Pros: I'm a Big Fan of the Hampton Inn chain..This hotel did not disappoint me...as a matter a fact is was one of the nicer ones. 5 stars all around
6.0 Good
Pros: Location of where I was visiting
Cons: Had TV issues. The front desk told me to unplug and plug back in but my station was fading in and out constantly. Could not watch my program
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, convenient location. Quiet. Nice pool and hot tub.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location in a shopping village. The staff were very friendly. The amenities were more than we expected. The breakfast was much more than just cereal and oatmeal and bagels.
Cons: The only thing that was disappointing was that the pillows were flat and uncomfortable, which made it difficult to sleep.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice facility, friendly staff.
Cons: Danger. The tile on the bathroom floor was very slippery to one exiting from the shower/bathtube. No floor mats. Real slip-&-fall threat. Also, because of the nearby annual Newport Jazz Festival they doubled the price. I hate being gouged like that.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great friendly staff
Cons: Hot tub was closed for maintenance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the bedding and the best breakfast ever!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool and fitness room are excellent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They put extras in the room. Like lots of towles and extra coffee and cups. Plus the staff was very helpful and friendly.
Cons: We were six hours late because of flight delays for check in on a 4 day garunteed nonrefundable reservation and they cancelled our reservation! Fortunately they were able to redo it. I am not sure yet what that will do to our bill. If we have to pay twice we’ll be really upset.

Cons: having to leave lol

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great customer service
6.8 Good
Pros: The location was great, and the staff was very friendly. Good list of amenities...when available. Awesome unexpected discount for “going green” by skipping out on daily room cleanings. Plenty of on street parking, so skip out on their valet services!
Cons: Paper thin walls to the point you could hear conversations in other rooms. Beware of party functions on the main level! First night there there was a Christmas party. When I asked the front desk what time it ended (we were on the 3rd floor and could hear the music so loud it was like a concert) they stated it ended at 10. I gave up on a quite night by 10:30. The bed in the room was a full when the website stated it should have been a queen. Had to pay the full amount in “resort fees” even though some of the amenities applicable to our stay (Friday-Sunday) were unavailable/cancelled. Lastly, keep in mind there’s no fridge in the room which stunk to find out coming back with leftovers. My fault for not realizing that while reading what was included with the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service!!! The building was beautiful. Very clean. Valet was spot on!!!
Cons: The jacuzzi was out of service
7.0 Good
Pros: All staff I interacted with was friendly, professional and attentive. Rooms were nice, minimal noise. Good location within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Nice feel and design of lobby spaces.
Cons: We went to the Spa Fjor and felt the cleanliness was not up to standard. The ladies area had visible mold on the walls and steam room. The spa waiting area had trash on the floor and the carpet looked worn. The jacuzzi wasn’t available to use as promised. Gratuity was automatically added which seems presumptuous.
4.8 Okay
Pros: The location is excellent and the exterior of the building is beautiful
Cons: We were housed outside of the main hotel in a wing built in the 1980s that smelled like old fast food. The pool was not working, the hot tub had earwigs floating in it. The carpeting in the pool area smelled terrible. The ice machine was covered in dust and grime. This wing of the hotel needs a deep cleaning
7.0 Good
Pros: Location and the history of the hotel is amazing.
Cons: The standard room is extremely small. And the bathroom door was pretty much see through frosted glass with sections that were completely see through. You could easily see somebody on the toilet. I had to hang my scarf over the door for privacy.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved this hotel. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The super friendly valets were the first ones to greet and the last ones to say farewell, and they treated this mother in a mini van like a millionaire in a Mercedes. Our room was beautiful and cozy. The beds were super comfy, and the refrigerator was housed in a beautiful piece of furniture that made a lovely focal point of the room . The location of this hotel is amazing and very close to the beautiful mansions and lots of other Newport fun. I wanted to stay longer , but alas , I had to go home!! Thanks for a fabulous time !!
Cons: There was construction going on which we were not told about until we can came upon it, but it was all good and did not turn out to be a problem. The workers were very friendly and hospitable and respectful . It was quiet, and I appreciated the fact that the hotel was fixing things up, even though I thought it was already quite lovely.
7.0 Good
Pros: Comfortable beds, good towels. The valet (Philip) was excellent and the bartender (Troy) was very pleasant.
Cons: We missed having a coffee maker in room and did not like the split bathroom setup.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very classy with a great location in Newport
Cons: food service closes at 9:00pm on a Saturday night when they had a full Bar and the NCAA tourney on
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff and location were great
Cons: The room was tiny and it had a seafood smell to it as if someone just ate in there right before we arrived. We also were not aware that the front lobby was under construction, it made getting to the room an inconvenience as we had to walk up stairs
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so nice and helpful. Great location and very clean. Next trip to Newport we will be staying there again.

Pros: This perfectly located waterfront hotel exceed my expectations as a first time guest. I was pleasantly greeted and also upgraded which was a delightful beginning to my overnight stay. Great location, beautiful views, wonderful breakfast buffet!I'll return!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived early around 12pm and the receptionist at the front desk accommodated us. We let her know that we booked a 2 queen bed room and we preferred to have a king size bed. The room we ended up getting (109) was awesome! It had a Harborview where you could walk right out of your room and to the harbor. There was even 2 adirondack chairs and a little table so you could hang outside and enjoy the view. Also at night they have a fire pit with a bunch of chair around it a few rooms down from where we were. The hotel has a warmed indoor pool that is open 24 hours. It a decent size pool and you have plenty of room to swim. Overall, this hotel was great. The staff, the room size, the pool, the view, and the location.
Cons: Everything was perfect.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very clean and staff was great.
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel had a great location and the staff was very nice.
Cons: Walls of bathroom shower had a design that made them look like dirt was all over the walls. Had to get up close to see it was the design so it looked dirty. The wifi would cut out all the time. Lots of kids being loud but staff very accommodating.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and the pool was wonderful.
Cons: The sauna didn't function well and you could hear a lot of noise in the hallway when in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to everything was great and they let us check in early
Cons: Liked it all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, near tons of great restaurants, all within walking distance. Nice view of the harbor. Room was large, clean, quiet, and comfortable.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendliness and that it had an indoor pool.
Cons: Under the circumstances the heater was not working to full capacity while we were there in the pool area, but still made the best of it. No real complaints
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic! Greeted by the front desk with a hot toddy on a cold winter’s evening. Parking included, on the water.
Cons: The noise from hotel guests, ear plugs helped drain the noise.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good food at the lounge. Friendly staff!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Resort staff was excellent! My wife and I went to the resort the last weekend of the winter festival. It was quite busy and many of the activities were booked. The staff went out of there way to assist with helping me book reservations at restaurants and the local attractions. I would most definitely go back and recommend the resort to friends.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: loved the whole 24 hr experience. it was short, but amazing. we will be back next year. Highly recommended
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful interiors...lots to do...loved the ice skating and igloos....
Cons: Prices at the restaurant were very high...would have been nice to have a moderately priced option for breakfast and lunch.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff and location were amazing. Upon check in, they gave our daughter a little stuffed whale and she was in love! They also upgraded our room to a water view which was awesome. The on site restaurant, Scarpetta had delicious food and wonderful service.
Cons: Love this place, but I think it could use a bit more renovation. It looks like an old hotel going through a transformation, and I’m sure it is. It just needs a little bit more work to get there, and the. It will be fabulous!
4.0 Okay
Pros: I enjoyed the ice rink and the food at Scarpetta was delicious.
Cons: To start, it took about an hour after the check-in time of 4 pm to get our room, as it "wasn't ready yet". The facilities were somewhat rundown and very basic- I was expecting a much more luxurious experience, but the room was comparable to a Best Western. Also, the staff was very unresponsive- I called the front desk, concierge, and housekeeping no less than 5 times over the weekend from my room and not a single person picked up. Housekeeping came one day at nearly 5 pm, while we were in the room, and so we asked at the counter for housekeeping to tend to our room that evening, and we were assured they would by the man at the front desk, who took down our details. Needless to say, when we came back to the room 4 hours later the room had not been tended to. So we had zero housekeeping throughout our stay, and the front desk didn't seem to care much about the frustration this had caused. Additionally, we had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time to get our table at Scarpetta (once we were in the experience was wonderful, but frustrating that we had to wait so long for a reservation, which interfered with our other plans). In addition, I got no response to the email I had sent days prior about renting an igloo. Overall, this place does not provide anywhere near the value it should given the price point, and the staff did not seem to prioritize customer experience even one bit, and had an attitude when we expressed our dissatisfaction. I understand I stayed during a busy weekend, but as a supposedly well-run hotel, I was expecting the level of service to remain acceptable, which was absolutely not the case. I will not be returning to this hotel on future trips to Newport.

Cons: The gal who checked me in tried to say she did not have my reservation for $221. Later came to my room and said they found it. She was a real twitt. Told me the shuttle could not take me to the Breakers. Shuttle took me without a problem.
7.0 Good
Pros: food was excellent; wait staff excellent; check in and out perfect; always someone at front desk to help; no charges that we weren't expected is a plus - I asked for top floor and 1 hour earlier check in online and we received what we asked - great location close to beach;/cliff walk / mansions

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and gorgeous hotel. Great lawn and view of bay!
Cons: Housekeeping staff on 2nd floor again propped open fire door on stairwell so hall got hot/muggy since ground level door also propped open. KEEP FIRE doors CLOSED. Front desk said Mgr still not available but did listen when I said 'MY REVIEW'...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Near Newport with sleek European designed rooms. No free coffee in lobby but good coffee provided in room.
Cons: Two days in row female housekeeping supervisor in her 2nd floor office propped open FIRE stairwell door for 2+ hours as I used guest washer/dryer on ground level. I reminded her FIRE doors are to be CLOSED.She said ok.Front desk didn't care/do anything

3.4 Mediocre
Pros: very close to downtown New Port ... that's it

7.7 Good
Pros: Cheap, clean and 7min drive from center Newport.
Cons: It was clean but smelled like Clorox
4.5 Okay
Cons: We paid for a shuttle and couldn't even get one the first day we were there. Second day we waited in the lounge for the shuttle and the girls at the front desk forgot to tell us when they came so we missed that one too. Front desk help was awful.
3.1 Mediocre
Cons: The place is run down and looks more like a motel. We had booked two nights, but after seeing the place, we cancelled the next night and booked it in Holiday Inn express in Middletown (which looked lot better and was only $15 more per room). It also mentions unlimited transportation, however even though we had two queen beds in a room (4 people), they only gave free transportation to two people. Definitely not worth the stay.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Location to Newport.
Cons: Layout of the rooms, no complimentary breakfast, no airport shuttle, confusing building plan, one slow elevator.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The room was really nice, love the wood floors. Bathroom very clean. Room was comfortable and we'll appointed.
Cons: I like that the sink area as separate from the toilet and shower. Also, I appreciate that the whole bathroom area was behind a wall separate from the bedroom.
3.7 Mediocre
Cons: Room stunk of smoke, lights didn't work, no hot water for first 24hrs

Pros: Great shower. Comfortable beds, clean. Great steak restaurant attached, get there early as they are busy every night.

7.9 Good
Pros: Location View Comfort Heated bathroom lights Near to decent/affordable restaurants Wearing the robe while there The coffee in lobby was very good Low price thru booking.com (daily special)
Cons: The outside Jacuzzi & fire pit amenity as advertised were not in service so that was a little disappointing. Also, it seemed unusual for a hotel not to offer a continental breakfast. Pool unexpectedly small with no lounge/comfy furniture to sit poolside.
7.5 Good
Pros: the roof top hot tub and convenient bath robes
Cons: how much dust/dirt was in our hotel room and the amount of noise at all hours of the night our room was vibrating so much it felt like an earth quake

Cons: Room wasn't super clean, a few things were broken in the room, loud heater.
6.0 Good
Cons: Room to super small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely nice and very helpful when we needed it. We are definitely going to visit here again just because of our experience with the staff. The hotel was not over crowded at all because it was the end of summer. We debate next time to go when the season is hopping or go when it’s the end of summer and the city is quiet.
Cons: We were not able to try the restaurant because they closed it for the summer.
5.6 Okay
Cons: The location is very poor. Suggest you try somewhere downtown within walking distance of the centre

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel. Great location.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Bedding very comfortable, nice pillows, and a clean room.
Cons: Broken Toilet, when we called downstairs to let them know, got the impression they already knew there was an issue. They did send someone right away, but wish it was taken care of before getting to our room. That night after returning from dinner 9 p.m. the guest in the next room BANGED AND SHOUTED for us to be quiet - we were laughing - no TV on no music on just enjoying our view and relaxing - did NOT feel comfortable at this persons Anger! We were able to change rooms but at the front desk did get a little push back on - if they could get us a room with a view...I told them we were not loud and that HE was the problem she then stated ours was the second complaint from him - regarding a different guest...and she said how they had plans in the work to fix the soundproofing issues with the whole complex. Following night after dinner we returned and decided to go to the bar for a nightcap we got a high top table but went over to the bartender to place our drink order she seemed put out definitely not pleasant.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The location and harbor view
Cons: Staff not as friendly. Particularly the woman who checked us in. Table in bar was very dirty
5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff always a smile on everyone's face.
Cons: We love the Marriott, we go every year. Staff was great. Unfortunately the food was the worst we've had. The breakfast buffet was old..fruit was soggy. I did have an omelet the ingredients didn't have a flavor of freshness. Disappointed overall. It's an expensive weekend we look forward to enjoying away we have no problem spending money if it's worth it. The usual breakfast is delicious and fresh we have multiple plates this time we barely ate and left.
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel lobby was beautiful! The concierge was so helpful and sweet. We enjoyed having money to spend on food as part of the daily resort fees. The location was decent, we walked to the wharf, the local parks, shopping, dining, a kids arcade.
Cons: The room window faced elevators. Having no natural light was very disorienting. There is no ceiling light. We had to turn on 6 different lights all over the room and it still seemed dim. The room lacked a bath tub for my infant. Housekeeping inconsistent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was so CLEAN which for me makes all the difference in the world. We love the inside balcony and enjoy watching the activity below. We were very impressed that you cannot hear anything in the rooms on either side. The room and bed is comfortable and very pleasant!!!!!
7.1 Good
Cons: They charged for Valet when I didn't use Valet.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location right downtown was fantastic, great to walk to many restaurants. The decor is modern and fresh, the beds were very comfortable, food in the restaurants was good, really liked the pool and gym. The kids really enjoyed the stay.
Cons: I didn’t like the added resort fees.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was great but the people running it are superb. People were cheerful From valet to front desk and staff at the breakfast area. It made our stay really fun. The gym was great and the sauna was just perfect.
Cons: A bigger whirlpool maybe.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Clean hotel, nice gym and good location.
Cons: Our room was not available till 5:45pm. We ended up getting into the room around 7:30pm after dinner. We paid for a harbor view room to enjoy the afternoon and sunset from the room. That turned out to be a waste of money. Worst was not being given a timeline, they were shooting for a little past 4pm so we just waited at the hotel before leaving for dinner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was absolutely wonderful
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was ample and great selections; clean hotel, great staff and convenient location.

Pros: Both the main room and bathroom were very spacious, especially for a room in this price range. Nicely appointed. Big windows. Nice cozy sitting area with view of ocean, a dining room table, as well as a spacious sleeping area.
Cons: The continental breakfast had all the usual things, multiple juices, hot drinks, pastries, breads and muffins, waffle maker, fruits, cereals. I am a scrambled eggs gal, and they were average.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: great location at a fair price. always clean.
Cons: Bar next door can be loud. don't get a room on that side.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Across the street from ocean, 2nd Beach was a short drive. we use Lyft to go into town and walked back home. About a 1.5 miles from town.
Cons: The beds were 2 full beds (or smaller), instead of Queen beds. There was 4 adults. It is was a comedy show. Also the floor is Laminate instead of carpet due to sand. I had to wipe my feet off with a towel before getting into bed
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was great
Cons: Cleaning staff was slow. Elevators were slow and check in was a little clunky
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was close to the things we were there for

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location
Cons: Had to walk outside to get to main building with the pool
6.3 Good
Pros: The room was clean and the location was nice.
Cons: It was very loud. There is no soundproofing. You could hear the elevator running all night, the cleaning people starting at 7am on a Sunday morning, and every word said in the hallway. It was very disappointing.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is great
Cons: No breakfast or coffee, housekeeping woke us up by trying to get in the room at 830am. Once they realized the door had the latch on they tried the door several more times.
5.7 Okay
Pros: The location, very close to downtown Newport and second beach.
Cons: The smell in the lobby on the first night was terrible.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic, and I stay here often. Although the hotel itself is a bit run down, the rooms are always clean and comfortable. The staff is always friendly and helpful. With the exception of the high season, the rate is fair and reflects the overall quality. I frequent this hotel in the off season as it is a quiet place near the beach to relax and get work done.
Cons: Their breakfast leaves a lot to be desired... everything is loaded with sugar. And on slow days there isn’t anything hot. But if you aren’t picky, its not bad.

Pros: Location
Cons: EVERYTHING
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Highly recommend this property. The location is a few miles from the center of Newport. O
1.0 Poor
Pros: I liked the fish tank in the lobby.. that was about it.
Cons: Staff was very rude. My boyfriend called and asked if we could get a few more pillows. A man ended up bringing towels to our door. We said that was incorrect. Then the front desk called us and started ARGUING with my boyfriend saying he asked for towels..
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location to Newport RI
Cons: The hotel seemed a bit worn out for the price charged. A smell of cigarettes and mold were present. Guests were smoking pot and that stunk. The shower handle came off in my hand when I went to turn on the shower water. The Breakfast could be improved.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The hotel was pretty clean. Staff was pleasant.
Cons: Disappointing. It was listed as a superior room, but was small, king bed took up most of the room. Mattress tilted up when you sat on the end of the bed. There was a front porch which had a Jacuzzi tub in it. Tub was loud, air conditioner was very loud
7.0 Good
Cons: Paying for washing machine and the internet was slow. It is to be expected for both though, so I'm not complaining.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: location
Cons: not really
1.0 Poor
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: Yes! There was hair in my shower, on top of the toilet and a few pieces in the sheets and on the bed. It was like either housekeeping did a horrible job or didn't clean at all. The floors smelled musty and were not vacuumed neither was the main lobby!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Im in love with This hotel
5.0 Okay
Pros: Decent breakfast buffet, nice fitness center,
Cons: Common areas, hallways, not very clean. Needed vacuuming in many areas day of our stay including parts of room. One headboard was Dusty as were few other areas in room- so in summary was not a very clean place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gentleman working front desk was very accommodating to us.....greatly appreciated!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was decent.....the point is the Jacuzzi anyways right? My sexy honey bleached it 2 times with our own products used q tips and soaked it for 15 min lol......So if u get the NON smoking room right next to the front door for 100$ the jacuzzi is smashing darlings
Cons: paying high prices you should get a choice whether you can smoke or not for a different price or whatever..... when u pay full price for a room you shouldn't have to be next to the office...Kids running up n down you could try adjusting the rooms accordingly

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staff is always really accommodating here. Before I checked into the hotel I had gone out to dinner and purchased a couple of quarts of clam chowder to bring home with me. When I got back to the room I realized it did not fit in the mini fridge. I went to the front desk and the reservationists was more then happy to mark my bag and put it in the kitchen freezer for me. Also, the staff has always been really nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super nice staff. Clean. Comfortable beds. Good toiletry kit in bathroom. Good breakfast buffet, included with price of room, with nice comfortable seating area.
Cons: Wasn't the largest selection for breakfast - no donuts! - but great for the price of the room. And they did have make your own waffles! Coffee station also good.
7.0 Good
Cons: Pillows are horrible and cheap
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The free breakfast
Cons: Limited parking
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. The staff was very helpful. There was a small error with the booking that was mostly my fault. Staff (Cody) fixed it. Cookies were good. Breakfast was solid.
Cons: The fitness room is clean and the equipment works. I just wish it were a tad more spacious.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great including healthy eggs as well as waffles. The smoothies were particularly good. There was variety with some different items each of the two mornings we were visiting. Although I didn't need it, they offered non-dairy milk and information about product contents.
Cons: The photos on the website made the pool look larger than it really was. It would have been nice to have a clock in the pool area.

Pros: All brand new rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool was heated, the breakfast was nice, the warm cookies at check in were also an added perk. The room was also newly renovated and clean. There was also plenty of storage to store your luggage, coats, shoes etc away.
Cons: One minor complaint, the hotel was under going renovations and we couldn’t access the pool without walking outside and entering through a different door. It wouldn’t of been a problem if it wasn’t 10 degrees.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicer than a 2-star. Very pleased. Big clean rooms.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very polite and followed up with a phone call to see if we were OK with our room.

Pros: I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. I had very low expectations, but it was the start of labor day weekend and everything else was either sold out or extremely expensive, so we gambled. I am so happy we did! It was a great stay!
Cons: Our room smelled a little musty, that's really my only minor complaint!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed in many hotels and cottages through the years with our state to state family vacation traveling. But this is by far one of the best cottages we have ever stayed at for the price. We decided to travel to Rhode Island for a small vacation last minute and the prices for hotels and cottages varied greatly. East Island Reserve was affordable, listed as exceptionally clean, and near all the attractions we wished to visit. This cottage looked amazing from the internet but I was /still/ surprised by many things when I arrived. I'm going to tell the readers now, leave everything at home because there is nothing you will need. Small appliances, various cutlery, full arrangements of dishes, pots, pans, down to the dishwasher soap pods. That's not all. When I went upstairs, I thought we had 2 clothing closets. I opened up the first closet and was amazed to find a brand new Samsung stacking washer and dryer with detergent. This was the first time we didn't have to lug our dirty clothes home because we were able to wash them effortlessly and quietly on the day of our departure. Another favorite surprise was the bathroom floor was heated. We truly were left with everything we needed and then some. We had plenty of blankets, pillows, and toiletry items. Our bed was comfortable and we slept great. The internet ratings were true to what we had read, as we did receive an exceptionally cottage. We look forward to visiting again in the summer. Thank you for a great, comfortable, and stress free stay!

Cons: Thin thin walls! Keyless locks are tricky!

Pros: The location and prices were great
Cons: Was expecting a welcome back seeing it was our second time there in a few months apart
7.0 Good
Pros: I was surprised to learn there was a buffet breakfast . Although the cooked food looked a little questionable, there was plenty of choice for cereals and juices and yogurt. Our room was very clean and very nice size.
Cons: The entire time of the trip, the lobby area smell like marijuana. Soon as you got in the hallway smelled it. Somebody was definitely smoking it the entire time. However you didn't smell it in the room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy check in, good location for price
Cons: No
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was ok and FREE. The location was perfect, only a few miles from the Newport Mansions. The price was awesome for the room. The staff was great and very helpful. The hotel needs some care but for the price I paid, I will be back.
Cons: Hotel needs some TLC but for the price, who cares!
1.0 Poor
Pros: Hotel Hell Stay Away!!!!!!!
Cons: Hotel Hell Stay Away!!!!!
5.0 Okay
Pros: Ridiculous. Staff had mask on. Said breakfast was all messed up. Put cereal out but no milk. Apples were months old. That was it. No decaf coffee. I went three times to desk just to find spoon, milk and bowl. He came out touched everything to make it look organized and said dumb virus. Pathetic.
6.0 Good
Pros: I will say the staff was excellent when I called to ask that the people next door turn down their music at 1am the next night since our bed was shaking. He came right up and told them he had received multiple calls.
Cons: We were surprised the hotel had no elevator and we had to shlep our stuff up to the third floor. As someone who wears knee braces, it wasn't good. The staff informed us the hotel was booked to capacity and no other rooms were available. The hardwood floors look great. Unfortunately, they do nothing to quiet the noise from the hallways and other rooms. The walls are paper thin and we really enjoyed listening to the couple next door arguing at 2 in the morning and the guy downstairs screaming into his phone at 4am. The beds were very comfortable; I only wish we could have actually gotten to sleep in them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location to Newport was great. The staff was very courteous.
Cons: Carpeting would have been nicer but it was ok with a wooden floor.
8.0 Excellent

Pros: Front desk staff were accommodating and helpful- the Mann who helped us check in gave us a list of recos of restaurants around the area; but if you choose not to drive, there’s a Chilli’s right outside. Breakfast was good, had a “DIY” pancake machine, they had lost of food selections from pastries to cereals to omelettes. Hotel location is not to far from main town. Room was clean- linens and towels smelled good, pillows and bed were comfy, bathroom was clean and had complete toiletries. Room was spacious, had a sofa that could easily fit another grown adult.

Pros: Great location! The bed was very comfortable!
Cons: The freezing water!! We had no hot water Saturday and therefore I looked terrible all day!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotels, friendly & helpful staff, fantastic breakfast included, great location in Newport.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. The room was fantastic and clean. The staff was friendly and really cared about your stay. I cannot remember a better stay and we do a lot of traveling!
Cons: Nothing!
7.1 Good
Pros: It was a very clean and cozy room, I liked that the double room actually meant two separate bedrooms. The bathroom has clearly been redone recently, as opposed to the other dated furniture. It gets stuffy in this building however the air conditioning works wonderfully. Also, I’m assuming this is because it’s an older building but I’ve never seen this before- I particularly enjoyed that there was an additional sink and mirror IN each bedroom!
Cons: The bed really isn’t that comfortable and made me sore in the morning. Also, the price to stay here for two nights was very high for what you’re getting. Of course I understand it was Memorial Day weekend and you can’t beat the location, but $825 seemed like a lot for an old building.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable
Cons: Very thin walls
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming little inn in a great location in Newport within easy walking distance of plenty of restaurants etc. Free, and easy, parking which was great, and they did a wine and cheese reception on some nights. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I was actually staying in the Hydrangea House Inn which is part of the same inn - but meant I was in the same building as the breakfast so I could just walk downstairs, whereas I believe some other rooms are next-door. The breakfast was very good. I stayed 6 nights and they had different options freshly cooked each day.
Cons: Nothing really - the earliest breakfast was at 8:30 which was a little late as I was working, but it wasn't really a major issue for me. This place is really intended for leisure travel rather than business so it's understandable. The room was also a little too warm at times, even though it was sub-freezing outdoors and I had all the heating turned off.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic Room - Highly recommended - meticulously decorated

Pros: Bed was wonderful. I liked the check in greeting
Cons: There was not ‘nightly’ afternoon ‘canapés/drinks. For the price, I think there should’ve been, as well as inconsistent items in room, like waters, turn down, cream for coffee, some of the toiletries
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Primarily the staff. From checking in and out to valets and restaurant staff, everyone was attentive and friendly. The building is beautiful with great sitting rooms, an outdoor patio for meals and an amazing rooftop deck with incredible views of the harbor. Our room was lovely with all the details addressed like robes and slippers, coffee maker and refrigerator, and comfy beds. We loved the location which was a block off the main street so perfect for walking everywhere.
Cons: Nothing was lacking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed at this hotel at least 4 times now. Each stay has been exceptional. the rooms are clean, modern but respectful of their time period. the indoor pool is warm. They could have a few more seats around the pool, but the spa area is clean and welcoming. The service was awesome, loved the phone contact prior to arrival offering assistance with the stay, reservations etc. The food was delicious with great presentation and comfortable dining spaces. the location is perfect, walkable to sights, restaurants, and shopping.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were the friendliest, most obliging and welcoming we have encountered in the US - and the hotel was absolutely charming, food was simply amazing, location perfect and the service impeccable - we stayed an extra night and only wish we had longer. Get a suite if you can and your stay will be perfect! Thanks everyone at the Vanderbilt
Cons: Nothing to not like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was beautiful. The staff was very attentive and courteous. The location PERFECT you literally walked down Mary St and you were in the center of Thames couldn't have asked for a more convenient spot. The views from the roof deck were breath taking.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wow, it was a wonderful stay. My mom and I were there for a late birthday getaway, and the amazing staff made it feel extra special! -Location is in the heart of downtown Newport - Champagne welcome a nice touch -The room was chic and had incredibly high ceilings - The spa pool was heated perfectly - Loved playing snooker in the game room over cocktails (luckily no one else was there because we were terrible and took forever!!) -Food: Can't say much since we mostly ate in town, but lunch was delightful (and all the dining areas are lovely)... The rooftop bar was closed due to weather but I bet it's happening on nice summer days - All staff members encountered from entry to exit were extraordinarily warm, personable and went out of their way to make the stay memorable!
Cons: Not much to dislike Small issue: Minibar area needed a tad more TLC (there was an empty Coke can in the microwave ?!)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, appearance, people, food, drink and pool. Great place.
Cons: Room was smaller than I expected although it could just have been the shape of the room. We went up to the rooftop cocktail bar on our first night but waited 15 minutes to get served without success. Bar staff still managed to serve people who hadn’t been waiting so we assumed they may have been regulars.
7.1 Good
Pros: rooftop bar, Attentive Staff
Cons: Needs a facelift. Elevator slow and dated. Air conditioner poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Newport is known for its mansions and opulence. The Vanderbuilt is a modern version of a big and beautiful home. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. You may very well feel like you are an Astor or Berwind. My favorite part is brunch in the Conservatory. The food is great and the room is just so pretty. Not my first stay and won't be my last.
