The hotel is located just blocks away from Union Square, Chinatown, the Financial District and the Moscone Convention Center. From the famed 1909 Maxfield Parrish mural “The Pied Piper of Hamlin” in our Pied Piper bar to the grandeur of The Garden Court to the sky-lit indoor pool, the Palace Hotel captures a timeless sophistication that is as distinct as it is inviting. Experience gracious hospitality on a grand scale in our 556 rooms and suites, evidenced by soaring 11-foot ceilings, original architectural details, crisp bedding, marble bathrooms, and a host of thoughtful and luxurious modern amenities.
Really cool amenities, close to everything you need.Room service was nice and really cool views.
I didn't like that after driving two hours up to SF,having reserved my room almost a week in advance they informed me my room was not ready, then couldn't give me an answer as to why or how long it would take to clean.Luckily friends who were getting married in the city had their room so we stayed there and waited almost an hour and a half until they called me to tell me it was finally ready then didn't offer much to try and make the situation better
Decor, comfort and staff interactions.
I did not sleep all night due to an event at the hotel where people were slamming doors and talking in the halls all night.
Fantastic SF landmark...we never left the Hotel.
The hotel is stunning and the staff is so nice. I loved the history and the elegance of the place.
I liked everything.
I liked the overall appearance - the old world charm with today's amenities - great pool! the servic

The room was beautiful and the staff was exceptionally friendly. The location was convenient.
We liked everything.
The kids especially loved the indoor pool and the staff in the pool area were extremely gracious and helpful.
very good location and excellent pld decor
Allows animals so we have dogs barking a couple of nights. Regular noice from the plumbing also disturbed us
Location was great and staff.
Bathrooms are way to small, shower did not drain properly.
The concierge staff were really knowledgeable & helpful. The room was big enough and the beds were comfortable. The location was good.
Housekeeping was inefficient. They do not have kettle for boiling water like how a typical 3-4 star hotel would offer. Lastly, they didnt give me a room till 3.45 which is 45 mins after hotel check in timing (total turn off as i travel with a 3mth old baby and we were roomless for abt 3hrs?). The 5 star rating of the hotel really didnt meet my expectation.
The staff was warm and welcoming. For a hotel in the city it was spacious. The location was great for walking around the city and visiting sites. Close to shopping and fine dining. Would stay there again and recommend to friends!
The central location in San Francisco
The extra charges for internet access over and above the room charge
appearance of the interior of the lobby, restaurants, restrooms
location seems to be the hub of the homelessness problem; we were harassed repeatedly by homeless persons at the entrance to the hotel. One man even followed us into the hotel to beg for money.
