I received a notification around midnight that the flight would be delayed from 8am to 1pm. Certainly the delay would allow only a narrow margin to make any connecting flights. Naturally, the process of loading the plane and some "communication error" resulted in additional delays. As a result, the rebooking offered by American Airlines included a flight to LAX, landing at 1230 am followed by a 6 hour layover. I can expect arrival at home at 0800, shortly before my work shift begins. I purchased the tickets with an expect arrival time as 830 pm the same day. A 12 hour swing is simply beyond the pale of reasonable delays.

Pros: "Crew was great! Aircraft had the tv’s in the back of the seats, so we got to watch movies and be entertained. Flight was smooth and landing was perfect. Couldn’t ask for better!"

Cons: "When there isn’t a person assigned to the emergency exit row and you offer your service and the flight attendant says you need to pay for it. Seriously there a deadly flu and the fight attendant is concerned about the price difference and not making sure there is social distance. Tons of empty seats and they never offered for anyone to switch"

Cons: "This was a terrible flight. Had a connection that was delayed several times and eventually cancelled without explanation. I was traveling for my best friend's wedding and they did not work with me to try to get me on the next flight. I had to book another flight from another airline."

Cons: "AA flight into Miami delayed due to late arrival of aircraft, followed by significant delay on the tarmac waiting for another plane to leave. This then delayed getting bags that required rechecking. At the AA booth, even though I was 42 minutes before the flight, they would not let me check my bags (not 45 minutes before) requiring me to stay in Miami overnight before booking me on a standby flight the next day. Customer service representatives were unhelpful and supervisor was rude. As someone who travels a lot, this was the worst service I have ever received from an airline (which says quite a bit). Will rethink ever booking a trip on American again."
Cons: "The gentleman sitting next to me never turned his phone in to airplane mode. His phone rang several times while the flight attendant was going through the safety procedures right in front of us. This was after the announcement came that all electronic devices where to go into airplane mode. The flight attendant did not do anything and seemed to ignore the phone that kept ringing. The gentleman was even talking on the phone while the flight attendant was going through the safety procedures. Later while landing an announcement came over that we were to return to our seats, close all tray tables, and seats ts in the upright position. At this point the gentleman sitting next to me leaned his seat backwards. The flight attendant passed by the gentleman at least three times and never said anything about his seat back. Evidently this flight attendant did not care to do his job properly."

Cons: "Let's take a minute to thank American Airlines for assigning a 34 year old US Air plane without power outlets, entertainment options or even working personal lights for a trans-Atlantic flight. On the positive side, the seats were also very uncomfortable and had ashtrays!"

Over three hours late to Orlando. Even in Orlando people couldn't help us find the long term parking shuttle and wind up taking a whole hour tour of Orlando airport."

Cons: "We had to walk outside to board the plane. My husband has two bad hips and we had to walk up a flight of stairs to board the plane. The plane was extremely small and our sits were located in the rear of the plane. The bathroom had an unpleasant odor."

Pros: "The cabin crew were friendly and apologetic for the chronic problems with the entertainment system. The pilot gave us a smooth flight and landing, and was very conscientious about turbulence prevention and safety."
Cons: "The inflight entertainment system was spotty. Some customers had monitors that worked, some did not. A woman with a two-year old had one of the malfunctioning monitors and was forced to entertain her child for nine hours without tv, movies or music. Similarly, on our flight over to London 10 days earlier, my husband and I were 2 of more than 30 passengers whose monitors never worked and we were forced to fly for 7 hours in the dark on an overnight flight staring at the backs of seats. It was miserable. The cabin crew told passengers they had begged the airline for years to replace the system but the airline refuses. Will not fly American Airlines transatlantic again."

Cons: "Watched a very weird interaction between Muslim (with a hajib) women with a kiddo and desk crew. She wanted to sit next to her child on the flight and needed to switch seats to be able to. Woman was very gracious and understanding that she was asking for an accommodation. Ends up her flight to Philly had been moved to a different gate after they had found a volunteer to switch seats. Volunteer was totally unfazed but Desk crew made it seem as tho the Muslim mom was at fault for the time and trouble they had had to go through to accommodate her. She apologized profusely and was very appreciative for the trouble evernote had gone to for her. . As she walked away the crew looked at each other and shook their heads. Pretty crummy way to treat customers!"

Cons: "The flight was delayed three times and ultimately cancelled. I got no notification of the cancellation, only found out because I was constantly checking. Ticketing agents in the airport were overwhelmed and ignored most passengers, on the phone they were useless and offered no solution. I was attending a family funeral in the morning and after American offered no options I rented a car (another huge expense) and drove all night to get the my destination."
