The worst flight was on an older plane that felt like it'd been built in 1975, and the entertainment was rubbish. The staff however are always pleasant and accommodating. Their service was just as good on my heavily delayed return flight, and managed to handle the tired, short fused customers with aplomb. Hats off to them."

Then we were delayed by another 30 minutes. Then we were asked to leave the plane as a replacement jet was required. It was meant to take 15 minutes, when it actually took at least 1.5 hours. It was a 6.10pm flight, and we boarded the new plane at 9.30pm. We eventually jetted off at 10.30pm. I'de received 10 text messages stating each each rescheduled/delayed departure time. Sadly, it's the worst flight I've ever had. I ended up 3.5 hours late for work, missed an important business meeting. Shame."

Cons: "My first flight with United leaving from DC was delayed multiple times and therefore I missed my connecting flight from Newark. I stayed at a hotel to catch the next flight with British Airways leaving from DC to London but had already checked my bags in and could not find out where they were, so I slept with only my handbag! I was never reimbursed for my stay at the Marriott even though I had no control over the flight that was delayed for unknown reasons. After all seemed okay and I reached Mumbai I expected my checked in bag to be at the baggage claim area. I waited for two hours and still had no idea where my bags were. I was very frustrated at this point. I was then advised to create a customer care case with British airways to track my lost baggage, even though United should have handled the transfer of luggage earlier. I called back for three days straight, again I was still without clothes and toiletries his whole time, and the service was dismal. After I got in touch with British and United and got everything sorted out I had my bags delivered to my address in India. The terror continued. I opened my bags and found some minor electronics and other valuables missing! How does that even happen if the bags were previously screened and processed in the States? Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with this entire experience and do not recommend booking with United Airways at any cost!"

The seats are tiny the trays are tiny, they don’t have TVs, seats do not recline. First and last time Flying with them. My bags were 42 pounds and 46 pounds and I had to pay and additional $30 for each of them."

I understand we all need to take off ASAP, but they've got to understand if everyone was standing at the gate, there would be no room to stand so we all disperse and know we can check our smartphones for updates."

This day there was an additional 2 hour delay! THe flights going through TPA to DTW got there before my flight did! I would think priority would be given to those connections that are longest. I was given a $50 voucher to Spirit for my trouble. Should have been more like $100. I have to take this flight again in Jan., and hope it's improved."

Others sitting near me were wondering the same thing. Eventually a Spirit Air employee with a portable, rolling yellow stand appeared, and the TV screen on the stand announced our flight. Otherwise, the worst aspect of the airline is that the seats are hard plastic shells that do not recline at all. Taking a carry-on into the plane costs $45 each way. Absolutely no food or beverages are free (even water). You can't mail your boarding pass to your phone. There is no entertainment. This airline is REALLY basic and not comfortable. The sole attraction is low fares."

Cons: "I didn't like the experience up to the point where I got on the plane. First the flight was delayed, these things happen though so I wasn't that upset about it. Then we got there an hour and forty minutes before departure and waited in line for baggage for an hour only to be told we were in the wrong line. Then we were directed to the correct line and waited another 20 minutes for baggage. Thankfully there wasn't a line for the security check and we made it to the gate with 5 minutes to spare. Needless to say we will never be flying this airline again."
Cons: "I was in between 2 people that were very inconsiderate and kept hitting me with their elbows. There wasn't a lot of room and one of them fell asleep almost on top of me."
Pros: "Clean, simple, comfortable"

Cons: "I did not like the hiding fees Spirit charges like a seat fee? if I'm paying for the flight and it is mandatory to seat then why am I being charged a seat fee? or we do have the option to stand? & it's bad enough we are forced to pay for our 1 bag but this airline also is charging for us to bring a carry on we place on our feet? it's ridiculous and disgraceful to nickel & dime your customers. Also, the planes are very outdated, for the way they are charging for every little move you make at least spirit should spend the extra money on upgrades."

Cons: "Seats dont recline and arent very comfortable. Small layer of padding on top of an NYC bus seat equivalent. By the end of the trip by butt and legs were sore AF."

Cons: "I didn't like the seats because they didn't recline and the armrest were thin and there wasn't any entertainment plus the $45 fee for a carry on bag was absurd"

Cons: "Hostage me for $55 carry on baggage which is free elsewhere is robbery. Even not a free bottle of water in four hours flight makes Spirit very poor and cheap airline."

Cons: "The tray table is way too small. Charging for a carry on is rude, 55$!?"
Pros: "We liked the flight attendants on board. They were very nice and accomodating."
Cons: "Had a 35 minute delay while on the plane. $50 for a bag?!?!?! And it can't be over 40LBS!!! If given a choice, I would have chosen another airline, where the flight was more and this cost was less. A standard in the industry is $25 and is typically 50LBS."
Pros: "Overall, a great experience: a big plane w/o a lot of people which makes for easy de-planeing! Will definitely fly the new route from EWR down to FLL & the Islands again!"
Cons: "I hate a/c on flights, not just Spirit."
