Provide Ice water in the reception especially when it’s hot.
7.0 Good
Pros: The interior design of the hotel (although rooms are quite outdated) Price was fair Nice view on the terrace Staff tries to be helpful
Cons: Location: quite far from the city center, and next to the train station (definitely not the best location for evening walks) Absence of pool, while hot tub is just next to the restaurant tables (I.e. someone could be having bath just next to you eating) Rooms are very small, furniture is antique, but in quite bad condition Parking costs 25 eur + TAX (which you’re not informed about btw), and you need to wait while they bring your car back. Several times we had to wait for 15-20 minutes! Breakfast is not 5* level (they use palm oil for frying, and it tastes quite badly) Ironing room is on one floor, and for whatever reason you need to ask someone bring you an iron, because it’s not there! It is quite weird to have 1 iron for the hotel which supposed to be 5* Extremely limited choice of food for out-of working hours of the restaurant (eg late evening, for instance )
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location
Cons: This hotel cannot be rated as a 5 stars, it doesn't deserve the rating it got on booking.com so far. Below are some of the things that were really wrong with this hotel: - the room itself: is very dated, while the old style of the room is to be appreciated, the furnishing and bed covers were very old, I am not even sure when was the last time that orange bed cover or bed head were washed. - the breakfast: the idea to have someone play piano during breakfast is nice, but it was way too loud. Also the service was a bit understaffed if you were deciding to have breakfast after 9h30, they were barely managing to find you a table, get you coffee etc. - the parking: this was our biggest disappointment. we paid 75EUR for 3 nights to have our car parked in a secure parking and when we got it the last day, it was scratched. I find this unacceptable, especially that both the parking valet and the lady at the reception said in Italian (so that we don't understand, but we did) that we complain too much and that you cannot even see the scratch. - you cannot sleep after 9 o'clock in this hotel, the cleaning lady starts cleaning a bit before 9 and wakes up everyone with the noise, sometimes on holiday guests would appreciate sleeping late. Overall, this hotel needs refurbishing to live to its 5 stars standard, the services need to be improved.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: Dirty, expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great ambiente of Genovas ancient days of glorious merchant times. Like the movie Grand Budapest.
Cons: The pools are place in the terreace with all the guest, that was not comfortable for its use.
6.8 Good
Cons: Not a very clean place.Needs repainting and redecorating.Definitely NOT a 5 star standard. Piano player at breakfast was playing so loud we barely could hear each other speaking.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, it has a good selección of fruits, bread, cold meats, juic
Cons: We arrived and there was no one in the reception no one to help with luggage
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Utterly amazing for the price!
Cons: More milk in the bedroom for the tea and coffee.
10.0 Excellent

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very modern style in a very old building. Tricky to find though in the rabbit warren that is old Genoa. Those streets must date back over 200 years and Iyhink I got lost more there than.in Venice!
5.5 Okay
Pros: The staff were lovely and the room was cleans.
Cons: So unsafe, no cameras and it seems to be in the middle of nowhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming little apartment with a sick view and by the old town and church :)
Cons: Some dodgy neighboring street but it’s not unsafe
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely loved the hotel, perfect location close to the centre and the port. Great breakfast selection, everything was top! And add a lift to the square for the bus!
Cons: Nothing!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully restored floor of an old palace that was used for dignitaries in the 15th century. Quite unique and modern. Quiet. Great location for visiting Genova & day trips.
Cons: Difficult to find. Park at Porto Antico near aquarium, walk across street, enter at Delfin bar & put Santa Maria delle Vigne into your phone. It is across from this church. You cannot drive to the hotel. It seems like a sketchy area if you arrive at night, but it is fine. Many stores, restaurants nearby.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It felt like living in an apartment due to the hotel being part of a residential building. The setting opposite the Sancta Maria della Vigne church is perfect.
Cons: If you aren't too clever climbing steep stairs up or down to the bed area, be vigilant when booking your room..some have beds on the level..best enquire from hotel if booking which room number has bed on level if you have problems with stairs..

Pros: Great recommendations from Carla and Giovanni and very good breakfast. We bought wine and oil from a local trattoria and eat the most amazing food of Liguria. They know everything about the area. The house was created from a 500 year old stone house with great environmental awareness. It is modern and the design and house material is high tech. Still it fits into the olive trees in the surroundings. Amazing!!

Pros: Location
Cons: No room service. Guests must walk to the lobby to get shampoos/towels. Car valet isn’t actually a car valet. Once you give the lobby your car’s key, you cannot have your car until the next morning.

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location cannot be better - the hotel is on the main street, walking distance to most of the museums and to the old port, less than a 100 meters from a subway station that leads to the two major railway stations in Genoa. The breakfast was great, especially if you choose to sit on the terrace. Our room was relatively large for an hotel, with plenty of closet space. And, of course, the historic staircase in the hotel is an attraction for itself.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is beautiful with excellent rooms and views of the marina. The staff was welcoming and accommodating, and the buffet breakfast in the morning was excellent. We loved the views and the in-room espresso machine!
Cons: We loved everything about the hotel, it is just that the area at night feels a little run down and questionable. It is important to keep your eyes open if you walk around at night.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is just in front of the marina, the room have a balcony with a nice view. The bed is giant and confy !
Cons: The breakfast is really nice but a little expensive
8.8 Excellent
Pros: great location, short drive off the main highway to the airport, on the marina near many family friendly attractions and short distance to walk to the main center of town. Comfortable rooms, had a balcony overlooking the marina you are on. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. There is a restaurant/ bar which is a great place to grab a few drinks before heading to dinner with a cozy patio on the marina.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This hotel has spacious and comfortable rooms and is in a great location for exploring the old centre of the city just 5 minutes walk away. It also sufficiently far from the main road and flyover along the quayside to avoid the noise and fumes from the traffic. Convenient and accessible on-site parking (if rather expensive).
Cons: It was great to have a balcony on which to sit and admire the cityscape and the yachts moored below - just a pity it was so small that you could barely move on it. Overall however the hotel's communal areas are rather too characterless to feel welcoming - it probably doesn't matter as you will want to sit in pavement cafe or walk the old streets of the nearby city.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel offers an incredible view of the marina and of the old town which is only a 10 minute walk away. There was a lovely terrace bar to watch the boats bobbing whilst sipping a cold glass of wine.
Cons: There were plastic straws at the bar.
6.8 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good, the breakfast staff were very good (unlike the reception staff, hence my lower overall score for staff). The beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom were cleaned on a daily basis. Our toiletries were replaced when we finished them which is unusual but appreciated.
Cons: The room we booked was advertised as having a view and a terrace, not a balcony but a terrace. If you look at a regular double room it is advertised as a balcony but if you upgrade to a premium room it comes with a terrace. I was gutted when we arrived to find out that the view was the back of the aquarium (like big industrial units) and the terrace was 1x2 ft balcony. We paid a premium to get a view and a terrace and we got neither. Straight away I went down to reception to confirm that we had the correct room and was met by blank stares, the view is the view and all the balcony's are the same size. When I asked if I could get the room with the terrace I was told they did not have any rooms with a terrace. It ruined my holiday, I was expecting somewhere to sit in the sun looking out over the harbour - not a tiny balcony which did not get the sun looking out at industrial units - we were there for 7 nights - it was a slog to stay the whole time and if there had been a way to cancel and get our money back I would have.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, view are A*
Cons: Dated design
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were very pleased with everything. Staff were helpful, friendly, service and cleanliness excellent. Breakfast was one of the best we've experienced. Location was really peaceful but close to the busy city shops and restaurants and the Marina was very interesting to look out over. The room was sound proofed and very quiet.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It’s real 4 stars hotel, with all meanings.. It deserves extra half star too
Cons: The floor had grains of sands. Nothing else
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room Size was great

Cons: Everything was great
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, and room design
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Large room and well decorated. Big bathroom. Comfortable couch and bed. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Pricy and noisy. Being on a near top floor we could hear everyone entering the hotel after the front entrance was closed. Noise carries throughout hallway.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A very beautiful hotel right opposite the train station Principe, which is very convenient for the ones who want to explore the riviera and surprisingly safe as well. The hotel gave us portable wifi (really useful) and let us use the jacuzzi of the grand hotel savoia. All in all, great experience.
Cons: Breakfast could have been included in price and the reception should stay open 24/7, because after 23:00, you have to enter the hotel through the hotel next door and it s too much trouble. Other than that, everything was great.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was clean and cool with effective AC. The position was perfect for us, as we used it as a stopover between Cinque Terre and Lake Garda. It was a little noisy with the traffic outside, but to be expected with it being so central.
Cons: As above, a little noisy and you had to pay extra for breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property was exceptional. It is now probably my favorite hotel. It is absolutely beautiful. The location is fantastic. It is very clean. The complimentary bottle of water they give you each day is a really nice touch. My room (executive double room) was huge. I love this place

Pros: Location was perfect. Close to city centre, restaurants, bars and points of interest. Breakfast was very good and good value at Euro 5. Staff were very friendly and eager to help. They were also happy and welcoming.
Cons: No car parking at the hotel. You need to park at different location which is a little expensive at Euro 22 per day.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very central, lovely staff, excellent shower.
Cons: TV was terrible. No Sky, no sport. But was not there to watch TV. Bar fridge was tiny, lacked ice but staff provided.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really kind, great and helpful.
Cons: Floor was not really clean, not pleasant for those who remove shoes inside.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were marvellous and the room was comfortable but a bit small for a large bed .Wi Fi worked well and the buffer style breakfast was excellent. When I return to Genoa,I will stay there again.
Cons: It is no fault of the hotel, but Genoa like most cities in the world has severe parking problems. I was on a motorcycle and had to scour the surrounding streets to find somewhere to park. If you can visit this wonderful city without a car or motorcycle, you will save yourself a great deal of stress.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a great location - in the old town center, you can easily walk everywhere by feet. We stayed with your dog. We were pleasantly surprised that the staff brought us dog bowls and bed - it was really nice :) Breakfast was good. Wifi was super fast. Room was a bit outdated but the bathroom was really nice and big.
Cons: Room was a bit dark and our window was just a 2 meters from another building wall, but probably in Genoa, it is hard to get a better view since every building is close to each other.
