The location was excellent. The room was clean although not new. People were extremely generous. The tame ducks were awesome. It was a little aged but that is all I could say negative.
We had troubled getting maid service and she didn't leave toilet paper but other than that it was a nice place to stay. The walking up and down the steps to get to the room.
Extremely kind clerk. Hotel was old and not clean, stains on comforters and holes. Price was high for room. Jg
Nice room reasonable price good location. Nothing
Loved the river and park behind the motel Rooms smelled of smoke even though it was non smoking. Room service was a little lax
I like the helpfulness of the clerk. I liked the location of the hotel with regards to its proximity to Pigeon Forge attractions. I like the discounts for Pigeon Forge Attractions that come with the booking of the room I loved the price. The rooms were very nice. Particularly, the ceramic tile flooring. I like the 2nd story balcony This will be the hotel spot for myself and my family for every time that I come to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. I really did enjoy the location and the hospitality of the clerk. I asked for two wake up calls. One for 9:30am Saturday morning and another for the same time on Sunday morning. Neither time did anyone call me. I asked the housekeepers for towels and they never brought me any. However, this isn't a big deal to me. I still enjoyed the stay and it will be my choice of stay when I come back to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg
The food choices were excellent. Th shows were funny and entertaining. Some very good talent. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. Our room was clean. The staff was nice and very helpful. Traffic was very heavy. There are alternative routes.
They waited for us to check in before they closed the front desk. Low to no staff, dirty overall, very outdated, the pool was closed due to costruction, the whole facility was under construction. My wife and I pulled up and jusy said " oh no" it was midnight we were tired and we were going to have to go in.
Loved the hot tub. Room was bright and for the most part clean. Room was evidently cleaned very fast. Beds were sloppy. found a childs sock under the front of the bed skirt. But everything else was ok.
My family didn't like anything about this hotel The hotel was NASTY we walked into the office and there was roaches all over the floor. We thought we would give them a chance and went to the rooms. The beds had blood in the creases of the bed along with bugs. We immediately went to the lady in the office and she called us a liar so we asked for our money back (we booked three rooms for five days) she refused to give us our full refund and charged us for one night per room and was really rude about it. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone.
We were really excited to be traveling for the weekend just to get away. The pictures online make the motel look very nice. Once we arrived, we noticed that there was only ONE pool open, although online it seems there are TWO functioning pools. Of course the one that was open was absolutely packed! When we finally made our way to our room, it wasnt too bad; I have stayed in worse, but you could tell it had hardly been actually cleaned in some time now. As far as the price though, guess we just got what we paid for. I personally will probably spend a little bit more money and stay somewhere else next visit!
The room was large with two king comfortable beds and jacuzzi in room. I loved the bacony to watch the tubers and the geese in the river. Great location too and very quiet. My pet dog loved it too. The windows were large to view outside activity. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Enjoyed our stay plan on returning here one day. The only thing i didn't like was the elevator smelled of urine r cholrine couldn't decide. Carpets need to go just plain floor would work.
Room was clean and very spacious. In-room whirlpool tub was relaxing. Staff was very pleasant to deal with. Balcony was covered with spider webs. Fireplace in the room didn't work. There was an issue with the elevator as we left out so we resorted to walking down then climbing 5 flights of stairs.
The river view , jacuzzi tub, and fireplace The bottom outside of the toilet wasn't clean and the balcony outside was full of spiders at night. Other than that it was very peaceful
The Jacuzzi tub Everything was poorly maintained. The door to outside patio didn't latch.
The outdoor pool is shut down and green . Looks like a frog pond!!! The hotel is pet friendly and we had a dog turd on our balcony upon check in and one in the carpet right by the dining table!
The rooms was great i took my fińace and my brotherand his girlfriend down for the weekend had no problenms The indoor pool is to small and the outside pool wasn't open small trade though for good rooms
I didnt pay what the rooms actully go for thank goodness. We read on line it had breakfast, it doesnt and when asked the staff were rude. They advertise 2 pools, there is only one and it is small.
The location is the best you can find for all the attractions! The wifi wasn't that great.
The staff was very friendly, the rooms were great and the location was great also.
The fron desk staff were nice. Chemical smell was so bad that We had to change rooms. I have been sick since being in the room. Neither room was even close to clean. We went to another motel and stayed the next night. Breakfast was not good. The staff were nice and that is about all that place has going for it.
I like the convenience of everything near by. I didn't like, that a i wasn't able to have internet in the room.
I liked that the room was ready earlier than stated. It was quiet during the night and we slept well. I was surprised that they were full to capacity most of our days but still very quiet. For the money, I will book here again. No problems at all. The only thing that we experienced was the free wi-fi was not good. We only got a signal one night. That is usually not a problem but still had some work-related business to check on during the week and could not get a connection.
Thebed was comfortable. The room was clean. I was not a fan of the breakfast. The eggs were not real eggs. Yuck! There was apparently a squirrel somewhere in the ceiling. I got quite a scare when I heard it squeaking.
Location was great have stayed here 2 other times and was great then. Checked in went to room and it hadn't even been cleaned. Then the next day they took all the towels and they never cleaned the room that day nor brought back any towels had to go and get our on towels.
Every one at the front desk was nice and polite After reading some of the reviews thought it was going to be a bad place, ask the front desk if we could see the rooms before we checked in. They gave us the room keys and allowed us to check the rooms out, everything was in good shape.
My husband and I walked to the island and even several shopping centers. It is very centrally located to lots of fun things to do. Perfect for pushing our son in his stroller instead of taking the time to pack him up into the truck. Pool was very nice but needs more shade for little ones. Only two small umbrellas were available. The place was an older hotel but you can tell they were doing updates to it. There were several flat screen tv boxes in the dumpster that was close to our room so you could tell they were in the process of doing some updates.
Loved the location, price, free breakfast, and the rooms. Wifi didn't work half the time. Chain broke on door.
Location Bugs in room, duct tape in shower, wash cloths plugging holes in ceiling tiles, staff not friendly or efficient, ice maker not working, no parking due to concert being held in parking lot.
I didn't like anything about it Check in is at 3pm, we arrived at 8pm and had to wait till 11:30pm to get room because they weren't clean yet, door key wouldn't work 2nd night so my family was waiting outside in the cold whil they fiddled around making a new key, Toilet wouldn't flush, surroundings very noisy including the tenants and maids, breakfast was completely horrific.
Nothing This was the absolute worst place I have ever stayed at. Bed sheets were stained, mattress was stained. Gross. Room was very musty. No hot water Sat night and was told that there was nothing they could do. They didn't care and the owner was oversees. The maids were fighting and one quit on Sat. Impossible to get towels, not sure why they even came in the room. Carpet is so stained an nasty. I didn't even get to let my 1 year old play with toys on the floor. Had to keep her on the bed. You know how hard that is. I know it is winter months but the pool was green and I could tell it hadn't been maintained in a long while. In our room there was a block of wood attached to the door for the lock. If I were you I sure would NOT list this business on my site.
Close to attractions Dirty room, ac did not work
We didn't want to sleep in the beds because the room was extremely dirty. The building was literally falling apart. Spend a little more money & stay somewhere else.
Location They first said I didn't have a reservation even though I was showing him my print off. After he finally decided to give us a room, the room smelled like mold and the bathroom faucet know was on the side of the tub. Went to desk and got another room. This one wasn't much better. Room was extremely stinky. Bathroom didn't look clean. Towels and sheets were dingy and stained. Then my husband pulled back covers and there was a bug in the bed. And elevator has over an inch of standing water in it. Needless to say we left and stayed somewhere else.
Location I booked a 2 queen bed room and they put me in a single bed my son is 17 and had to sleep on the floor. I Tried to show the lady my receipt but she said I booked a single. Which was a lie. Never again would I stay there and would never suggest anyone stay there.
The room was clean. There was a metal stripping hanging half off the door so we could see daylight under the door. The pool was in need of repair it wasn't well taken care off. The hot tub was broken with nasty stagnant water sitting in it. There was no ice bucket, they gave cups with no plastic over them. It reminded me more of an apartment building instead of an hotel. There were more people who lived in the hotel than there were was guest. The ones who lived there had their clothes hanging all over the balcony their bikes chained to the railing. It was a mess. Worst hotel we've ever stayed in. We won't ever be back that's for sure.
Room was very nice for the money. Wi Fi is basically non existent.
We asked for a wake-up call on Tuesday for 6.30 am cause we had a family reunion in North Carolina and we didn't get So we missed it That's the only thing that made me me Cause the guy at night said we would get it My family was upset
The staff was really nice. However, The sheets were stained. Our Shower leaked out into the floor and made a huge mess. The people beside us had 3 really Large dogs that barked. There was no comforter on the bed. Not much parking. 3 very small pillows. Trashy and slummy people hanging around outside. Made me uncomfortable to go outside after dark. The carpet in the rooms were disgusting.
Very easy to get in and out of and close to the Dixie stampede and Krispy Kreme as they are the two places we ALWAYS go to!! They only give two pillows per bed and they flatten out as soon as you lay down.
Very friendly staff. Comfortable beds.
The Staff was excellent and very enjoyable.
very nice hotel but wear wifi fair
We liked the short distance to our attraction, the Dixie Stampede. We were excited to let our son experience a Jacuzzi tub, but we were horribly disappointed when we found that our room, which would accept 4 adults. There was NOT a private Jacuzzi tub. We were told to get our own condiments. When we went to the main office, the coffee & condiments were piled in my hands. There was a mean parrot in the lobby, not in its cage.Fringe dirty with lots of rust.Everything smelled like cigarettes.Would not refund$.
I loved the location and the price. The price for the weekend was fantastic. The rooms are a little on the small side, but the low price more than enough makes up for it. The only think I didn't like was the noise. It isn't the hotel's fault, but it was a noisy night. My only complaint though!
Very easy and smooth check in. Someone's used soap was still in the shower, a couple of what seemed to be pee stains on the toilet, and the shower curtain had mildewed. Also the housekeeping came around at 8 am checking to see if anyone had left even though checkout wasn't until 11. After her telling her we were still sleeping she came back an hr later. Tv remote also didn't work and the tv is mounted so to change it you had to climb on the table.
Not pleased Couples stopped us in parking lot saying bugs on floor and beds
I like the location and the fact that I had a private balcony that over looked the creek..my kids loved standing on the balcony and watching the geese.. The room could've been cleaner..the next morning I went to take a shower and when I got done and picked the towel up and unfolded it to dry off there was a wad of hair in it! I picked up another towel and unfolded it and it had pubic hair in it!! So there I stood with no towel and my husband and 3 kids waiting to take a shower..we couldn't get anymore towels because they only allow 4 towels,4 wash cloths and 4 hand towels..the bad part is I really have this thing about hair and it being someone else's made it 100 times worse!! Good thing we were going straight home that morning because no one other than me got to shower!
The location on the strip was convenient We had the AC running since we walked in the door (3pm) until we got back that night (10pm) and it was still very hot in the room. We didn't sleep very much because of how hot it was. The staff are very nice but the language barrier is a bit rough. The tv remote did not have batteries and they wouldn't bring us any. Cell service is unheard of also.
My daughter had a field trip in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area, and this was one of the lowest priced hotels that had decent reviews. We checked in on Friday evening and our cards didn't work. The desk clerk was very helpful, came up and let us in the room and remade the cards for us. The room was clean and warm, it had good water pressure in the shower. It was 40 bucks - I wasn't expecting luxury, just a place to sleep and shower. The freezer part of the min-fridge was very dirty and the only reason I'm even noting it is because we had to store some medicine in the fridge and I had to refreeze ice packs. In addition, the remote didn't work to change the volume on the TV - we only watched TV for about 20 minutes before going to sleep, so it wasn't a huge deal. Otherwise, I don't have any complaints about it, and the only really negative thing of note was that when we came back from dinner on Friday night, there were police officers there for another room and it scared my 10-year-old daughter, although that's not anything that the River Place Inn could have helped.
geese were cute . Motel was easy to find on main strip. hairdryer didn't work. desk chair had huge coffee stain. Motel has limited parking if they had been close to full we would not have had a parking space. I don't know where we would have had to park.
The bed was very comfortable, contrary to a previous review, from someone before. The room also had a coffee maker in the room, contrary to another negative review. The motel may have updated the beds & added coffee makers since those reviews. The motel staff was able to relocate me to the 1st floor, since I'm disabled & use a motorized wheel chair. I need the use of an elevator or placed on the 1st floor. No elevators. I'm disabled & cannot climb stairs. I also use a motorized wheel chair. Without elevators, I need to stay on the 1st. floor. This negative review is for booking.com. The booking site needs to add specialty needs required for customers, such as needing a handy-cap room. This will prevent me from having to check with the hotel at time of booking or arriving.
Excellent location along Pigeon Forge Parkway. We were housed in the building located away from the Parkway and with access to a small porch with table and two chairs facing the small yard and the river running behind the property. (Rooms on second floor had balconies facing the river.) No road noise. No noise from nearly rooms (Motel seemed to have few occupants the days we were there.) Only "disruptive" noise came from loudly quacking ducks that patrol the parking lot and the yard behind the building. They quack at night as well as during the day. There are a variety of restaurants within a 20-minute walk from the hotel (also easily accessed by car) as well as an abundance of souvenir shops and such attractions as mini-golf and go-karting venues. Room was spacious: two queen beds, a desk, a movable table. Room had plenty of light (Many hotels where we stay seem to have too few lights.) with an overhead light in the open area near the door, a floor lamp near the easy chair, a desk lamp, bed lamps, and sink and bathroom lights. Microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer were all provided. Beds were quite comfortable Bathroom fan worked well but was quite noisy. Housekeeping service was spotty. We could not be sure to have beds made, waste cans emptied, and towels/soap refreshed as a matter of course each day. Management was apologetic about the housekeeping and sought to make right each thing about which we commented. Except for the spotty housekeeping, we had no complaints about the place and would be likely to stay here again when we return to Pigeon Forge.
For the money it was great. All creature comforts were taken care off. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was good. The overall stay was a good
The motel is in a great location. It also offers a river view filled with geese. Room was still kind of dirty. Refrigerator didn't work. Blood stains on the pillows. Hair dryer didn't work and faucet water smelled as if it came straight from the river.
