Dirty car, long waits & extra fees
Pros: The car I got was nice but it took too long to get it.
Cons: I had to wait for 25 minutes to get to the counter because there was only one person working... then they didn't have a car ready. The car I got never got washed, and the one worker went out & vacuumed while I waited. It took an hour to get a car that I'd already paid for. I returned the vehicle on time, with the exact amount of gas that was in it when I took it.
They authorized my card for double the amount of the rental & didnt release the other half for 5 days. THEN Hertz charged me an extra $71 (for reasons nobody could explain) and I had to be on the phone for over 30 minutes to get that resolved. Ridiculous!

Very Bad Experience..... Tried to force double pay
Cons: After trying to up-sell a different vehicle then the vehicle that was already reserved, they actually tried to force double payment.
They had all sorts of weird numbers of only a partial payment received and how much needed to be payed (more than the initial payment that was already made, and more than it would have cost from another company straight from the airport.)
I am still waiting for all of the pending transactions to finish to get this all resolved.... very unhappy with how this went down.
Unfortunately would have done much more business with Kayak and this rental company if this would be resolved correctly.

Cons: Clarify that return paperwork. Also put a pen in the drop box so people don't have to find one at the Asian grocery store a block away.

Never rent again
Cons: Hertz refuses to use debit after on line says they are acceptable, would not accept second form without spouse present. I had to lose a plane ticket that was bought to use from el paso

They wasted my time for 20 minutes and overcharged me
Pros: Made a booking for noon and arrived 5 min early.
When I got to the counter the employee said to give them a minute and they went and pointed at something on a clip board to a manager. After a while they came back to say they didn't have a car for me and they were trying to get a car from elsewhere or I could take a car that had a broken window that had been removed from the fleet for repair. I declined the damaged car as return could be a problem.
After another 10 minutes of them calling I asked if I can get one of the cars they had parked outside but I was told "you can't get a booking right now". After another 10 minutes they said they had a car for me and gave me a car that had been parked outside all along. Then they gave the insurance options without the decline cover age option and tried to sell me a tank of gas. They charged me $1.12 to release the car even though I'd already prepaid but I'd been there for 20 minutes by then and needed to leave so I paid it.
This used to be a really helpful location but I guess it's changed.
Cons: They'd rather make you wait an hour than give you an dupgrade and won't plan ahead to have enough cars for their number of bookings
The additional charges on top of prepaid.

Pros: Car was very clean when we picked it up. The employees were friendly and exceptionally helpful. Bonus points for letting us keep the rental for 3 extra hours at no charge. Would definitely recommend to others and use them personally again!

Pros: Ended up getting the car one a short notice and ended up with a great new car. Picked it up in Tempe and returned it the next day at the airport. Received prompt service at both locations. the car was very clean and drove very well
Cons: The one day rental rate was a bit expensive

Very pleased with the rental process, from pick up
Pros: The service was fine. The free upgrade to a Ford Explorer was unexpected, but much enjoyed. A great vehicle! The whole process worked out very well.
Pros: From check in to return the staff was very helpful and quick.

Car had approximately 30K miles on it
Pros: Good checkout, they let us swap cars as the tires on the first one where a bit past their prime
Option available to night drop at a different location about 2 miles away which was very convenient

Pros: Cons: I had to ask for assistance in locating where to actually pick up the car. It was far away and not well marked. Additionally I had to try and view the car for pre-checkout damages in the dim light of a parking garage.
Pros: rental staff was quick and efficient and none of the dreaded high pressured sales pitch to upgrade and purchase overpriced insurance.
