The room was very clean and stocked with everything I needed...blow dryer, refrigerator, coffee maker, extra soap and shampoo and plenty of soft, absorbent towels. The location was perfect for me, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The staff was helpful and polite. The internet was fast and free. I would definitely stay here again. There was no way to darken the room. There was only a light transparent curtain so no way to block out the street lights at night. Free breakfast would have been nice...
I loved that this hotel was right off the freeway, access to many restaurants in walking distance, friendly staff, and the rooms were clean. We were also traveling with our dogs and they had a little treat for them on arrival and they had a pet area for them as well. There really wasn't anything we didn't like ... our experience was a positive one.
They had a vacancy, that's it! Elmer's was okay next door. The reception area was disorganized with a door open behind the desk that was full of clutter. The receptionist worked from a scribbled list of rooms and had to ask another what it said on the list about my room ... The couches in the hall entry had large patched holes in them and the windows on the door were filthy. Inside the poorly lit room I found the drawers in the tables next to the bed to be full of hair, gum, food and dirt. I slept on top of the sheets in my clothes because I just didn't trust the area to be clean enough. The refrigerator was dirty on the lower part of the front door and the freezer door inside was broken. The TV picture was blurry on most channels and in a town so close to University of Oregon, they didn't even get the PAC 12 channel! The bed had broken springs and after that I didn't trust the cleanliness enough to partake in their continental breakfast. I ate at Elmer's next door. This was the only room I could get this weekend because so many events were taking place at U of O. Next time I'll stay elsewhere or drive back and forth from Gresham!!
nothing. there is absolutely nothing to like about this property, unless your sole purpose for staying here is saving money everything. there were sketchy people passed out in the hallways. sketchy people just hanging out in the parking lot listening to music and smoking. the hotel employees were more interested in gossiping with each other than helping me. everything looks greasy, grimy, & at least 50 years old. the beds were like slabs of cement
The room had a nice bed and a decent kitchen area. There was black mold that covered about 1/3 of the ceiling over the shower (so I'm not even sure it was legal for them to rent out the room) and there was trash around the nightstand.
Good location and friendly staff. I left something in my room after check-out, they were able to find it and hold it for me to pick-up a few days later when I came back through the area. That was excellent service!
The room was a decent size. The bed was comfortable. Elmer's restaurant is connected. The hallway carpet was very dirty. No elevator. The lobby feels like a warehouse. The bathroom sink was chipped. The room was clean but felt a little shabby.
Good location. Staff was friendly and courteous. Good restaurants nearby. Price was cheap and the neighbors were quiet. The wifi was better than a lot of places, but could still be improved upon. Good tv. The building and room were well worn. They do seem to be working on the place, but it is never going to be a good looking, squeaky clean destination. The toilet in the room flushed automatically every few minutes and the room and the building didn't smell fresh - not really offensive, but it smelled old and well used.
The room was fine--the beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. I thought there'd be a fridge (there wasn't, and I could've used one), but I looked at a bunch of places so maybe I'm thinking of somewhere else. And the location worked out really well for what I needed to do (despite being, in general, a horrible off-ramp hell of every terrible chain restaurant you've ever heard of). The people at the desk don't seem to have any idea what they're doing. While we were checking in, two employees were discussing a recent incident where a guest had checked into a reserved room and found someone else's luggage there. Then they wouldn't give me a print-out that included the amount they charged me--I actually still don't know the cost! Which makes me pretty nervous, given that they have all my credit card info. I'm going to have to keep a close eye on my statement. Also, people were making a LOT of noise in the halls late at night. I don't know if it's fair to blame that on hotel staff, but they don't seem to have made any effort to stop it.
Easy access to both Springfield and Eugene, close to multiple restaurants or if you didn't have energy to go out there's a really good restaurant and a lounge right there. Quite, comfortable rooms. Kept missing the house cleaning staff, so we had to collect clean towels from the office.
The hotel cancelled my reservation after I was already in town and suggested I could get a room in a town over an hour away. Not acceptable!
Nothing Very dirty and smelly. The place is ran by a very seedy manager. I plan on complaining to their corporate about how bad it reflects on the entire chain. I confirmed my reservation when I checked in, then got a call at 11:30 pm saying there was none and was charged the full price. When I talked to the meth head looking manager he told me my email confirmations meant nothing and I should call the booking site. DON'T BOOK HERE.
Decent sized room I guess They double charged me for my three day stay and messed up my bank account. Thank god I used a card thru paypal so it was easily reversed or else I'd have been screwed
Staff was extremely friendly! Bed was clean and comfortable after I realized it was a adjustable bed. Haha. Room was very clean. Close to everything you could need. Wifi worked great. Loved the fact the lock up after 11, and you need Couldn't have asked for a better stay. My only thing I thought was odd was charging 10 for the hot breakfast. The rooms are not cheap so it would've been nice for the breakfast to be included. Just was surprising. Never stayed at a hotel that charged for breakfast before. But definitely not a deal breaker.
If you buy a room on an online site the Valley River Inn takes away all amenities. No breakfast, etc.. Also when the staff see's your online rate their attitude completely changes to the negative. Restaurants food was very poor and very expensive.
This is one of the older luxury hotels that has been wonderfully maintained. Spacious and beautiful with all the amenities you could want. Gracious staff and the restaurant and lounge were perfect!
Great hotel service staff, very friendly and accomadating! Clean rooms. Comfy bed & pillows. Beautiful scenery by the river. Love the smell of cinnamon pine cones in the hallway. Enjoyed the pancake breakfast in the restaurant. Hotel was quiet & pleasant. Can't beat the location--walking distance to food & shopping. Great stay especially for price. I personally love a mini fridge in hotel rooms and would have preferred it if the rooms had one. Also service in restaurant, although friendly was very slow and there was hardly any diners. Plug in on lamp didn't work & I didn't realize it so i awoke to a dead cell phone instead of a fully charged one. Like most hotels, there is a lack of convenient electrical outlets for charging devices. still Enoyed stay and would stay again.
Restaurant waitress Laura. Extremely pleasant and professional. The kitchen did a good job. The size of the room. The bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths. They should have been discarded 2 years ago. The worst I have seen. Was told by the guest service agent at check out that they just renovated the rooms. It was not in the budget. Dust on the night table. The GM is not doing his job.
Vintage 60"s architecture, condition of facilities and cleanliness, riverside food and bar service, friendly and efficient staff.
Room service food was excellent. We shared the steak dinner and a Cobb salad. The beef was terrific as was the salad. Even though the hotel is about 45 years old, the room was newly renovated. The furnishings and decorations were very nice. Our only complaint was the bed was harder than is comfortable for us. Other than that, great stay.
I thought the location of the hotel was excellent. The restraint in the hotel was so good that we didn't eat anywhere else during our trip. We loved it here and will come back in the future.
Conveniently located on river walk and next to mall. Room was outdated for the premier hotel in Eugene
The decor, the staff, and the chef. Best food I've ever had at an American hotel.
I made a mistake on my reservation and accidentally booked for one week later than I had intended to be in town. Valley River Inn said "no problem" and they changed my reservation to that be night instead of the date one week out. I know that if they were booked solid they wouldn't be able to accommodate me but the front desk staff acted like it was not a big deal and that people make those mistakes all the time. I really appreciated the "customers always right" approach they took. pool and hot tub close at 10pm (which is fair considering many rooms look out to the pool and it wouldn't be nice to have loud noise coming from the pool area when you're trying to sleep.)
Everything was great and my weekend there made going back to the real world a little better :) That I couldn't stay longer
Sitting by and swimming in the pool was wonderful! And our meals on the deck by the river were excellent!
Said it had been remodeled but yet our bed was broke down and very uncomfortable, we always stay there because it was comfy Beds and we can have our dog with us.Were not sure we will stay again not at those prices.
Everything we needed. Clean, very comfortable! No complaints
Beds are very comfortable! Room exceptionally clean, and every single one of the staff members were so incredibly kind and friendly! We were treated like queens!
Quiet Staff very friendly

The hotel was very clean, beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly. Perhaps the location but not bad overall.

Staffs are very nice. The price can be lower.
staff very friendly & professional, room was clean AC room unit was loud at night, but not that big a deal
The entire facility was spotless. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Location was great.

Price and location This room had a single king bed. We had two people that wanted separate beds. Although rooms were available, the hotel refused to move us
Close to freeway access, gas stations and restaurants. Quiet location. A bit obscure to find even if you were using smart phone navigation. It is in the middle of other motels and businesses and a little difficult to get through the street maze.
Good Springfield location: easy to find, near freeway access without noise, near restaurants although mostly fast food types. Access to computer and printing facility although not separate form lobby and fairly noisy without privacy. In-lobby Starbucks. Paid for 3 plus star hotel because I looked forward to spa and swimming pool for sore back after drive and conference. No robe provided for long walk to pool which had no dressing room. 'hot'tub was only tepid and jets didn't work. Staff unable to fix.
close to restaurants and coffee. Easy access off of freeway. We asked for late check out because we arrived very late and they were only able to give us to 12pm
The rooms were quiet, bed was comfortable and the hotel was centrally located. The shower head was needle-y and both of us had to squat to get our shampooed heads underneath it.
Village Inn provided clean accommodations. Some of the people the apartments attract caused quite a ruckus the night we stayed there. We don't plan on staying there again.
I was scheduled for a medical procedure at a nearby hospital. So this facility worked out perfectly. I couldn't partake of the continental breakfast but my wife did and i took some for later. For the price the accommodations were great and the room was laid out in a comfortable manner. We definitely would not have any reservations about staying here again (maybe just to get some time to ourselves). Various restaurants abound within blocks of this location (Denny's, Sharies, Mexican, Asian and McDonald's for those on a budget.)
Check in was easy and efficient. Also appreciated that the very modest breakfast offerings were left out after 9:00am I had a strange meeting schedule that required my to be out early and returning briefly after the stated breakfast hours). The bananas were nice and not too ripe. Smelled like cigarettes even though a non-smoking facility and generally appeared worn and of lackluster care.
Great location! Front desk seemed a little overwhelmed in the morning. One woman trying her best to help 5-6 people
Easy access from the freeway and located in amongst all sorts of dining selections. We were there for a medical appointment and they made accommodations for my daughters baby. Nice friendly helpful staff. Will stay there again but will request a larger room. Our room was very small but we did notice that larger rooms were available
Nice room decor. I checked in at late in a very cold evening. For security there is an outside "walk up" window. The two female employees inside were debating on which room to assign me, while I waited out in the cold. Then I was told they had to call "AJ" to see if they could allow my service animal to stay in a handicap room. Yes, can you believe that? Doesn't make sense. One of the women agreed to let me into the lobby while they consulted with the manager on the phone to decide if they were going to charge an extra $15. Apparently they have never learn about ADA laws. They were both extremely rude and were complaining about the management while I stood there. I was assigned to a room upstairs and it was very cold. After an hour, I realized the heater wasn't working to warm the room, so I slept with my fleece jacket on. I didn't bother to ask for assistance or a room change because I was tired and didn't want to deal with the two ladies in the office .
Easy access to multiply highways. Newly remodeled. Loved the new shower. Bathroom was very nice except for the hole someone punched in the door. Very noisy next to a busy street. Hypodermic needle found at the edge if the grass in the back sidecparking area. Refrigerator was aet on high and froze our water and my can of diet pepsi exploded.
The staff is wonderful and made it much more enjoyable! They were extremely accommodating. Thank you guys so much!!we The bed was small and uncomfortable.
The price was right, we needed something cheaper to try to save money and this place seeme promising. The place was clean and the people were nice enough. The room was very small. I've stayed in motel 6 before but this one's rooms were about half the size. There was no shampoo with the shower so I'm just happy that I had brought my own. The beds were very small and uncomfortable. I personally wouldn't stay there again.
The room was comfortable and clean. Perfect for a short stay. The shower could have better water pressure.
We have been coming to Eugene for the last two years because our son goes to school there. This is the first time we stayed at the Inn and loved it. We met the owner Brian in the elevator and he graciously welcomed us and made us feel at home. Everyone who worked there was truly welcoming and struck up a conversation with us. The rooms were spotless. Very highly recommended.
Loved everything about this hotel. The room was very large with a sitting area dining area and a very large bathroom with double sinks! The room also had a working fire place and a very comfortable bed! The room was exceptionally clean and we didn't want to leave. The feel of the hotel is luxurious as soon as you walk in the lobby. The outside does not do the hotel justice. Absolutely worth the value. There seemed to be a train beat by and we could hear the horn several times during the night.
Staff were very accommodating. Allowed for very early check in and we used their complimentary car service multiple times. Would definitely come back. Nothing.
It is located at almost the center of downtown and you can simply walk to almost anything. The standard king size room I was given was nice and clean as well. I am fine with almost everything except with how Hilton and the staff handled my situation with the room. I originally booked the King Executive Jr suite. However, when I got there, they said there was a problem with the toilet in the room that they sold it to me. As a result, I was only given the choice of a double queen room or a standard King size room. I asked about other King exec suites but they said they cannot change to others. I then asked about the big price difference between the available rooms and if I can be compensated or refunded in anyway. They said they can't refund and they simply gave me a coupon (worth 35 dollars total for 2 people) for breakfast and free parking that is worth like 20 dollars. I was then put into a stand King room. Totally a joke. Super disappointed on how they dealt with my situation.
I got charged $19 for parking. Unaware this would be the case.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, tidy and clean, upgraded finishes, nice place. The trains....
Location Stinky hall,no shower curtain,TP holder improperly installed, uninformed staff
The staff were great and gave me some very helpful advice. The restuarant on site was very nice and the steak they served was amazing. The TV in the room was very large. The bed wasnt very firm
The friendly staff gave us an upgrade to a corner room and it was very spacious. The bed was wonderful and the coffee in the room was better than what they served in the restaurant!! Nice fridge and coffee pot in the room. The updates were all nice too! When I booked online, they didn't state the extra charges. Parking - $17 per night, Pet fee - $50 and the restaurant food was spendy too! If I had been aware of these fees, I would have been able to compare rates better with other hotels. Other than that, I would have given this place a 5.
The included breakfast was very good! Staff friendly and helpful.
I liked the fact that the general manager would not listen to my objection to the uncleanliness of the facility. I like that I know I won't ever let a single penny go towards any of their hotels or affiliates, from my wallet or anybody I come in contact with. I didn't like paying for the maid not doing her job prior to my stay, and the fact that I was charged extra for it. And to top it off the general manager out right lying about the charges and what they were for.
Clean and nice. Great room for the price! Excellent continental breakfast.
The room was clean and nice and we enjoyed having a fridge and microwave. The breakfast was good. The room was a little small for our family of five, but it was a weekend when all the hotel's were booked and we were thankful to have a room for the the nights we needed. It would have been nice to have a pull out sofa though.
The bed was very comfortable. We had a better night's sleep than we have in a very long time. There were notes written from the previous guest on the notepad, there was used soap and shampoo in the shower, and there was old food in the refrigerator.
The hotel room is large and roomy. Bathroom is big and clean. love the free movie option. Location is a little remote, but not a big deal if you have a car.
The only thing I liked about this hotel was the speedy check in. They gave out room to someone else and we got two twin beds instead of one queen non smoking that we paid for online. THERE WAS MOUSE THAT CAME OUT FROM BEHIND THE TV!!!! THE ROOM WAS NEXT TO TRASH CANS WITH OVERFLOW OF GARBGE THAT WE COULD SMELL INSIDE!
The front desk staff were friendly and it was cheap. Even the non-smoking room was smokey and the bed was small, uncomfortable, and the room was not very clean.
Spacious, close to the stores, convinient to freeway. The carpet- lot of spots.
The layout of the room worked great. The bathroom was fully contained so one person could get ready while the other slept. Beds were comfortable and temperature control worked well. Quiet on the third floor. For a basic room, no complaints. This is a Motel 6 with a kitchen, no frills. Some of the guests looked like they have been there awhile.
Room was not clean, smelled of mold and pine sol, their are so many people smoking cigs outside that it smells inside the room, the walls are so thin you can hear the people arguing next door all nite long.
This hotel was terrible, and scary. The room was not clean. There was no bedspread. There was no toilet paper, and only one towel. The shower drain was just a pipe with no cover. Someone knocked on my daughter's room at 2 am pretending to be me.
very dirty hotel Very dirty environment with smoke everywhere
Staff was very nice Location was great DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY Disgusting Stank of smoke Dirty Floors, Bathrooms etc No coffee pot, cups, plates, utensils it has a kitchenette that needs to have a little stocking VERY disappointing not impressed will NEVER stay again
It had appliances Stive, etc. The shower was great Check in was horrible and took for ever. Too many guest got keys, that didn't work. The bedding was old.
It's centrally located to all the places I needed to go. I asked for a no smoking room and everything in it smelled of smoke and burn holes in the comforter, blankets. Stains all over the carpets, sheets and towels. There was kitty litter on the floor in the bathroom and dark hair strands on the bathroom towels.
The price. The front desk is nice. The location. I had to clean the room when I first got in. It was dirty. They never have towels when I bring my dirty ones to the front desk.
Nothing Room smelled so bad we cancelled our reservation and found a different hotel. Terrible. Just terrible. They house a community of tweakers there for long term housing as well. Super awkward.
The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good and the people were nice. The room was a comfortable size. Had plenty of room to move around in room. The only downfall that I had was, that the bathroom was to small.
The room was clean and location was quiet. Walking distance to most University buildings and venues. The room was dark with not a lot of natural light. Bathroom countertop space was limited. We had 2 queen beds and there was not a lot of space between beds and cabinets. But everything I needed for a great weekend!
Not too much to like here Be careful when booking this hotel with the intention of bringing your pet. First they charge you an additional $10/night in order to get a "pet friendly" room, then when you get there they charge you an additional $20/night for actually bringing your pet. So in essence, there is a $30/night fee for pets which is much higher than other hotels in the area. Not to mention the rooms are musty smelling and in spite of their claim that the hotel was recently renovated, the rooms are far from the nicest in town. Do yourself a favor and choose one of the newer hotels in the Gateway area of town, you'll be glad you did!
Great staff, very helpful and hospitable, from front desk to breakfast staff to housekeepers. Great breakfast with lots of choices. Walls a bit thin - late groups being loud in the hallway.
We liked the pool. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was professional. They advertised a free shuttle to the airport but didn't have it available till later then our need of one at 4:15 am. We had to pay an extra $30 we had not anticipated. Taxi took long way to airport telling us it would be faster. It wasn't. Our choice of this hotel was made on having a shuttle available, so we were disappointed.
Very helpful staff. Alex at front desk was great. Loved the breakfast. Some faulty vending machines
Nice checkout time Friendly staff My car almost got towed because the staff neglected to give me a parking pass. Did not know one was needed so that would have been a huge bummer Was a bit pricey also Bummer that the jacuzzi jets were not working
The staff were friendly, the room was super clean and well kept, the complimentary breakfast and shuttle service to and from the airport was a huge plus too.
Location was great and the bed was very comfortable. Wasn't very clean and small bathrooms
Loved how close it was to nearby bars and university. Make sure you stop by voodoo donut, well worth it. Staff was nice and professional and gave us good recommendations.
The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and it's a great location within walking distance of the University of Oregon campus. Couldn't really ask for more.
Staff was helpful&friendly. Hotel is nice, with a bit of unfinished remodel/maintenance needed in some rooms. I had to be moved to a new room due to this problem.(broken toilet seat lid). Nothing that would make your stay unpleasant. Good breakfast bar For the price of the rooms I would expect to not find missing floorboard runners, broken toilet seats, nonworking coffeepot, broken door jamb, & loud poor running refridgerator. The STAFF definitely makes up for cosmetic problems...They are the stars!
really nice, great breakfast the elevator needs updating
Nice, Clean, Large, newly remodeled rooms! Decent price and quality. Highly recommended.
The swimming pool and the breakfast. Broken door and general cleanliness.
Clean, Nice appearance, Friendly Staff Balcony had lots of spider webs and the grill was off of the AC unit, leaning against the unit.
Conveniently located. Room was spacious and clean. It was evident they were upgrading the rooms. Great internet access Cluttered parking lot with remodeling supplies. They needed a second desk person in the AM for check out. Towel rack was falling down.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Spacious, Clean, Remodeled rooms. Great Bath and Shower. Walking distance to several places to eat. Close to I5. Highly receomended.
The friendly hotel staff and the clean room. There was nothing to dislike about this hotel.
Spacious and well furnished rooms (on the west side the rooms have nice balconies). The outdoor pool was nicely maintained and large enough to accommodate a number of guests on a hot day. Staff was efficient and friendly. Hot water temperature dangerously high.
The spacious room with a refridgerater, microwave, coffee, and free wi-fi! The service was great, and the breakfast was nice! All around, a good experience.
Newly renovated, clean, fair price. Amenities not within walking distance.
Very convenient to downtown, once Whole Foods opens across the street, it will be even better!!!
Clean, simple, quiet, good location for what we needed. Just staying the night after an event at U of O, it was perfect.
The staff was very friendly and helpful Great location Did not get the sense of clean. The mattress was broken kept falling into the middle my back and neck hurt in the morning. Needs a total remodel.
The whole place was nice and clean and very cute! The rooms were modern and the staff friendly. The location was near many restraunts and activities. Also, the location was an easy commute to the interstate making it easy to get around the local area as I traveled around daily. This place seemed to attract a younger and unfortunately a louder crowd. I experienced next door neighbors that were incredibly loud and carrying on into the early morning hours. Nobody wants to be kept awake all night or have to confront rowdy neighbors! Also the fitness center left something to be desired. It was outdated and tiny. It would be fairly unmaneuverable if there were more than 2 people in there.
Water pressure in shower and sink was horrible. The bed was so uncomfortable u could literally feel the springs. I'm still recovering from the mattress. Not to mention I could hear everything. The front desk seemed rude didn't tell us about breakfast or anything.
We locked up our bikes. By morning someone had cut our chain and stole my husband 1,000 mountain bike. Will NEVER stay here again. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.
We always stay at Campus Inn when we pass thru Eugene. This was at least our 4th time. Service is good, the rooms are clean (well, this time our room had an older bath and the shower/tub showed some age), there's a Continental breakfast, restaurants within walking distance, and now we've discovered the Ruth Bascom walking/biking path just three blocks away. And there's a Whole Foods being constructed a block away. We'll definitely stay again.
We like the breakfast, and the people we're fairly nice until checkout time when a man pretends to listen to you check out while reading a paper. We also like the fact that it is across from Whole Foods. Didn't like leaf blowers at 9am.
Hot tub was out of operation and appeared to have been that way for a while. The bath tub drain was clogged thus the water pooled up while taking a shower. Stains on carpet and chairs. Over all cheap feel to rooms.
