I was scheduled to pick up the vehicle on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 12:00 pm. I was contacted around 9:30-10:00 and advised by the representative with Enterprise that they were unable to provide a vehicle and they were unable to assist. I requested an upgrade to meet my needs and they advised they had nothing. They stated they contacted several different rental locations and no vehicle was available. I asked if I was able to find a rental vehicle with a different company would they help pay the increase in rental cost and they stated that they would not and that is not there company policy. The call ended with no empathy or concern, that they were not able to meet the customer's needs. I scrambled for several hours and found a rental vehicle at the Enterprise Rent-A. Car location in Mount Airy. They were able to meet my needs and worked diligently to switch the reservation and met my needs and request. I would give the Mount Airy Location and Branch a review of above and beyond (5+, 100%+). The Winston Salem branch on Stratford Road I would give them a below poor rating with service and professionalism (-1, -0%). I am involved in working with Enterprise on a daily basis. If I have to use the Winston Salem branch I will find any other company to meet my customers' needs. If the vehicle is requested in Mount Airy, I will use them with no concerns. The treatment that was provided by the branch in Winston Salem gives me great concern as if they treated me this way then how would they treat any another customer. I did not want any special treatment, I only wanted the treatment, service, and courtesy that any person would be given.

I had to wait for over 20 min just to drop the car off. Very understaffed. They did not have the car I reserved when I arrived. I was given another vehicle and was charged more. The car was not as nice as the one I had reserved.

Didn’t like anything had to cancel because they wanted to see a physical card even though everything was paid for in advance and I had id …I was waiting on a replacement card in the mail and used Apple Pay when I booked it …I don’t understand why they needed my card again even tho every fee was paid they couldn’t tell me why either…had to cancel and lost out on a 100 dollars ended up using Turo way better experience

Cons:

The radio in our car didn't work so we called the main number. Woman told us to call the local rental agency and gave us two numbers, neither of which worked. We tried to use the bluetooth and stream music, but that didn't work either. We stuck it out with the car but no radio makes for a long ride.

The prices were ridiculous, the van was dirty, kept warning it needed an oil change, reaked of CIGARETTES and was almost unbearable to drive from Winston-Salem to Charlotte with my mother in law in kids so we could get to the airport all together! Never again will I rent from y’all AND I will be contacting corporate office about my experience as well.

1 They did not have the car I needed when I arrived for my appointment, gave me a poor substitute that was filthy 2 It took 4 calls to customer service before I even got to talk with someone who could help me. 3The only reason I even give 1 star is the awesome clerk in Fort Walton beach that got me what I needed and adjusted my bill for my inconvenienced. 4 3 days after returning car ON TIME, I received a text stating I needed to return the car. Another call to customer service.

Pickup in Winston-Salem was great! The problems arose during my drop off during after-hours at RDU. Website reported office would be closed, but car could be dropped off and shuttle service would be available. I arrived and followed signs to leave car in Avis lot...there, I found a car blocking the entrance. Another desperate driver arrived and helped me navigate around the blocked car. We had to drag our luggage around for several minutes to find a shuttle service at another rental company. Airport police was called but couldn't help. Officer indicated this was a problem reported previously. I would have missed my flight without the gentleman's help...this was after driving 2 hrs to arrive by 3am. It was a nightmare!!

They could have had the right address on goggle and Apple Maps. They could have answered the phone in the two hours I tried to call. Most importantly they could have HAD MY CAR READY. Had to wait 5 extra hours and never did get my car. Had to settle for a different one. Amazing rude staff. Like, i dont know how they are in business rude.

Boston drop off was great and easy thank you.

Cons:

The staff at the pickup location was rude, made a comment about my inability to figure out the apple carplay when i asked for help, and also insinuated that i was upgraded to a larger car when in fact i got exactly what i reserved, and when i asked about the potential to upgrade i was dismissed. The tires on the car i rented should be inspected, i hydroplaned several times while driving in the rain going at or under the speed limit. Likely will not use Avis again.

We were given a very scratched up car and there were not any other options. It made me a bit disappointed because I am a loyal Alamo customer and I often have great experiences. Also I checked in ahead of time, but there was no express check-in available, which I understand is not available everywhere, but it was still a lengthier process than expected to get our car.

The car had exactly 1/2 tank of gas at pickup even though they said it was a full tank. I returned it the same, and was charged. finding the drop off was a horrible experience. the car and features were nice. everything else was truly disappointing. very overpriced. value isn't there.

Kayak users should be informed that according to the staff at Budget RAC, PIT has instituted a ban on renting cars for travelers who pay with bank and debit cards since scammers have tried to pay with pre-paid cards. We tried with them, another rental company and finally Alamo and the staff suggested booking the car online (KAYAK) and then it would work with that system and that is how we got the car. I don’t know if it would work with all of them but unless we invest in a credit card, Alamo will be the first choice for car rental from PIT from now on.

Absolutely terrible experience and will never use Turo. Apparently the car we had arranged months before was smashed two weeks before we we due to pick it up. Trouble is, no one told us until we were on the Eurostar on the way to get it. They had had our money for ages. Seems like the owner, Luke, was trying to get Turo to make up the difference and hire us his more expensive alternative (a Porsche, which I wouldn’t want anyway). Turo “help” line was totally unhelpful. Couldn’t end the deal; couldn’t refund without us getting on to another department (hard on a foreign phone). They can’t call you…. So it was impossible to organise an alternative. If there is a problem with a car hire company, they just replace it. Turo was more expensive and unable to fix a problem. Never again.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

False advertising by Expedia as price $29 per day. Had to pay another $29 per day at pickup. Only after I paid in full apparently as directed did I get a receipt showing $29 more per day owing. Kayak is allowing this to happen and I will never use them again. I rented 6 different times in Europe in the last 2 months and all were as advertised and honest dealers thru different aggregators other than kayak. I just got conned and am warning people to be careful and not use kayak or Expedia.

I booked a car rental via Priceless in Fort Lauderdale at the advice of a friend who said there are a lot of rental car companies in Florida that seem odd/sketchy, but end up being okay. This establishment isn’t one of those. Upon arriving at the establishment, I was asked to pay several hundred more dollars than I originally had to when reserving my rental car. The origin of these charges and my right to decline them was not explained. When I asked questions, I received an attitude and/or poor explanation from the woman helping me. In addition to this woman raising her voice at me when I asked questions about the extra charges and took some time to think through all of the information that was thrown at me regarding these extra charges, one of her male coworkers chimed in and raised his voice at me as well - from across the room. In front of a room full of other customers. Which was incredibly unnecessary and unprofessional, as I was calm when I asked these questions. After asking for my deposit, I was asked to sign and initial the card reader, so I assumed that this signature & initials were related to the card payment I had just made. Wrong. My initials were taken and electronically applied them to various statements on the contract for the rental car that were never actually explained to me, verbally or otherwise, so it appears as though I initialed/consented to each of their policies when that is not at all the case. In addition, I was charged $60 for “SunPass Activation” which was supposedly for them to keep the SunPass in the car active (thereby saving customers from having to pay the tolls when driving). However, when I went through a toll in FL, the attendant told me that the SunPass was not working and proceeded to charge me $3.75 for the toll. What was the $60 “SunPass Activation” fee for, if I was going to have to pay tolls IN ADDITION to this fee? I noticed in the contract that there is an administrative fee for any outstanding tolls that customers accrue while driving the car, which will be charged to the credit card on file when Priceless receives the toll invoice. Given that I paid for the SunPass activation, I will be reporting any “admin fees” for outstanding tolls that are charged to my credit card by Priceless as fraudulent (it’s not my fault that the SunPass was not working properly!). Kayak, please stop recommending this place to your customers!!

I’ve booked and paid for my ride plenty early to get the best deal. I was supposed to pick up the car at noon but decided to get the car after dinner. When I arrived, they have canceled my reservation that I have already paid for. Made me rebook the car through a third party for double the cost then proceeded to tell me the unlimited mileage is only good for people who arrived at the airport the same day. So I had to pay more for unlimited miles. Read the fine prints, friends. They will try to get you every way possible.
