When you’re looking for the beauty of Southern California without the crowding of Los Angeles or Orange County, there is one place that perfectly addresses this need – Santa Barbara. Located just north of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara’s south-facing coastline gives everyone a chance to enjoy California as it once was – an unspoiled natural beauty. Staying at the Orange Tree Inn is a great way to experience one of California’s jewels.
The Orange Tree Inn is a small hotel, with only 45 guest rooms but being small this means the staff’s attentiveness is second to none. Many guests note that even after a short stay they feel as if they’re on a first name basis with the staff and remark at how all their needs were met. With a swimming pool and cabana, this hotel provides the perfect place to relax. The rooms have plush bedding and large LCD tv’s as well.
Dining options are not on site; however, Santa Barbara is a beach community with lots of different options. Just a short walk from the hotel are many great restaurants. You could get in the car and drive a little bit as well. There are plenty of dining options for all palettes. Similarly, there are lots of activities in nature such as hiking that are a short drive away from the hotel as well.
The Orange Tree Inn is one of the reminders that despite its growth, California is still in many ways the warm, welcoming place it has always been. The small-town vibe is ideal for folks who want to visit the Golden State but don’t wish to contend to the population of more famous Southern California locations.

Pros. The rooms are clean, it was quiet and staff was friendly.
Pros. A very pleasant stay. Found staff to be very helpful.
Pros. We have been using this motel for years when we go see our doctors at Sansum Clinic. We are pleased with the improvements made over the years.
Cons. Some ants in bathroom. Electric Plugs were loose and plugs for laptop and hair blower would easily fall out. It would be nice to have better lighting over desk and larger shelf in bathroom. I like a dark room when sleeping and drapes let light in in the morning. We were able to get a great rate this stay, but in the past have found rates to be too high (seasonal) and had to choose a motel with lower rate. It would be nice if they had a special consistent rate for their repeat clients.
Pros. Clean room Good price Wi fi actually worked Parking included in price
Cons. No continental breakfast No refrigerator in the room No microwave in the room
Pros. Updated decore
Cons. Felt old and cold not warm and inviting. Even though the room was updated and clean.I will say the staff was nice.
Pros. Clean
Cons. No breakfast, no hot tub, very noisy.
Pros. It seemed to be clean.
Cons. There was absolutely no room to put toiletries in the bathroom. I had to set things on the toilet lid, which is not very sanitary. The room was not worth more than $50, at the most. I don't think we would stay there again.
