Built in 1988, Le Meridien San Francisco is a 24-story high-rise hotel with a business vibe and bay views. Renovated in 2015, Le Meridien San Francisco is a stylish upscale hotel in the Financial District that connects to the Embarcadero Center via a pedestrian bridge. Given its location and facilities, the hotel draws a large number of business travelers, but plenty of couples stay here too.

Situated in the bustle of San Francisco’s Financial District, Le Meridien is in an area that is a hub of boutique shopping, restaurants, theaters, events, and art exhibitions during the week, but on the weekends a quiet and empty part of town. Banks, restaurants, bars, and public transportation are within a seven-minute walk of the hotel on Market Street. Within a longer walking distance of the hotel are Union Square, Chinatown, and the Ferry Building Marketplace. Pier 39 on Fisherman’s Wharf, Alamo Square, Golden Gate Bridge, and Haight-Ashbury are all within a short drive.

Geared toward business travelers, the hotel features 14 meeting spaces, a business center, and free WiFi for SPG members. The hotel’s Bar 33 in the lobby is a popular after-work stop, as is the Park Grill restaurant with American cuisine and courtyard seating. A 24-hour gym is also on-site for a good day or night workout.

Each room at the hotel is designed to envision San Francisco with a city-chic, monochromatic motif. All rooms feature a large 55-inch flat-screen TV with satellite channels, well-stocked mini-bars, and other necessities for traveling guests. Pros (+) The rooms were much roomier than most SF hotels we've stayed at. We purposely picked FiDi instead of Union Square because we wanted the extra space. We got the executive suites with king beds because they were not much more expensive than the regular rooms. Pros (+) Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was immaculate and well-appointed. Beds were comfortable. Location was awesome with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, parking garages within close walking distance, and walking distance to Bay Area.
