Girls at desk did not seem interested in their Job. Did not act like they wanted to serve you. The owners manual for the car we were told when we turned it in was in the trunk under the spare tire. there was a problem with the warning message on the dash that said to see manual but we could not find it. I reserved an SUV (Nissan Pathfinder) for a 3 day rental. When I arrived, the agency only had 2 cars; a minivan and a Hyundai Sonata. Neither one fit my needs. After 10 minutes of discussion, a Volkswagen Taos was returned. The agents prepped it for me but provided a disclaimer that the car's interior was dirty. I agreed but due to limited time, had to take it. The car felt undersized for what I rented but I was told over and over that it was in the same car class. I'm still not sure about that as it felt more like a compact SUV.Reviewed Oct 6 2026

Excellent overall. I had to wait a few minutes after arriving for my 8 am pickup due to several 8 am bookings, but I was driving away by 8:30 am. Returning the vehicle at 8 am a couple of days later went smoothly. Staff was courteous and friendly.Reviewed Oct 4 2026

Counter service was slow and awful. Advertised cars were not available. I was charged for insurance I didn't sign for. I was given EZ pass that I did not want. This was in total a very bad experience.Reviewed Sep 25 2026

The airport policy is to have a credit card. Kayak did not know that. I wasted my money to pay someone to take me to get the rental to be told I could not rent it. It would have been nice to know all facts and information in advance.Reviewed Sep 20 2026

They didn't honor the Ford Transit I'd reserved and instead offered me a minivan. I arrived at the counter and they told me if I wanted the car I reserved, I'd need to pay an ADDITIONAL $105 per day for an "upgrade." I showed them the email that identified that I had booked a Transit. They didn't care. The manager was extremely rude and ran off when I asked them to honor the original reservation. This was extremely disruptive because I'd a trip planned that included 9 passengers. I did NOT reserve a minivan, but a 12-passenger van because of this reason. I think potentially Kayak messed up this reservation (putting the transit as a preference not a requirement). However, my email confirmation said Transit. Either way i didn't get the car, my reservation was canceled, and I was left scrambling. That DCA Thrify location was the absolute worst customer experience I had ever had.Reviewed Sep 17 2026
