They boarded half of the plane and stopped when the pilots radioed in that there was a severe hydraulic fluid leak. Updates were supposed to happen every thirty minutes but more than three times they were longer than thirty minute intervals and at one point more than ninety minutes without an update. The representatives at the Chicago gate told us we were all set then the rest of the passengers boarded the plane. The pilot said they were waiting on maintenance paperwork to print off but then we waited an extra hour at the gate on board while we could still hear very loud tests of the hydraulic system. Once we finally left the gate and headed out on the runway for takeoff we stopped just before takeoff and the pilot said we were waiting on PAPERWORK AGAIN! This was another 30 minute delay and we finally took off. We were supposed to arrive home at 10:00pm and instead arrived at 3:00am..."

From rude united employees to a bad flying experience i will not use united anymore and frankly, me and all the other passengers on that flight should be compensated somehow for that experience. The only easy thing about this trip was purchasing my tickets through kayak and how well there service is. Thank you"

I'm honestly surprised that old tiny plane made it to Orlando in one piece. We had a preacher onboard and we had him praying the whole time cause the plane would suddenly drop in altitude, or shake, and it made this really loud buzzing sound the entire time. We had to yell to talk to the person next to us cause it was so noisy. I wasn't expecting a whole lot cause it's not like I bought first class or anything, but I'm genuinely trying to repress the memories of this experience. As for the rest of the rating choices, there was no food. Just a tiny water bottle. No entertainment, unless you count begging to live through the journey."

However, The first flight operated by Silver (a partner of United) was delayed due to "maintenance". Due to this delay, we missed our connecting flights and had to get new flights, causing us to have an over night layover in Chicago and then arriving in Aspen Sunday, the next day of our original arrival day. I just want to add that I saw on the departure board that Silver had maybe 16 flights that morning/ afternoon and maybe 7-8 of those flights, including mine, were delay or canceled. Not to mention they never updated their board to reflect our flight was delayed. The only good comment I have was that the Silver attendent who helped us get a new flight was very helpful."

Plane was so small and old I was terrified the whole way. Finally land and pilot says they are understaffed so had another delay. Then the shuttle trains at airport were broken so had even more delay. I was so late I almost didn't graduate. Did I mention TSA machine incorrectly identified an object in my anal cavity? Hindsight would have rented a car and driven 6 hours than take this 1 hour flight. Worst flight ever."

I waited at the airport for until 1:30am before I got a confirmation that the back was in fact at Newark still. I had a nursing convention to go to and I had no clothing. So I had to Uber to Walmart than Uber back to my hotel. So I didn’t get any sleep. I didn’t check into my hotel til 4am due to a negligent spirit employee. I paid for the checked bag and there was plenty of space in the over head compartment. She caused me unnecessary stress and an embarrassing morning with my administrators due to my lack of sleep."

Cons: "I pay $42 each way for my carry on at the moment of the booking. When I arrive at the airport the front desk person told me that the carry on that day was free, but don’t return my $42, saying that the system was down. That’s upset."

I live far from the airport I flew out of so this was a large inconvenience. We were never even told why the flight was being delayed. My entire 5 hour stay at the airport we were never updated once on the staus of our flight. I was also charged over $100 for just my bags and my seat. $45 for a carry on bag is ridiculous. I paid more for my seat and bag than I did for my actual ticket. Paying $13 to sit in the very last row is stupid. I will never be flying with Spirit ever again. Legitimate robbery. The website and app were also slow and hard to operate."

Cons: "I hated the boarding! We were 45 mins early and they made us take our luggage with us, and then made me throw out everything that was 3.4 oz because the luggage was “already taken” to the plane. I will NEVER fly with Spirit again."

Cons: "At the airport check in, over 100 of us stood in line to drop off bags for TWO HOURS with no Spirit staff in sight. When the staff did arrive, they were slow about helping us, laughed and joked with each other ignoring us, and not even apologetic. Once they began taking bags, they weren't friendly or even very attentive. The flight attendants paid little attention to the customers...stayed all up front eating, talking to each other, or on their electronic devices. The seats are very cramped, uncomfortable, and had no pocket or way to recline (unless you paid extra). There was no complimentary snack/beverage options...not even water...and this was for a 3 hour flight. The overall staff was not friendly or inclined to be helpful."

Cons: "Reason's why I rated each category poor: Overall - see below categories Boarding - We were told that our bags did not count as personal items, and we had to either pay $130 to carry on two bags or throw them away. Basically, "Have a nice trip, let me start by robbing you." Crew - During the flight, I used the on-flight lavatory. As is normal in most flights, there's no space between the last row of passengers and the mini-room at the back of the plane. To keep from putting my rear in another passenger's face, I stepped into the mini-room until the stewardess commanded that I wait behind the "silver line." Sorry other passenger. At the least be courteous about your command with me and/or the passenger who had to sit in the rear (pun intended). Comfort - No seat back storage, and the flight was as cold as is bearable for the average person. Food & Entertainment - None available. Upon asking for water, we were instead offered ice."

Cons: "Spirit is ranked America's most hated airline for a reason and that reason I discovered on my last trip. I believe its the most deceptive airline ever. After paying almost $200 for a midweek round trip from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando I also had to pay $55.00 for HAND luggage in one direction. To make matters worse I join their $9 club thinking I would save on my luggage on the return I then had to pay $57.00 for the same hand luggage on the return. After that experience I decide to return to Ft' Lauderdale on the morning flight instead of the evening flight I was booked on. After several calls to their reservation department and 4 persons later I had to paid apprx $120.00 for a SAME DAY change. What was funny is that when I got on the aircraft it had no more than 50 persons on it. So what started out as a quick cheap business trip was now well over $400 and counting . It gets better, thirsty from all the up selling along the way and no way to get a glass of water Spirit then charged me $3.00 for a small bottle of water. I decide to keep my thirst. NOT ANOTHER RED CENT SPIRIT!! BY FAR THE WORSE AIRLINE EVER"

Pros: "Flight was delayed but passengers were kept well informed by the ticket agents and they kept the lines moving, even when the computers went down, I was very impressed by their calm and professional demeanor. In flight crew polite and efficient."

The seats don't recline and there was no wings on headrest so when you looked around everyone had their head against the seat in front if they had to sleep, I had to do the same. If you wanted anything to drink including water there was a fee so I just flew thirsty. fair was unavailable by the time I was trying to pay and that upped me another $50."

Cons: "My 16 month old granddaughter's car seat and stroller was supposed to be delivered at the gait, but instead was delivered at the baggage claim area. The car seat was soaking wet and we had to use her blanket and some other clothing to make it partially suitable for her sit in her car seat. We fly 2-4 times a year on different airlines and with the pre-check status we are able to get through security rather quickly. In the absence of pre-check (because Spirit airlines does not have that facility) we were in the security check line for a long time. Our grand- daughter was upset and crying. Fortunately, eventually someone from the security department came to our assistance and expedited her and her parents' clearance"

Delta didn't charge me $45 dollars to CARRY ON one bag- and they sent my ticket (for free) to my cell phone. Spirit has so many ludicrous hidden fees- $45 to CARRY ON a bag? That is beyond stupid- and $5 if you don't have access to a printer in order to obtain your boarding pass? I'll never fly spirit again."

Cons: "my friends and I did not like one of the ladies at the counter desk because after paying for our surfboard bags 100 USD each bag she claimed that I had to pay another extra 50 for overweight. My friend had to show her the airline's online statement for her to beleive her own companys policy on surfbags.Eventually she suposedly recredited my account. But she did not cos she did not even give me a receipt for it,. You know? We needed to board the plane not hang at the counter desk. She did not even apologize for her wrong doing. Besides her attitude, everyone else was great and things went fine. I also think that if the sits on plane were more comfy more people would fly through this airline."
