Pros: breakfast is fine
Cons: no
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for visiting University of Illinois. Clean and quiet.
Cons: None
6.7 Good
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean
Cons: "free" breakfast was one of the simplest, cheapest ones I can ever recall. The fruit had 3 green apples, 3 red apples, 3 bananas -- all evenly spaced 1 inch apart. Organized - yes. Volumpious - no. Breakfast choices also included a tub of oatmeal - are we at a soup kitchen? There was minimal starches - toasting ones food was the highlight of the breakfast. There were these odd looking breakfast wraps. These were presented wrapped in aluminum foil - appeared to be baked potatoes. Moderately tasty, but not appealing. As for staff, the head female was rude to customers, short with fellow staff, and discussed hotel/staff frustrations out in the open. There was not signage to distinguish btwn complimentary breakfast vs restaurant location. I, along with 6 other individuals on separate occasions, went to the wrong seating area. It seemed the head female enjoyed correcting if customers as we could not easily determined where to go. Juices were hard to find. When I asked, the lead female pointed me into the correct direction and then said "You probably couldn't find them because you just woke up." -- Nope! It's because you have minimal symoblance of presentation.

Champaign Garden Inn - Champaign - Building

9.4 Excellent (89 reviews)

Pros: The location, the upkeep of the property, two adorable pups and the vintage vibe of the whole place is amazing. Also, bottled water and tea and snacks are available always which is amazing.
Cons: Breakfast is good, some common items such as waffle iron or scrambled eggs can be added.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kevin really makes you feel at home
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and historic character, managers very accomodating for my later arrival
Cons: Breakfast featured self-served mostly prepackaged items; expected a good home prepared B&B breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice looking, room quite attractive and grounds nice looking. Staff did excellent job of orientation BUT, see below.
Cons: Thought the breakfast was totally lacking for a couple of reasons. First, it was not a prepared breakfast and to their credit it was not advertised as such. It was presented as a Continental Breakfast. So what was wrong? Almost everything was packaged product and so wasteful with the mound of trash that was generated from our simple eats. The coffee was from a Keurig machine. We absolutely hate these things as they create a large amount of unrecyclable trash. Everything except breads were factory wrapped in cellophane or plastic wrappers. Fresh product from a local bakery and real coffee would have been a major improvement.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was adequate and the cocktail hour was nice.
Cons: Bathroom leaked through the tiles. Floor tiles looked very dirty. Furniture needs to be renewed. Had a king suite that smelled very moldy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds, nice linens. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: the food and pool
Cons: Some of the staff members treated my family and me as we weren't paying guest.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds are very comfortable and the room was modern and very clean. We enjoyed the free popcorn (although there were a lot of guests so it was hard to refill) and the complementary drinks. Good price for such a nice hotel.
Cons: It would be nice if a few incidentals were free. I forgot toothpaste and a shaver. I’ve stayed in hotels in Asia and they provide all kinds of incidentals. The dinners are pretty unremarkable at this location. But we enjoyed having some appetizers and free drinks. It’s at least more than what other hotels provide.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was very convenient to our purpose in Champaign - moving our son to the University of Illinois - as it was located right off the highway. Everything was 15 minutes away. The hotel itself was clean, nicely done, all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and housekeeping was very attentive. We enjoyed the well-stocked complimentary breakfast and also the "Kickback" happy hour in the lobby. It was also helpful that there was a guest laundry available as we were staying a week.
Cons: I don't think any aspect of our stay was not to our liking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and spacious rooms. We got a free drink as soon as we arrived. The staff was so wonderful and friendly with everything. There was free breakfast in the morning.
Cons: Not a lot of places to park
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolute CLEANEST room we've ever been in (I even strip the sheets to check the mattress when staying at a hotel, not one thing to fret about!!) Included hot breakfast was very good, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, muffins, make your own waffle and more. Bed was the MOST comfortable bed I've ever slept in (better than ours at home). Staff was helpful and super friendly. I even forgot shampoo for our trip, and the shower had body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers for your convenience. Restaurants were walkable from the hotel (Red lobster, Chili's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebees)...Not one single complaint!
Cons: (This is a positive really!!) They offer an included free dinner (with three alcoholic drinks as well) per night...we never made it back to the hotel each night to enjoy that, but that's not their fault--we were just too busy during our stay!! We did make it back one night as they were wrapping up, everything looked delicious!!

Pros: Very clean and friendly staff. Slept well on a comfortable king bed and pillows. Suite living area was not as cushy as a living room but certainly good to sit awhile.
Cons: Breakfast was NOT AWESOME. Very friendly attendants but the food was sub par. And we aren’t picky eaters. (The second morning we ate breakfast at Urbana Gardens restaurant across the intersection. Very good food, great service.) Water from the bathroom sink never got warm regardless how long it ran. But shower temp was ok. Location is good. We’d come back again but we will not eat there.

Pros: Bed and bedding were superb!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very large and comfortable room. Great beds. Good breakfast. Quiet. Clean. Felt like a more expensive hotel.
Cons: Our non smoking room smelled weird but we got used to the smell after being inside for a bit.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked all the extra pillows. Breakfast was good, unique waffle maker. Did not use the pool but the elevator ride is spectacular. It was heart racing.
Cons: Bacon could be thicker. Elevator did not require a quarter to be shaky when stopping. No alcohol in mini fridge.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The facility was clean and quiet and easy on and off to interstate and close to UI.
Cons: The beds were a little hard for me. Breakfast was plentiful but just ok. It was hard to keep the temperature in room constant.

Pros: This hotel was clean and seemingly brand new. It is walking distance from several things, and just a short drive from Champaign’s downtown district.
Cons: While the location of the actual front door is mildly confusing, it was not that big of a deal.

Pros: Staff at front desk was awesome!
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff I met were very helpful, cheerful and chatty. The kitchen area is stocked with dishes, the AC worked beautifully, despite it being Feburary (I like to sleep in a cold room), and there were plenty of pillows in varying densities and lovely, soft extra blankets. Plenty of hot water, nice shower head, ideal water pressure. There's an Espresso Royal ~400' away and a Walgreens next door.
Cons: The elevator was out (the doors were being painted? And I couldn't find a person or sign to direct me to a working elevator -- probably because we checked in at 11pm -- so we just kept walking until we found one. The walls are a bit thin in this place, the windows do not open and I wish I'd gotten a room with a tub instead of a shower, but that's not a big deal for a one-night stay.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: My so had his 14th birthday part at the hotel so he, had a couple friends come and swim, pool was ok he enjoyed himself, only downfall was there was alot of kids jumping in and out causing alot of water to build up on the walk way almost fell a couple times, conversation area was excellent was a great place to gather with friends for food and cake.
Cons: The first lady was checking in was very polite, but I say maybe a couple hours later, her coworker that came in was a different story, I overheard her making rude comments about why would I let my kids walk through the lobby with wet feet now she had to mop it up, I went to the lobby to ask if there was any towels, it's his birthday he was a little excited so he run out without out properly drying off, she could have politely asked my son to go back to the pool area or wait on the carpet, not make rude comments under her breath, but like I said in my previous comment there was a lot of water built up so you were going to track water no matter what, but I'm not going to give a bad review for one rude employee

Pros: The breakfast was good and the facility was excellent. The room is laid out nicely and a great addition is the smart TV that lets you use your accounts like Netflix while traveling.
Cons: The only thing that was not as good was the pool. For some reason maybe the exhaust fan was broken but the enclosed pool was way too hot. I couldn't even stay there with my daughter. She still swam and I went outside into the courtyard. Other parents also thought it was hot. The door was propped open but that was not enough. I never heard why or if they tried to fix it.

Pros: It was near the shopping mall.
Cons: We stayed 2 nights and our room wasn't cleaned after the first night. We had to call for new towels and after a long wait, they brought them but didn't remove the old ones. We also paid for the breakfast option but there was no breakfast offered. The staff didn't seem that interested in resolving these issues. Also the image on the tv kept freezing and was limited for movies, etc. This felt more like an $80/night hotel, not the $150 we paid.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Not sure about other reviews. Breakfast was warm and good. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable!
Cons: They should have a little sitting area outside for smokers.
6.3 Good
Pros: The bed...the air conditioning...and the spa tub.
Cons: The fan in the bathroom didn't work so every time I took a hot shower or tried to use the hot tub that I paid extra for, the fire alarm would go off. That was extremely annoying that staff had to call and come to the door worried that we had started a fire. When I told them about the fan, they seemed uninterested and implied that I had done something wrong. FIX THE EXHAUST FAN! And then you won't have that issue. When I was checking out, the front counter told me it had happened 3 times earlier in the week. So, when the manager came to my room and gave me the stern face of "what did you do?", I promised myself that I wouldn't go back. Even though I liked the bed. The breakfast was only ok. It would be an awesome hotel if they fixed that and maybe changed the sausage at breakfast.
7.9 Good
Cons: The breakfast is terrible but other than that they stay was good
6.7 Good
Pros: The new room remodels were very nice and modern. The beds were comfy and the best I've slept in, in the area. Plenty of room and nice appointments. Plenty of parking.
Cons: Our room was on the same floor and directly next to at least 6 rooms that were getting renovated. The work began at 7am and interrupted our sleep. Then the construction set off the fire alarms. No refunds or discounts were issued when asked.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and friendly staff . I had problems with my tv and they were there in 5min to reset the set.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: We booked two queen beds and got one king. Adult mother and daughter would have preferred separate beds.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: The room needed a couch instead of a chair
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly the place was very nice and updated and clean. Loved breakfast and being able to stay until noon for checkout.
Cons: There was a dirty wash cloth in our shower
6.7 Good
Pros: It was clean.
Cons: This was the first time I’ve stayed in a hotel, where EVERYTHING could be heard through the ceiling and walls. Like a cheap apartment building. I was woken up several times by people moving things around above us. I could also hear the water running through the walls, from someone showering. So weird.
7.0 Good
Cons: The key system is terrible. Very inconsistent and leaves you standing outside trying again and again to get in. Very frustrating. Funny how a little thing like that can ruin an otherwise good stay.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: Had issues with my room door, which resulted in the maid staff not realising they left my door open all day. Attempted to talk with management and still have not heard back
5.0 Okay
Cons: Trash piled in hallway right under sign that says don't leave trash here. Had maid service just 1 day because all they did was make the bed,
