Located on a pedestrian street within walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Room faced away from the street and was quiet. Room rate included free secure parking. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful in pointing out local sites and places to eat.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful and their english was good. Jorge at the front desk was a super star. I'd had some challenges with my room on an earlier/previous stay and then again on my most recent stay so Jorge upgraded me to a suite. But they had remodeling construction going on and the suite was right above the noisy area so Jorge moved me to a nicer suite away from the noise and provided some other comforts to make up for the inconvenience. He really went out of his way to make me comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and the servers and cooks top notch. Unfortunately the remodeling construction was loud in the mornings if you wanted to sleep in. And although the location was central in San Jose with easy access to shops and taxi's the street noise from vendors yelling sometimes was irritating.
Located just off the bustling central street, the Hotel Presidente offers refined comfort in their modern-designed hotel. From friendly greeting from the staff to a tasty breakfast, our stay was pleasant from beginning to end. The location allows any traveler to find restaurants and the Teatre Nacional within minutes. For such a modern and refined hotel, we were surprised to find the window would not lock shut! Though we were up high, this "insecurity" may cause anxiety for some; for others, like us, we prefer to have the window open at night. Our bed was also surprisingly hard while among new bathroom facilities when also in a room with new bathroom facilities.
The atmosphere, the fact that is new and clean. The personnel of the hotel, the food during breakfast. I did not like the streets surrounding the hotel
The professional staff was incredible.
Don't leave the hotel after dark.
Location was excellent-right on the pedestrian walkway convienient to stores, restaurants, and sights. Breakfast was included and had made to order eggs, and other offerings. Wi-fi was free. Rooms were very comfortable and very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Very clean! Cool vibe. Great location. Incredible breakfast included. Very amicable staff.
Friendly sttaf, good location in the main city. It has breakfast Maybe for some an air conditioner will be necessary.
Best hostel that I have been to! Rooms are quite large and bathrooms are kept clean. Highly recommend this location for those looking to save some money!
Safe Laid back Very clean! The front desk staff friendly and helpful!
Clean (like, immaculate!), pretty and comfortable. The perfect place to spend a night or two. The staff was friendly, the food was good, and the atmosphere was very peaceful. Walking distance to shops, downtown squares and panaderias. There is a train that runs behind the property a couple times a day. It's not too loud and we never heard it at night, but important to note for people who are really noise sensitive.
Nothing to Like They over charge you when you get there for stuff that you didnt even hear about it.
the breakfast was okay. location is okay if you're staying a night and have to go to the airport the next day. The front desk staff lacks professionalism. On one occasion, I was hoping to use the phone to book a tour. The front desk attendant said that he knew a better company and dialed a number and my friend didn't really ask for specifics and booked the tour. As a side note, that company that starts with the letter "M" was the worst experience I had in Costa Rica in terms of safety while driving. Not only did the front desk attendant have the audacity to refer us to this "M" company, when I called to ask what the company's name was he told me to act like we asked for the number and not tell anyone that he had referred us to them. This is not even the tip of the iceberg. On one occasion, my friend and I were getting a couple of drinks and since most people go out at night, we were called "squares" in Spanish for staying in and drinking at the hotel instead of outside. We found two cockroaches in the hotel which is normal since the front door is always open, but upon finding a third cockroach a day later, I managed to keep it under a glass and left it for the cleaning staff to discard because I forgot to do it. When we returned later that same night and the room was cleaned, we were not given a new glass. The cleaning staff rinsed the glass and left it on top of the desk. I mean, who does that? As a side note, the cockroach was about two inches big and touched the surface of the cup.
Good location if you want to walk around . Hot water and clean , nice bathrooms . Good for the money considering the country . Not all rooms have a/c , not that it's always needed , but the city is noisy at night and the fan only noise helps .
Clean place, friendly staff They need better pillows
We really enjoyed our stay. It had a great location.
Ok so the staff is so nice but room 414 had little to no water pressure and trickle of hot water...... I asked the front to change rooms but because they were full no possible.... So sucked it up and took Luke warm shower for two days.... Manager said he would comp a dinner at hotel eatery .... Didn't happen and no one seemed to know how it would work. Bed was comfortable location is great for San Jose . My best advice to anyone staying in Costa Rica is get out of San Jose and see the countryside unless u want to be in New York meets Tijuana Staff is super nice Breakfast is great Bed was comfortable Location is superb although good luck finding the entrance of you drive in from airport alow 2 hrs for 10km No kidding Traffic is something out of a comic book u will understand if you see it first hand Costa Ricans in general are so nice honest and hard working people enjoy
Save your money and spend it somewhere else it smelled bad the people were rude we paid extra for upgrade the AC did not work breakfast was late the shuttle to airport was late. It was supposed to be free but cost 30.00 I'm trying to find something good to say about it Sorry I can't .
Awesome location, right in the heart of San Jose. Walking distance to the major downtown sights, like the theatres, cathedrals, and markets. The restaurant is great, and the lobby is well kept. Rooms are run down, and not in the best condition. We had to change rooms because of bugs in the first. AC would have been nice.
Location location location! Couldn't have been in a better location. So close to all the tourist spots and good restaurants. San Jose is surprisingly a great city to explore on foot. It certainly has its gems. The staff at the hotel was AMAZING and super friendly and helpful. The included breakfast on the top floor was certainly a treat each morning.
The hotel is average. The room is small, no coffee machine the place was almost empty I asked to change my room and they said no No map of the city no free coffee in the lobby Next day they had no soup or shampoo The place needs a new management. Small things makes the place great
Every time I entered the grounds it was like an oasis in the heart of a very large city. Beautiful pool and landscaping. Quite relaxing and the staff was very helpful as well. landscaping, very relaxing and the staff Was a few blocks from shopping and a national park but way too far from the airport. Was a $35 taxie ride from the airport.
