Pros:Very new and clean car. Smooth administration. Just perfect.
Cons:At the drop-off we had to give the keys to a guy in the car park with a little thrifty sticker on his shirt. We did not get any confirmation that we gave the car back nor that is was still in perfect conditions. It felt a bit weird afterward that we had nothing in your hands to proof that we brought the car back without any damage.
Car was super. Pick-up could have been faster, if there was like an online check-in that would cover most things or so.
Scotty at Auckland airport was great, helpful friendly etc but after that all downhill. I’ve emailed thrifty 3 times about issues with the car and still have had no reply. I called their customer service and the issue was not resolved. The car has been returned but the office was closed at 4 pm on a week day so I could only drop the keys off and still have not been able to speak to anyone. Poor customer service.
Cons:It would have been cheaper to pay in $NZ than $AUD and this was not explained.
Pros:Prompt service at the pickup desk despite how busy it was.
Cons:Requested GPS, but none available upon pickup. Car was damaged even though they told me it was all "fair wear and tear." I sighted several damaged spots with the parking lot attendant before departure, but upon returning the vehicle was told that none of them were valid since I didn't have the white sheet with it--the white sheet was taken at the desk before I ever saw the vehicle. I was never offered a walk-around.
Pros:Brand new car with only 200km on clock. Staff were efficient and helpful as far as they could be.
Cons:Kayak put us through to Cartrawler for the booking. Cartrawler told us to pay our comprehensive insurance at the desk when we picked the car up - capped at $517.50. When I told them this at the desk, they knew nothing about this deal and charged me their insurance product which was substantially more - $744.45
