Staff was incredible
The neighborhood is marginal, and with a room on the 4th floor, you get a lot of noise well into the night. Only two elevators were working for almost 20 stories, with a wedding reception going on... made for really long waits.
The attitude of the staff was wonderful. Above and beyond. It had a full service feel - staff only, not the facility, and certainly not the scary parking lot. It simply was not as high end as I expected. I have had two kids attend college closeby, and I always dreamed of being able to afford staying at the Omni. We decided to splurge on our last night there after checking our of a rental house in the area. I guess I built it up in my head that it would be like a Four Seasons or something really nice, but it was no better than the Marriott or the New Haven Hotel which are half the price or less. Disappointing! I was totally unimpressed with the bedding especially, it was like a flash back to the 90's!
The place is gorgeous! And the rooms were really nice! It's more a trend. When you get a budget room, so many amenities are included. When you splurge for some luxury, I feel like you are charged for everything. Breakfast was not included, wifi costs extra, parking was $20 per day. Elevators seemed a bit slow and there's only one of the 3 that go to the garage levels.
Amazing stay at beautiful clean hotel with courteous staff! I would highly recommend this hotel!!! Next time we visit my daughter we will definitely be staying there. Place was extremely clean and staff couldn't do enough to make you happy! Haven't stayed in a place that was outstanding in cleanliness with amazing staff in years!!!
evryyhing was good
The bed is AMAZING. That has to be the best sleep that I have had in a very long time. The hotel is in the heart of the city and apparently does not have sound proof walls so it is very noisy all the time however they do leave ear plugs on the night stand to compensate.
Verry nice hotel, great location with a lot of accommodations. Don't let the price scare you, well worth it. Woke up with a back ache, bed was not as comfortable as I would have expected. Access to wifi should be included, but you have to pay extra.
The local restaurants & night life The elevators was fairly noisy & in constant use. The shaft was behind our room. An international convention of United Nations Ambassadors at the high school level was taking place hence, the elevators were at peak use......
Convenient location , comfy beds abundant towels , great conference areas. Lacking amenities like pool and expensive parking very cold unable to change room temp
The staff is always very friendly The bathrooms have not been updated.
The Staff was great friendly and helpful. When I got to my room the ceiling had hair stuck to it and the bathroom sink was broken. I tried to use the fitness facility and they had no towels, no wipes and the tv was turned up very loud and there was no remote in site.
Room was clean. Kind of a rough area. People drinking in the parking lot. A lot of screaming and yelling in hallways at night.
No deposit. Location is good. Free breakfast foods. Plywood sink front. Old water bottles under tv stand. sound of traffic in the room.
There isn't really anything nice I have to say about my experience. The location was good. Facility in serious decline. Room should have been $79 a night not $129 for the lack of quality.
It was very easy access to and from the highway and downtown. Always wasn't far from the wedding we were going to. Also the free breakfast was good. The LA Quinta was not very comfortable sleeping. The parking was over crowded and the rooms could use a freshen up.
There's a shuttle available to pick you up from Union Station, which is close by but not exactly walking distance. Their staff is SUPER friendly and really have that New England-region pride of their city and the area. Their rooms are well-maintained and clean. The view toward Long Wharf/Pier and the New Haven harbour - outstanding, I really love the view of a harbourfront! There wasn't much to dislike, but important things to point out was that, upon entering the room, there was one single moth flying around - it didn't make any appearance again after the first night, so I wasn't too bothered by it. The only other oddity that I had to double-take on was the choice of toilets in the room - it was one of those industrial toilets - not that I have a problem with it, but it just wasn't the best choice (plus, the noise that can be heard from your neighbours with the same toilet makes it feel like literally being in a bathroom stall.)
Good for a short stay. Great location. Perfect for what we needed and at the price it was.
The room is clean, tidy with nice furniture, hdtv and comfortable mattresses. The hotel is currently under renovation. Therefore, the gym is not available, which is listed in the web site.
A clean renovated hotel just a few blocks walk from Yale's old campus and art galleries. The breakfast buffet was inexpensive and ample and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
friendly staff, quick checkin/out, clean rooms, great location AC was set to 60 deg but never got below 72-75.. and the bed wasn't overly comfortable.
Location in downtown New Canaan Someone is apparently in it for the money only here, the New Haven Hotel offers no value and certainly no "caring" attitude. For that it charges too much at $ 159 per night. You get: - Good downtown location. - Clean room, good size. - Thin walls, to hear the neighbors, and everyone from the hallways. - Mattresses of dubious quality. - Breakfast, a stale buffet in a dark 2nd floor room, is an unfriendly reminder that nobody cares, and at $ 13.99 someone wants to make good money. - Self parking at the Temple Garage at $ 20 overnight, when the public rate is $ 16, no value add, just a surcharge by the hotel. Staff could have pointed out that there is a free parking on weekends around and across... - Very friendly and helpful receptionist, one person only. And Housekeeping knocking at the door at 9am on a Sunday morning makes this a bit of a bad dream in New Haven. Good luck!
The whole hotel had a complete overhaul, as did our room. The smell of fresh paint and carpet... Love it. The rooms were spacious, absolutely spotless, (almost) everything brand new, great big beds with lots of pillows. I couldn't understand why they would choose to have such a big renovation, obviously everything was well designed and good quality, only to leave the old shower floors in! Especially as ours was actually quite worn and grubby. The combination of old browning plastic with shiny new marble is not my idea af a design feature...
The room was clean, well furnished and comfortable Having to pay extra for parking
Facilities are modern and up-to-date. Very clean. Parking fees are not included in booking prices
Front desk staff was very hospitable and friendly. When I asked for a room modification instead of acting like it was nuisance they happily looked into it and ended up accomodating. The room was clean and very comfortable. I will definitely be returning!
Everything was very clean, and the rooms are quite nicely appointed. Most of the staff was very nice, too (there was just one check-in person who I found a bit rude). No breakfast included - even of the most basic kind. It's located on a somewhat dicey street. The workout facilities were minimal. The views from the room were ugly, and a bright light from the garage comes in unless you use the full blinds.
Location to Yale. Clean. Expensive parking.
The breakfast is excellent!
The bed was basically the only thing about the room that was worth the money. It was so comfortable and that's rare for me when it comes to hotels. The full size jacuzzi was good too. First of all, I requested a room far away from the elevators. My room was right next to it. Also, they bloody gave me a handicapped room. The nerve of these people. The first night I was there, a guy walks in to the front lobby to buy a room for the night. He gets a room far away from the elevators and on the top floor. Also, there wasn't a hair dryer in my room, no iron and there were barely any channels on the TV. There also wasn't any TP in the bathroom. The free breakfast was disgusting. There were powdered eggs for crying out loud. DO NOT STAY HERE, I NEVER WILL AGAIN.
Comfortable bed and room. Solid free breakfast with hot options. Friendly staff.
The room was comfortable. The lobby was inviting. Breakfast was wonderful. Front desk staff was friendly. The cleaning staff was rude and the pool was small and overcrowded.
Nice big room for the price, great water pressure in the shower, very close to highways, free breakfast. Mattress was too firm for my soft little back
Clean rooms and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very pleasant. Parking was tough to find. Very full lot.
Service during their remodel problems was excellent The actual remodeling caused a few complications. Once the remodel is over. Things i am sure will be excellent
People and staff were very nice while they are going thru renovation. There were college athletic teams also in the hotel that weekend..They ran up and down the halls till 3:00 am and to my knowledge no one ever asked them to hold the noise down.A constant party till about 3 or 4 am then they would all go into their rooms and go to sleep.Very annoying.
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Only paper cups provided for coffee in the room. When we asked at the restaurant and front desk we were told that there were no other cups available. The housekeeper, however got us some regular cups.
We were there two nights and they couldn't get the TV to work at all and never offered another room to us so we could watch TV. It was like we bothered the front desk when we kept telling them the TV wasn't fixed. No effort on their part and we usually go there 3 times a year but will not again. Never mind the 11:30pm fire alarm because the kitchen burnt food to a crisp. Lobby was filled with smoke....
We stay at a variety hotels in this chain across the northeast. This was a good location outside of NY on the way to Boston We didn't receive the room that we paid for and reserved. I was traveling with two of my children and we all slept in one bed in a smokers room. We all didn't sleep well, ended up with sore throats, headaches and our clothes smelling of smoke the rest of the next day as we continued our trip. The hotel was contacted numerous times, said that they would respond and we have not heard back. Super disappointing for this property. It doesn't reflect the chain, it's really a problem with this property.
The hotel had the layout of an upscale hotel with a large lobby and eating facilities without the expense of an upscale hotel. Would have been nice to have a Jacuzzi..
The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful even at very late hours of the night. Staff members in other parts of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. One member helped my fiancé and I get into the gym when our key didn't seem to work. Some members of the staff did a poor job at maintaining eye contact with us when answering questions. This can be a major issue, as my fiancé felt that the member was not paying attention to her or was distracted from their conversation. This is picky but is the difference between being helpful and highly professional.
There was little to like. This was the most run down facility I have ever stayed at. If it wasn't for the purely business function I was in town for, I would not have bothered to even check in. The parking lot looks like it has been bombed...it is littered in back with run down, broken cars with flat tires. Every bit of the facility, inside and out, shows significant signs of neglect. While I did not witness any explicitly illegal activities, I would not be surprised in the least if this hotel has unwittingly harbored prostitution and drug dealing.
The lobby bathroom was so dirty that it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a month. There were broken toilets and no soap or paper towels. Toilet paper was empty in all the stalls but one. My husband had already paid for the room by the time I reached the front desk. I was telling him about the bathroom as we were walking down the hall to the elevator and he spied old candy and dirt lying by the edge of the wall along the hall way. We then got into the elevator and the thing was barely running. The lights didn't light up when the buttons were pushed so it didn't show what floor you were on or anything. The bracket for the elevator buttons was scotch taped on. I am telling you that it doesn't get much better once we reached our room either. The toilet was broken and my husband had to fix it in the middle of the night. We just had a bad experience all together and would not want anyone else staying there. We would sleep in our vehicle had we to do it over again. BEWARE!!!!! DONT STAY THERE!!!!
Lady at the breakfast hall was very warm and had a wonderful charishma. There was no hotel transportation available
Close to bridgeport
Clean, Comfortable, convenient to highway. Check in was easy. Was allowed to check in before 3pm. I will stay here again. Had to drive to next exit for food, but wasn't that far.
This is now maybe the best value for the money in the Milford area. Located right off the highway, clean rooms that are fairly new and in good shape, good staff, clean, free coffee and free wifi. There are fridges and microwaves in the rooms, and a laundry room onsite. They have an outdoor pool in season. I was even able to stream video on the free wifi. This is not a fancy, upscale property, but it's very nice for a Motel 6. I definitely plan to stay here again when I'm in the area. Nothing.
Room was clean and nicely decorated. Desk clerk was rude. Very undesirable guests. Animals were everywhere.
Rooms were clean and had most of the amenities you would expect of a more expensive hotel. Location had easy freeway access. I was impressed by how thin they can build their walls. Not only was I able to hear my neighbor talking on the phone, but I could actually hear the other side of the conversation too.
Motel 6 Milford is an excellent motel if you need a cheap but comfortable and clean place to stay at. A friend and myself booked last minute for only $60 which is great when you have two or more people (only $30 a piece!) The beds were comfortable and we were overall surprised at what we were getting for the price. Quiet during the night. Great place if you just need a cheap place for a couple overnight stays but is not very luxurious, still good for the price though. A lot of the items in the room itself was faulty, we spent a good five minutes trying to figure out how to get the lights on! Realized some were just broken while others were easy to turn on. Workers are loud in the morning, could be heard going up and down the hall knocking on doors and cleaning. Like many motels nothing was included with our room, vending machines were expensive, so if you choose this motel make sure you are fully prepared with drinks, snacks, and all hygiene products!
shower pool was dirty, didn't have towels, restroom sink/toilet? (didn't look, just reported) overflowing windows so dirty couldn't see out of them staff only miminimally concerned about pool
Comfortable rooms and beds with individual thermostats and a spacious bathroom. The hotel is conveniently located relatively close to everything. Courteous and attentive staff. The free breakfast was mediocre to low quality; though they did change out the options daily, the options were few. The eggs were bland and made with egg-beaters as opposed to fresh eggs, and without salsa/tobasco (my preference) I didn't have anything to put on them to make them taste any better besides pepper, which didn't help much - similar issue with the cheese omelets. Also, while fresh fruit was available the first day, it was not changed out daily and by the time we left the bananas had gone brown.
Greeted by all friendly staff. Aaa card welcomed with a discount and a smile. Forgot everything and needed all complimentary toiletries and they were a huge help. Breakfast...well balanced and tasty. Something for everyone. Great coffee. Lovely staff. Clean rooms. Big bathroom. We loved the signs on the elevator (one man's junk...another treasure type quote, car pooling." A great surprise since we were looking up hotels by location and cost. We will definitely go back. Thanks to all. I Seemed to be trying to encourage a more "green" environment in regards to laundry and things in the breakfast area were recyclable. However, we couldn't tell if the disposable trays, plastic ware, etc. Really were going to be recycled. We appreciated the effort and still felt a little concern for the amount of waste. And we appreciate that there is an effort. It was a great stay. Thank you.
I have never experienced a more friendly staff all around: front desk, breakfast attendant, maid staff, etc... This will be a must stay hotel for this area.
Nice staff, good location Noisy HVAC, don't get a room facing the turnpike, very noisy. A little tired
Location-access to Rt 95 Shower/tub drain was completely plugged. I informed desk when I checked out.
the hotel staff were very helpfull and friendly ,hotel was very clean and good value for money
We needed a room for a short stay to allow an early morning departure by train to NYC. The staff were all very friendly, the room itself was carefully cleaned and quite comfortable, and breakfast was better than expected. The property itself both outside and in the hallways was somewhat old and tired. No pool or playroom; it would not have worked for the kids for a longer stay. Soundproofing was not particularly good. Still, overall it was a positive experience.
Great staff, very comfortable, reasonable price, relatively close to an outstanding selection of restaurants, WiFi that actually works well unlike most hotels
Clean, comfortable bed Noisy AC system, weird thermostat, it gets really cold then really hot, without me changing the temperature
Pool & Dinner was included, Perfectly wheelchair suitable,
I traveled with my husband and teenage son - we stayed in the 2 room loft - it was awesome space for all of us! Had a small kitchen with fridge - but most important we each had out own bathrooms. Cont breakfast was very decent. We didn't use the amenities. Easy on and off freeway which we did need. We had no views - but didn't care - that wasn't why we were staying there. Would recommend!
The bed was very comfortable with nice linens and pillows. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, especially the waffles. We also enjoyed the complimentary popcorn. The room was very clean and efficient, but the decor was a little "tired".
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, completary breakfast, a home away from home. Not many night life attractions, but isn't hotels fault.
Spacious suite, room enough for 2 adults and 2 grown-up children; nice and relaxed atmosphere, everything we needed during this 2-nights stay!
Room, itself, was nice and it was quiet. Although check-in is known to be at 3pm we arrived early from Norwalk area at 11am and then went to the front desk again ar 2pm and they never tried to be accomodating to us but just told us it was not guaranteeed until a 3pm arrival. The housekeep[ng staff should try to accomodate someone who is already at the locatiuon versus their traditional room-to-room approach. We did not get into the room until 3:15-3:30pm.When tyou pay over $200/nihgt, I'd lik ethe staff to try to be more accomodating.
Room very confortable, nice breakfast, ideal for family A little bit outside the city, no restaurants close by
Nice room with plenty of space. Courteous and friendly staff. We didn't stay for long but it was a good stay. The room was clean and neat. I would definitely stay there again.
We arrived just as the snow arrived. It was delightful to have a fireplace and space to relax with people during the storm. Loved the selection of teas available in the lobby in the afternoon and the waffles at breakfast in the morning. Would have enjoyed having an Earl Grey in the tea selection . ;>)
Room reeked of smoke, was dirty and outdated, and the unit next door held a party from 2-4 am with shouting and fighting that spilled over into the parking lot. On top of that, front desk was understaffed and slow, parking lot was crowded, and stairs to second floor unit was outside.
Good rate for a room with a full kitchen - Main lobby building and breakfast area was very nice with a nice outdoor patio. They accept pets. Rooms are pet friendly, but they stick you in the back corner with the other pet owners - There is also a $75 charge for pets. Some of the residents who live long term at the Village Suites were a little sketchy. New Haven town is also a little sketchy - The only nice area we found was near the old Yale campus.

breakfast was above average slight odor inside a room
quite , clean, excellent comp. breakfast no restaurant, no bar
the breakfast they would not accomodate us regarding a cot. The 800 # said the hotel could furnish a cot. When we arrived at the hotel, they said they would not, this resulted in us swiching hotels.
They pulled a bait&switch. We reserved a room with a king bed. When we checked in,w/o telling us,they gave us a room with a queen. When we complained, the mgr. said it was b/c we were the last to check in. We had to fight to get any kind of recompense.

Fast check-in Room did not have toilet paper - very strange bath layout
Absolutely the friendliest staff of any hotel I have ever stayed at No complaints
Very nice and clean.
Although a bit far from the Milford center, mall and train station, I was there for Subway hq training, so this was the best choice I could have made, with good price. Less that 10 minutes walk from Red Roof to Subway hq. The staff was not instructed about my Booking.com policy (unlimited internet access) so I had to spend around 50$ in roaming calls to Booking.com so that this situation could be instructed to the staff. The manager was not there until Monday, and the staff did not offer to call him (this was a Saturday). After many calls, I was able to get one internet card (TMobile Hotspot) for 1 laptop for the 1st night (but it was a 2 person room, and this fact made me do extra phone calls on sunday until I was finally be able to have 2 cards for 2 persons every night, so I could have "free wireless internet access in the whole hotel" like it said in the contract. This was the negative point in the 2 weeks I was there.
Place was generally quiet. Was windy and leaves were generally untidy. No breakfast.
